Outright Obama Deception

The fair and fearless Brit Hume (along with contributor Zachary Kenworthy) has a revealing item about Barack Obama in his Political Grapevine. Given how pithy it is, I'm just including it in full below:
Barack Obama is championing welfare reform in his new television ad titled "Dignity." The ad says that Obama "passed a law to move people from welfare to work — slashed the rolls by 80 percent."
But the television spot fails to mention that Obama resisted the very welfare reform bill that led to the reduction in the caseload. Back in 1996, President Bill Clinton signed a federal reform bill in an effort to make welfare what he called "a second chance, not a way of life."
But then-Illinois state Senator Obama told the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper that year that Mr. Clinton's stance on welfare was "disturbing."
And on May 31, 1997 Obama said on the floor of the Illinois state Senate, "I probably would not have supported the federal legislation." Kind of reminds you of his other efforts to claim authorship or leadership on bills where his involvement was tangential at best, doesn't it?
I guess this is is the way a relatively inexperienced candidate bulks up a dinky little legislative resume . . .

of the word "inartful" when referring to Weasel Clark's comments about JSM's military service?
How many Americans know this is effectively saying he agrees with Clark. Even the media thought he was disavowing Clark's attacks, when in effect he was saying he agreed with them.
He has a lot of nerve. Criticizing JSM's leadership backgroung when he has no leadership experience at all. |

McCain chases off cons and evangelicals and panders to the Hispanics, who will always vote for the Dem/lib free stuff way of life when it is offered.
Obama is ticking off the far left AND the muddled middle by letting his many cats out of the bag. |

I'm sorry, but I am getting pretty sick of these ridiculous articles which attempt to take single sentences from what are complicated nuanced positions and then treat them as if they totally sum up a person's stance on an issue.
It's either sloppy or deliberatly misleading, and it's not very respectful to your readers. |
|
|
Talk about flip flopping; Obama is a master at it and the media applaud him all the time. Americans need to wise up and see the truth about the kid from Corrupt Chicago and how did he get to where he is today. |
|
|
Dskerman said, "I am getting pretty sick of these ridiculous articles...". His stance is very nuanced from the stance of the Dskerman he knew for twenty years. When asked to clarify his comment, Dskerman said, "It was inartful of Dskerman to put it that way.";) |

Are you telling me you really belive that Obama's position on Clinton's welfare plan can really be summed up by one sentence from a speech on the Illinois house floor? |
|
So not only was it only a sentence, it's not even the full sentence.
Even just the small part of the sentence that Hume punches a hole in his argument
“I am not a defender of the status quo with respect to welfare. Having said that, I probably would not have supported the federal legislation, because I think it had some problems.”(Sen. Barack Obama, State Of Illinois 90th General Assembly Regular Session Senate Transcript, 5/31/97, http://www.ilga.gov, p. 42)
that's quite different than a flat out rejection of clinton's welfare to work policies.
This is why I complain, because I think we deserve to be treated like adults who want to understand the full picture. |

Obama has avoided 130 House votes in only a couple of years as a Senator. He is all about re-positioning himself and/or not taking a position at all. The mainstream media and his followers will not think twice about it either. He is bulletproof and ten feet tall.
Obama had a couple of years in the State Senate. Before that, apparently he organized a community. I don't think his organization stuck though. The community is still pretty unorganized. Of course Obama was against welfare reform. Those were his constituents.
And actually, I was just kidding you about your umbrage with TH as you have a point. They have jumped on one liners before. Example - Hillary and the Bobby Kennedy assasination quote. |

http://www.ilga.gov/senate/transcripts/strans90/ST053197.pd f
obama starts on page 42
here's what that sentence is followed by
"...because I think it had some problems. But I'm a strong believer in making lemonade out of lemons, and I think that Senator Synerson and the Governor's Office have done a good job in working with this side of the aisle and the other Chamber to come up with the framework that potentially can succeed in moving people from welfare to work."
and it continues with him describing his specific problems with the federal bill. |

Dean used to write thoughtful entries. Now it is mostly cut and paste. They are in a hurry and, thus, sloppy info is passed on. This is what they say the dinomedia is doing. |
|
one small objection for a man, one huge unqualified candidate for America. |
|
I am in full agreement that he is not deserving of any special treatment in reagard to his positions, and I would expect everyone dem or repub to do what they can to learn about both candidates.
I'm just sick of articles like this which are clearly just trying to distort, rather than enlighten. |

...expectations. B. Hussein "Osama" Obama is raising John F...ing Kerry's ante another notch. "I was against it before I, singlehandedly, made it the law of the land". Neo kommies don't care about facts, truth, decency, honor, patriotism or America. B. Hussein is their proclaimed Fuehrer/kommisar - whatever he says, whenever he says it, neo kommies will salivate and nod like bobble head dolls in mindless adoration of their "savior". |

Avoiding votes means yoyu can say anything you want the people to hear and you won't beluing or flipping. But, gee, ain't it convenient? |
|

Why doesn't McCain or the RNC make an rebutal of this this ad. Show that BHO is lying and trying to make himself something that he is not. He opposed this and now states he was for it. This will not go over well in fly over country. |
