Out of Control
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 12:49 PM
Video of Jeremiah Wright's speech to the NAACP is here.

Barack Obama's people have to be losing it.  The speech is absolutely beyond belief in its embrace of discredited, divisive racial ideas.

How ironic -- and really, how sad.  The magical myth of Barack Obama's candidacy was the promise of him being a leader around whom the United States could unite without reference to race, thereby taking an enormous step forward to heal longstanding racial scars.

Now, thanks to Wright, it appears that the scabs on a lot of racial wounds are being ripped open, and even perhaps deepened.

Yesterday on Fox News Sunday, Barack himself conceded that his relationship with Wright was a legitimate political issue.

Americans are left wondering: How could a man who seems so reasonable and so likable embrace a race-baiting radical like Jeremiah Wright for 20 years?  What does that reflect about Barack's inner life -- and does it mean that there is a side to him that we're not seeing?

I know we will be getting an amnesty President no matter who wins. That's why I won't vote for any of them. McCain's amnesty will be harder to defeat than a Democrat amnesty. GOP Congresscritters will fight a D and go along with an R.

Love of Country
We all love our country!

There are many reasons to love our country one of which is freedom of speech. Carol has just as much right to express her views as you have to express yours. I do not see how comments like love it or leave it are germane to the discussion.

I am a veteran and I'm sure we one of the things we wanted to protect was freedom of speech.

Amnesty ...
VP ...

What makes you think Obama wouldn't love amnesty even more than McCain ? And in a party that desn't even try to talk about securing the borders ...

You may getting an Amnesty President no matter who wins but supporting McCain is the best way to hold enogh votes in Congress to kill any amnesty bills ...

Oslo? Norway?
Rev. Wright also said Norwegians are pasty less-God layabouts who have contributed nothing to the world since Elke Sommer. He said they smell like lutefisk, whatever that is. Wright also said Norwegians are frigid and leave their children unattended so they can go to hash bars. He's a well-learned man so it must be so.

What do you call smart people in Norway? Tourists.

New homeland?
Maybe people like Carol -- who claims to have seen the speech but has a totally twisted view of it-- need to find a new homeland. America is changing and in another generation or two your point of view will be about as popular as Osama bin Laden.

Take advantage of the recession, buy up some little island somewhere--far away. America, love it or leave it.

Brilliant speech
Just saw the first 20 minutes--Very well educated man, vey inspiring. Can't always agree with him, but so what. He's sort of old school, as Obama said, a bit set in his ways and thick about the progress that younger leaders see.

If everyone in America would give Rev. Wright 20 minutes unedited it'd be net plus for Obama. Instead, those predisposed to oppose Obama's politics will revel in the chances to demonize him.

Wright
Wright is only saying what is being preached in nearly every Black church in America. Blacks good, Whites bad! Purely racist. God damn America pretty well explains their theme. You don't hear any Blacks condemning Wright and never will unless it would serve a short term purpose. Wright has only exposed what has been occurring for years. They love him in Chicago and they loved him in Detroit. It's only the beginning!

Obama ties to Wright Rehabilitation?
The Reverend Wright pretty much insulted people of all color, races and creeds – so much for his rehabilitation tour. A caller from Chicago called into Bill Bennett’s radio show this morning and he said that Axelrod, Obama’s campaign manager, was involved in getting a Chicago PR firm to restore the Reverend’s image free of charge. He also went on to say that nothing is free in Chicago and he’s hoping someone will research this further. I have no idea whether this is true or not, but I agree with the caller that hopefully a journalist will be interested enough to kick the tires. If it is true, what a "stupid," in the words of Wright, strategy for Obama's team to attempt.

There IS an opportunity for Obama here
If he finds a way to do the right thing and bring the black constituency with him. I just don't accept that blacks are so monolithic that they would abandon Obama were he to suddenly confront the race-mongers undermining his message and historic opportunity. Could it be that this IS the great black moment in US history? A crossroads where blacks must pick one road or the other? Will there ever be another chance should they blow this one?

That is what defines great leaders. Can Obama lead or not? One avenue I would explore if I were Obama is the likelihood that Wright is just using Obama to launch his own career as the new race-monger on the block. There are more of them than there are Obamas and they are coddled by liberal academics and the MSM.

This could work out much differently than people expect. The opportunity is there. Is Obama up to it? Will he lead or knuckle under to the race-mongers and follow?

9/11
When clerical workers were jumping, with their clothes on fire, from the 80th floor of the World Trade Center, I don't think any of them were saying to themselves, "Oh damn, America's chickens have come home to roost." And I don't believe Rev. Wright would be saying that either, if he were there that day planning his very cushy retirement package.
Craig writes: Monday, April, 28, 2008 1:27 PM
I love Reverand Wright
Reverand Wright is the biggest gift in an election since Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton's redneck brothers and even better since he isn't a blood relation.

I have a feeling this is going to end though with Obama denouncing Wright and throwing him under the bus. The black community has too much invested in Obama and if they have to sacrifice Wright they will.

Also I believe that most black preachers and blacks in general will start getting angry at Wright and his attempts to hurt the great blck hope for his own selfish purposes. At least that would make logical sense. I could be wrong. In the meantime.

Go Jeremiah Go!!!!!

Too Bad The RNC Had To Have Amnesty

http://townhall.com/columnists/AmandaCarpenter/2008/03/28/b loggers_press_mccain_adviser_on_immigration
“John McCain’s position on immigration is very clear and this a question that gets asked at townhall appearances everyday in media appearances and has answered the question at least a thousand times before the New Hampshire primary,” Schmidt said.

He explained, “Any person who supports John McCain’s campaigns is a subscriber to John McCain’s views"

A vote for McCain is a vote for surrender of your country. A vote for McCain will be used as proof you want amnesty for illegal aliens.

McCain keeps saying "Secure the border first". We know that he means amnesty next. The plan is to get the border state Gov's to declare the border secure. Conveniently, they are all on board the cheap labor express. Then his good friend Ted Kennedy will bring back McCain/Kennedy and McCain can provide his good friends across the aisle with their new permanent majority.

I will not vote for amnesty.
