Commerce Secretary Richardson Sympathetic to Illegal Aliens

President-elect Barack Obama's decision to appoint New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson as Commerce Secretary is good news for illegal aliens.
As a former 2008 presidential Democratic contender Richardson advocated liberal immigration policies, although he has refused to use the word "amnesty" to describe his support for allowing illegal immigrants to become U.S. citizens.
During the announcement Richardson, a Latino, spoke for a portion of it in Spanish to thank Obama for the appointment.
As Commerce Secretary Richardson will oversee business issues, including those dealing with immigration. Richardson supported 2005 immigration legislation authored by John McCain and Ted Kennedy that required illegal aliens to pay a fee and learn English in order to become a citizen.
“If they meet all these requirements, we should say ‘Welcome to the United States. You’re now a legal worker,” he said at a 2006 Georgetown University lecture. “With instantaneous worker verification in place, we’ll be able to do it.”
Richardson has other views on immigration conservatives will dislike. He does not believe the Southern border should be secured by a fence. He'd rather see more cameras installed along the border and an increased number of Border Agents to detain dangerous illegal aliens by hand.

I voted for McCain, but I HELD MY NOSE. He also repented, which does say something. If he hadn't, he would have been ix-nayed. My husband's income dived 60% when illegals poured in here, underbidding Americans on construction jobs. There would not have been overbuilding to this extent, contributing greatly to the housing crash and decline in values, if they hadn't been here, either. Does anyone want to pay us back? Didn't think so... |

Honestly, many people coming here make better citizens than many people born here. I'm not against more immigration, in general, but our elected officials have a sworn duty to protect the citizens IN THIS COUNTRY.
We're not too thrilled with either party, right now, so don't get your hopes up in the next election. Things will only get worse, if you keep this up, and when those kids who fell all over themselves voting Democratic are turned down in favor of a foreigner who came here illegally, they'll be singing a different tune. Count on it. |

While I do like he's pro-second amendment I can't stand the fact he condones sanctuary cities and anchor babies.
He is good at getting an area to grow but all of it's done in a corrupt way...
He's the pain pill masking the pain...He won't say amnesty but he'll give any ILLEGAL my money faster than you can mutter oh sh!t.

The Republican Party under GWB seems intent on political suicide. Pandering to citizens of other countries illegally in our country while telling us we must be vigilantes if we object to illegal aliens ignoring our borders and laws. Mel Martinez was RNC Chairman to ensure an open borders candidate in '08. The cheap labor express will be kept running, regardless of the consequences, to party or country.

The higher the levels of immigration (legal and illegal) the better the prospects for Democrats and liberals. So why would anyone expect an Obama administration to pose a hard line on immigration? Obama captured 75% of the hispanic vote (even higher amongst newly minted Hispanic citizens) and you better believe that they expect a light hand in the enforcement area.
What absolutely doesn't make sense is the loose immigration policy that many Republicans have supported over the last decades. Apparantly they have a suicide wish. |

I believe that he was caught doing this and the leftist media just brushed it off. He and Clinton got preferred status from China for this "favor". China was a big financial supporter of his "library" and Hillary's campaigns.
He is now going to have a chance at big, big money, depending on what he wants to sell. |

You see, his stepfather adopted him in Indonesia whenhe was six years old so he could attend school there, as was there laws at the time giving him a dual Citizenship - whether he was born in Kenya, Hawaii, or anywhere else in the world.
His mother never rescinded it for him while he was a child, and he has never rescinded it since becoming an adult; and one can NOT hold office of the President holding a dual Citizenship according to the Constitution, WHICH IS the supreme law of this land, and as such should be upheld don't you think? If not, you can kiss all your rights as a U.S. Citizen, goodbye, right now. Our Constitution is, after all, what we are supposed to live by, is it not?

As long as his mother was a U.S. citizen he chould have been born on the moon and he whould still be a U.S. citizen. Now if momma Obama renounced her U.S. citizenship before he was hatched that's another thing. Let's focus on taking back the congress in 2010 and the white house in 2012. The latest in the failure of Obama to produce his birth certificate, as required by law. If he's got a legal U.S. birth certificate, why doesn't he simply produce it? The one he put up on his WEB site, soon after he was asked about it, was clearly a fake It has been declared a forgery by experts. (gees...I could have made a better forgery than that) and when called on the fact that it was phony, he promptly removed it from the WEB site.
It should be obvious to everyone by now...he doesn't have one, because he isn't a citizen. Is he really that arrogant or did he figure in his "smug self-righteousness" that the issue would simply go away? Even his own grandmother, when questioned, stated unequivocally that he was born in Kenya. Will the Democrats then attempt to change the law, because they now control the Congress?
The Speaker of The House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has already threatened to dissolve the Electoral College. (so fraud will be easier) Wouldn't surprise me they'd try something of the sort (it certainly wouldn't be the first time)!

This is interesting. Souter tells Obama to produce the vault copy by December 1, 2008. (I believe the messiah will defy the Justices.)
Who will force the issue? Who wants to open up that Pandora's box? Imagine if there is something on that birth certificate that disqualifies Obama from the office of the President. What are you going to do? Start a civil war? There will be blood in the streets if the government try's to enforce the rule of law. This should have happened before the election. (Obambi knows it too.) |

Preferably an electrified, barbed wire FENCE!!
However, chances of recruiting more Border Agents isn't looking very good since any Border Agent stands a good chance of being arrested by his/her employer, and ultimately thrown in prison for 10-11 years.
Not exactly a perk or benefit!!!
Richardson is NOT a big surprise here. Bozo Obama made it more than clear that he intended to let the illegals pour into our country. What he didn't make more than clear is the he intends to provide health care to those illegal aliens.
This is going to get very ugly!! Apparently Bozo Obama doesn't remember the NATIONAL OUTCRY when the McCain/Kennedy amnesty bill was to be voted on!
Perhaps someone should remind him!

The illegal immigration issue appears to have gone asleep. Americans were scared into electing Barack Obama by the Democratic party. Economics beat John McCain, even though we have been in a recession since last year, interestingly the economic situation wasn't made known until just prior to the election. That sealed McCain's fate. Unfortunately John McCain also supported the McCain-Kennedy Immigration Reform Bill which shut down the switchboards in Washington DC. Immigration is a sleeping bomb just waiting to be re-ignited. The new administration can do just that, and if the American people come to the realization they've been bamboozled, yet one more time by the Democratic Party they'll be at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. with pitchforks, and torches. The dysfuntion of our government is becoming more and more apparent as the days go by with them handing out money like Halloween candy. All they need to do is re-open that cans of worms regarding immigration. |

Gov. Richardson's much vaunted record as Energy Sec. was concurrent with the Wen Ho Lee scandal.
Gov. Richardson's run for President was at best a ho-hum affair with a remarkable lack of quickness on his part and little energy. His selection now is his reward for the break with the Clinton's during the campaign that was so much the kiss on the cheek for Sen. Clinton in the primary garden night.
To his credit, he is not unworldly. He does enjoy a long tenure of association with the mechanisms of Government, legislative and executive and has a likable disposition that is necessary for one that must represent U.S. commercial interests around the shrinking pie globe.
Like another Commerce Sec., Ron Brown, Gov Richardson will have the shoeshine and the smile for the job that seems to come with the original Clinton camp followers.
