Hillary: The Resilient Lady in Pink Enters the Zone

Doug Heye thinks only Hill could have met up with Bill:
Except those hoping to see Clinton fail, liberals and progressives most likely did not tune in. Of North Carolina Democrats watching last night’s interview, many are those suffering from buyer’s remorse on Obama. They are votes she desperately needs.
By appearing on The O’Reilly Factor, the state’s most-watched news program, Clinton is sending a message to voters throughout eastern North Carolina.
She demonstrated a willingness to enter the “lion’s den” and not back down under aggressive questioning — the Sunday shows are tough, but unlikely to overtly accuse Clinton of waffling, misleading, or wanting to bankrupt the country. Prior to last night, it’s doubtful she had heard the word “bupkis” in an interview.
My favorite moment: "You know you're gonna bankrupt the country with health care, right?" Overall, it was a friendly, feisty, interesting interview in which she seemed in control and even kind of funny at times. Her quip about Moses being able to help with health care was pretty funny. Could she be...likeable?
Will it make a difference in North Carolina? Things are clearly swinging her way (10 points since Wright's Q&A), and appearing on the state's most-watched news show, during which she made no noticeable gaffes, can't be a bad thing. "I learned a lesson from Ronald Reagan," wasn't a bad touch, either, although shouldn't she have to answer for calling him a "great American politician" after slapping Obama repeatedly for admiring Reagan's ability to change the direction of the country?
Her policies are liberal, and people will see that, but many North Carolina Democrats are blue-collar ones with reservations about free trade, gas prices, and oil company profits, so her bread-and-butter sell is not a bad one. Taking oil profits simply because she think they're too high and health-care mandates may have been bridges a bit too far, but that's who she is.
In other Hillary news, she'd totally date a Republican:
The question: "If your husband gave you a pass for one night and you could go on a date with any celeb, alive or dead, who would it be?"
Clinton's answer: "That's such a dangerous question! How about Abraham Lincoln?" She also hasn't had any work done, apparently. I want to know who the reporter is who asked her who'd she'd cheat on her husband with and whether she'd had a facelift. (Update: People Magazine asked the first one.) Now, that's testicular fortitude.
She's got Gov. Easley of N.C. starring in ad for her, calling her "determined" and "resilient," which I'm inclined to believe considering she doesn't know what Red Bull is and can't work a coffee machine, yet campaigns 18 hours a day. She's superhuman!

...but I have to give her credit where it's due. She did a fantastic job on the Factor. Bill literally got the best interview of her life so far out of her IMHO. Apart from regular Fox contributers who appear regularly I don't think I have ever seen another guest do as well on the Factor, and interact with Bill, as Hillary did. Amazing, really. For the first time in 16 years at the national level the woman actually seemed in earnest.

If Hillary were going to name a dead man, why didn't she just say, "Vince Foster" ?
..as a little more human than people have seen her in the past, but her policies remain dangerous. This woman must never be President. |
Part 1 of the interview was great last night and from the snippets I heard on "The Radio Factor" today, Part 2 will be even better. |
I don't think O'Reilly did a particularly effective job of responding to her Marxist nonsense about "the big corporations" and wanting to make "rich" people pay higher taxes.
And I really couldn't believe the way Bill was saying to Hillary that he feels sorry for Obama, vis a vis the Reverend Wrong situation.
Obama CHOSE to allign himself with Reverend Wrong for 22 years, with full knowledge of the Reverend's beliefs. Obama made his own bed---now he must lie in it.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed she brought out the VRWC jacket.
I'm definitely in the minority in not seeing her as more "humanized". |
no work done! I've seen her in person up close and was struck by how attractive she is in person. She looks good for her age and is much smaller in person than she looks on t.v. She is very petite, a little fire-cracker IMHO. |
Oh, please! Get over it guys! |
I thought Hill looked good and did good. Strong and personable. Far better than then stumbling Obama in Wright press conference. She does come off as a grown-up where Barack does not.
But, as you say, she can never be president. Her policies are dangerous...like all socialists'. I hope people were paying attention to that. O'R had to move thru the interview and just leave her scary ideas hanging there unchallenged.
My adult daughter had a very disconcerting experience with Hill's underhanded ways back when Hill failed the first time to institute government-controlled healthcare.

Relax, it was a joke, sweetie. :)

As usual, I'm one moderate in a huge conservative pond. How dare I have an open mind and think that the interview has been great. I say "has been" because Part 2 airs tonight. BOR got a few calls on "The Radio Factor" this afternoon saying that he didn't ask hard enough questions and was too soft on her. I'm sure you all agree. And you also think he's too soft on Obama. And I can't change your minds nor will I try. I like BOR because he's independent and is fair to both sides. I guess I did know what to say after all. |

..in her diatribe against the oil companies is that those companies' stock is in virtually every 401k and mutual fund in the country. Who is getting all these profits...? Some guy in a $1k suit in a big office? Maybe, but all of us are getting it as well.... The oil companies are.......us. Capitalism. Look it up.... |
you are very correct. Our energy mutual fund is going through the roof and, to my husbands delight, he might actually be able to retire before he dies. I remind myself of this everytime I go to the gas station. |
Not if this woman becomes president. She stated very frankly during this interview that she wants those oil company profits. She just wants to take them. Government is already a license to steal. How far have we fallen that the politicians don't even bother disguising that fact anymore.....? |
I yelled back to the wife, "Wow. Hillary actually is likeable tonight." Hats off.
I experienced the same shock re: how fun she was....until she blandly reported she is, without a doubt, going back to "Bill's tax hikes." Of course, this is not news, but just hearing her say it with such aplomb and with no apologies sent me up the wall and through the ceiling.
How dare she? How dare she state with the same matter-of-factness that she is going to take the wind-fall profits of the oil companies? She dares because nobody cares.
Looking back, the whole interview was pretty diabolical. Smiling, laughing. She might as well have been saying: And now, my pretties, I'm going to kill all your children. And we all sit like lumps, enchanted by her new-found likeability. |
Part 2 hasn't been so pleasing tonight. |
The interview ended on a high, jovial note; just the way I like it. |
But I respect the fact that she is telling it. Like Ted Kennedy, even though he is a drunk fat arrogant legacy that caused the death of a young woman through his carelessness at least you know what you're getting. That is, unless you're a voter in Mass where the motto is: I'm drunk! Let's Vote! Kennedy, Frank, Kerry, Whitey Bulger... |
I didn't think you were falling for it. Just chiming in. And surprised, I guess, that she's telling it with no apologies. Tonight: She was less dazzling. She's all for sanctuary cities. And not for water-boarding, even tho her sources were weak and vague.
Yeah. She gave off a vibe of "Scheuer? Tenet? Who cares about them? My sources are better." |
