By now, we've all seen the old video where Giuliani says he favors public funding of abortion.
But in March of 2007, Giuliani Adviser Bill Simon assured Pro-Lifers that Giuliani now supports the Hyde Amendment, banning public funding Of Abortion:
... Now this from CNN:
TALLAHASSEE, Florida (CNN) -- Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told CNN Wednesday he supports public funding for some abortions, a position he advocated as mayor and one that will likely put the GOP presidential candidate at odds with social conservatives in his party.
"Ultimately, it's a constitutional right, and therefore if it's a constitutional right, ultimately, even if you do it on a state by state basis, you have to make sure people are protected," Giuliani said in an interview with CNN's Dana Bash in Florida's capital city.
It's one thing to support a candidate who used to be pro-choice. But I'm having a hard time imagining a scenario in which I would vote for a candidate who not only favors the practice of abortion -- but also favors taking my money to pay for it.
No, wait. I would never support a candidate who holds this position ...
