Obama Adviser: McCain 'Limited' by POW Years

I missed this yesterday afternoon, but it's further proof that the Obama campaign either has a plan to undermine McCain's military experience -- or simply can't help themselves from attempting to do so:
"ABC News' Teddy Davis and Molly Hunter Report: While Barack Obama was urging supporters not to devalue the military service of rival John McCain, an informal Obama adviser argued Monday that the former POW's isolation during the Vietnam War has hobbled the Arizona senator's capacity as a war-time leader."

Isn't this the same Gen Clark removed as head of NATO forces for incompetence? The same Gen Clark whose superiors ( I believe Powell and Frank) found him unreliable, and tended to exagerate on reports? I was a Navy Carrier Pilot and with few exceptions like experimental and training sqdrns all trained as "war sqdrns". McCain wasn't given command of the largest operational sqdrn because he couldn't hack the program or because his father was an admiral. He earned it. Also he was not removed for incompetence or malfeasance. I truely hope this kind of bogus bloviating comes back to bite Clark/Obama on the butt. |

This just gets better and better! So, let's ask John Kerry and other Senators who were on the ground in Vietnam and were smart enough not to get captured, if they would like to have traded places with McCain and spent their five years in Nam in the lap of luxury. How stupid do these guys think the American people are? I guess we are supposed to believe that McCain forgot all of his military training leading up to his capture. Ridiculous. |

...when he was in his 20s, Obama admitted he spent portions of those years doing recreational drugs and trying to find out how black or white he was. He came to the conclusion that his grandmother was a racist "typical white person". the next several years he spent with blatantly anti-American and anti-whitey friends and mentors. This qualifies Obama to be president, HOW? |

When's the last time Obama has addressed something truly substantive?
Two weeks ago, he and the now disappeared (back of the bus) foreign policy adviser Susan Rice spent several days cleaning up foreign policy fumbles that each of them had made.
Towards the end of that week, the energy issue really exploded, and the Democrats have absolutely nothing for us because of the environmental arm of their party. They have nothing but wind, solar, and two sticks for us to rub together.
On top of that, Obama had to walk through that minefield of three Supreme Court decisions in which he essentially had to figure out how to drive to the middle (the rape case and the gun case) without appearing to be inconsistent. At the same time, he's dealing with his abandonment of campaign finance and his position on FISA.
Last but not least, he had to figure out how to kiss up to the Clintons.
I wouldn't be surprised if they just offered up Clark as a target to get the heat off of him. I'm even more convinced of this as I see that he snuck out his position on gay marriage.
Anymore, I don't know how to criticize him because I don't know where he stands on anything.
McCain should return to energy because without a comprehensive plan, the rest of the agenda is just conversation. |

It seems as though the libs base John McCain's ability to lead this Nation solely rests upon his experience in Vietnam, His time in Vietnam definately is just one part that makes up the man. He has more realistic goals than Obama, who is promising a near utopia, at my expense! McCain has the years of life experience under his belt, that leads me to have more confidence in his wisdom & how to apply it. Obama is a "yes" man, he is a creation of the radical left that is becoming more empowered & is chomping at the bit to get their hands on power, so that their socialistic agenda can become a reality. The "Nanny" state is an appropriate description. |

McCain is a heroe pure and simple. If anyone in this election should be revered, it is John McCain. He is a man of integrity and backbone, but this is the leftist way - lie, lie, lie = truth. At least that's what they think. The left believe their own lies and propaganda and cannot understand why others don't believe. They are snakes in the grass! |

The lefties can't be serious about this issue. Got to think that they have better issues -- economy for instance -- from which this McCain issue can only divert attention. Why would they do this?
On the other hand, let them run at the mouth. They have no substance in their ideas anyway -- bankrupt socialist ideas lead to bankrupt nations and societies.
McCain's record of service is truly honorable. I just love it when Dems shoot themselves in the foot. |

There are names that inhabit a pantheon. Some did not come back; some arrived so tattered as to scarcely resemble their former selves. We know them as heroes.
John McCain, like Gen. Jonathon Wainwright of Baatan and Corridor returned home tattered and shattered. Like Gen. Wainwright, he survived a brutal foe. Like Gen. Wainwright, he inhabits a unique place in the conscience of Americans.
Other names etched in the pantheon include Col. Fred Cherry whose time at the Hanoi Hilton after ejecting over North Vietnam included the type of medical care that would be visited upon Sen. McCain. Only on the island of Dr. Moreau would medical attention for these downed fliers have been more unforgiving.
Like Gen. Wainwright and Col. Cherry, John McCain demonstrates his war imprisonment with dignity and modesty in his daily life.
We know John McCain by one word that is etched deep in our understanding of him. One word that is known by those that remember Gen. Wainwright, Col. Cherry, the airmen of Stalag Luft I and III, those that remember Harold Russell's loss and his life after that loss, and those that can evoke Sgt. York and Audie Murphy as well as all the others; we know them by the word duty.
Duty is where they excelled. Duty is their claim to the roll. Call the roll. Call Sen. McCain.
