Americans Want to Drill, Drill, Drill
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 8:42 AM
A new Rasmussen polling report  finds 67 percent of Americans support drilling off the coasts of Florida, California and other states. Only 18 percent disagreed and 15 percent were undecided.

The poll also finds 64 percent of Americans believe drilling will bring down the price of gasoline.

This should come as welcome news to John McCain who will be making a formal call for increasing energy exploration off our coastlines, by way of lifting existing oil moratoriums, in a Texas speech late this afternoon.

He's also got a new energy ad up, touting how he's "stood up" to President Bush on global warming.

Here's the script.

ANNCR: John McCain stood up to the President and sounded the alarm on global warming … five years ago.

Today, he has a realistic plan that will curb greenhouse gas emissions.

A plan that will help grow our economy and protect our environment.

Reform. Prosperity. Peace. John McCain.

JOHN MCCAIN: I’m John McCain and I approve this message.

Yes We Can Be Like Pooh Bear
Obama's foriegn policy will be shaped by...Winnie the Pooh.

Richard Danzig, who served as Navy Secretary under President Clinton and is tipped to become National Security Adviser in an Obama White House, told a major foreign policy conference in Washington that the future of US strategy in the war on terrorism should follow a lesson from the pages of Winnie the Pooh, which can be shortened to: if it is causing you too much pain, try something else.

Mr Danzig told the Centre for New American Security: “Winnie the Pooh seems to me to be a fundamental text on national security.”

He spelt out how American troops, spies and anti-terrorist officials could learn key lessons by understanding the desire of terrorists to emulate superheroes like Luke Skywalker, and the lust for violence of violent football fans.

(Lest anyone suspect that the Telegraph is exaggerating Danzig's role in the campaign, note Obama called Danzig "one of our key foreign policy advisers" in November 2007.)

This is a perfect opportunity for McCain to hold up David Petraeus' U.S. Army/Marine Corps Counterinsurgency Field Manual as better summer reading for Barack. http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MjliOWYxODE 2Mjg4Mjk5ZWQ5MmI1Njk1YTIzM2U4NGQ=

Anyone running for re-election is getting it from voters from both barrels and Democrats are no different from us ex-Republicans. THAT is why nose-holding doesn't work. Those of us who will vote on our principles are doing the work that you Quislings won't do.

Drill ..Global Warming??
On the up side drilling -good. But on Global Warming I feel like he just slapped my conservative face. I'm gonna have to hold my nose awfully hard.

Drill in US NOW! www.drill4oil.us
There is no rational or environmentally truthful reason not to drill for oil in Alaska and off the coasts of the US. The only oppostion is from environmentalist zealots who won’t accept the truth. http://www.drill4oil.us
