TH Hops on the Straight Talk Express in New Hampshire
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 7:37 PM

This weekend, I went up to New Hampshire to attend a few town hall meetings and ride on the Straight Talk Express.

What I found was a candidate with unlimited energy who made himself available to the press.  I also found a guy with a pretty good sense of humor:

(If you're interested in the campaign finance reform issue, National Journal's Marc Ambinder has some info about our trip here.)  Perhaps the most important thing I learned is that nobody in New Hampshire cares about this issue -- or the "gang of 14."

You can read my column about the trip here.

New Hampshire should care.

I certainly do.

But actually McCain lost me FOREVER listening to him on the floor of the Senate during the debates over Mexican Border Security. Will NEVER vote for him.

Matt Lewis spins on behalf of McCain

If John McCain is so "open" with the press as you assert, why does he go to such great lengths to avoid appearing on conservative talk radio shows such as Hewitt, Prager, Medved, and Limbaugh ?

Also, Matt, while you may be able to find some chilly northeasterners who 'don't care' about the McCain-Feingold Bill or the Gang of 14, but if it those issues truly aren't very important to conservatives in general, then McCain should have no problem going on talk radio to defend his votes----right, Matt ?

And if you personally believe those issues are not important to conservatives in general, then you will have no problem authoring a blog post defending those particular Senate votes by McCain---right, Matt ?

I'd rather vote for Hillary
Th devil will buy a new snow-blower before I buy into the lies that McCain tells. This man wouldn't make a pimple on a conservative's butt.

How does making a joke of the 1st Amendment show that you have a sense of humor?

Never. Ever.

McCain/Kennedy
Not ever voting for McCain, ever. I did vote for him in the 2000 primaries. Never again, ever. NEVER EVER. In case I wasn't clear, NEVER!

Senator McCain
may have a portfolio, full of good conservative votes and principals, but these votes and principles were cancelled out in the "Comprehensive" Immigration Reform equation. Lest we forget, Brownback also sided with McCain and Kennedy on this Senate resolution.
