If your not a believer in capitalism then what are you a believer in? Government takeover of all your assets and redistribution to idiots that cant make the correct decisions in life. JK
=================
Amen -- only ignoramuses can believe that capitalism which made this country the richest and greatest power on earth has suddenly failed and government imposed fascism/communism will fix it.
You know after all it worked so well for the USSR and Cuba etc .... (Not to Eugene - that was sarcasm)
My Lord even China recognizes the merits of capitalism.
These people clearly don't know history. And those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.
Think things are bad now Ax-Eugene? Just wait ... Fascists don't care about the worker - you will be a slave to the elite. It will be a hundred times worse than under capitalism. |
C-W-T-Ax-E- You know what, I get tired of hearing you pretend millionaires talk about your supposed success, so it's okay to screw over working folks at every oppurtunity, because, hey, they aren't enterpenuers, so screw the wage slaves.
Jo: I don't pretend, I CHOSE to learn, I CHOSE to take *calculated* risk. You on the other hand wallow in self pity, and cry over your bad decisions. Anyone can be successful if they want to be. They just have to change their mind set - I am living proof.
C-W-T-Ax-E -- What happened in November was a wage slave revolt. Take it as a blessing, it could have been a lot worse, and if you don't clean up your act, the next revolt will be.
Jo: And what happened April 15th was a revolt against wimpy whiners who expect everyone to pay for them. It was a revolt to stop the clueless follower idiots who voted in a fascist government. I find it ironic that the party opposed to the second amendment, (that live in cities/states that make firearm ownership difficult) -- think they have the upper hand.
Gosh I love FL gun laws. Excuse me while I go practice.
C-W-T-Ax-E- Actually, the Democrats only took power in this state in 2002, and even Republicans were glad to see George Ryan go. You know, George Ryan, the guy who collected bribes from unqualified truckers and let a family of six get burned alive.
Jo: Snap shot to fit you ideology?? There is corruption in both parties - the very reason there was so much support at the Tea Parties. By FAR democrats have done more damage in Chicago politics, this is reality. Wasn't it Rod Blagojevich who took over after Ryan??
Ever notice the states that have the worse economic down turns have been democratically held the majority of the time? MI, IL, CA, NY etc... the evidence is all around you.
C-W-T-Ax-E -- I don't have every day to log onto Ameritrade and watch the markets and sniff the air for market trends.
Jo: But I'd bet you have time to go out with friends or watch any of the many mindless TV shows or movies Hollywood puts out. We all make choices - you can choose to learn more in your off time, or you can choose not to.
C-W-T-Ax-E -- I would LOOOOOOOOVE to be on the jury when some AIG whiner tries to get his bonus back.
Heck, I think the AIG guys should be committing ritual suicide, not whining about their bonuses.
Jo: You wish death on them? Nice -- no wonder your karma is all screwed up. The more you wish evil on others the more you'll receive. BTW you'd never make it on jury - you have no regard for rule of law. |
C-W-T-Ax-E- Or we can just have a national pension fund that GARUNTEES (sic)you a pension, period. No having to wonder if your investments are run by crook or merely incompetents.
Jo: In *this* country we are free, and with freedom there is risk. You apparently want government to be your daddy and take care of you.
Ben Franklin famously said: He who would trades liberty for temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security.
Don't you realize the more power you give government over your daily life, the more they enslave you? If you give government the power to dictate funds for your retirement - you also give them the power to take those funds away. It's happening already - look at SS - you and I will likely not receive SS (that we PAID in!) -- unless government dictates higher tax on our kids to provide it. This program is a HUGE failure, yet you want to give government more power??

Jo: While I do feel sorry you've lost so much - no one forced you to invest your money in a 401K.
Me- Then why does management push it? I resisted the 401K for two years at my last soul-sucking job, but the managers kept hitting me to sign up.
Jo: And you could have said no. No one forced you. The problem with many Americans today is the refusal to take responsibility for their OWN decisions. Reality is harsh - we all make mistakes, hind-sight you wouldn't have listened to the managers, and it is likely they wouldn't have pushed the program either. No one thought this could happen with so much capital flowing in to 401K's.
BTW - stock market investment earnings are illusion, so is banking, until cashed in. Unless you own tangible assets - you are at risk. This is why I bought RE. This is why so many are buying gold. Since the creation of fiat currency - it wasn't a question of "if" it would fail, but a question of "when" it would fail. |
C-W-T-Ax-E -- I want to see these CEO's dragged in front of kangaroo courts, with juries of people who had their jobs shipped to China, and put in a prison cell with Bubba the Serial Killer. To me, that's justice.
Jo: First off we are a nation of law. We don't do "kangaroo" courts. This is mob mentality, based on irrational emotional wealth envy. Second, the media demonized some CEO's. I'm not saying there aren't some greedy SOB's, but one thing I know about the news is they usually get the story wrong. CEO's are paid on their *value* - like Hollywood - if Brad Pitt is bringing in the bucks he is of more *value* and will get paid more than say Kevin Bacon. CEO pay isn't the root of the financial mess - bad regulation was.
Jo: I disagree -- it was BAD regulation geared toward "fairness and equality" not lack of regulation.
C-W-T-Ax-E - you can say that crap all day, but it doesn't make it true.
Sorry but it is true. Carter created the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) in 1977 creating legislation forcing banks to loan to high risk borrowers, Clinton modified it in the 90's in the name of "fairness and equality" - this is the SAD truth. Look up the legislation. It was BAD regulation - not lack of.

Glad you like the name, But while video games are a good training aid for some tactical situations, they have proven not to be as exciting and you also do not recieve the adrenalin rush that you get when your enemy recieves the just penalty they deserve. While I could post a copy of my DD-214 and a present contract with a certain private security firm to you, I really don't think you deserve, nor have the need to know. Now as to your faux catastrophic failure you were speaking of, I suppose the governmental interference in how banks should offer Loans had nothing to do with the problem, did they? If your not a believer in capitalism then what are you a believer in? Government takeover of all your assets and redistribution to idiots that cant make the correct decisions in life. I think I will decide where my money goes, Not the government or you, that from the sounds of your liking of my screen name, to the enemies and unproductive members of the US citizens. |
I bet the closet you get to killing a Jihadi is a video game...
Please, we are looking at the biggest catostrophic failure of capitalism since the Great Depression. Yet oddly, the capitalists who created the problem want to act like they did nothing wrong and want to get back to business as usual as soon as possible. |

You just prove over and over , that you have no idea WTF your talking about. there are many flights to your dreamland, why don't you take one. |

Jo - Yet you have the SAME government just larger now from IL, in the white house. At the state level you have a much better chance of voting them OUT. BTW - democrats have been in charge of your state for quite some time - I pray this lesson has not gone unnoticed.
Me- Actually, the Democrats only took power in this state in 2002, and even Republicans were glad to see George Ryan go. You know, George Ryan, the guy who collected bribes from unqualified truckers and let a family of six get burned alive.
Jo- No it didn't. I just disagree with you on the reasoning for it. Not all business is huge corporations - most jobs are created by small business. And many of those business' do not make millions in bonuses. It has been big news over a small amount relative to what the nation does in GDP.
Oh and BTW one can become self-made if they put the time and effort into it. I was poor - now I'm not, some college, - no degrees - self educated. Truth is most rich are self-made, it is not handed to them.
Me- You know what, I get tired of hearing you pretend millionaires talk about your supposed success, so it's okay to screw over working folks at every oppurtunity, because, hey, they aren't enterpenuers, so screw the wage slaves.

Jo - Buyer beware. I know that sounds harsh but it is not wise to trust *anyone* these days - look at the poor slobs who trusted Maddoff. Better to do due diligence and invest on your own. I did my homework on a daily basis (Ameritrade) and it cued me into when the market was going to take a turn.
Me- Or we can just have a national pension fund that GARUNTEES you a pension, period. No having to wonder if your investments are run by crook or merely incompetents.
I don't have every day to log onto Ameritrade and watch the markets and sniff the air for market trends.
Jo- Even if it targets "certain groups" for punitive damages and its against the law? Look, the government can tax *everyone* the same rate in a certain tax bracket - but they can't single out people such as AIG bonuses and not tax the Fannie and Freddie bonuses. Understand?
Me- Well, they seem to think they can, and I would LOOOOOOOOVE to be on the jury when some AIG whiner tries to get his bonus back.
Heck, I think the AIG guys should be committing ritual suicide, not whining about their bonuses.

Jo: We are not talking about taxation - we are talking about limits on income. It is not the same. And frankly limiting income is stupid - less income; less tax collected.
Anyhow, The rule of law requires that like people be treated alike and that people know what the law is so that they can plan their lives in accord with the law. In this case, a law is being passed to impose taxes on a particular, politically unpopular group. That is a tyrannical abuse of Congress’s powers.
Me- And I have no problem with that. Personally, I want to see these CEO's dragged in front of kangaroo courts, with juries of people who had their jobs shipped to China, and put in a prison cell with Bubba the Serial Killer. To me, that's justice.
Jo:I agree both parties have blame - I disagree republicans have more. In fact democrats for the last 100 years have been in power about 80% of the time. They have created all sorts of social programs - to get votes. Problem is social programs have kept the poor - poor. And enabled the rich to become rich.
Me- That's not true. Between 1908 and 2008, the GOP held the Presidency for 52 out of those 100 years. They dominated Congress from 1908 until 1930, against from 1942 to 1954, and 1994 to 2006. That's more than half the time in charge. Further, the damage was not done over 100 years. Most of the damage was done in the last 30, where the GOP dominated the presidency for 20 and Congress for 14-20 years.
Jo: I disagree -- it was BAD regulation geared toward "fairness and equality" not lack of regulation.
Me- you can say that crap all day, but it doesn't make it true.
Jo: While I do feel sorry you've lost so much - no one forced you to invest your money in a 401K.

7- Sorry, living in Illinois, where we've sent four governors to prison and are about to send a fifth one, the lst thing I want to do is give the corrupt state government any more power.
Yet you have the SAME government just larger now from IL, in the white house. At the state level you have a much better chance of voting them OUT. BTW - democrats have been in charge of your state for quite some time - I pray this lesson has not gone unnoticed.
8- My point about wealth disparity went right over your head, didn't it?
No it didn't. I just disagree with you on the reasoning for it. Not all business is huge corporations - most jobs are created by small business. And many of those business' do not make millions in bonuses. It has been big news over a small amount relative to what the nation does in GDP.

5- I'm glad you could take your funds out. I wasn't allowed to with my 401K. You see, that's how the scam works, these greedy jerks get us all to give up our union wages and our rights as workers, but tell us if we get into this 401K thing, we all get to join in the exploitation...oh, wait, they cash out, we're left holding the bag of worthless stocks...
Buyer beware. I know that sounds harsh but it is not wise to trust *anyone* these days - look at the poor slobs who trusted Maddoff. Better to do due diligence and invest on your own. I did my homework on a daily basis (Ameritrade) and it cued me into when the market was going to take a turn.
6- I have no problem with capping athlete and movie star pay...

Response to Jo... 1) While there is nothing in the constitution for wage caps, there is nothing against them either, and the 16th Amendment gives the Federal government to tax incomes. So anything above $1,000,000 a year is taxed at 100% seems reasonable to me. At least until these people start behaving better.
Jo: We are not talking about taxation - we are talking about limits on income. It is not the same. And frankly limiting income is stupid - less income; less tax collected.

2) We've been digging ourselves into this hole for years, and the GOP has had the levers for most of that time... I think the Dems deserve their share of the blame, but the GOP deserves more...
Jo:I agree both parties have blame - I disagree republicans have more. In fact democrats for the last 100 years have been in power about 80% of the time. Jo: I disagree -- it was BAD regulation geared toward "fairness and equality" not lack of regulation.
4) I have no problem when you take risks with your own money. I have a big problem when you take risks with mine. 401K membership is practically co-ersive.
Jo: While I do feel sorry you've lost so much - no one forced you to invest your money in a 401K. |

3) Sorry, it was the lack of regulation and enforcement that led to this mess, not too much of it. And the thing is that we didn't learn from history. THis kind of lax regulation is what lead to the 1929 crash. After that, they created all these agencies to keep it from happening again, and we haven't had a problem, until the GOP started loosening the rules. Then we had the S&L Crisis of the 80's and the current mess.
4) I have no problem when you take risks with your own money. I have a big problem when you take risks with mine. 401K membership is practically co-ersive. I picked the safest stocks I could because I didn't trust it and made the minimum contributions... I've still lost over half my investment... I'd have been better off spending it on lottery tickets. |

C-W-T-Ax-E: You see, here's the problem. In history, whenever a country has become comprised of just the very rich and the very poor, usually, the poor get sick of it and kill the rich. A healthy middle class actually prevents that kind of rocking the boat. Past captialists like Henry Ford understood this, but the current batch doesn't seem to. Hence the sinkhole we are in now.
Agreed! The government is TOO big - reduce government agencies like department of education, social security, medicare/medicaid, IRS, etc... leaving it up to the states to collect for the federal government (keeping the feds in check by the states - 50 representative; dictating to the federal government, not the federal government; dictating to 50 states), this alone would save BILLIONS in tax dollars - not to mention stop the skimming at the state to federal level. |
C-W-T-Ax-E- I'd say anyone who defines his happiness as earning more money than he can possibly spend in his lifetime at the expense of destroying middle class families and ultimately the country has a sucking black spot in his soul that will never be filled.
Jo: You may be right, however in a *FREE* country they have the right to the pursuit of their own personal happiness. And we have no right to infringe on these rights with pay caps. Besides where do we draw the line? Do we cap athletes?, Hollywood pay? Your/my pay? Governments job is the general welfare of the people, not becoming the welfare general. BTW - the states should be in control of their perspective companies not the federal government.
C-W-T-Ax-E -- The thing is that Corporations are public trusts. They operate under government franchise with a slew of laws to protect their interests- patent laws, trademark laws, etc. That's fine. But when their behavior becomes destructive, then the government needs to step in.
Jo: The *individual* state governments ought to with a centralized data source, not the feds. As our founding intended. I could go into detail, but I haven't time tonight.

Me- Or we slap a 500% tariff on it if it isn't made here. Same effect.
Jo: See common ground - I'm not against reasonable tariffs. In fact I think the combination of tariffs AND low corporate taxation could be the way. After all corporations don't pay tax anyhow - they just pass it on to the consumer. We must be competitive - places like Ireland, for example, at 11% have a huge influx of new business.
Me- So what you are saying is that you are willing to let corrupt CEO's like Ken Lay rip you off in the name of "Freedom". I just looked at my 401K from my last job, it's lost 30-50% in the last year. Yeah, those guys need a raise.
Jo: You are missing the broader point. In *America* we do not stop people from growing and risk taking. If we did we'd look like socialist nations who are gimping along such as Russia, Cuba, look at all of Europe -- even China is dabbling in capitalism now. The savvy investors survive. I had funds in the market and I took them out before the crash. It is now invested in RE - which always comes back after all they don't make land anymore. Plus it's tangible. |
C-W-T-Ax-E- Sweet Evil Jesus, you can't possibly be this stupid. Companies are going overseas because the government isn't protecting our workers with tariffs and excises, which is what a smart government does. Free trade means you always have some thirdworld craphole that people don't enjoy the rights you do undercutting you.
Jo: Evil Jesus? Typical lefty vile insult. What is stupid is that you think it's an entirely one political side ideological problem. It isn't one or the other - it's a little of both. Nonetheless - third world crap hole competition or not, OUR form of government does not provide law for wage caps. In fact through history it has been avidly against it, which made this country great. Or perhaps you do not believe in our constitutional republic?
C-W-T-AX-E: If what you say was true, we had 8 years of George W. Stupid giving Corporate America everything it asked for. Guess what, we now have the worst economy since the Great Depression.
Jo: Oh now who's being stupid!? He was only one man -- *congress* makes the law and *congress* took over in 2006 - till that point we had been GROWING the economy. Plus, if you are intellectually honest you'll admit, there were many elements that contributed to this mess. Union GREED, political GREED, BAD regulation (note not *lack* of), and the biggest catalyst of all - lending in the name of "fairness and equality" to those who could not pay back their loans. This legislation - produced by democrats opened the door for bankers to make bad loans and sell them to the bundlers.

Jo- Put yourself as CEO of your own company - would you want the government to run it and cap your earnings? The American dream is: pursuit of happiness - if making billions a year it[sic] that happiness - who are you or I to put a cap on it? Where is that law in the Constitution?
Me- I'd say anyone who defines his happiness as earning more money than he can possibly spend in his lifetime at the expense of destroying middle class families and ultimately the country has a sucking black spot in his soul that will never be filled.

Jo- "Tell me, do you think forcing CEO's to pay you during a down turn will help that company or economy grow? of course not - more likely make both fail. Just as we are seeing now. Unions, wage hikes, and excessive taxation/regulation by *government* have chased business overseas. Just like you and I they shop for the best price."

Jo-The government is the problem -- not the free market. Make conditions in the US appealing to business and you'll see a increase in companies - which leads to a increase in jobs, leads to a demand for qualified workers, this creates competition for the best workers -- viola' the pay increases.
Me- Or we slap a 500% tariff on it if it isn't made here. Same effect. The gag is that these corporations want us as consumers, just not workers if we actually insist on being paid and treated decently.
Jo-BTW - I'm not saying government doesn't play a role, SEC safety/health regulations, perhaps legislation for splitting "too big to fail" companies up to smaller ones, etc... I'm saying they shouldn't play a role in determining wealth limits or how to run business.
Me- So what you are saying is that you are willing to let corrupt CEO's like Ken Lay rip you off in the name of "Freedom". I just looked at my 401K from my last job, it's lost 30-50% in the last year. Yeah, those guys need a raise.

Jo- Question for Lilly & Liberals Would you support wage caps on your own pay?
C-W-Ax-E - Funny you should mention that. The gag is that for most of us, we are losing ground on pay.
Whenever their (sic) is a downturn, CEO's fire long term employees to hire ones willing to work cheaper.
========================

Me- Funny you should mention that. The gag is that for most of us, we are losing ground on pay.
Whenever their is a downturn, CEO's fire long term employees to hire ones willing to work cheaper. They put caps on hours, on overtime, cut back on benefits, abuse the notion of temporary help.
Right now, I'm working on a "Temp to Hire" job. It was pitched to me as a 90 day probationary period after which I would be hired permanently and given an raise.
Well, it's day 270 of that 90 day period. They've cut all overtime, and I am making about 75% of what I made at my previous job, where I was let go even though they retained a gal whose only qualification was her dad was friends with a national manager.
So, yeah, I'm having a REALLLLLY hard time working up sympathy for the CEO's who got us into this mess maybe getting pay caps. I'd be more for CEO's getting a nice jail cell with Bubba the Serial Killer.

"It is not the duty of the government to put the interests of other nations before our own."
Before our own? No. But oftentimes making the interests of other nations a priority serves our own. The most powerful, influential democracy in the world should never have to go to war almost alone.
"As the lone superpower, it is good to have our enemies fear us."
I don't think they do. It's hard to put fear into a suicide bomber, and despite all our rhetoric, we still have yet to come up with Osama himself.
"You appear to have a problem with the projection of American power and the use of our military to protect our citizens."
I don't think anyone has issues with using our military to protect our citizenry - which, incidentally, Somalia was nowhere close to an example of at the time, but in light of current events provides a fantastic example of why destabilized regions shouldn't be ignored just because they have no immediate, tangible value - but there's a legitimate debate about the projection of American power. Some would argue that it has the counter-intuitive effect of making us less secure, and while I'm not necessarily in that camp, I can see the point.
"The fact that do not approve of these two things tells me that you do not love American. We do, and that is why we were out in force at tea parties."
I will add national defense to the ever-growing list of reasons for the tea parties, then. |

A- First of all, the government decided not to fund embryonic stem cell research because of a moral dilemma. Many Americans have a problem with the abortion industry supplying aborted fetuses to research labs.
Me- Which wasn't being done. Stem Cells were coming from fertility clinics, embryoes that had been created but were never going to be used because their donors either got their child or gave up.
A- Religious ideology[sic] has not nudged science out, individuals with a moral code do not want to take part in this attack on the sanctity of life, and millions of Americans do not want to pay for it.
Me- Well, lots of Americans didn't want to pay for the war. The fact is that Bush threw a bone to the religious nutters because he couldn't possibly get them what they really wanted.
A-This kind of research has not been outlawed, the government simply did not fund it. Private funding stepped in. That is called the free market. As it turns out, adult stem cells are a better bet. This might not have been discovered if the government had kept funding embryonic stem cell. This is called the free market. You appear to have a problem with that.
Me- The problem with that model is that the private sector might not want to step in. Big Pharma makes BILLIONS selling us pills for chronic diseases, why would they want cures to them. |
A- Who is depriving unions of any of these things? Unions have declined in membership over the years. People can join unions voluntarily. If they have not joined unions, perhaps they do not see a benefit. That's called individual liberty. And if you think the "front office" is laughing at union members, you really are naive. The unions are a pain in the a** to deal with.
Me- the differnce is since 1980, when Reagan fired PACTO, there's been a shift from workers to employers, and if anyone killed the goose, it was the CEO's. Yeah, they've cut salaries and benefits, but now they can't sell their products, because no one can afford them.
Unions created the middle class in this country. I'm sure that front offices do find Unions a pain. It means they have to actually justify their decisions. Most of the managers I've worked for in the last 20 years have made horrid decisions (some fatal to their companies). Maybe if they had unions saying "Wait a minute", they'd have made better ones.

"Lilly, this is called freedom to contract. If the parties, private citizens running a private business, agree to pay the CEO a large salary, and you don't approve, you can choose to not do business with them, or as a stockholder vote against the board of directors or bring a stockholder lawsuit. Why should the government uses its threat of force to decide who gets paid what? How is that liberty?"
Me- HOrsepucky! The fact is that you put the kids in charge of the cookie jar, and you wonder why all the cookies are gone! European and Japanese companies don't pay their CEO's obscene salaries for looting their companies. (Like the Home Depot CEO who got a eight figure salary buyout as his company lost money.) Heck, they even insist on getting their bonuses after the government bails them out!
A- The government has long used the tax code as a system of carrots and sticks. If the government chooses to give tax breaks to certain businesses (which I do not approve of), the business is still free to try to make a buck. The government did not give tax breaks IN ORDER FOR jobs to be sent overseas, and I challenge you to show proof of that assertion. But, if wages are too high in America, perhaps you should ask why? How much government interference makes it so? Crushing taxes, crushing regulation, interference in the markets? Not to mention how the unions killed their own goose.
Me- Actually, a very smart capitalist, Henry FOrd, once said, "If my employees can't afford to buy my products, I don't have a business."
Let's take Auto WOrkers. An Auto WOrker makes $28.00 an hour. That works out to about $56,000 a year. This to you is an outrageous salary, but a CEO making $60,000,000, even as his company loses money, is okay by you? Do you see where it's messed up, guy?

RomanLion-as far as Koresh, remember Koresh was an adult, as were the people who followed his teachings (for whatever reason they felt they had.) But the INNOCENT children holed up inside with them had harmed no one. Since when does our government allow the MURDER of innocent children? OH YEAH, SINCE ABORTION BECAME LEGAL!! And the loony lefts' President is THE most liberal supporter of that crime against humanity in the history of the United States Government."
Me- There have been three investigations of Waco, and all three found the Davidians committed mass suicide.
Ronna- Had the government been able to do anything right they would have gotten all those people out of there and tried Koresh for any crimes he may have been found guilty of, instead of acting like the Gestapo and incinerating all those people because of their own failures to properly effect a more desirable outcome for all involved. Reno's pathetic part in it showed her complete ineptness, but that goes with the territory in any form of government-ran operations in today's world in America.
Me- Reno relied on the FBI professionals who had been handling this situation before she came on site. The ATF had been investigating the Davidians for years. If there was a problem, the FBI treated it like a hostage situation when it wasn't. Everyone in there was in their voluntarily.
Where I do fault Clinton and Reno was that instead of doing a complete invesigation and firing those involved (which they didn't do) they went into damage control mode.

As for you last point about the USA being belligerent: America protects her own interests just like all other nations. The constitutional duty of our federal government is to provide for the common defense (It's in the constitution, you should try reading it). It is not the duty of the government to put the interests of other nations before our own. We were attacked on 9-11 and 3,000 Americans died. Before that, Osama had declared war on American and our Democratic president studiously ignored it. Americans died on the USS Cole, at our two African embassies, etc. The fact that Bush went after the perpetrators WITH THE BLESSING OF CONGRESS is what he needed to do. As the lone superpower, it is good to have our enemies fear us. After all, Osama told his followers that America could be attacked before it was weak after he watched the way Clinton made us bug out of Somalia before we could avenge the troops that were dragged naked through the streets. You appear to have a problem with the projection of American power and the use of our military to protect our citizens. There are two common threads in your screed: that personal liberty is bad, and national defense is bad. These are two of the reasons the Founding Fathers created our government. The fact that do not approve of these two things tells me that you do not love American. We do, and that is why we were out in force at tea parties. |

Would you support wage caps on your own pay? |
"3) Workers being deprived of union protection of their workplace safety, their wages, their hours, their job security, and their pensions---while the front office grows ever richer and laughs at the rank & file."
Who is depriving unions of any of these things? Unions have declined in membership over the years. People can join unions voluntarily. If they have not joined unions, perhaps they do not see a benefit. That's called individual liberty. And if you think the "front office" is laughing at union members, you really are naive. The unions are a pain in the a** to deal with.
"4) Religious ideology nudging science out of research labs and hospitals."
First of all, the government decided not to fund embryonic stem cell research because of a moral dilemma. Many Americans have a problem with the abortion industry supplying aborted fetuses to research labs. Religious ideology[sic] has not nudged science out, individuals with a moral code do not want to take part in this attack on the sanctity of life, and millions of Americans do not want to pay for it. This kind of research has not been outlawed, the government simply did not fund it. Private funding stepped in. That is called the free market. As it turns out, adult stem cells are a better bet. This might not have been discovered if the government had kept funding embryonic stem cell. This is called the free market. You appear to have a problem with that. I guess you prefer a different ideology push out science as regards "global warming". That is not science, it is pure ideology! Al Gore a scientific expert? Please! |

I don't know where to begin.....we didn't protest the war because we weren't against it. The Iraqi's are thankful they no longer have a genocidal dictator and as for wmd's, I am not sure anyone is 100% positive there were not any. As for the VA hospitals, many did not have a problem and Walter Reed's problems were exposed and fixed. I don't think conservatives and/or republicans , who have great respect for our soldiers and veterans, supported conditions at Walter Reed. By the way, it was Clinton who reduced the military to food stamp recipients and Bush who improved their standard of living. The funding of the war, well there is nothing incorrect about separating the funding request from the budget as Bush did especially since in was not ongoing and oddly enough after criticizing the Bush administration for doing this, I see Obama has asked for funding this week. Most important I think is conservatives protest things we believe in not things moveon.org and the Party tell us to. |
The Silent Majority is back and is not so silent. No matter how much critics try to diminish their impact, the politicians in Washington and in state capitals around the country know what happened and about the thousands upon thousands who peacefully turned out to exercise their freedom of speech and right to protest.
These were not just tax protests but concern about the expansion of government into our lives, about spending money we don't have and which our grandchildren will pay. The impact will result in Obama having to struggle to get any more money. |
Point by point: "1) CEOs making 450 times the wage of the average worker, astronomically more than in any other industrialized nation, and getting huge bonuses whether they do a good job or a lousy one.
Lilly, this is called freedom to contract. If the parties, private citizens running a private business, agree to pay the CEO a large salary, and you don't approve, you can choose to not do business with them, or as a stockholder vote against the board of directors or bring a stockholder lawsuit. Why should the government uses its threat of force to decide who gets paid what? How is that liberty?
"2) Business getting tax breaks for sending American jobs overseas."
The government has long used the tax code as a system of carrots and sticks.

By all means, let's have that discussion regarding the 3/5ths compromise in the Constitution. |
I was at the tea party in Ft. Myers, Fl yesterday and it was a great time. There were no disruptors, just lots of regular Americans there to tell the government that the spending has to stop. I particularly enjoyed the sign over the concession stand: Pulled pork, $5.00' Congressional pork: $4,850,752,000.00
The signs were very clever (including mine which people admired). There were veterans, families with young children, retirees, and everything in between. In other words, a lot of right wing extremists. Many people commented on Napolitano's report and were scornful. Several of us had to leave early to get to bible study. Just more evidence of right wing extremism?
There was a flyover of vintage WWII airplanes, and the Town Cryer rode in on a horse wearing Revere like costume and read a proclamation before the three giant tea bags were ceremoniously dipped in the Caloosahatchee River. I was proud to be there. Susan Rogeson fevered attack on the protesters is just one example of how rattled the liberals are by all this, and one has to wonder, why are they so nervous? Because we are silent no longer? Well, get used to, I think we are just getting started. I look forward to July 4th! |
I attended Pittsburgh's Tea Party and PLENTY of people brought their children to teach them the true meaning of practicing their 1st Amendment Rights. My son is but a year old, but had it not been for the rain, he would have been there. My mother watches him during the day and wanted to attend, but rain kept them home (I, being a nice daughter, went on my lunch break and took videos for my mom because the local news certainly did not show up!)
No one was hiding behind their children. As Bill O'Reilly would say, kids are Americans too and if they are going to inherit this country, they should be allowed to have a voice and learn what is going on. Children are very perceptive. They may not understand all of the details, but most have a great understanding of what is right and what is wrong. They are pure and they sense fairness more than adults do.
This reporter is dispicable. That man was attempting to make a point and she completely flew off the handle for her own agenda.
THE PEOPLE WILL BE HEARD!
My blog has video and pics from Pittsburgh's Tea Party. |
These people at the tea parties acted responsibly and respectfully. If there had been one hint of violence CNN and MSMBC would have been all over this story. For all you libs that are laughing remember this is just the start the next election is in 2010. That will give these people plenty of time to get bigger and stronger. As time goes on and people realize that there will be no other way to pay for this big spending folly that this government is on than to raise taxes on everything. Perhaps you libs are buying into this 95% getting tax breaks will soon realize you have been dupped. California and New York are great examples. Both states are very liberal and have lots of illegals to support. Take a look at the new taxes they will be paying. The tea party following is just getting started. Hold on to your hats libs true Americans are about to be heard. |

I voted Republican in every election since 1980 (including last year, when I voted for McCain.) The fact the GOP is losing people like me is your problem...
The reality is that the GOP has made this finacial mess by giving corporate America everything it asked for, and allowing it to dismantle the middle class in this country. Now a few corporations are telling you that the bad old 'gummit is your problem, not the fact that they sent your good paying job off to China or India.
But keep dancing on the string, 'lil puppet. |

"Didn't you see/hear the report where Obama's answer to Janet Reno (see WACO) Janet Napolitan stands by her SUMMARY of a classified paper indicting all patriotic Americans as Right Wing Extremists if they attend these rallies; or exercise their God Given rights under the Constitution?"
Me- I thought that your wingnuts said that the people should unquestionally support the president- even one who was appointed by the courts in acts of judicial activism.
And are you seriously going to go out here and try to defend David Koresh, a guy who was a child molestor and cop-killer? |
Such bad language. That isn't very "Christian" of you....
What has 100 legs and 25 teeth?
The front row in Tea party.
Okay, this is pretty scary. These are some angry people. I'm wondering how long its going to take one of these idiots to commit some horrid act of violence.
Besides this guy claiming Lincoln was against Taxes (actually, Lincoln raised taxes to pay for the Civil War), the fact is the majority of us aren't getting a tax increase. I think one is probably inevitable, but Obama has put restarting the economy above fixing the other problems. |
she is to deliver the news for a National News Organization... Ha Ha-OMGOSH, what a total disgrace and joke this so-called unbiased reporter of the news is. CNN, NBC, MSNBC and the NY-TIMES going BK, ratings and viewership in the tank more and more every month...
You would think that they would try to at least just a little look un-biased. She's really lost it with like how dare a citizen say anything negative about Obama, but they did nothing but bash Bush relentlessly for 8 years with every dirty word they could come up with. She is a liar and a biased hypocrite... |

"/are you braindead or what? Didn't you see/hear the report where Obama's answer to Janet Reno (see WACO) Janet Napolitan stands by her SUMMARY of a classified paper indicting all patriotic Americans as Right Wing Extremists if they attend these rallies; or exercise their God Given rights under the Constitution? I deeply resent the slur on our returning veterans, the lefties never miss a beat insulting and denigrating our military."
It takes a special kind of lunatic to come up with a rant like this. Let's address it point by point, shall we?
The right-wing extremist report from DHS is out exactly three months after they came out with their left-wing extremist report. The tea parties were never mentioned. As can be seen from the gun nut in Pittsburgh, people certainly can go off the deep end on the right as well as the left.
The rights in the Constitution are indeed negative rights; all that means is they lay out what the government cannot do to its citizens. The issue here is that you had a well-educated man commenting on the Constitution, and a bunch of...well, persons like yourself interpreting those comments. They're absolutely correct. As for the document itself being flawed? We've amended it several times, so clearly, yeah. If you believe it was perfect as written, we need to have a little chat about 3/5ths.
As for insulting and denigrating the military? **** you. Some of us have done far more than put a yellow ribbon magnet on our cars. The right doesn't have a monopoly on patriotism or dedicated service to this country. Some of us simply don't feel the need to brag about it in every single political discussion. |

little Southlake...home to (really) many of the biggest taxpayer in America had about 1500 of mixed but mostly conservatives. Lot's of moms with strollers and lot's of business people. I didn't see any police but did have to run a gauntlet of paid by me I suppose acorn goons with signs insulting the gathering. They had young men with video cameras pretending they were doing projects for school I guess trying to get sound bytes for I'm sure an insulting edited flick for you tube or a similar venue. All in all the typical conservative protest. OK I've never seen a conservative protest, but I'll tell you one thing no overtime for the guy's that clean up after these things. No broken windows no arrests no fights....nada and we all know why...very few if any creepy leftists and it was a good time for us thankyou Mark Davis and the other guy that organized it. |

first I've got to say this tyler dweeb needs to put down those howard zinn and noam chomsky books and grow a brain. as far as every thing that irrational no talent agitator sent by ted turners personal answer to goebels CNN is BS. Where was her indignation when her pals did horrible things for eight year toward Bush. The vile vulgar plays and movies having him assassinated or the pathetic hate Bush books written by the thousands by her hack pals the horrible vulgar cartoons. Protest after protest by the same leftist punks and the damage and danger they caused. The behavior of the hollywerdies. She protects her pres and demand respect from us for her guy after eight years of Soros, Best, turner billions funding organized hate campaign they took global. She is not just a liar she is a pathetic human...like her pals |

A good question to Susan: how many dollars does Mr. Obama pay you to be offensiv to the citizens of America? |

CNN knew that Saddam Hussien was torturing his own poeple, but didn't report it because managemnt wanted to keep a news base in Iraq.

CNN is the same network whose reporters if you call them that, Petah AHNETT and Bernie ?? and another guy were reporting the Gulf 1 WAR (ooh can I say that dirty word, war?)and were asked if they knew Americans were walking into an ambush would they warn them? Answer: No, they have to remain objective..so they would sit by and watch Americans soldiers murdered. Not biased are they? Who watches its? Not me, Fox is the only station on in this house. |

...not Shep Smith. It should be corrected here because I think that we, as conservatives, have to be sure that we do everything with excellence. Otherwise, we run the risk of sounding like that first man, who kept repeating over and over again that Obama is a fascist, but didn't seem to know why. |

"That's because the President is a scared little pantywaist"
Obama's in Mexico. |

Get this guy on TV -- average Joe protesting government expansion. He'd be a hit just like Joe the Plumber. And we'd get to watch CNN's liberal condescension on infinite loop. Like another Jeremiah Wright incident. |

Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo Yankee Oscar Uniform Over |

That's because the President is a scared little pantywaist that is worried even though he supposedly had no idea all these Americans were angry and were going to protest.
I guess Napolitano spooked him with tales of violent American Legion vets and crazy homeschoolers.
The teleprompter should've told him we were coming, anyway. Maybe TOTUS is feeling jealous because of the new puppy? Uh-oh! Better not have a presser til that gets smoothed out! Could be embarrassing!!!
We inspire lockdown over teabags, while the lefties riot, break windows, throw molotovs, wear masks, fight w police and get arrested, and WE'RE THE EXTREMISTS?!?! Whiskey! Tango!Foxtrot!Over!

he just can't do any better cause hes a depraved moral relativist that doesnt even know what lying is, and he wastes his time here because everyone knows he's a lying degenerate and his posts aren't worth jack-sh!t.
go f yourself again for sneering at what's happening to Afghani women you pusillanimous little turd. |

"police did not need riot gear, barricades, tear gas or restraints."
They did have to lock down the White House, clear the streets, and send out a bomb squad robot when a wingnut genius threw a package of teabags over the WH fence. He was quite fortunate that snipers on the roof didn't take him out. |

I attended the tea party in Salem Ore. today and was suprised by the large attendance. There were al least 2000 there, mabey as many as 4000. We are a sparsely populated state and those numbers are very large for us. Long time political observers say this was the largest crowd they have EVER seen at the capital. I was struck by the ordinary nature of the people there. Just plain folk.. Neighbor next door types. Not your usual radical protesters. If you can get theses people motivated to come and protest I think this thing has got legs. |
You say she was dripping with contempt for the protesters, but TH, FOX and other partisans are all giddy about them. I guess that makes you all biased. |

"No signs with foul language visible. No signs containing words "Nazi", "Criminal", "Hitler" or "F***"
Uh...DTOM, I know comprehension is a word you're afraid of, having more than two syllables and all, but Townhall ran AN EDITED CNN CLIP -- showing the CNN reporter asking that first inarticulate Patriot why Obama is a fascist -- since he had Obama as Hitler on a poster. And there were signs comparing Obama's tax policies to burning Jews.
So again, reality intrudes upon the ignorance bubble that surrounds your dying party.
Just so you don't keep making baseless claims, here's the proof. Not that you care about truth.
Only the slobbering mongolooids of todays GOP would equate taxes with the Holocaust... |
You're FUN! I admit this is off-topic but you made me do it! Do you happen to remember Obama gave the order on Easter Sunday to kill those three African TEENAGERS? Don't get me wrong, they richly deserved it. I only mention this to bring you back to earth a little bit after your 7:04 pm bile-spilling exercise. Lefties here on TH fought for the right of Obama to own that bold military action -- and those folks in Somalia really love America now, don't they??? Leading in the world exacts a price whether it's Obama or Bush. It's not a popularity contest. |

Right-wing protests: Had no large police presence; police did not need riot gear, barricades, tear gas or restraints. No arrests made.
No signs with foul language visible. No signs containing words "Nazi", "Criminal", "Hitler" or "F***"
No people with masks covering their faces were present.
Children could safely attend.
No property destroyed, no garbage left behind, no cars overturned or fires set.
Compare this to any leftist demonstrations and honestly tell me how WE are the "extremists"! BUT... I guess that sort of confusion is expected when your "good friend" and his wife are actual domestic terrorists who tried to murder people!!! |

U//FOUO RIGHTWING EXTREMISM: Tea Party Protest, Hauppauge NY 15APR2009 1730 Agent expected approximately 50 people in attendance. At arrival, estimated individuals in crowd numbered about 800 with more streaming in. Two uniformed officers were standing near their vehicle performing traffic and crowd control. Crowd respectfully listened to a speaker, stood at attention for "America the Beautiful", "Amazing Grace" and "Taps" to honor veterans (AKA Rightwing extremists). Afterwards, some in attendance moved towards street to hold signs, flags, and wave at passers-by. Many drivers passing by blew horns in support for extremists. Little extremist children waved at cars and played on the lawn. Some people just drove by. One good American patriot, purple-faced, leaned out of his car window as he passed by and angrily shouted "Un-American! Un-American!!" One tax and government loving woman flashed the "L" sign at extremists. Even Lesbians love paying taxes and big government! This agent did not see signs being held that were espousing racism, violence or sedition, but I'm sure these extremists were all thinking hateful things. Their smiles hid the truth. No one can be that happy! I took pictures of all their extremist license plates in the parking lot. No arrests, no disturbances, no swearing or fights observed. Many terrorists were promising to come back for the next protest. I will be ready for them!

marching for what? against the Iraq war? I support the Iraq war. against the world bank? Ca-raaaaaaaazy!
start counting down the days..
one-term lame duck President...

Not that the party of short term memory can recall when the "liberal MSM" bent over backwards to show their patriotism by unquestioning Bush's lies.
And the hilarious hypocrisy of you loons screaming about CNN bias when the entire FOX network was promoting the tea party from anchor to anchor... It's a watershed embarrassing moment for an already disgraced right wing echo chamber. And FOX can no longer make any claim to "fair and balanced." Not that it ever was. But at least America got to see up close the spittle flecked white face of today's GOP...and they ain't buying your tea. |
We had 10's of thousands of patriots whooping it up. Where am i?
A hint. We had a guitar legend wail the national anthem.
The unofficial head count was estimated at 16k and I'm a pretty good judge of crowds...it was probably closer to 20k.
Yea baby.
Our grass roots organization put it together in about 7 weeks with not bail out $. |
Then what the hell was that eight years of Bush shredding the economy and Constitution?
Oh..but your party was booted out of power because you have nothing to offer the nation but war, fear and depression. Haven't you done enough? And boy, where were all you Patriots when WE were marching with MILLIONS? Oh right, you and Rush were calling us "American haters" -- while you psychos plot secede from America. Hilarious. If it weren't sad.
The GOP picked a wonderful day to commit mass suicide. Now maybe you can ressurect the party... |
No, not really. I just said that to get you here.
You lefties have screwed up very badly. Normal American people know you are sneering and laughing at their genuine anger. Americans are tolerant people, but you have pushed them too far. So,laugh while you can. It starts getting bad for you tomorrow. |

Corporate Sponsored Tea Baggers... Wow! |
you smoking/sniffing/shooting to suggest that Obama helps 95 percent of Americans and offers the largest middle class tax cut? Obama is offering NOTHING but a tax burden that will ruin America if he and the Congress aren't stopped as soon as possible. That stupid statement of yours shows where the metal capacity of all you liberals has been severly reduced by the brainwashing you have allowed yourselves to accept at the hands of a communist dictator wanna-be and his house of evil little helpers. This is America, Dude! Not Communist China! If you want to be "ruled" get the hell out and spend some time under a full fledged dictator for a while you elitist loon! |
thanks for the hilarity I haven't heard yet. oh, oh so funny, my cheeks hurt.
Come up with something good, libturd. |
I was appalled and angered by the arrogance and contempt of CNN Reporter Susan Roesgen who "reported" from the Chicago Tea Party today. Rather than report the story by allowing the question she asked to be answered, she rudely cut the man off and made elitist pro-Obama comments. Then when people began yelling as they were angered by her contemptuous behavior, she dimissed the demonstration as simply right-wing and anti-CNN. Gee..., big surprise that when people are exposed to such left-wing tactics they become anti-CNN. Of course, the anchor then immediately took her cue by refering to the situation as, "a prime of example of what we're dealing with...", in order to castigate any tea party as what they defined as '...not family viewing", which was nothing more than people protesting. It seems your reporters behave as rather thin-skinned, little school girls when people disagree with them. Other networks deal with it, but your people become contemptuous.
Also Anderson Cooper's tea-bagging comments today made him sound like the childish liberal that he clearly is. He must be taking lessons from RObert Gibbs. I knew your network leaned left, but didn't realize how far you'd go. I had been watching Lou Dobbs for an independent view, but may no longer do this. I did tune into other shows on CNN for the other side, but I will certainly never do this again. Good job on alienating, what I would expect to be, thousands of people today in your slanted reporting. Perhaps you're taking lessons from the New York Times. |

A hardy cup of tea with thousands still soaking the old bag of Oba-Ma Ma Nation. A president who did not restrain the whims of a congressional majority, and their pork ladden budget, but looked the otherway shirking his duties has president. A duty of protecting the people, has one, of three checks, in our Republics representation to ensure the collective powers of one group, do not negate the peoples, this Republics voice. But, being the follower he is, President Obama chose the course of his mentors, and the money trail he depended upon in his rise to power. He chose to repay the proportions of America he found to his liking, as the likes of them used Americas tax dollars to support his campaign. |

She made her name during the aftermath of Katrina interviewing Mr. Chocolate City Nagin. She said it was amazing Bush could 'turn on a dime' and get us into Iraq and couldn't get help to N.O. She conveniently forgot that the Governor (Dim Blanco) and Nitwit Nagin were the first responders. |
Is she mentally sound? She could not handle a loud boisterous crowd? How did she ever get a job in "journalism"? She went for the strong opinions but cut them off if she did not like their opinions or reasoning. This helps support something that I think Ken Hamblin said: basically liberals can not defend most of their view points in a fair and open discussion. Therefore, the liberals need things like speech codes, the fairness doctrine or threaten college campus speakers that they don't like. On Ken's show he allowed liberals to speak with limited interruption because he realized their faulty logic would come out. However, liberals do not allow opponents to speak because they are fearfull of the soundness of their logic. |
... acted like a spoiled little ADHD brat. Time to send her back to the minor leagues. How 'bout the 11 o'clock weather in the Yukon?
As someone said: the father should have handed his kids pacifier to the reporter. She definitely needed it more than the child!
Never once saw a reporter - during the 8 years of Bush dressed like Hitler signs - challenge the person holding the sign. Probably 'cause the liberal protesters get violent when cornered. |
Incredible. It's almost like a revolution. Of dunces. |
If Roesgen is the wife of the reporter who interviewed me when I made the local Fox affiliate at the first Tea Party, Andy Roesgen. I feel sorry for him if they are married. If they are sister and brother, i wonder if he'd like to beat her silly. That was the worst display of journalistic non- integrity I have ever seen. We do not need to be grateful because that woman thinks Obama has done IL a favor. What an absolute ignoramus. She missed the whole point of the words "Tea Party". Where's that comedian who always says,"here's your sign!"
Susan Roesgen: Anti Obama Monitor and Right Wing Extremist catcher...oooh shaking in my "not made for family Right wing boots. NOT.
poster girl of what's hideously wrong with the modern mainstream ADVOCVACY media. Unbelievable, even by the sewer dwelling standards of CNN & MSNBC.
AmerWoman...Luv it! David Rodham Gergen is absolutely grotesque. I'm picturing Susie Q and the nausea provoking Gergen doing that Tea Bag thing the Libs & Gays here are snickering about...and I'm...well...snickering! |
You suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 FOX RULES |
guessing doesn't count. They were full of people from all parties, just not the far left wingers, socialists and commies, unless they were there to cause trouble like they did in DC.
USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! |
Susan looks a lot like Nancy Pelosi.
oh heck, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. |
David Gergen, too, he is nothing but a manure slinger and he really stepped in it last night. |
It was a TOTAL Fox News conspiracy! I didn't see anyone who wasn't a Right Wing Extremist (Veteran, Christian, One Issue Activist)! Buncha pathetic losers who are students of history. It was SCARY! Boogedy boogedy!!
Meanwhile, back in the real world, the tea party I went to in the Seattle area had Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Veterans, Christians, non-Christians.
Responsible, law abiding Americans taking part in the Republican government that belongs to them.
BOO! |
got the attention she was after for herself, but I'm not sure this is what she had in mind. She really looked dopey.
Trying to lie, twist and/or suppress the news in order to keep a party in power that you favor and deny others their rights, while using the news to do it, is the act of a "fascist." HTH!! |
I should have noted that the signs behind the CNN camera were more radical than any others found in the crowd. It's called "Hesienberg's Uncertainty Principle" where the observer effects that which is observed. Shabby reporting. |
out. Why don't you go back to swilling your Daily Kos bilge?
The hilarious part about the Greek trajedy we have unfolding right now in Washington D.C. is that the progressive scumbags who 'organized' for Obama are getting some of their own bitter medicine. Awww, dose mean ol' conserwvatives co-opted their rabble rousing ways...boohooohooo |
Does anyone in their right mind think that the coverage of these "protests" will do the GOP image any good? I mean, if Fred Phelps and his family had turned up it wouldn't have made them look any more deranged. Old Fred would probably have sounded like the voice of reason... but yep, you carry on the work folks. Keep this up and by the 2012 election the GOP will poll in the hundreds... |
This is totally non-organic. Obama helps 95 percent of Americans and offers the largest middle class tax cut. The GOP polls will stay in the gutter between absurd "organic" CORPORATE SPONSORED Tea Party outings and wingnut wackos in what is left of the GOP leadership. |
As I watched this CNN whoare for the collectivists mocking the crowd, I was praying to see someone cram a fist in her face, and strangle her with the cord of the microphone.
When the day comes we must remember the media. They must be the first to be hanged for their duplicity in our demise. |
Reading through the post, I have not seen a bit of factual support from died :) (dyed) in the wool left support. A great deal of their arguement lies in the fact they repeat the lie. I do forgive them though, as they have been taught from birth the love of mothers arms, and we live in a democracy where all are equalized in political passions. Everybody except republicans, and they are an infringement on this REPUBLIC. You know, the public, the Republic, with the ruling power which enables the form of democracy in America. The grassroots of America that has been trampled under the feet of politicians, and their factions of support who imagine that; "by reducing mankind to a perfect equality in their political rights, they would, at the same time, be perfectly equalized and assimilated in their possessions, their opinions, and their passions." (Madison)
"Hence it is that such democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths." http://www.thisnation.com/library/books/federalist/10.html |
Pretty funny stuff from Shep. Good job.
For the first time since Mao-Bama was made president, I'm proud of my country. |
Kudos to CNN's Susan Roesgen, who figured out all on her own that all of this was nothing more than a massive conspiracy to knock CNN off the top of the cable news heap!
Oh, wait...to late for that...
On the subject of taxation....
Republicans want to pay their fair share.
Democrats want to legislate that republicans pay their tax for them.
Republicans at the tea parties are fully aware that they may be getting a tax break *on the tax scale* via Obama. BUT they aren't STUPID enough (as the left is!) to think we ALL don't pay tax by way of inflation - hitting the middle class and poor that hardest.
Wake up democrats - YOU should be at the Tea parties if you don't want higher prices which is trickle down tax from the rich!
Susan Roesgen is clearly an Obama sycophant.
She is not supposed to take sides, she is supposed to report.
This is the most shameful CNN hit-piece I have ever viewed.
was awesome! HUGE and full of people from all over the political spectrum. Scared the libs! |
to the PREDATORY POLITICIANS and their propaganda media slaves. When they fail to win arguments, of course they demonize the opposition.
Today was a good day for the regular American taxpayer to be heard. |
SEZ FRANK: "i thought ..."
SEZ ME: Yeah, we know better than that.
SEZ FRANK: "...these tea parties were non partisan..."
SEZ ME: They are. What party is sponsoring them? I'm Libertarian, and I support the protests on massive government spending and massive government intrusion into our lives. Why don't you? Other Democrats do, as well.
SEZ FRANK: "...anti-tax demonstations?"
SEZ ME: They are not anti-tax demonstrations. You guys came up with that on your own. They are more anti-spending protests, but in a larger sense, they are a reflection of the growing sentiment that the federal government needs to get back to minding its own business, as outlined in the US Constitution, and get out of the states' and citezens' business.
SEZ FRANK: "Guess not. "
SEZ ME: You guessed right! Congratulations!
This woman from the liberal, biased, left wing CNN news station clearly searched out a Conservative to bash on their reason for attending the Tea Party, as if they should have something to be ashamed of. She was argumentative, nasty, confrontational and antagonizing. I have news for her; my sister and neice and several friends whom I used to see all time before I moved here were there and said there were dozens of Democrats, Independants, Republicans and Conservatives alike with signs.
Everyone is being hurt by the Obama "tax 'em to death plan" and it ain't just Republicans! When they tell you it is they are lying dogs. One elderly Democrat man tried to take a swipe at the reporter on her unfair assertion that everyone who was in attendance was a troublemaking Republican and the people with her roughly pushed him aside. It figures. The left is not only blind, they are pushy, they are liars, and they have no sense of fair play, just bullying to get their way. Their way is going to meet an undesirable demise eventually though, as it should. I can't wait. I want a front row seat.
My Rally had nearly 1000 people and they were quite vocal. |
I love it! CNN might as well buy billboards that say, "Hey, we're socialists. We're not a credible news agency! And we're not to be taken seriously"! This display was every bit as effective toward that end! Congratulations CNN! We see why your ratings are plummeting. Watching this stupid "reporter", Susan Roesgen, reminds me of the drunk, who while coming out of a complete blackout looks at the crowd that has gathered and in absolute horror asks himself, "My God, who are all these people! And, why am I naked"!!! |
MSNBC's the Ed show today was FULL of lies.
First he said - tea party protesters want to pay *NO* tax. LIE. We want reasonable fair taxation, and limited accountable spending.
Then he said "no one's" tax is being raised BUT people who smoke... then he had Robert Gibbs on and Gibbs admitted -- why yes -- those making over $250,000 per will be taxed MORE. Hello ED got that -- MORE means MORE -- not NONE!!
Problem is the left nods ignorantly as the "rich" small business passes on that tax by way of INFLATION to the poorest democrats The only one making out of this is the government.government. What imbeciles that watch MSNBC.
Obama is laughing at you lefty fools.
...or should we call it, unbiased reporting. Nice. Kill the free speech! |
Thanks for taking time out of your Mensa meeting to join us.... |
I thought I had seen it all when it comes to liberal media bias, but this clip takes the cake. We would not have been treated to a greater leftist rant if the microphone had been handed to a random idiot at the typical ACORN/Code Pink/MoveOn.org/fill in the blank rally. And arguing with the people she is supposed to be reporting on? Unbelievable!
CNN is to journalism as Obama is to humility or Bill Clinton is to chastity. |
I haven't had this much fun since the hogs ate baby sister....!
The libs are really going nuts (short trip, I know....)
We really do have to do this more often...... |
Paul writes: "The tea parties is nothing but a gathering of clueless morons that can't think for them selves without Rush telling them how to think"
Gosh I thought they just said it was Fox News! |
of all the tea party coverage I saw , only Chicago seemed 'after' Obama personally, maybe thats because they know him better than we do, and know what he is really about .As for cnn , if you werent so dishonest and so anti american , maybe you wouldnt feel like you unloved and actually despised and unliked ya think. |
Never know what they're talking about.
Does fact checking simply not ever occur in their minds? |
Other countries love us now? Guess you haven't heard what the French president has said about Obama as well as the British Prime Minister, etc. He isn't getting very high marks from them. I guess you see what you want to see. |
To use your logic, Republicans don't pay taxes. Excuse me, my husband and I have paid taxes for 40 years. Obama is not satisfied with the percentage we are giving. He wants more and more. He thinks big government is the answer to everything. I disagree. |
"lilly writes: Wednesday, April, 15, 2009 6:30 PM To DanNV I didn't see the protester who called Obama a Fascist---I watched the full hour of Glenn Beck, took lots of notes,..."
What kind of person takes notes?
Actually, don't answer that, I think we all know. Are you taking names too?
to be impartial. They both clearly state they are Conservatives.
Let's compare apples to apples. News to news. Fox is balanced much more than CNN. Back in the race for POTUS, did you see the positive stories vs. negative stories on both candidates? CNN wasn't as balanced as FOX.
CNN does not present many of their news stories with an unbiased approach and yet the paint it as unfiltered, unbiased news. It's deceitful. FOX reports news more unbiased. |
"The tea parties is nothing but a gathering of clueless morons that can't think for them selves without Rush telling them how to think"
CNN is not hiring right now: put your resume and audition tape away. |
Fox sucks.
The fascist guy clearly does not even know what the word means. If he did, that wouldn't be the word he would use.
I'm glad the other networks are starting to call out Fox more often for their biased reporting.
Seeing the horrible bias of this very unprofessional "reporter," at least that is what she calls herself, proves to me why the liberal media is losing viewers daily. Obama is a fascist if fascism means emhasizing an aggressive nationalism which Obama is doing by trying to nationalize banks, businesses, etc. Personally, I believe Obama is a socialist because he believes the production and distribution of goods should be owned by the government. He has said that big government is the only thing that can help this country get out of debt. Spend, spend, spend is his mantra. When the government spends all the money there is none left for private business. |
No wonder CNN is hurting. Hilarious!!! |
Susan, best of luck. It was a blast watching you huff and puff at all those crazy people (especially that completely insane father with his whacky brainwashed 2 year-old, what a loon). Good times. Maybe MSNBC will hire you, they love crackpots. |
You are outraged because the CNN reporter mocked the tea parties? Agreed, that was not neutral journalism. Now, tell us how you feel about FOX sending their people to host tea-party events. Tell us whether FOX was being neutral by providing a HUGE amount of promotion and PR for the tea-parties. Hannity, Beck, Van Susteren, and Cavuto are clearly working today in the cause of tea-party protests---they aren't just showing up as journalists covering the story---they are MAKING the story. Nothing neutral there. But then, this wouldn't bother Van Susteren one bit since she has been booking interviews with all possible members of the Palin Family (as a journalist) while her husband, an attorney, provided legal guidance and funding to Palin's political action committee SarahPAC.
Fantastic!!!!!!!! There are alot more decent folks than scum libs in America. I'll be at one of the massive 4th of July TEA parties this summer also. Best thing about libs is they make it so fun!!!!!!!!!! American conservatism is back, and libs will get shoved back in the closet where they can live in darkness forever!!!!!!!!!! Go patriots!!!!!!!!Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!! |
The tea parties is nothing but a gathering of clueless morons that can't think for them selves without Rush telling them how to think |
How about we take a look at what FOX allowed: here are a few bits from Glenn Beck today (from the Alamo tea-party rally).
1) "Freedom of Choice Act means the unions want to take away the secret ballot". Lie: the choice of secret or non-secret would be a matter of CHOICE made by employees. They get to CHOOSE. |
I didn't see the protester who called Obama a Fascist---I watched the full hour of Glenn Beck, took lots of notes, did not see that. However, you mention that this protester might have been an ACORN infiltrator. Well, I was watching Beck about ten days ago when HE ranted about Obama being out of control and ruining this country and in the background he was rolling footage of Hitler's Nazi army. This is called "conveying meaning through juxtaposition of ideas"---saying that Obama is dangerous and showing history's most famous Fascists in the background puts the two together in the viewers' minds. And, as far as I know, Glenn Beck doesn't work for ACORN---he works for FOX. |
would be fair in their reporting. Guess that was too much to ask...
Everyone who believes in freedom and democracy should write CNN and tell them to fire this "journalist" and that unless CNN returns to reporting news items honestly and without bias they will not receive your viewership.
This type of "reporting" is something I would expect in a fascist regime. |
CNN's Susan Roesgen's so bias that she's unable to even effectively pretend being a journalist.
When she was an anchor on our local NBC news affiliate, WDSU, and a flaming liberal to boot.
No surprise here. |
Middle class families are getting tax cuts and the rich are paying the same tax rate as they did under Ronald Reagan. I thought you guys liked Ronald Reagan. |
"i thought these tea parties were non partisan anti-tax demonstations?
Guess not."
Yeah, 'cause you believe everything the MSM spoon feeds you.
With this in context your vapid posts start to make sense. |
the anti-Obama rally. This woman is unbelievable. Boy, are they trying to get all of the MSNBC viewers? |
My favorite part were the teabaggers talking about how we have lost the legacy of Lincoln,....you know, Abraham Lincoln .....the president who raised more taxes, asserted more control over the government, and assumed more power than any president in history?
There is stupidity on both sides. The reporter gives her opinion on a couple of occasions. Of course this took place in Chicago the home of the President. Enough said. |
I haven't felt this proud of my fellow Republicans in a while...it's usually some liberal wacko groups you see out in the streets protesting - and usually the ones causing mayhem. It's also usually the left wing fringe that gets much of the media's attention when they have their protests. What a great day though to see thousands of ordinary Americans across the country and from all walks of life (not just Republicans either) expressing themselves in public, and doing it peacefully, for the sake of bringing sanity back to our government and for the sake of our children's future. Good job, guys! |
Eileen, how ignorant can you be?? For eight years I heard nothing but Hate Bush rhetoric come out of the moronic Democrats and the idiotic MSM. I also heard how Bush was mortgaging our future. Well, what Bush did in eight years pales to the absolute disaster mr obama has foisted on our country in less than 100 days. Amazing that you now want us to sit around the campfire and sing why can't we all get along. Does your mommy know your playing with things you know nothing about?? |
Was the protester that had the picture of Obama depicted as a Nazi and who called him a fascist actually one of those ACORN infiltrators? If so, was CNN a dupe or a facilitator? Just asking! |
"i thought these tea parties were non partisan anti-tax demonstations?
Guess not."
You got that they weren't non partisan from a 3:14 minute clip from CNN? Which is worse Susan Roesgen's reporting or your observation of her reporting?
Gee, when the libs have a protest, we don't hear the liberal MSM report on who funded or organized the protestors, many of whom are bussed in. Who pays for the busses? Hmmm? Acorn? George Soros? But that never comes up.
Also, how many times did we see protests against Bush reported as Bush bashing protests? I can't recall ever hearing such a thing. Bush was called things worse than, if not as bad as, a fascist. He was called a murderer and a war criminal. But don't call Obama any names. That's just not right in the eyes of CNN. Liberal bias. Bernie Goldberg is right on the money. |
Lets just say that Susan is not simply reporting.....??
I wonder if this was a rally against a GOP president how much time and energy Susan would spend defending him???
Unprofessional Hack Reporter.....nothing more.
Its great to see though...... |
CNN, the MSM, live, and survive, by reporting turmoil, and turbulance, for the ratings they can accumulate. This mass petition of government creates a form of turmoil, turbulance, not for America, but for individuals in America who depend on the majority. CNN is one faction, of many, that have backed a losing political agenda for years, has they prospered of the turmoil, and turbulance, individual Americans have faced. This will be reported to their audience, just as their secured politicians in Washington speak of cautions to be taken with RIGHT WING EXTREMIST. A war waged by the left with propaganda of fear, the possibility of turmoil, and turbulance, that might limit opportunity.
This ought to be good, has Americans rally to truthfully end the opportunities left factions have taken on the backs of Americans. |
For 8 years we heard liberals complian about Bush mortgaging our children's and grandchildren's future, but now Obama is spending more to clean up Bush's over spending according to liberal's that is.
I haven't felt this proud of my fellow Republicans in a while...it's usually some liberal wacko groups you see out in the streets protesting - and usually the ones causing mayhem. |
"If they are so inconsequential, why do they pay attention?"
They're free entertainment.
Every September there are protests at the IMF/World Bank meetings in D.C. the news media always carry pictures of people in goofy costumes, and the right wing immediately grabs them and says, "See! See! See what lunatics these people are!"
Well, I'm here to tell you that I am EAGERLY awaiting the video clips from all these Tea Parties. Ain't no lunatics like right wing lunatics. |
go back and learn history. Lincoln came from the most radical wing of leftists on the American scene during the 1850s. At that point in history the Democrats, the political entity created by Andrew Jackson from the ashes of the Jeffersonian Democrat-Republicans represented the establishment, particularly the Southern planter establishment and the Republicans were the leftists. You have zero understanding of history and shouldn't write about it. It makes your foolishness far too obvious. |
"Just so you guys know. Lincoln was the first president to implement income tax. And he was a conservative."
Careful, john, I don't know if you've noticed but as America tilts further and further to the right, we now actually have SECESSIONISTS stepping into the public forum. Don't let them hear you calling Lincoln a "conservative." |
and he also suspended the constitution and was a war criminal. |
This is how CNN sees the world, and how it constructs its entertainment. Nobody should ever confuse 24-hour news with what was once called "news." This programming is about getting telegenic faces up there to foment the illusion of momentous events happening at every hour of every day. None of these entertainment companies is anything other than unscripted drama; like "Law and Order" they create theatrical presentations by referencing current events. This silly woman, a snarky Democrat, is merely appealing to her audience's biases and prejudices, just as does Bill O'Reilly does.
The mistake is in taking CNN at all seriously. It's "gravitas" is as manufactured and artful as its coverage and it is there to "inform" liberals, as Fox is there to "inform" conservatives. The degree of honesty one finds on either seems to favor Fox a bit, given that CNN has had arch-phonies like Christian Amanpour on staff a lot longer and has been in the propaganda business a lot longer. It just looks newsier, and as such fools people more effectively than its competitors.
otherwise known as CNN did not want to hear from the Tea Party people because they can't face the reality of the signs "You are spending my child's future!" This so-called "reporter on the scene" wasn't going to allow any criticisms of her hero, the community organizer. The other cluck set the stage and unfortunately for the clucks it blew up in their faces! No wonder CNN is almost at the bottom of the heap! |
Just so you guys know. Lincoln was the first president to implement income tax. And he was a conservative. |
Talk about biased reporting. For 8 years liberals compared President Bush to Adolph Hitler. So that so-called reporter has chutzpa!
not a journalist. i wonder if she was so offended when bush was called every evil and nasty name in the book......nah, he wasn't here savior.
just words, just speeches, roy |
Does your mommy know you're playing on the computer....? |
Those were set-ups. Those couldn't have been actual conservatives. CNN sent out two totally inarticulate dudes and then put them on TV with the intent that they would be a representative of the whole.
These guys are in no way representative of the majority of the tea party attendees. |
yelled at. Seems we know our enemies well :-) |
...a fascist at a protest the reoporter would have silently nodded her head in agreement. |
seems like some news event has occurred that prevents the cnn crew from dropping to their knees to provide some oral gratification to their love object, the flap eared messiah posing as president.
Seems cnn like the rest of the msm thinks reporting news is secondary to declaring to the country that it is heresy not to kneel in praise of the messiah and to question his divine vision is akin to blasphemy for doubting that he is, as he told the trolls during the campaign, he is the one, the person who will save the world from the heartless citizens trying to make a living and provide for their families |
Why does the left really care so much about these Tea Parties?
If they are so inconsequential, why do they pay attention?
Anti war, Environmental, etc type protests bearly register on my radar, unless they do something really stupid, like the code pinkos outside the Marine Recruiter. Other than that, as long as you don't riot, I don't care what you protest. Just like I don't care what church you go to, or don't go to, or how many guns you own. The Constitution is the Constitution, after all.
If you honestly believe in Obama's budget, if you approve in what Congress is doing, then don't go to the Tea Party where you live. Write your Reps and the President and say good job.
I guess the left is just afraid that the myth that Conservatism is dying or that Obama is SUPER popular and beloved is being dispelled. |

We Patriots have a Constitutional Right to sue BO for our Grievances.
We Patriots have a Constitutional Right to present criminal information against BO to Law Enforcement Officials and Grand Juries.
I submit that we should do all these things and keep it up until BO is legally removed from our White House!

"Wait so does the media have a liberal bias which brainwashes people?
Or does Fox news have a larger viewing audience than MSNBC and CNN combined?"
I didn't say brainwash. I was trying to point out that the media can frame an event by who they show and who they hide. I gave you a site to check out as an illustration of that point.
As for your Fox point, I don't understand the point you are trying to make. |
A biased Obama shill, we are hear we wliibe heard and will take back our country and boot the socialists out. |
While many will decry this as a shoddy piece of journalism (agreed), IMO she did exactly what she was assigned to do: - She painted it as purely Obama-bashing (move the goal posts) - Went to pre-selected crowd members (you don't think that was spontaneous, do you?) - Got into a bit of an argument/shouting match with her subject (Journalism 101 no-no, but very effective if you are trying to get a negative reaction out of a crowd that you want to paint as "angry") - slammed their competitor Fox News as being behind it (invalidating it to some) - signed off by saying that this was not suitable family television anymore (I couldn't hear anything but heard loud and clear the number of "tea bagging" references from CNN news anchors). |
You can call us whatever you want. You can label us all you want. But just like Yamamoto said after Pearl Harbor, "We may have awakened a sleeping giant." So to has President Obama awakened the silent majority. Remember this country came into being partially because of a tax revolt. The anti-tax tradition in America is a great one. This is ONLY THE BEGINNING. |
Apparently the success of Fox news really distresses you. Bush looks like a miser compared to your guy. People know that running up trillions in debt is a problem. It is a problem for my children and my grandchildren. You are busy complaining about 440 billion but you have no problems with trillions. I am thrilled to give up the good healthcare that I pay for so that I can go to a clinic but feel great that 13 million illegals will be covered. I just can't wait to stand behind one of the food stamp recipients in the grocery store and watch them buy more cookies, candy and junk while I look in my cart and see all the stuff I looked for on sale. Yes and as soon as cap and trade takes affect I am sure that I will have to keep my heat at 60 degrees but Obama will probably give some more funding to those who don't work so they can keep their heat at 72. Sorry I have worked hard and this makes me sick. |

Wait so does the media have a liberal bias which brainwashes people?
Or does Fox news have a larger viewing audience than MSNBC and CNN combined?
Because the two aren't very consistent when used in tandem. Make up your minds. |
Susan Rosen (sp?) is not a journalist, she is an apologist for Obama and the Obama administration.
Rosen's headline proclamation is that this is a party for Obama bashers. Some signs said 'Stop spending my child's futre' or 'We can't live on change alone' 'Rick Santelli for (not legible)' and the air head who called Obama a fascist but couldn't explain why.
She then breathlessly describes the general tenor of the Tea Party as anti-government, anti-CNN and promoted by the right wing conservative network Fox.
A man holding a two year old child on his shoulders (the child is sucking on a pacifier) begins to tell her why he is there but she eventually cuts him off and moves on saying that "I can't really hear much more and this is not really family viewing." Really? Give the CNN reporter the pacifier, she needs it worse than that two year child.
The CNN report eventually collapsed under the weight of its own incompetence and the precious giggling anchor in the studio ends by saying that "this is a prime example that we didn't expect to see" and that the "tensions are rising between conservatives and liberals."
The only identifiable liberal on the scene was the reporter from CNN, backed up by her liberal support staff back in the studio. The conservatives were pretty laid back but Rosen was visibly unsettled, a testament to her inept and unprofessional attempt at broadcast journalism.

Please do give us a break, and BTW Fox news is #1 in cable news ratings, if you dont have it, Demand it. |

What a blithering dunderhead! I have to wonder if she intentionally tried to P.O. people, if so, she definitely succeeded!
This is our lamestream media at its finest (not!). |
Do you mean as mad as we were when you guys kept predicting that we would be so mad when Obama lost....because your crystal ball was repaired by fox noise.... |
You guys are really worried and nervous about these protests, aren't you?
It must bother you a lot that Obama is either LYING about being aware of them, or that he is actually aware of them (not likely).
It must really knot you up that he's going to be a one-term lame-duck President. |
Just keep watching. These tea parties have done very well without funding. Remember unlike ACORN, these people are not being funded by Obama's buddies. People are angry and they are going to continue to show it. All of you libs are pretty nervous. It is evident by your obsession with posting on a conservative site. I think the tea parties are prettye successful and they are just are just a start. Why don't you go over to Huffingtond post with your friends and lick your wounds. |

Have you seen your base lately, not very pretty, but the ladies at Fox news, could be why their #1 |
Attack everything often and all the time. So as to never solve anything with reason. Just strict constructs with shoddy logic. Wow no wonder you are losing people instead of adding to your party. |
If Susan Roesgen cannot simply let someone say what they believe, she has zero business being a reporter. This is liberal news bias at its worst. |
Go Fox News, which is BTW #1 |
Poor baby....it must be hell to have to surround yourself with all those dissenting opinions....
A great example of skewing the presentation rather than reporting the news.... |
Your base is not a pretty sight. The longer they sit out in plain view, the better. Did you really think that after FOX played this up, CNN and other news organizations would take it seriously? Their in competition with one another. But planning hasn't exactly been your strong suit lately... |
First she tells you that it is just an Obama bash. This is typical of the left wing media. How about we decide for ourselves. I have a lot of Democratic friends attending the parties today. They are discusted with this government as well. You libs would just love to make this into something else. These are Americans. |
