New York Times Dips A Toe Into Pro-Family Waters!
Posted by: Jillian Bandes at 2:41 PM
How bold as to suggest maybe mothers and fathers (!!) raising kids together (!!) are good for the health / upbringing of a child. I wonder what NYT readers are liable to do with themselves after reading that!
In recent years, several fathers’ rights organizations have offered father-only parenting programs and groups, and studies have shown that these help men become more responsive and engaged with their children. But a new randomized, controlled study conducted by the Pruetts and the Cowans found that the families did even better if mothers were brought into the picture.

...notably, the families in the couples group did best. They had less parental stress and more marital happiness than the other parents studied, suggesting that the critical difference was not greater involvement by the fathers in child-rearing but greater emotional support between couples.

Liberals love children, too!

I'm a pro-choice progressive and I believe vehemently that children need to grow up with a
mature and loving mother and father. I would go
even further and suggest that every child is
ENTITLED to a safe and secure home with their own
Mom and Dad.

I hang around with mainly liberal people and not
one of us would agree that single-parent families
or homosexual families are a good substitute for
the nuclear family.

The Obama Plan
The Bureau of Two Heterosexual Parents will administer several days worth of tests to those poor children, determining compatibility and assign them to the proper couple. Inspectors from the Department of Right Living will ensure the residence is a Victorian farmhouse with a wrap around porch on 20 acres of apple trees, devoid of asbestos/lead/biphenol/tobacco/and hornets. The Czar of Pay will assign both parents a yearly income of $300,000 each, the male for his work as an astronomer/philospher/Army general filled with strength and nobility, the Mom for her much harder work of laundry and pie making and cogent expression of aphorisms. Homeland Grandparenting will assign two wacky and colorful oldsters for comic relief. The local school board will staff the schools with PhD's of wonderful disposition who will create a learning epiphany once a week. And, at the proper moment, the Bureau of Adult Transitions will send an older woman/man into the child's life so they can gently learn the joys of sex.

That should do it.

Townhall vs. reality
Conservatives sure love talking about the way things SHOULD be! Yes, in a hypothetical utopia, every kid should have 2 well-educated, heterosexual parents who make 6 figures, sure. What should we do to help the kids who don't get all that? It's too hard to figure out... Let's just daydream of a Norman Rockwell world that never actually existed.

Kids first
Yet another study that explains what everybody already knows. Kids turn out better when raised by two parents. Of course, conservatives are spending an awful lot of energy these days making sure that a lot of kids are NOT raised by two parents, so I'm not sure why Town Hall is so uppity about the New York Times.

Bad news for libs
They will be out screaming and shouting - they will decry the lies in this article - they will say it is only a few far right people who think this way.
surprise - the country may be finding it's moral compass - the truth about personal responsibility is being recognized by more people. With the economy in a downturn people are spending more time at home and are seeing what is really going on with their children. They recognize that the children are guided more by the liberal media and celebrities than by family values that they could have been learning. Hopefully this awakening will last.

"I wonder what NYT readers are liable to do with themselves after reading that!" - I predict a rush of heart attacks throughout the liberaldom.

Obama scum
Look at how Obama turned out. FUBAR. The slaughter at fort hood is 100% Barrack hussaine obama's (HATE AMERICANS) fault. He has been preaching "hate Americans" for a year now. He sides with the Palestinians and hamas And he hates cristians just like the shooter.I've said it a thousand times, Obama's hatred for our Military and CIA is going to get soldiers killed someday. Just look at how many attempted terrorist attacks there have been on his watch. Now his radical beliefs, his speaches, and his anti-American adjenda have gotten American people killed.Hopefully someone will get revenge for Obama's hatred for the military. Hopefully before the next liberal opens fire.

that is amazing "news"
Wonder how the previous 10,000 generations of families did it?
Exeye writes: Friday, November, 06, 2009 2:51 PM
Dang it!
There goes another story about personal responsibility and thinking of your kids first. Gawd! Just RUINING the party!
