Distorting McCain

In his speech earlier today on Iraq, Senator McCain said the following:
“The dramatic reduction in violence has opened the way for a return to something approaching normal political and economic life for the average Iraqi." (Emphasis added.)
Over at the Huffington Post, the distortion patrol set about its work immediately, writing:
Addressing the Veterans of Foreign Wars, McCain criticized Obama and Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and insisted that last year's U.S. troop buildup in Iraq brought a glimmer of "something approaching normal" there, despite a recent outbreak of heavy fighting and a U.S. death toll that has surpassed 4,000.
What a bald and crass deception, one that would be embarrassing to any serious website. But don't count on a correction from HuffPo.

In the memorable words of Cheney, "so?"
That is what the reaction will be from the 10% represented here will think. |

I encourage those of you who get Showtime to see Tracy Ullman's "State of the Union." I'm convinced Ms. Ullman is a conservative. She savagely parodies the left especially Arriana Huffington and Nancy Pelosi. Ms. Ullman's has Arriana's accent, pretentiousness and the liberal stupidity of Arriana is dead on. Her skit this week of Nancy Pelosi getting Botox shots and yelling "not to much, I have to look concerned about the medicare bill not passing" was hilarous. |

Distoring McCain? Goodness, that's what Hugh did all during primary season to this great American. |
|
|
Hugh was relentless in distorting McCain and his record during the months of pitiful Romney. Typical Hugh these days. |
|
Did ya know that wars cost money? Didja know that our Armed Forces cost money? Didja know that bombs and machine guns and ammo and stuff like that cost....MONEY?
G A S P....!
Didja further know that FREEDOM costs Money??
Didja know there are Dark Age Islamist Butchers who wish us DEAD and that killing them costs....Yep....M O N E Y...?

Cicncy Guy,
Yeah, I hope the McCain campaign reads all the anti McCain rants by Hugh surrogate Romney when they vet for Veep candidates.
Hugh is boring now, I check in awaiting his next doomed crush, but don't know how he will top Harriet Myers or Mitt. |

Ryan01
Liberal spending NEOCONS like you are why we are 9 trillion in the red and growing! |
|
Boyo?! YIKES!
Note to Comrade Konopski: FOCUS! Speaking for The Evil Neocon Cabal--Trust This--Ryan ain't one. Sheeeesh, you could ruin our rep for true nefariousness. Don't EVER associate Ryan with us! |

Hugh knows distortion when he sees it... He's an expert in dispensing it. His pattern is so predictable. It was the raving posts digging up dirt on Huckabee, then McCain, Ron Paul, and now it's Obama. You gotta give him kudos for tenacity. If your guy looks like he's on the verge of losing, trash the other guy. As he said on the radio once, "negative works..." (remind Romney about that)
How dumb are we for buying into any of it, still?

for Dem Nanny State entitlements.
Funny, Carl Levin today dissed General Petraeus with the "lack" of Iraqi "self-sufficiency", but is shameless in pandering to Michigan constituents to keep them Demo-Dependent. Like most Lib-Lefties, he sees NO Irony there! |
|
McCain is running as a foreign policy expert, yet he's repeatedly confused Sunni and Shi'a, which is like confusing Catholic and Protestant in Northern Ireland.
On top of that, he has this nasty habit, still, of using a racist term in referring to Asians. For all of the hand-wringing over the Reverend Jeremiah Wright's speaking uncomfortable truths about this country, the candidate with a problem with racist behavior, and it's his own, not an associates, is John McCain. |

In 2005, per capita Federal spending in Michigan was $6,410, which was less than EVERY state in the south, which ranged from a low of $6,509 in Texas to a high of $12,583 in Virginia, and less than the national average of $7,470. |

Hugh took a little detour, but he is back. I would rather have his formidable guns on our side, and he has really shown a lot of humility and humor.
(In fact he has had us rolling on the floor. He said, "Some wanted Thompson, others backed Giuliani." That's it. He stopped right there. Can you believe him?!)
Now watch yourselves, because you know what goes before a fall. |
|
tortured him and his fellow prisoners "Gooks". You gotta a problem with that?
I sure as Hell Don't. |

then the middle east will finally be at peace and Jesus will return the day after inauguaration because americans will have overlooked a true hero and picked an american hating bigot whose associates include Farakhan and Ayers (the guy who bombed schools). In this world of an Obama's presidency anything will be possible - even whites will become enslaved by blacks as blacks seek to find a balance between affirmative action and white superemecy outcomes. Keep wishing for an Obama presidency because it is all WISHFUL THINKING THAT CAN NEVER COME TRUE. Michelle is right about one thing - Obama is an underdog and he will be a confirmed underdog in November. tick tock tick tock! |

under Obama's plan to pull out the troops in the first 6 months, then when al qaeda takes refuge in Iraq and Iran helps them to begin recruiting Obama plans to send back our troops to clean up.....it you think the war is costly, try ignorance i.e. the kind Obama represents. The cost will include american lives, dollars and mortaging america's FUTURE to the likes of Iranian president (Obama's favorite president in the middle east who he will schedule to have a conversation without any conditions). Hey, Obama is giving FL and MI voters conditions but the Iranian president gets no preconditions - MLK would be proud for fighting for the rights of ALL americans to vote . |

spending in washington is out of control. McCain has addressed that issue during Bush's presidency and even now in his campaign. What most americans realize is that the Iraq war is not responsible for making people sign onto mortagages they could not afford to live in homes that they can not afford so that Obama et al. can use other people's money to bail them out and support a lifestyle the losers can't afford. This link is a stretch - even for Bush haters. I will give you this - demcrats want blacks and others to trust them with their retirement (social insecurity), education (free college), sex life (free abortions and welfare checks if gals and boys can't afford to raise their babies of choice), chilren's beliefs (asking parents to relinquish ALL control of their kids to the govt.) and now health care. Never mind, the govt. has failed to implement any program successfully, we are now expected to believe Obama et. al. will guide us into a better life - NO THANK YOU! Like my 2 year old says "I do it myself". Responsibility is obvious even to a child - only libs. don't get it! |
|
"Some wanted Thompson, others backed Giuliani."
Yes, I suppose 2% qualifies as "some".
As for spending, Republican Presidents are no better at controlling it than Democrats, and because they also have this blind faith in cutting taxes, deficits tend to skyrocket during their terms in office.
The rate of increase in national debt went up when Kennedy took office, but since then, it's gotten worse when Rs were President, and better when Ds took the Presidency.
Kennedy: Average of 2.1% increase in National Debt Johnson: 3.0% Nixon: 5.5% Ford: 15.2%! (but only for two years) Carter: 9.2% Reagan: A whopping 15.7% for 8 years! G.H.W. Bush: 11.8% Clinton: 4.3% (and it went down every year but one) G.W. Bush: 7.0% through his first six years

Hugh's claim that using the words "glimmer of" instead of "opened the way for" is a "bald and crass deception" is just ridiculous.
Perhaps it's time to read some of Hugh's previous posts on McCain, I'm sure there's plenty of negative stuff about McCain there. You know, while Willard Romney was still in the race. |
