McCain's Message: I Can Beat Hillary
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 10:41 AM
While everyone knows Mitt Romney wants tonight's debate to be about which candidate is best on the economy, John McCain's message is evolving ...

Sure, McCain will attempt to neutralize the economy issue, and, of course, will continue to talk up his security credentials -- but the big change in McCain's message will be that he has begun stressing that he is the Republican who can win a General election.

In short, McCain wants voters to decide based on the question:  Which Republican can beat Hillary (McCain knows that polling shows he wins on that issue).

This was confirmed to me last night by a McCain spokesperson.

The video that Mary Katherine Ham posted below shows this new "electability" strategy in full force...

Leadership?

Worse than Dole. I wasn't excited about Dole, but I wasn't pi$$ed off at him, so I voted for him. What's the likelihood of anyone who has been called names for wanting the gov't to actually enforce the laws, to vote for those jamming amnesty down our throats?

McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Feingold, McCain-Leiberman. Leadership like this I can do without.

Carbon taxes, constitutional rights for Gitmo detainees and amnesty for illegal aliens await us no matter who wins, whoopee!!!

I will not participate in the dissolution of my country.

John can't beat Hillary
If he can't win the base. Period. Those polls are meaningless and premature.
voicedude1 writes: Thursday, January, 24, 2008 11:00 AM
vote for me because i can beat hillary
... my name isnt mccane, its obama...

voting for someone who may be able to beat someone else isnt necessarily a good idea. president obama would be a bad idea but he could beat hillary. that doesnt mean i would ever vote for him though.

i think voting for mccane would be a bad idea as well, not as bad as voting for obama but still bad.

McCain can and will beat Hillary or Obama in November!
sans pareil writes: Thursday, January, 24, 2008 11:12 AM
McCain Might
be the darling of the MSM, the Crossover Dem/Lib/Indie voters of the first batch of primaries and, of course his immediate family NOW...but IMHO in November he would have to have at least a dozen or so Conservative republicans choose him ahead of "None Of The Above" to win. No???

A piece of advice to any Conservative still planning to do their civic duty (defeat the Libs & RINOs) -
Base your decision on who is (at the very least) "Most Likely" to Nominate AND Fight For The Appointment of Conservative Judges (by extension Conservative Causes) to the Supreme Court Bench, there may be as many as 4 over the next few years and we certainly don't want TWENTY YEARS of a Court filled with Souter, Breyer & Ginsberg CLONES!!

Hint: It Ain't Mad Mac...just as it isn't the Politician Preacher (no longer the Preacher/ Politician) Shuckster.

Vote Anti-Dem
It might be our LAST CHANCE to defeat Liberalism!

Can Only Beat Hillary
If McCain does that tonight, If I was Mitt I would turn to him and say "Senator, with all due respect. I believe anyone on this stage, that represents the Conservatives of this Country and the Republican Party, can and will beat Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama

McCain is okay
All of the so-called conservatives taking pot shots at McCain are annoying. They had their chance and ignored Duncan Hunter. I'll vote for the candidate that isn't afraid to veto the squandering of the taxpayers' money (unlike the Republicans who so quickly join the Dems in bribing their home districts) I'll vote for the candidate who stands by the military and who was willing to wear his country's uniform for 20+ years. McCain may not be perfect, but we won't have to guess where he stands.

No Doubt in My Mind
McCain (and possibly Giuliani) is the only candidate which has demonstrated in the polls and overall appeal that he can win against the Democrats in November. I honestly believe that if GOP voters don't come to that realization pretty soon, we're going to be stuck with 8 years of Hillary, of which I know nothing worse.

McCain's temper=unstable

McCain is an unstable angry, tempermental, hot head with a potty mouth.

Agree with him or he's droppin F-bombs on you, calling you names, or getting into a scuffle with you.

Then he'll tell you he doesnt have a temper, he just get's frustrated.

Now that is heroism.

Note to McCain- get a handle on it.

What's that quote about history?
Didn't the Democrats try this in '04? A old wrinkled Vietnam vet named John with only tepid party support and a short temper who's main selling point was "electibility"?

Yeah, how'd that work out for them?

McCain is the only one who can beat Hillary. Rudy, God bless him, has too messy a personal life. The Clintons will skin him alive.

I hate to be rude and interrupt your campaigning on behalf of John McCain, but I just want to point out that our gal Mary Katharine spells her name with an 'a' in the middle, not an 'e.'

I like McCains temper
If you do something stupid and pi$$ him off, he'll return the favor and rip in to you. Good for him. I refuse to take anyone's abuse either.

He is the most honest candidate, and calls it like he sees it, even in anger. We always know where he stands.

Hillary will wipe the floor with mcCain
Hillary has been planning for 6 years to chew up and spit McCain out:

x wife (McCain dumped her for the )
ultra rich trophy wife
wife's drug addiction

KEATING 5 scandal
Microsoft undrer the table deals

and then his losing public record:

John McCain

--voted against the Bush tax cuts, one of only two Republican senators to do so;

--twice authored the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill with its Z Visas and path to citizenship;

--has done nothing to accelerate the construction of the border fence;

--stands behind McCain-Feingold even after the Supreme Court has struck down portions of it as unconstitutional;

--defends the Gang of 14 even though a long line of vacancies on the courts of appeal existed at the end of 1006 (and has only gotten longer in 2007);

--worked with Lindsey Graham to destroy the GOP's agenda in September of 2006 by grandstanding over the interrogation and treatment of terrorists bill;

--opposed drilling in ANWR; NOW supports kyoto treaty

--opposed the Federal Marriage Amendment, twice;

--advocates a massive energy tax; (he even dictates why type of light bulbs you can use)

--backed the law of the sea treaty ( which gives control over our SOVEREIGN NATION TO THE UN:

__Hates and punishes success: tells Corporate America to shove it: so Corporate America moves off shore

___supports GOVERNMENT PAID FOR EMBRYO Stem cell research

___Anti alternative energy, then pro alternative energy then anti alternative energy

McCain is honest and passionate in his beliefs, and it shows in his temper. I do not trust a man who does not show his true feelings.

Your comments are the only hate speech I've seem lately.

Leave his wife alone. I makes you look all the worse.

McCain can beat Hilary
McCain is the best candidate, with the best voting record, best credentials, and the best advocate on all important issues, and the ONLY one who can beat Hilary or any other Democratic candidate.
