The difference is that some liberal dingbat thinks Franken is nice when NEWSPAPERS (not just bloggers- bloggers repeated the stories from local newspapers) show differently. Franken is a nasty person who cheats on taxes and can't run a business.
No one ever accused Cheney of being "nice". Besides, I'VE told Leahy (from my living room) much worse than to "go #@!!" himself.
You should hear the things I say about Obama and Pelosi! |
Well, Tread, because a bunch of right-wing blogs post unflattering things about Al, they must be true, right? I don't doubt that because he's written provocative things, he's probably been provoked plenty by wingnuts. He perhaps has a temper. I think he wrote once that he wanted to punch Sean Hannity in the face. (Man, I would give all of my life savings to see Al Franken punch Sean Hannity in the face.) Wonder if you complained when Cheney told Leahey to "go &%$@ yourself." |

BLOGS REACT TO AL FRANKEN’S MEAN-SPRIRITED AND UNMINNESOTAN BEHAVIOR By Michael B. Brodkorb | January 24, 2008 "In this case, though, it seems especially egregious. Fritz just wanted to meet [Al Franken], shake his hand, and had no intention to confront the supposed comedian. Instead of acting with some grace when confronted by the sight of a conservative at Carleton — admittedly a rare event — Franken found it amusing to pick on him in a setting where Franken figured he had the overwhelming advantage over the undergraduate in terms of numbers. It's the same kind of mentality bullies use in middle-school locker rooms to humiliate their victims, and with him mocking Fritz's nervous habits, similar tactics as well." Source: Captain's Quarters, January 24, 2008 "[Al Franken] has a personality that can charitably be described as volatile, and a mean streak a mile wide. He has a history of getting into physical altercations. One that I narrowly missed observing occurred at the 2004 Republican Convention when he got into a shouting-and-shoving match with a producer of Laura Ingraham's radio show." Source: Power Line, January 24, 2008 "After the rally, students posed for photos with Mr. Franken's. Apparently his treatment of one of the conservative students, Peter Fritz, was less than what one would expect from a US Senate candidate. I know Peter. He is the epitome of a knowledgeable, responsible, articulate, intelligent, polite young man. He treats all with respect. According to this write-up in the Mpls. Star Tribune, the same cannot be said of some DFL students nor Mr. Franken." Source: SCSU Scholars, January 24, 2008 "A guy who would lash out at a conservative college student who simply didn't want to have his picture taken with him is not someone who ought to be in the Senate–I hope that the citizens of Minnesota will realize that." Monday, February 02, 2009 Franken Has Tax Problems, Too Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 2:39 PM President Obama’s Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Health and Human Services Secretary nominee Tom Daschle have been getting some attention regarding their failure to pay taxes, but what about Al Franken?
Franken, who is still fighting incumbent GOP Sen. Norm Coleman for Minnesota’s Senate seat, failed to pay at least $70,000 in taxes to 17 states prior to running for office. Minnesota’s Star Tribune reported Franken was paid to appear at a number of celebrity appearances across the country and file taxes appropriately in those states since 2003. Franken’s team released a spreadsheet to media detailing the debt through the campaign, but there has not been any verification Franken has actually paid them down yet.
Franken refused to answer questions and blamed his attorney Allen Chanzis for the error-- much like Geithner blamed the mass-market tax software for his failure to pay $34,000 in taxes.

Read his books. You may disagree with his ideology, or his conclusions, but the guy is smart, witty, a good writer, and backs up his opinions with facts. I'd put his brain up against 90% of the Senators of either party. I'm not thrilled to give either party this kind of a monopoly on power, but I am happy Franken's finally in there. I think it's just 'cause most of you don't like a few dirty jokes he's told, you're branding him "buffoon."
(Man, the hate spewed on these boards is breathtaking!)

After all, Congress is nothing but a late night comedy show. A badly written one. |

expensive, comprehensive sales courses learned (hopefully) how to read a person's body language, such as sighing when they make a decision, fold their arms or play with their mouth when they are not buying the spiel and a grunch of other readings of appearance and mannerisms.
One person who will likely be untrustworthy and needs to be placed under a strong contract is a man (or woman, I suppose) with a slack, flappy-lipped mouth.
Look at Al Frankan's mouth and lips. |

Please. Can't one of you wingnut dimbulbs make sense? |
How many of you watched every single member of the DemoCrapheaded trash in the New York Legislation refused to rise and place their hands over their hearts during the Pledge of Allegiance?
They claim it was because a Republican was leading the pledge, but we all know this was nothing more than another display of exactly how un-American all DemoCrapheaded POS truly are.
And, this applies to any of you who vote for any of these POS. |
There's no better word for Franken. In fact, we should all call him Senator Buffoon from now on. Everyone will know exactly about whom we are talking.
never made any bones about it. You all do spew hate but the reason I hate you is because you are all helping a maniacal hitler-loving commie ruin my country with your ignorance, stupidity and gullibility! |
i was a huge fan of Mac's locker room humor. never complained about it. thought it was a redeeming aspect to the man.
i got it. you just make things up, right?! |
Keep up the hate, girl!
And to think you almost convinced us all today that it was the Libruls who spew hate. |
Colemans demeanor makes me suspect that he was paid off. |
with the other Nefarious buffoons in the MN Senate! I never had any doubts the crooked Liberal scum would find a way to insert him into their world of evil and corruption.

There is an ongoing criminal conspiracy among Obama supporters in Nashville to cover up crimes committed by his campaign in 2007, 2008 and 2009. These crimes include, but are not limited to, VOTER FRAUD, IDENTITY THEFT, COMPUTER THEFT, INVASION OF PRIVACY and petty BURGLARIES similar to WATERGATE.
Judge Tom w. Brothers and a Partner in Karl Dean's favorite FIRM, Bass Berry & Sims, were INDICTED once and Tom w. Brothers and Bass Berry and Sims will be INDICTED again and CONVICTED this time.
When Nashville Judge Tom w. Brothers was first INDICTED for Drug Money Laundering Karl Dean was the Public Defender FIXING Cases his Wife's FIRM, Bass, Berry & Sims.
According to an old Law School friend of mine who was working for the DEA when Tom Brothers was INDICTED for DRUG MONEY Laundering, Bass, Berry & Sims was the biggest Drug Money Laundering FIRM in the Southeast.
My DEA Agent Friend's words were similar to what Phil Williams of http://www.NewsChannel5.com wrote about Russell Brothers. According to Phil Williams, Russell Brothers was a "Giant among Giants" in the Drug Smuggling Business.
Somehow the Deans accumulated a "reported" Fortune of $100 Million despite the fact that they both grew up poor. The cover story spun by the Deans is that Ms. Dean's STINGY MISER Uncle gave her the money.
Coincidentally, the Deans' cover story was similar to Tom Brothers' cover story about where the money that he was LAUNDERING for his Convicted FELON Uncle Russell's Drug Money came from.
Tom Brothers testified at his trial that he thought, "Uncle Russell got the millions from selling insurance for CNA."

is truly "cartoonish".
Fits right in with "NAMBLA Man" Barney Frank, "Herman Munster" Kerry, "Queen Bee-otch" Pelosi and "Driver of the Millenium" Ted Kennedy....... |

on their side of the aisle.
This Frankenwhine is a perfect example. All of the usual Lefties pour out in defense of this major buffoon.
The guy has essentially been videotaped several times telling lies---a couple of which would have been hugely embarrassing for anyone----But, not for he who has no dignity nor principles.
Liberals come on here and laugh off his out-and-out character smears, and lies, and vile berating of others----it's all very cavalierly referred to as "telling a joke or two".
When you possess NO principles, these are all defensible acts.

What the hell does this say about the citizens of Minnesota? |
Here's some restoration, reformation, revolution or whatever you want to call it that Our Founding Fathers supported:
1) Advertise and Promote the Fact that you are forming a Grand Jury in Blogs, Local Newspapers and Community Organizations.
2) Form the Grand Jury and select a Foreman.
3) Select a Private Attorney General to make Presentments to Grand Jury, if local DA refuses to make presentments.
4) Select a convenient Meeting Place.
5) Communicate with all Citizens who have criminal information to present.
6) Schedule presentments by said Citizens.
7) Subpoena documents from Government Offices and Officials.
8) Schedule presentment of said Documents to Grand Jury by Grand Jury Attorney General.
7. Have Grand Jury Attorney General present said Documents to Grand Jury.
8) After investigation and deliberation is completed, vote and issue a True Bill (Indictment) or No True Bill.
9) Announce all Indictments to the Press.
10) Serve the Indictment on the Judiciary for the Issuance of Arrest Warrants.

"Tell me something I don't know, DUMMIE!"
The totality of things that you obviously do not know is of a truly staggering magnitude.
In case you didn't understand what I was saying there, apparently you know nothing except how to cut and paste the same boring text into your comments. |
United States Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia ruled in the case of United States vs. Williams, 504 U.S. 36 at 48 (1992): “Rooted in long centuries of Anglo-American history, Hannah v. Larche, 363 US 420, 490 (1960) with J. Frankfurter concurring in result, the Grand Jury is mentioned in the Bill of Rights, but not in the body of the Constitution. It has not been textually assigned, therefore, to any of the three branches described in the first three Articles. It is a constitutional fixture in its own right.”

thing I don't know, DUMMIE! |
"the Grand Jury is mentioned in the Bill of Rights, but not in the body of the Constitution."
Also true of the right to keep and bear arms. Are you contending that the Bill of Rights is somehow a lesser or weaker part of the Constitution?
I don't understand why you refer to that ruling. It says nothing that would imply that citizens can form legitimate grand juries independent of the federal justice system. It's about the evidence that the government can and must present to a duly-constituted grand jury. You people pretending to form grand juries are just children playing at being grown-ups.
I suppose it's useful in that it keeps you off the streets and provides entertainment to the rest of us. |

"Why is everyone ignoring the fact that Al Franken was born in Kenya?"
Because it takes a special talent and that is a role that only you can perform. |

Have you considered printing your own $20 bills? Surely if you can form your own justice system independently of the legitimate government, you can form your own federal reserve.
I guess the little kids don't play "mommy and daddy" anymore; they play "grand jury."
Why is everyone ignoring the fact that Al Franken was born in Kenya? |
And it's been declared...
Franken is definitely a, BUFFOON. |

Miss Vicky;
Leave well enough alone? Have you not seen the unemployment numbers? Have you not seen 45 banks fold? Have you not seen the Automobile Industry suffer terribly, with their suppliers sure to follow? We're as close to a recession as I have seen in my lifetime and you actually think that all we have to do is " leave things alone "? As I said before, the only thing worse than action is inaction. If Obama fails, the country fails. Regardless of which political party you favor, you'd be a fool to wish for the above. And lastly, please try to remember which party started this downfall. 10 billion a month for a war that was unwarrented, not to mention the loss of life and limb for both Americans and Iragi's was the most foolish adventure since Vietnam, and the most costly. |

He'll fit in with his other Socialist clowns! |

we'll see what happens to the Reeps in MN. a few years ago, they were turning one of the "Dukakis 10" into a purple state. presumably, Minnesotans cannot be too pleased with the Natl Republicans denying them representation.
do you guys ever stop overplaying hands? you may win some battles, but man have you lost the war!! |

"...cheat as he did..."
With respect to Coleman and your statement regarding that he cheated in the election, please provide some specific examples (include dates, quotes, locations, precincts, etc.) to support your assertion. |
Seems funny that you would fault Coleman for using the Court System when Al Gore used the courts in 2000--you validated my point--Which is it --use courts or not--so much for "count all the votes" as we heard in 2000--Guess it only works when Dems scream it. |
I don't live anywhere near Minnesota so I'm not a Michelle Bachmann expert. I have been to her website and seen various articles she has written. If you think Al Franken is smarter and a better representative then you are proof of how strange Minnesota voters are. The only reason I can see for electing Al Franken to national office is that you are trying to surpass CA in having the dumbest members of congress in the nation. |
Hey, backwards man! Didn't you know that Al Franken - Senator Franken to you - had four different courts of law say that he DID, in fact, win the election? Funny thing--it turns out that Coleman is the guy who doesn't seem to be able to win, try as he might, cheat as he did, frivolous law suit after frivolous law suit.
Perhaps, LittleL, getting things back asswards is a Republican quirk? |
powerful and prosperous Country ever, why not leave well enough alone? America has been successful, with its ups and downs, without the 'drastic' changes/programs the gambling, utopio seeker Prez has wished upon us! Haste makes waste, while the 'Mighty Mouth' Prez., has only been in office six months, he has promoted six 'years' worth of change. What is so scary and objectionable is, he does so without there being a full accounting and awareness of pertinent details. Imagine, voting on long term and permanent, controling politics, that alter lives etc., without allowing time to become informed and think about all that is involved! Irresponsible to say the least! Beware the recession improvement, gain may turn into an inflation, depression! Ex Democrat |
Seems the Dems can't win at the ballot box so they again resort to the courts. Activist Judges are doing in 10 years what Russia could not in 100.
Can't wait for his Sat Night Live Style to be seen on the floor of the Senate--So Sad |
The Minnesota Supreme Court did the Republicans a great favor.
Given the on-going FBI investigation into Coleman's, his wife's and his business partner's shady financial dealings, the judges may have prevented the picture of a Senator Coleman being frog-marched in front of the Capitol. |

Al Franken

Franken is Jim Traficant, without the color of personality or likability. He does however share with Traficant, developmental abnormalities that are best handled with medication or left to run character and judgment amuck.
Franken is Traficant in that Fraknen will take bribes, get tanked and be intoxicated at work and will lie and bribe to evade detection.
Minnesota meets millstone. |
Miss Vicky;
You might be right...then again you might be wrong. Assumptions are easily made, but when proven incorrect they serve little purpose. What will the GOP say if Obama pulls us out of this recession ( some say depression ). I would suggest waiting to see the results before castigating a President whose been in office a bit more than 6 months. As for the Republicans, they had best move closer to the center lest they become an obsolete party. Fear of action leads to inaction, and inaction is our greatest enemy. |

How dare you question the self righteous? How dare you make effort to bring about accountability to the rantings and narcissistic musings of a loser.
Al Franken is no BUFFOON because all he did was tell a "couple of jokes". Pay no attention to the many examples of wacky LIES Franken attempted to spread about several people. Doggone shame that some of these are caught on video----examples of which I already posted below.
And this is the character being defended by the buffoons on these threads. |

have the misguided Prez following Bushs lead only more waste etc., we have the corrupt Acorn and Chicago way, sailing right along with America now a 'captive' audience! bomb bomb' Irans developing Nukes! All of us would like to stop such power, in the hands of Evil Dictators. The naive Prez., will have egg on his face if he tries to talk those crazies out of their Nuclear ambitions. It ain't gonna happen, Ha! |

Who's going to want to sit in that chair after he's been doing God-Knows-what in it for 6 years...YUK!!! |

I don't remember you being so forgiving with McCain's "locker room humor". Hell he was joking with the "bomb bomb bomb Iran thing and you still bring it up. Please explain the diff. in your reasoning. |
I hope you choke on a chicken bone. |
No fixation, just pride that we have a great first lady.
Thanks for the menu tips. Are you suggesting there is something wrong with arugula? I may have some tonight with shaved romano reggiano and EVOO, sliced vine tomatoes and some ciabatta. You can get that at your Food Lion, right?
The rest of your post is predicated on falsehoods and you know it. You are so hateful and jealous. Why is that? Because modernity is scary? |
I can't wait for O'Reilly tonight. He's going to explode on live TV! |
"I guess it is true, America as a whole is stupid."
Well, a minimum of 52%, anyway. |
How convenient of Minnesota and the court to declare Franken the winner. This vulgar, low-life wannabe comedian will make it to D.C. just in time for the Senate's summer session of screwing the American people. Al Franken has failed at everything he has ever done...comedy, television, radio, so you can expect similar results during his time "legislating," if that's what you want to call it. Looks like the cowardly lion Harry Reid pulled some strings to get this completed so he can get his 60 votes and prevent the Republicans from a filibuster on health care reform and whatever garbage Congress wants to ram down our throats. On top of that, Judge Sotomayor will get confirmed in a heartbeat. Unbelievable. Wake up people!! Can't you see what is happening here? I guess it is true, America as a whole is stupid. |
mouth shut. The Beltway press lapdawgs won't be able to stay away from his eager chops. Ohhhhh, it's gonna be fascinating to see the elapsed time 'tween now and stepping in it.
Funny, I'll never get it--I admit--how a state with as solid, sensible, Scandinavian stock residents as Minnesooooota can elect Jesse the Freak Ventura and this Far Left Imbecile. |
Elections have consequences.
He sure did run Air America into the ground, didn't he? |
and note what I've said above about the GOP. It's just that Franken is especially foul.
"someone raped a gorilla? Sexist and racist"
Now that, dear sloanpoodledog, is funny. I'll let McCain know that his jokes MUST get better or we're going to put you out there in his place. |
Yes, I agree, that list of liberal politicians is very fine. Good thing I don't call myself a "family values" hypocrite or I might be embarrassed right now. |
You're taking an ancient quote from the Tuczon Citizen, known for its liberal slant, years of yellow journalism and blatant disregard of defamation laws, as fact.
You're attempting to ameliorate Franken's lewd behavior by evocating a quote where the only proof that it was ever even said was in a glorified tabloid. Congratulations, you're officially desperate for a comeback.
But don't let me discourage you, Miss I Figured Out The Name Change Tool So I Can Puppet Account, from throwing your full support behind a perverted, gutter-mouthed creep without a brain cell worth using from ear to ear. |
Bush, Cheney, Rove, and their cohorts have screwed up the Republican Party so badly that even a COMEDIAN is elected to the Senate in Minnesota. Unless the GOP turns away from its eletist attitude, America will become a one-party country. Wake up people! Notice has been served and it would behoove you to grasp the ramifications. |
The stupid voters go ahead and "steal" another election from Republicans. |
you like lists I guess, here is another list.kennedy feinstein pelosi frank dodd durbin boxer jefferson, burris, rangle. |
Yeah, nevermind that Coleman has already BEEN that embarrassment that Minnesotans will have to live down for years. Dude, you need to grow up and realize that Coleman, that litigious loser who concurrently faced an ethics investigation while he wasted donations and court time on his frivolous lawsuits, is the poster boy for embarrassments. I'd say Franken has plenty of material for another hilarious send up on the Republican Party, but will wait until his terms are up to make millions off of the GOP's various amazing embarrassment so far this year. |
Someone raped a gorilla!? Sexist and racist! |
I hadn't heard anything about Michey for a few days. It was nice. Darn you. You really have a fixation on that creature, don't you!
Eat some arugula, buy some ugly tennies. Go tear some scholarships out of poor children's hands. Refuse to admit poor folk to your place of biz. It'll be JUST like she's right there, beside you...whispering in your ear.. |
The SCOTUS just ruled yesterday to judge against unfairness or discrimination in the fire fighter case and today the Minn. SC throws that notion away and gives up one of its highest offices in the country to personal interpretation.
from the politico: "Coleman's team argued that scores of ballots were wrongfully rejected and violated the Constitution's equal protection argument since election officials used different standards for counting thousands of absentee ballots. It called for the case to be remanded to lower court so that more ballots could be opened. But Franken's team successfully convinced the court otherwise and argued that it's not unusual for ballots to be rejected for any number of reasons." |
There are some people who put party before country and power before truth. you be one of those folks. We know you were one that gave W all the respect during his 8 years, Right. |
>would much rather enjoy the likes of Vitter, Craig, Sanford and Ensign in their ranks
Putting Craig in the same sentence with these guys is an injustice to Senator Craig. That whole situation was bullhockey and you libs know it. Just like with Senator Specter and "Macaca," you make something up where there is nothing in order to try and advance your ridiculous Marxist agenda.
You also seem to have a selective memory, as conservatives have been very vocal about morality, especially when it comes to the Republican party. |
I am DEF rooting against your(and Barry's and Al's, etc) Amerika, your 'truth'. I hope you fail miserably. Tit(I hope that doesn't make Al start 'rooting' for the nipple!) for tat, my friend. |
to a former wrestler and a former comedian/actor. So, Carol, he's not very 'solid'.
Carol, your bitterness at losing out the law review presidency makes your blogs so funny. Go to a therapist. Maybe a professional can make you realize that hoping for Obama and the country to fail is a mental illness, and very, very unpatriotic. Keep manipulating the silly masses here, Carol. I suppose it pays the mortgage on that manse in San Marino.
And folks, those who rag on Michelle Obama for going inactive with her law license from Harvard (depriving someone of a seat, etc) Liebau is also inactive. http://members.calbar.ca.gov/search/member_detail.aspx?x=2 34742) Guess someone else was deprived. |
You didn't seem to mind when McCain told a rape joke that involved a GORILLA. Why the double standard, fake? |
"Please, please NRSC and everyone else -- train your cameras on Senator Franken. I'll bet anyone that he's going to embarrass both himself and his state."
Camera's are regularly turned on congressional buffoons. Look at Babs Boxer, for instance. And she just keeps getting elected.
Both paries are too far gone. Congress is likely too far gone, and the electorate is likely too far gone, as evidenced by the fact that it would elect clowns such as Franken and Boxer. It's why my friend the blogger Caedmon refers to Washington as the "klounocracy":
http://novaemilitiae.squarespace.com/periodic-musings-blog/ 2006/10/16/as-the-2006-elections-draw-near-.html
See, the Repubs would much rather enjoy the likes of Vitter, Craig, Sanford and Ensign in their ranks than a man who's been faithful to his wife for over 30 years and truly DOES display those family values that the Republicans claim is the backbone of their duplicitous Party. |
Buffoon 'cause of his diaper shot, etc.
But, hey: he's your guy, so enjoy the ride. I agree with Carol. A Frankin 'win' should have many, many silver linings!
Go Al! YES WE CAN! Hope and change me, baby! |
"I'll bet anyone that he's going to embarrass both himself and his state."
See Bachmann, Michelle. |
If you consider rape to be funny, I guess you could say that PL. |
why? because Franken has told a joke or two in his time? yeesh. leave it to the Reeps, and a little locker-room humor disqualifies a guy for high office.
And Carol, as for the hope and change--we know you are rooting against America. That's fine. There are some people who put party before country and power before truth. you be one of those folks. at long last, truth and country has a supermajority. |
"Let us (continue to) await with interest the "hope" and "change" that they've been promising Americans for so long."
I imagine all the deceased that voted for Franken are excited. At least they'll take solace in knowing we won't spend the next decade arguing about how it was illegitimate and that he stole the election. |
