Bush Pardons 14, Commutes Two
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 6:49 PM
The Department of Justice just issued a release detailing the 14 pardons and two commutations President Bush has issued in the twilight of his presidency.

Both commutations were given for cocaine-related offenses. One of them was for John Edward Forte, who was a producer for the rap-group "The Fugees" and a rapper in his own right. In 2000, he was arrested for holding $1.4 million worth of liquid cocaine in his luggage at the Newark International Airport.

The pardons were for various marijuana offenses, income tax evasion, food stamp fraud and for violations of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

USA Today has published updated names HERE.

Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, two Border Agents imprisoned for shooting an illegal alien drug smuggler, are not on the list. The U.S. Attorney General's office said they were reviewing the two former Border Agent's cases last week. Their omission from the November 24 pardon list does not bode well for their chances of being pardoned by the outgoing President Bush.

President Bush has issued 171 pardons and eight commutations to date.

Please MAIL a letter to Bush TODAY!
This is what I sent:

November 25, 2008
The President
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20500

Please President Bush, do the merciful thing, pardon Ramos and Campean

Dear President Bush:
The imprisonment of Border Patrol officers Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean are an ugly chapter in your legacy, but there is still time to correct this outrage and return these men to their families.

While there may have been some justification in supporting your U.S. Attorney's prosecution of these men, now that the facts reveal that U.S. Attorney Sutton intentionally misled the jury by withholding critical evidence from the jury, you MUST PARDON THEM or explain to me why you think they still belong in jail.

Please sir,DO THE RIGHT THING!

President Bush, I am begging you, Pardon these men and let them go home to their wives and children for Christmas!

Many, many conservatives have stood by you and your administration- We ask now that you do this for us, free these men who wished only TO KEEP AMERICANS SAFE!!
Thank you.

Sincerely,

Bush: A** Hole
A** hole, a** hole, a** hole!!

Yes, you Jorge Bush!!

You pardon drug dealers and paper hangers and you don't pardon Ramos and Compean?? What are you thinking?? These two men dedicated their lives to protecting our border from the multitude of illegals transgressing our sovereignty and you let them rot in jail!!

You still have time left before you leave office. REDEEM YOURSELF AND PARDON THESE TWO BRAVE MEN!!

Border Patrol
Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean are not on the list, but should be on the list. Let us hope that the U.S. Attorney General's office will review the two former Border Agent's cases and take into consideration compassion, justice, and the morale of all Border Patrol Agents. How can there ever be enforcement of the border, if the guards are jailed and the law breakers go free?

What do you expect from Georgie boy? "Cocaine trafficking - fine out you go. Enjoy the sunshine." Protecting the border from the wholesale transpotation of its entire worthless peasant class directly into the heart of the U.S? - "Right this way, amigos, express lanes are open."

The only possible silver lining in any of his final awful days in office is that no time in memory has a worthless president been so summarily DISMIMSSED by America. Nobody cares what the clown has to say, no one has an ounce of respect for him, there isn't one newspaper article agonizing over his legacy: the legacy is in and its that of the worst President of the United States since maybe Pierce or Buchanan; without question the absolute worst of the 20th Century.

None of us are looking forward to Obama and his planned domestic thug army and how we're going to probably have to suit up and defeat it in open civil war, but NOBODY is unhappy to see George sitting around impotently these last few weeks, ignored and despised, waiting for the Mayflower Vans to get him out of town blessedly and forever.

Bush Pardons
That Bush is a fraud and a stupid, vain and pathetic man completely adrift from any moral foundations has been evident for years. What is surprising is that all of you posting here to show your anger at Bush are doing so in one of the main forums in America that has supported and continues to support this killer of the Republican party and the Conservative movement. You should be directing your anger at Townhall and the other institutions of the "center-right" including talk radio. Our side has become just like the Democrats: A third world structure with media elites, government drones and corporation leaders at the top and the rest of us complaining at the bottom. Until we become a mirror of the far left and constantly attack our own party from within then the rich, greedy, left-leaning access hounds like Hugh Hewitt will be running our greatly diminished movement.

Ramos and Compean
So glad to see the anger here over the treatment of Ramos and Compean.

Wake up President Bush. Do the right thing.

Commute the sentences of Ramos and Compean!!!

Johnny Sutton, your friend pursued them like they were murderers. Sutton granted immunity to a known drug runner to testify against our brave Border Patrol.

SHAME ON YOU PRESIDENT BUSH. SHAME. SHAME. SHAME.

No Presidential Library for Bush in Texas I say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pardo Border Agents
Send email to President Bush asking him to have mercy on the agents and their families. Apparently there are a lot of people in the Justice Dept. that think they are guilty. Pres. Bush basines his pardons on their reccommendations. Therefor asking for mercy is the best approach

I'm going to set off fireworks, even though I don't have much hope for his successor. It will be eight years too late, though, to see the end of this stupid, incompetent, illegal alien loving cad.

No, Ken
"However educated people know the housing and banking collasp was caused by Democrats."

No, uneducated people or worse.

I know that this is a big talking point on neocon talk radio and Fox, (Neil Cavuto being the exception) but this debacle was a bi-partisan one. Bush himself deserves a lot of credit with his push for minority home ownership. Surly you remember Sean, Rush and the other professional liars telling their listeners that under Bush more people owned houses in US history. I remember and I also remember scoffing at this idea, knowing that they didn't own anything until they possessed the title.
Tessa writes: Tuesday, November, 25, 2008 8:48 AM
Amen to all...
I agree with all of you on this subject...if Bush can pardon a drug dealer/rapper but not those that protect our borders - well shame on him. I was going to go and give him a proper salute and respectful farewell on 1/20/09 but I don't think I want to do that any more.

Yes many people who watch CNN and MSNBC believe Bush destroyed the economy.

Just wonderin'
Will Bush pardon himself for destroying our economy? For ruining our international reputation? For the deaths of 4,024 of our soldiers in a war of choice that has made us less safe?

Just wonderin'

I've tried...
to be a GWB supporter........
and mostly have been......
but if he pardons drug dealers yet won't pardon 2 Border Patrol agents who shot a drug dealer in the a*s*s, well then he is a scumbag of the first order........
he ought to pardon Compean and Ramos.....
then put that sack-o-s*h*i*t Johnny Sutton, the Federal prosecutor who wronged these guys, in jail.....
LB writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 10:29 PM
Are you serious?
Bush handpicked one of his faves to be the U.S. Attorney who relentlessly pursued, prosecuted and persecuted Ramos and Compean. You think he now is going to pardon them or commute their sentences? Sadly, it appears that he does not care that the children of these men will grow up without their fathers because they did not correctly report their attempt to keep an illegal drug dealer out of the U.S.

Bush has a religious fixation on making sure illegal, Mexican immigrant activity is encouraged, praised and rewarded. I guess it's like he told us during the amnesty debate-he's lived in Texas for a long time and so he appreciates how wonderful the Mexican people really are, unlike the rest of us flaming racists. Therefore, Mexicans should be allowed to come into the U.S. at will, bringing whatever drugs and breaking whatever laws they need to. Does anyone else see the irony in how Bush is thought to have been so stingy with pardons because he is Mr. Law and Order?
CapeConservative writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 9:49 PM
Sure - PARDON a drug dealer caught
with over $1 million - and IGNORE our Border Patrol Agents????????????????????????????????

I voted for George Bush both in 2000 and 2004 and have been very disappointed as he seems to have left any conservative values behind.

To think that AMERICA's justice department gave the drug dealer who was involved in this incident a 'by' and convicted two men who were performing a job I sure wouldn't want, is more than DISGUSTING!

I am ashamed of how far our country has strayed from its founding concepts into the world of political correctness...and fear how much further it will go before we collapse completely.

President Bush, I beg of you to pardon these two men. It is the honorable thing to do and it is time to stand up for your own countrymen and civil servants - NOT for a Mexican drug dealer who laughed his way back into many more forays across our border!
Alleycat writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 8:48 PM
It's true...
To not pardon Ramos and Compean, really IS shameful.

I voted for Bush twice and am not sorry to see him go.

I am just sorry as to who his successor is.

I am already ashamed of him. He will do nothing for them. Bush only has compassion for the guest workers and their employers.
Ex-tex writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 7:25 PM
If George Bush does not pardon...
Ramos and Campean, then he is a fraud. He would show himself to have no courage, no honor, no concept of duty or compassion.

I WILL BE ASHAMED OF HIM.
