She could plan retiring from public life to become a full-time hockey mom--maybe it is.
She could plan running for senate, a sensible next step.
She could plan running for president, which means she suffers from the same-inflated sense of self importance as most other politicians.
She had little experience as mayor and little experience as governor. She lacked awareness of national/international affairs. Any extemporaneous remarks came across as random work association.
McCain chose her because (1) she could energize evangelical wing voters who remained tepid about his candidacy and (2)she was a woman.
McCain descended into group identity politics-- she's a woman, she'll pick up disenchanted Hillary supporters. Palin herself even claimed to be following in Hillary's footsteps to shatter that glass ceiling. And we will appear as progessive as the Democrats who chose a black candidate. All the while "conservative" commentators flatulated about how she gave the Repoublican party a new look compared to the stodgy old white man party to which they were accustomed. (Did they look at her running mate?
During the liberal Bush years, Republicans had trouble enough just trying to be Republicans. What made us think we could be Democrats? |

AC- I love it “my guy”! Hhhhmmmmm…who has been the one who has constantly stated that neo-conservatism is a losing ideology, which Bush adhered to? Oh yeah, that’s right it was me. Actually Bush was a fiscal moderate like the loser McShame. No guys like me stand for traditional conservatism in the mold of Reagan. Sarah Palin is the new Reagan on the block, better deal with it because she is not going awa
Me- I don't even think you understand what a "Neo-Conservative" is. Short definition. It's an ex-democrat who left the Democrats because they were wobbly on defense after McGovern. In more modern parlance, it's one of these chickenhawks who thinks we should send other people's kids off to die in the Middle East to expand an empire.
|
|
AC-Yeah you and you liberal loser “friends”, the radical fringe of society…LOL Yeah sure you losers represent America, yeah right!
Me- Ummmm, yeah, considering they WON the election by the biggest margin a Democrat has won by since 1964 AND the most votes a presidential candidate has gotten EVER.
Of course, Palin was popular in the part of the country you live where they filmed "Deliverence", but out here in the rest of the country, there was a big "WTF?" Most of the people I talked to were people who voted for Bush in 2004.
I really thought Palin was a good pick when McCain made it. Even defended her. She was a happy medium between Romney and Huckabee. She gave McCain a chance to pick up some of those disaffected white women who supported Hillary.
And then came the Chinese water torture of little dollops dripping out. The corruption, the ignorance of issues, the disasterious interviews, the stories about her trailer trash family life. The Crazy religious beliefs about evolution and the Witch Hunter from Kenya who blessed her.
Bottom line, though, is that you "Theo-Cons", as I like to call you, are in lock step with these fools on foreign policy. After all, how can Jesus come back if the Muslims control the Holy Land.

But I am waiting for you to show me the post where Jesus said that outsourcing your job to China was a good thing.
Not the one that praises hard work. Capitalists don't work hard, they make money on the hard work of others.

But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. -- Luke 6:24
Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. -- James 5:1”
I love it when liberals quote Sacred Scripture, always never knowing what they are talking about. Do these verses condemn capitalism? No these passages are about those who do not care for the poor. Saint John and Saint James came from a family with servants which meant they had wealth, as did Joanna the wife of Herod’s steward, Saint Mark also came from a wealthy family. Abraham was wealthy, as was Issac, Jacob, so was King David, Solomon, and the rest of the Kings (yep that included Godly ones). The Book of Proverbs speaks quite a bit about working and enjoying your labor. So what is being condemned, capitalism? No, it is a lack of concern for the poor, this has to do with charity and corruption and not capitalism. You can find this in the story of Lazarus and the rich man and 2 Thes. 3:10 Saint Paul you don’t work then you don’t eat. Funny what the Bible condemns in both Testaments is exactly people like Joe Biden and Dumbo. Dumbo doesn’t even help his own family that is dirt poor. Biden barley gives a cent to charity.
I find it funny that The Obama Drone uses the King James Bible. Hey how many of you guys wanna bet that Eugene The Obama Drone went to one of his amateur blogs copied and pasted a couple of verse in Biblical books which he never read? LOL

CNN said one reason Palin might have stepped down as Governor of Alaska, because of the 2012 election for the house or the senate??(can't remember specifically) If this opening turns out to be one Palin's reasons for resigning as governor, will this hurt her chances as being elected for this position? CNN has her second in the running behind Mitt Romney. Would she even have a chance if she decided to run in 2012?? |

Me- Right, what crazy, embarrassing thing is she going to do next? Get into another fight with a comedian?
AC- Sarah Palin is the kind of leader that history is going to remember, she is an innovator, she breaks the mold and defeats her enemies and crushes anything that stands in the way of her goals. Trust me "The Northern Storm" is coming to the White House in 2012.
Me- Guy, she won on election against a corrupt governor, and couldn't hack the job, apparently.

"Here comes "The Northern Storm". If the Demoncrats had any brains they would have left this women alone."
Women? You mean woman, don't you. Unless you're saying she has multiple personality disorder.
" Instead by constantly attacking her not only in the media but most vehemently by misusing Alaska's ethics laws against Palin in an attempt to financially break her so that she would not be able to play a role on the national scene in both 2010 and 2012."
Me- Oh, please. How many bogus Independent Counsul investigations were brought up against Clinton and for that Matter, Reagan and Bush?
"If they thought this would take her out of the game then they were badly mistaken, now Palin has pledged to take the fight to the Demoncrats in the lower 48 and she is now free from the main weapon the Dems were using against her. AC- Many pundits (most who were already dead set against her) have claimed that this unusual strategy will only harm her, but I think otherwise. I say this because now Palin is free to make as much money as she can in speaking fees, collect money for her PAC, campaign for Republicans nationally, become a leading voice against Obama, write her book, and build a powerful Republican machine for 2012.
Me- Do you really think the same GOP insiders who despised her before this are going to let her? Heck, please read the Vanity Fair article. It was her fellow Republicans who let loose on her.

SOrry, Ronna, I take a look at what Hillary Clinton has been accused of in the last 16 years. Being a lesbian, killing Vince Foster, having sex with Vince Foster. All sorts of baseless accusations of corruption that Ken Starr spent 70 million investigating for years, jokes about her daughter being Janet Reno's (by John McCain) jokes about her daughter being a dog (by Rush "Oxycotin" Limbaugh).
Hillary never gave up, never quit. And even when she lost, she was still gracious enough to join Obama's cabinet, knowing it probably all but eliminates any possibility of her running in the future.
Maybe politics is too mean and nasty for normal people anymore... |
|
Actually, I've been spending most of the day cleaning house, maybe taking a break to see how you nutters are reacting to your pin-up girl leaving you at the altar... which is damned funny to watch you all spin...
But seriously, Doooooooode, you sound like an old stick in the mud. I mean, if you want to appeal to the young generation, you got to be hip and stuff and relate. That's what Obama did.
Let's take my response to the Teabagger... I clearly refuted his points about Obama voting present. Anyone who says that is WOEFULLY ignorant of Illinois politics. But you guys keep repeating that like it's true. Oh, yeah, but you said "teabagger"... Gosh. that's not right. |
|
but people should be able to see past the label "quitter" and realize there could not have been any better reasons for her leaving the job prematurely.
Remember that she and her staff were spending up to 80% of their time dealing with one stupid, petty allegation of wrongdoing after the other, which cost those making those allegations ZERO, not one thin dime, and there were (15 of them just last year.) But the animosity-run-amok has cost her and Todd upward of half a million dollars to. The vile cretins were not going to stop. She had no time for the real business of governing Alaska because of the animals who were out for her blood. The whole ordeal was wearing on everyone in her office, just just Sarah. And it wasn't just Todd and her children who were suffering, it was her entire family, and Todd's family and their friends were all being effected by it as well.
With all that was going on she felt that she was not being an effective leader because the vile vermin shiit called liberals were determined to ruin her any way they could. The vicious libtards not only attacked her for spending money on clothes that the RNC went out and spent, (not she herself) they attacked her oldest daughter for doing what 700,000 other teenage girls did last year... - get pregnant without being married- but the worst thing of all, was when they showed their cowardice and lower-than-dirt, total lack of any character when they attacked a poor, defenseless baby who was born with Down's syndrome. What vile vicious heaartless scum they are.
And just think - if Sarah can do more good out in the civilian world helping other Conservative candidates strengthen the party, I say what the hell? We need all the help we can get right now don't we?
One last thought: Maybe those dissenters among you might wonder what it would be like - to walk a mile in her shoes. |
|
I'm not as sharp with my insults as you. I get less practice. And I didn't have that much time. I had a great brunch with friends and you..... well you apparently were here chasing windmills again. (Or is it still?)
I do need to start using terms like dude, cool and teabag more to match your intellect.
Again, you want me to debate your points? Grow up and stop acting like my teenage nephew's. And BTW, they don't think I'm cool either. Just the way it should be.
Try to lay of off the bile Ax. It's bad for the heart. Too much stress and all.
Enjoy!

You sat around all day and that was the most clever thing you could come up with? |

Keep stewing AX.
I remain Uncool Eugene. |

Sigh- Here we go again.
First, the "Present" in the Senate issue. Obama voted "Present" in the Illinois Senate 130 times out of 4000 votes taken in the IL legislature. Most of those were on peliminary versions of bills where he was signalling a willingness to work with a bill's sponsor, and he voted yes or no on the final version.
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/01/24/fact_ check_obamas_present_votes/
Now, as to the conduct in the US Senate when he AND McCain and Biden and H. Clinton were running for President. Yup, ALL of them missed some sessions. If you want to criticize Obama for doing that, you really should criticize the rest of them for doing the same. Otherwise, you are being kind of selective in your outrage.
The moment I knew McCain was toast was when he insisted on cancelling a debate and flying back to Washington to address the crisis. He was trying to be dramatic, but he looked like an old man who couldn't multi-task.
Okay, your other point is that she is doing Alaska a favor by stepping aside. Maybe. But she wouldn't need to do so if her conduct in office wasn't so bad to start with. Come on, firing her director of safety because he wouldn't carry out her vendetta against her ex-brother-in-law. She inflicted a lot of trouble on herself.
More to the point, I think she shows herself to be not up to the job. If she thinks Alaska politics are tough, wait until she gets to Washington. Now, defending George W. Bush for a moment, I think where he truly failed was that as Governor of Texas, he was able to work across party lines, and found it impossible to do so in Washington. It wasn't that kind of environment. |
|
a lot of kettles calling the pot black. NOT one of you Obamabots have any thing to crow about, when it comes to quitting a job in mid term. Barry Soetoro a.k.a Barack Obama was "present" in the U.S. Senate, being PAID by all of us some 170 k, give or take a buck or two, for something like 143 days out of his six year elected term.. and not consecutively..and went out and about electioneering for POTUS ON OUR DIME!
Sarah has the decency to step down when her effectiveness has been nullified by the vicious attacks from media and their leftie drones in and out of politics, including cruel attacks on a year old baby who doesn't fit their criteris of 'perfect.' And she said that she didn't think it was right to continue to take the Alaskan taxpayers money if she couldn't do her job. And unlike the usurper in chief, she HAS experience, actually working instead of inciting trouble as a community organizer..a.k.a. communist activist.

Me- Hey, I have a very good view of this country. I just don't whitewash it and try to make it out to be something it isn't.
We have much to be proud of, and a lot to be ashamed of. I can look to my German ancestors who came here for oppurtunity in the 1930's when their country went into the crapper, but I can also look towards my Cherokee Ancestors who had their land stolen from them by the guy on the $20 and forced to walk the Trail of Tears.
One has to recognize one's flaws and mistakes as well as one's virtues and accomplishments in order to grow and improve, no? THis applies to both people and countries. |

"Actually, you were. The foundation was laid to ultimately overturn slavery advance rights for everyone, not only in the United States, but across the globe - again, and again, and again - In Europe, in Asia, in (unfortunately only half of ) the Korean peninsula, in mesopotamia, in Afghanistan, in Japan, etc. etc. The arc of freedom sweeping has relied heavily on the free peoples of the United Stated of America. While we have our negative legacies as well, the overwhelmingly positive contribution of the USA and her defenders is UNDENIABLE. Thank you men and women of our armed forces and thank you to all the great patriots past and present for you service to this nation and to sublime ideals."
Horse sh!t. First, had we not managed to throw out the British, we not only STILL be a Democracy today (after all, Canada is) but the stain that is slavery would have ended a lot sooner. The British Empire abolished Slavery in 1835, 30 years before our Freedom loving country did.
Secondly, you give all this credit for us spreading democracy, like people in the rest of the world had no idea about it until we came along. You know, it's that kind of arrogant self-importance that makes most of the world resent us. On top of that, our record on supporting Democracy is not without blemish. How many Somozas, Batistas, Shahs, Marcoses did we support during the Cold War because "They were jerks, but theywere OUR jerks"? Too many.
We didn't establish Democracy in South Korea. We left them with a military dictatorship, and they didn't get anywhere near Democracy until the late 1980's. The South Koreans had to finish the job themselves... |

your resentment shines through--as it always does. listen. busy. bye.. |

Top of the day to you and the MISSUS, sir. WOW! I receive your experiences yesterday with such great warmth and appreciation for another who has the ability to do so.
It was a grand day, indeed.
I would invite you to read the words of another poster, "wise woman". Now that did tug at my heart in a way that yours was with that '50 Olds.
And I hope that you are treating that Lexus "RX" with special care, my friend. If not----you'll take pleasure to know that the, "CLUNKER LAW" is there to fall back on. |

Why did SNL do a special and target Palin? C'mon Dana, why would a network do such a thing?
Answer: They were worried - very worried that Palin was going to stop The One. The only chance they had was to turn her into a laughingstock, and in a lot of people's minds, they did. The press and SNL could just as easily had accentuated all of Palin's virtues (self made politician, working Mom, self-assured, etc. etc.), tossed her flaws on the cutting room floor (57 states for example) had they wanted her to win. They didn't. They were driven to destroy her any way they could. |

1000 pardons, oh "Great One". That I forgot to grace you with lavish praise and adulation on May 30th-----YOUR DAY, is nothing short of unforgiveable. How incredibly selfish of me. Now I shall do the best I can to muster an inkling of remorse for not recognizing the "Great One", on that declared day.
Yes, it's all about you, oh, "Great One". |

WONDERFUL Colorado Fourth, Old Friend. See that you're amusing yourself by shootin' vermin this a.m. Go ye and prosper! It's good to see you back in form & vinegar after your bypass recovery.
Yesterday was the usual 4th of July romp with Missus Neo & the USA celebrations. Started the day with a stroll in the park in Winter Park. Kids, Dogs, Parents, Grandparents and, in one case, a 104-year old birthday girl! Band, patriotic music, 'old' cars(one 1950 Olds coupe tugged my heart), lemonade, watermelons, Old Marines and young warriors...Then, a BBQ mid-afternoon at old friends of the Big Boss...Baseball game on the wide screen and the 9:00pm fireworks on our Lake Killarney, followed by Boston Pops on Hi-Def for the birthday girl and my current Vince Flynn thriller for the happily spent Neo.
Perfecto! |

one thing i'll give you clowns: you care more about your story-lines than anything else. |

writes, "But, hey, I hope you enjoyed the fireworks."
LOL-----since you bring it up---my enjoying the fireworks. I sure did---and moreso. And now, with great appreciation, I am infinitely grateful that I am not imprisoned in the miserable skin of yours. Anyone having such a dim view of the country they reside in lives in a private hell of misery that I am unable to conceive of. No wonder you suck up so much space here----yours is a mission to spread your misery to as many as possible. It sticks to me like teflon.
Your miserable little existence is uniquely yours. You, and Pathologic Liberal, you enjoy that private little hell that you reside in.

Even you possess NOT the capacity to view mine as a simple "observation".
Ahhhhhhh..........I see that your willingness to butt in here with your narcissism is consistent with your well established profile. It's all about you.
I also see that you are quick-to-the-draw on this issue-----but nowhere to be found on yesterday's thread of celebrating independence. No self respecting person could receive mine as haughty comments as an American on aforementioned threads. Very tame, my comments.
YOU? No comments----well, except for your predictable desire to jump in to the fray with self-absorbed, self-focused, self-involved, self-self commentary about yourself.
Now everyone is graced with detail on when YOUR birthday is. Everyone is provided ample notice about you and how important you and your birthday is in relation to the earth revolving around "PL". It must be one incredible experience waking up each day with the realization of exactly how much depth you contribute to the world. It's gotta be somewhat frustrating though-----the vast number of unappreciative people, those who do not regularly thank you.
Yeah---come to think of it, I did not see your pedantic, pathetic, predictable, Patholgic Liberal monniker on any thread dedicated to the, Fourth of July.
Nope---yours was the busy-body need to keep the attention focused on more important stuff----YOU. Incredibly hilarious.

Simple Observation Incredible how those who post breathlessly, sucking large amounts of space on threads such as this one--------had nary a word to say on one of those established for July 4th appreciation or celebration. Nope.
Me- What's there really to say. 200 years ago, some slaveowners decided they didn't like paying their taxes? If you were Black, female, Native American, or not a property owner, you weren't any freer on July 4 1776 than you were on July 3, 1776.
Yes, you can admire Thomas Jefferson for his wise words, but let's not forget he was also raping his slave, Sally Hemmings, on a regular basis. (Sorry, if you can have the woman whipped for refusing, it's rape.)
C- These people cannot get their fingers typing fast enough to express their bitterness towards Sarah Palin, yet, have not a moment to spare to share a thought about what Independence Day means to them.
Me- I know exactly what it means to me. A day off. Nothing more, nothing less. and idiots proving Darwin right by blowing themselves up with fireworks.
But there is a word from the founders that I do remember. When asked what kind of government they were giving us, Benjamin Franklin answered "A Republic, if you can keep it."
When someone as patently unqualified as George W. Bush becomes president because his father had the job (and did it badly), I wonder if we can keep it. When someone as patently unqualified for the job like Sarah Palin come one heartbeat away from the Presidency, and is still be tauted even though on Friday, she proved she isn't up to it, I worry that much more.
But, hey, I hope you enjoyed the fireworks.
|
|
You are absolutely right. I should have been counting my blessings and celebrating. Instead I was worried about a few yahoos posting on TH.
Thanks for the wake-up call! |
|
You'll have to point out where I got personal on you. Other than your naive view that the hardest workers advance in corporate America...
Or maybe it was when I said you "weren't the cool one". I hope your nephews reassured your coolness status... since I smashed your little ego.
You started off with a fallacy, that Obama had abandoned his post by running for President (and by that logic, so Did McCain, Biden, H. Clinton, Palin and everyone else who was a current office holder) My LOGICAL response was that the people of Illinois had something to say about that and approved overwealmingly. Case closed, but you persisted in your folly...
But dude, not cool.... I mean I know that word bugs you for some bizarre reason... |
|
..Mr. Shrieker. Most of us put in a good word for the Republic. Maybe not insipid prattlings, like you, but manly expressions of gratitude.
as for the designated threads, i for one was disgusted by Paddy's post about sticking a roman candle up the backside of gay Americans. that crooner is a degenerate and it was all i could do to choke down my urge to post a rebuke on a thread meant to celebrate our country.
I was born on May 30th, the true Memorial Day, and it has always been in my nature to commemorate. I agree with you that it is a good thing to mark the moments and recognize what is important. Nothing is more important than country--not God, not family, not individuality.
but being a citizen involves something more restrained and dignified that grovelling with one's words--and demanding that everyone else does the same. |
|
"Once again, I can always tell when I've won an argument when the Conservatards want to make wild-@ss guesses about my personal life. Never fails."
I explained that to you earlier @ 3:52 Why carry on a civil debate with someone like you? You started our little exchange by getting personal. Does that mean I 'won' before we started? By your own standards, I guess I did!
That's what I find so amusing about you trolls. And sad at the same time. You begin posts with cool, uncool conseratards and wingnuts to name a few and then you act offended when it's handed right back to you. You can't take it can you?
And as is typical, you never answered nor debated my point regarding your jealousy and envy of Palin that fuels your hatred toward her.
That's when I know I've won an argument with you AX.
|
|
I understand. You are one who celebrates when convenient. When the mood is exactly correct. Not when someone, or some event, or a sense of loss moves you otherwise. Nope---no time to contribute to the incredible blessings we/you do have and enjoy in this great country. I understand.
But consider this, if just for a fleeting moment. If you do not have the ability to show appreciation for what you do have---right now---you contribute to the very ungrateful souls who infest these threads. Those who can be found complaining regularly all around you on a daily basis. For when you show your appreciation for what you do have, it can actually have an affect on others. A possibility to create for them a moment for which they are too selfish to contemplate otherwise. More importantly, it allows you to make clear the things YOU value---even if there are some things you would want to change---and resolve to help change. Things you can contemplate changing tomorrow---after celebrating the things you believe to be great. I maean no disrespect to you. But I find it a bit sad to hear that you would forego the one day we set aside to shout out our true appreciation for the incredible efforts and lives lost in bringing to reality this idea, this ideal that was borne in the creation of America. For now, you'll no doubt relish, with no small satisfaction, the 364 days to freely live before having to concern yourself with another July 4th reminder of what freedoms you've "lost". |
|
|
Lets take Obama, Clinton, McCain & Biden, They started to campaign and pushed their positions aside, collecting pay but not doing much and letting it slide. Now comes Palin, she decides to quit her job as the governor of AK which means she can devote time to her new venture, she has a replacement to take over her job. Who was taking over Obama's, Clinton and McCain’s job while the were campaigning " NOBODY" Now to me that’s the difference between a person who likes our country not some sleazes just taking what they can get. I think she is doing it right with the other politicians its the same old thing hurry up and get the new job but just incase hang on to the old one. |
|
|
GREATER DEPRESSION dems OUT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? |
|
I must admit that I was one who was not in the frame of mind to celebrate Independence Day.
But not because I was expressing bitterness toward Sarah Palin, or anyone else. It was because I feel less free this July than I ever have in my lifetime. |

PATRIOTS THIS IS OUR ONLY COURSE OF ACTION NOW!
Here's some restoration, reformation, & revolution that Our Founding Fathers supported:
1) Advertise and Promote the Fact that you are forming a Grand Jury in Blogs, Local Newspapers and Community Organizations.
2) Form the Grand Jury and select a Foreman.
3) Select a Private Attorney General to make Presentments to Grand Jury, if local DA refuses to make presentments.
4) Select a convenient Meeting Place.
5) Communicate with all Citizens who have criminal information to present.
6) Schedule presentments by said Citizens.
7) Subpoena documents from Government Offices and Officials.
8) Schedule presentment of said Documents to Grand Jury by Grand Jury Attorney General.
9) Have Grand Jury Attorney General present said Documents to Grand Jury.
10) After investigation and deliberation is completed, vote and issue a True Bill (Indictment) or No True Bill.
11) Announce all Indictments to the Press.
12) Serve the Indictment on the Judiciary for the Issuance of Arrest Warrants.

BO-DEPRESSION will be FAR WORSE that the 1930's! |

What "me-first rationale"?
Palin could have chosen to continue to draw a paycheck from the citizens of Alaska, even though she didn't have time to serve them.
Instead, she chose to resign. I call that "taking the high road". |
|
Incredible how those who post breathlessly, sucking large amounts of space on threads such as this one--------had nary a word to say on one of those established for July 4th appreciation or celebration. Nope.
These people cannot get their fingers typing fast enough to express their bitterness towards Sarah Palin, yet, have not a moment to spare to share a thought about what Independence Day means to them. Oh yes, they've got their computer humming along, just not for words of appreciation. Theirs is a bigger focus. Much bigger. Huge. Massive. Gargantuan in scope and purpose, theirs is. No time to spare, not for them. Not a moment to lose in using that same energy, this similar process to articulate what it means to be free, to be part of the most abundant country in the world. Wow! How simply telling is this? |

To your senators and congressmen. |

As if a Bush apologist and diehard denier of truth and reality has anything of merit to tell us. Wasn't Perino the last in a line of liars from the Bush "press" office? And she hasn't even the dignity of Scotty to admit her complicity to evil.
In regards to "TheQuitter",Palin should lose any remaining wingnut support left out there, but in typical fashion you all will "suddenly" find compassion for the dump and run, me-first rationale. What a sorry mess. |

Again who cares? If we were voting right now, I would vote against Sarah Palin for the same reason I voted against Barack Obama - too inexperienced. But we are not voting right now and, as far as I know, Sarah Palin is not running for anything so my question stands - If you don't live in Alaska, why do you even care?
Me- Yes, we aren't voting right now, but there is a fight going on for the soul of the REpublican Party. Sadly, the Religious nutters are looking to hijack it, and they see Palin as their tool. Or they did until she imploded on Friday....
I see the GOP in crisis right now. They've taken their biggest whupping since 1964. With no one at the helm, anyone could get in charge. And if Obama doesn't turn the economy around, some nutter who hopes that Jesus comes back and ends the world could be in charge of the nuclear arsenal.... and that is truly frightening. |
|
Oh, I beg to differ. You do care. Otherwise you wouldn't spend so much time trashing Palin.
Here's a good read for all:
http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/07/sarah_palin_all_in.h tml
I love the last lines, "What an irony if the only American President who can make a 3 point shot were taken out by a point guard who came up to his shoulder. And if the guard was a chick --who went to a no name school?" |
|
"some in the GOP want to put this completely unqualified person in charge of the country..."
Yes and some wanted Mark Sanford to be in charge of the country.
|
Oh, I don't care, other than some in the GOP want to put this completely unqualified person in charge of the country when she can't run a state and seems largely unable to even run her family.
On a personal level, I hope she milks the GOP Stupids out of a lot of money and gets a nest egg large enough to live comfortably for the rest of her life, so long as we never have to see her in politics again. |
|
with you people no matter what she does. She was selected to be the Vice-Presidential candidate and everyone said she should just stay home with her children. Especially since one was a newborn with Downs Syndrome and one was an unwed, pregnant teen.
Now she decides to quit her job, stay home with her children and everyone still goes nuts about why she is doing this.
Give the woman a break. If you don't live in Alaska, why do you even care? |

Obama is NOT the only Political FRAUD! Want to LEGALLY remove Obama from POTUS? Start HERE:
There is an ongoing criminal conspiracy among Obama supporters in Nashville to cover up crimes committed by his campaign in 2007, 2008 and 2009. These crimes include, but are not limited to, VOTER FRAUD, IDENTITY THEFT, COMPUTER THEFT, INVASION OF PRIVACY and petty BURGLARIES similar to WATERGATE.
Judge Tom w. Brothers and a Partner in Karl Dean's favorite FIRM, Bass Berry & Sims, were INDICTED once and Tom w. Brothers and Bass Berry and Sims will be INDICTED again and CONVICTED this time.
When Nashville Judge Tom w. Brothers was first INDICTED for Drug Money Laundering Karl Dean was the Public Defender FIXING Cases his Wife's FIRM, Bass, Berry & Sims.
According to an old Law School friend of mine who was working for the DEA when Tom Brothers was INDICTED for DRUG MONEY Laundering, Bass, Berry & Sims was the biggest Drug Money Laundering FIRM in the Southeast.
My DEA Agent Friend's words were similar to what Phil Williams of http://www.NewsChannel5.com wrote about Russell Brothers. According to Phil Williams, Russell Brothers was a "Giant among Giants" in the Drug Smuggling Business.
Somehow the Deans accumulated a "reported" Fortune of $100 Million despite the fact that they both grew up poor. The cover story spun by the Deans is that Ms. Dean's STINGY MISER Uncle gave her the money.
Coincidentally, the Deans' cover story was similar to Tom Brothers' cover story about where the money that he was LAUNDERING for his Convicted FELON Uncle Russell's Drug Money came from.
Tom Brothers testified at his trial that he thought, "Uncle Russell got the millions from selling insurance for CNA."

in "Deliverance"
Since most of your squealing was a rant about how I exposed your silliness, I'll just concentrate on the salient point..
"Where in my comment do you read 'World War II',"
Um.... Here "Had Truman and, later, Ike & JFK stated sternly to the Germans that if violence broke out, ya know from the East, they'd darn well disengage from by Gawd Germany...and France...and Belgium..."
Once again, you guys KEEP TRYING to compare Iraq to Germany post WWII. You guys keep trying to paint Saddam as Hitler. You NeoCons keep trying to peddle the nonsense that we can turn Iraq into a West German-like Democracy that will inspire the rest of the region.
And, uh, no, guy, we won't. Best case scenario, Iraq turns into a Shi'ite theocracy where the Shi'ite majority holds the Kurds and Sunnis under their thumbs. Worst case, the country breaks out into civil war because these three groups never should have been put in the same country to start with. Kurdish nationalism spill over into Turkey and Iran.
There never was an Iraq until the British created it as a reward for Hashemite tribesmen as a reward for their part in fighting the Ottomans. That meant putting a bunch of sunnis in charge of a Shi'ite Kurd majority who never wanted it. And we screwed that up.
But, hey, your boy George W. Bush didn't even know the difference between a Sunni and a Shi'ite when he initiated the war.

Not winners and losers Ax There are just those who whine and those who are grateful. No matter what lot they have. After a day of fun, food, family, fireworks and most important, freedom. I return to find you have spent the day posting away to people you don't even like.
Me- I actually did my celebrations on Friday, but that wasnt't the point, was it?
Once again, I can always tell when I've won an argument when the Conservatards want to make wild-@ss guesses about my personal life. Never fails.
Tell you what bugs me. I'm 47, and I've seen the American Middle class steadily decline since my childhood. Pretty much since 1968. Republicans have been in the White House for 28 of those 40 years. We watched the good paying jobs go away, we've watched the good benefits go away, and we have some republican pig-f**ker like you saying, "Well, you're not trying hard enough."
And you wonder why you were shown the door last year.

Me- Somehow, I doubt you know all that much about Islam as a religion. Like most religions, it has some positive stuff in it. Christianity has some positive stuff in it. For instance, one of the five pillars of Islam is "Zakah", or alms-giving. You are required to give to charity according to your wealth. Wow, what a notion. |

Obama voted present 132 out of 4000+ votes while a member of the Illinois State Legislature NOT THE US SENATE.
Furthermore McCain missed more US Senate Votes during the campaign than Obama .... Much Much More.... Even after he sewed up the nomination.
And George W Bush run for President while he was still Governor of Texas.
It sad that while trying to make Sarah into some type of heroine by resigning her governorship.. that you make comparisons to Obama with incorrect or made up facts.

preparing for a run for the Presidency. Imagine stepping aside as Governor of Alaska so that the people of Alaska would not be deprived of a full-time Governor as she campaigns. Contrast that to Barack Obama, who upon election to his very first term as US Senator from Ilinois, immediately began his campaign for President. He was almost never at work on Capitol Hill, and the few times he was there, he didn't usually have the guts (or smarts?) to vote "yea" or "nay". The vote of choice for that fence-rider was "present", which in essence means "Jack Schitt". IF Palin is stepping aside as Governor for a Presidential run, she is showing integrity. I'm sure the Lieutenant Governor is more than capable of stepping right in and assuming the reins. The people of Alaska will have a full-time Governor as opposed to the people of Illinois who basically had only one US Senator the last few years. |

Axe it doesn't matter how much you hate your religion, you still can't justify comparing it to the islamic faith, yes there are wrongs that have been done but your parish priest and mine never told you it is ok to go out and harm another person.
Me- and neither do 99% of the Mullahs. In fact, most Mullahs and authorities within Islam have denounce Bin Laden and declared he does not have the authority to command a "Fatwa" or a "Jihad". So again, I'm not seeing how you are trying to claim bin Laden is emblamatic of Islam, but various Christian nutters aren't emblamatic of Christianity.
Honestly, we'd be in a real sh!t storm if most Muslims DID agree with Bin laden, because there are a billion of them and only 300 million of our fat-backsides. |

Since Dana is at least willing to think about what happened:
"if a major television network pre-empts regularly scheduled programming to run its anchor comedy show during prime time, and you are the butt of their jokes, you have a serious problem."
But, does Palin have the problem here, or does the major network?
That is really the rub.
Yes, we all know that any presidential candidate, any politico, pretty much any two-legged will be microscoped ad infinitum by an undisciplined media in a But no one else was subject to the crude projectiles emanating from the blogosphere and the state-run media as Sara was.
There's a reason for that, and the media more than anyone should know what that is for our country's sake and for the sake of all our souls. Make 3 guesses and rule out sexism, just to keep the wheels turning.
Sara can do greater good on the outside of this snake pit where we hope one day to cure the crawlie things and swing wide the locked doors toward those sunny uplands. |

Axe you do tend to nit pick, your friend.....individuals that don't follow the church, make their own choices some right some wrong, you can't blame the entire body of the church because of what individuals do.
Me- I stopped being friends with him because he wasn't worthy of my friendship... not for religious reasons. His girlfriend wasn't any better, for that matter. They were both very manipulative and dishonest, and I regret I got sucked into their vortex of dishonesty...
But the church's position is also irrational. It forces people to do things that aren't really sins, but they are supposed to feel guilty about. I don't think abortion is a good thing, but I don't think it's a sin, either, and under certain circumstances, is justifiable.
It's been my expereince that religion is always more about control than morality, however. Hense, why I reject it. |
|
IRA I guess your getting closer, but I still don't think Irish priests were telling their congregation to blow up the Brits. Here in the states where we grew up we have never gotten a sermon that encouraged us to kill or even harm aynone.
Me- When I was growing up, the British were totally vilified in the Catholic Schools and the IRA were treated like heroes. Never heard the word "terrorist" applied to them until they blew up Lord Mountbatten.
In fact, it wasn't until JohnPaul II that the Catholic Church FINALLY took a stand against IRA terrorism, and that was only because the IRA had links to people the Pope didn't like. |
|
I still thought abortion was evil. (My best friend at the time described me as an Atheist with Catholic morals. He then went on to pay for an abortion on his girlfriend, after which we stopped being friends.) Axe you do tend to nit pick, your friend.....individuals that don't follow the church, make their own choices some right some wrong, you can't blame the entire body of the church because of what individuals do. |
|

I guess your getting closer, but I still don't think Irish priests were telling their congregation to blow up the Brits. Here in the states where we grew up we have never gotten a sermon that encouraged us to kill or even harm aynone. |
|
My take exactly.
Unlike most politicos, Palin is refusing to take a paycheck from the people when she is too busy to serve them.
Careful with that axe:
At 3:17 you said, "As long as Obama crushes the religious right and fixes the economy, I don't care much what else he does."
That's just lovely. It's become perfectly clear that Obama has no intentions to "fix" the economy.
And you want him to "crush the religious right"?!?! Why? Wasn't this country founded on religious freedom? And what good would it do YOU to crush anyone because of their religion? If someone said they hoped Obama would crush the Islamists, you would be outraged.
|
|
HItler and his buddy Mussolini were Catholics and the Church collaborated with them, even when they were killing Catholics. So you can't get away with that one...
Now, for Mao. Hardly a good case. He was an atheist in a society that never really believed in a God or Gods. Chinese society believe in spirits and other silliness, but the concept of a single God up in heaven is not part of their society... |
|
Prohibitions Axe, with a straight face you think that Catholics are as dangerous as Islamic radicals?
Me- with a straight face, I think under the right circumstances, some of them can be.
IRA Catholic terrorists engaged in acts just as depraved and evil as Al Qaeda against the British and Irish protestants.
I grew up catholic. I got the whole nine yards of the anti-Abortion brainwashing. It was so thorough that even YEARS after I stopped believing in Invisible Sky Pixies, I still thought abortion was evil. (My best friend at the time described me as an Atheist with Catholic morals. He then went on to pay for an abortion on his girlfriend, after which we stopped being friends.)

Eugene is the king of equivication , what he never mentions is that secularists like Mao Stalin and Hitler and numerous others have killed far more people than all of Religions in the world combined and in a much shorter time period .Marxism alone has done more damage ,killed more people and enslaved more than any other movement in history and is still embraced by the elite at many of our universitys . Given what we have seen the marxists do how crazy is that? |

extremist celebration. Of course we know that the left has had their day, May 1st, so it is only fitting that we have ours. Anyone who does not subscribe to the left's ideology is immediately branded as a "right wing extremist". Liberty and freedom are most certainly, "extremist" viewpoints to the left, as they long to eliminate them, for they are an impediment to the soft tyranny of Statism. While red blooded Americans celebrate today, and are exceedingly thankful for liberty and freedom, the left wrings their hands of such notions, and scoffs at the idea of American exceptionalism. To the left, this great country's Founders, are "right wing extremists", and their guiding principles are "right wing" and "extreme", as well. For 45 years they have taken us down the road of soft tyranny, eliminating liberty and freedom bit by bit. Eventually, inevitably, to accomplish their goals, soft tyranny must be replaced with hard tyranny. Totalitarianism. History tells us so. To simply say that they detest what America has always stood for, falls far short of their actual sentiments. This hatred of America is only surpassed by their virulent hatred of Jesus Christ. So happy Fourth, lefty's, and may you choke on the liberty and freedom you so hate. |
|
Diffrerence AXE Is my religion or lets say eugene ours doesn't believe in killing abortionists, Atta and his buddies would kill anybody as long as they are not muslims, well they would kill muslims if they are in the building they are bombing or flying planes into.
Me- the difference is all in your head. Islam has as many prohibitions against killing as Judeo-Christianity does. But anyone can twist scripture to justify anything.

the memories of WWII vets by comparing their great struggle to your folly.
The two stupidest things about the Iraq war is liberals comparing it to Vietnam, and neo-Conservatives comparing it to WWII.
If you want a REALLY effective paralel, try the Philippine Wars of 1899-1910. We went off into left field after a preceived attack (USS Maine) and occupied a country that had nothing to do with that conflict. We then found ourselves emeshed in an internal conflict with people we didn't understand after what seemed to be an easy victory. (The Battle of Manila Bay was won with only 1 US casualty, but we took thousands in the years to come and killed hundreds of thousands of Filipinos.) We eventually turned the war over to natives willing to fight for us, but we had to agree to give the country back.
Another great paralel. Like George W. Stupid, who didn't know the difference between Sunnis and Shi'ites, William McKinley couldn't find the Philippines on a globe, and said it was our mission to "Christianize" them. (But 90% of them were already Roman Catholics.) |

Easiest $$-Kazillions I ever make are bets on *MCL's flapping chops and the vapidity behind them.
*Multiple Cloned Lefturd*
**Oh, and Axie-Sally-Scurvy-Roman-Whatever..Had Truman and, later, Ike & JFK stated sternly to the Germans that if violence broke out, ya know from the East, they'd darn well disengage from by Gawd Germany...and France...and Belgium...Wonder how that'd play..Never mind. A Europe entirely Soviet occupied and a vast slave ship. Thank God for their steadfastness and that of George W. Bush.** |

"When did I say I was a big cheese?
Resentment like Lonny's. See my post @1:40. Tough disease you have but there is help."
Me- Never said you were... But I am always amazed that you guys seem to see the world as divided between "winners" and "losers"...
For guys who don't believe in Evolution, we seem to have an awful lot of social Darwinists in here.
Personally, I have no problem with personal ambition, when overall, it creates a benefit to society. For instance, one could make a lot of complaints about the greed, ruthlessness and business practices of Bill Gates, but his products have brough immense benefits to all of us.
The thing is, when it turns into greed that has no regard for society at large. When a Mitt Romney decides he's going to put 500 people out of work so he can make a bigger cut on AmPad's profits. But a lot of you guys think that kind of vicious thinking qualifies him to be President. |
|
Ronna You know axe is right, last sunday at Mass Father Leo called for volunteers to join the suicide bombers club, they meet the second wednesday of the month, right after the Knights of Columbus meeting.
Me- So explain to me again how the guy who shot "Tiller the Killer" was any different than Atta?
Religious fanaticism is always bad. Doesn't matter which sky pixie you pray to.

I hope your right..I am personally amazed that anyone would run for office given the current climate . |

Sarah Palin told us in clear terms why she was stepping aside.
Because of the constant barrage of unfounded attacks (15 ethics complaints investigated and dismissed thus far with no end in sight), she is spending most of her time simply defending herself (by some accounts up to 80% of her time is spent thusly).
These frivolous attacks have cost Alaskan taxpayers millions of dollars and will likely cost them millions more.
She believes herself to be a "public servant" who was hired to do the public's business with (as she stated at the Convention) a "servant's heart.
With these distractions, she is unable to do that which she was hired to do.
Now.
If her actions are viewed from the perspective of someone who actually believes herself to be a public servant, then how could she, in good conscience, continue to accept money for a job which she can no longer effectively do?
It isn't that she was "chased away," or that she "couldn't take the heat" (what did some of y'all miss her response to Letterman...this isn't someone who runs away from a fight) ... she believes herself to have been rendered ineffective and that, in the spirit of public service, she needs to "hand the ball off" to someone who CAN effectively serve.
Soon, you will see that she hasn't run from a fight as she's coming to the lower 48 to fully ENGAGE in the fight. She'll bring her WHOLE attention to the fight. And, she won't be hamstrung by the timid voices of the McCain campaign.
The left asked for a fight.
Beware what you ask for -- you might just get it. |

You know axe is right, last sunday at Mass Father Leo called for volunteers to join the suicide bombers club, they meet the second wednesday of the month, right after the Knights of Columbus meeting. |

Also, he should know that the religious right will NEVER be crushed - you can't crush God's will -
Me- You know, that was probably what Mohammed Atta thought right before the plane hit the building...

Oh, and K.G...I'll Bet'cha These Easist $$-Trillion I'll bet this week that *MCL will jump in here with a righteous finger wag that, by Gawd, Neo needs to jump in a uniform and jine-up, yessirrreee.
Me- No point in me pointing out the obvious, is there?
The reality is that if Iraq falls into violence, we are going to get out by the fastest means possible because public opinion will not tolerate throwing away more lives than already have.
|
|
Right. Another one of these TownHall losers who claims to have a huge personal fortune and a twelve inch male member.
Do you really think lying to strangers on the internet about your so-called accomplishments really impresses anyone? I mean, seriously. I know you guys all claim up and down to be successful businessmen and such, but I doubt any of you run anything bigger than a mom-and-pop store. |

"on the pretense that he was on a trip to visit his dying grandmother.
B.S.
When she died ..."
More hilarity from Julie. You honestly don't see that the fact that she died means there may not have been any pretense? |
|
Too bad AX. There are so many points we could be discussing. You may even learn something.
My resume in the business world is unimportant but, what I've learned first and foremost in business is to only engage in minimal discussions with the kind of child who uses phrases like cool and uncool.
Unless they are my niece and my nephew's. Who are in route as we speak. I'm sure while talking with them I'll be reminded of this conversation with you.
Happy 4th AX. |

|
This woman, whom you all seem to admire, spent 2 1/2 years at the job to which she was elected. She claims she wants to save her state money. She claims she doesn't want to be a lame duck governor. In fact, she's either a quitter who couldn't stand up to the criticism, or she's so anxious to get her presidential campaign that she's deep-sixed her committment to Alaska. Either way, it should give everyone an educated glimpse into her character ( or lack thereof ). |
|
$$-Trillion I'll bet this week that *MCL will jump in here with a righteous finger wag that, by Gawd, Neo needs to jump in a uniform and jine-up, yessirrreee.
Ca-Ching.
Now, to a picnic in Missus Neo's honor. |

linked to a Bloomberg report that the fearless, impressive VP of the pompous finger wagging faux president has slicked his plugs back and sternly warned Iraqi leaders that, BY GAWD, if violence breaks out, America may disengage from Iraq.
Translation to Radical Islamists: Please flood directly to Iraq as America has just telegraphed its cowardly intentions if you cause some concerted trouble.
God, I loath these cowards. |
|
that to continue blaming Bush for everything Obama is and will do is juvenile denial of the facts.
Also, he should know that the religious right will NEVER be crushed - you can't crush God's will - AND AXE'S idol and Messiah the imposter dictator Hussein will NEVER fix the economy; he intended to break it initially, and has no intention of doing ANYthing good for America. He's a Muslim bent on it's destruction. And then someone could tell AXEhole to take a long, long walk off a very short pier into very dark, deep water. |
|
You know, you all make it sound like a bad thing. Chicago is called "The City that Works" for a reason. Yeah, you can whine about our "Machine", but the fact is that we've done pretty well while the rest of the Mid-West has collapsed into rust.
And if you really think people who move up in the business world are the hardest workers, I just have to assume you haven't been in the business world. |
|
So honestly, if she can't handle the political heat in Moose-Jaw Alaska, how exactly is she going to handle Washington?
Sorry, I think she really is just cashing out when the cashing is good. She'll write a book. (Actually, someone else will write if for her), go on a speaking tour, rake in a bunch of bucks from severe ODS sufferers, and then retire nicely.
|
|
LOL............
Yeah! Letterman made Palin quit...
Oh that's good...... can't wait to tell that one at the pool today.
Everybody have a great 4th. Remember the reasons we are able to squawk away on these threads.
Enjoy! |

"Axilla, He'll remember his friends is what you say. So what happened to Hope & Change? Obama is unlike the Washington insiders that spend taxpayer dollars paying back their friends. At least that's what you were told.
It's too bad Obama doesn't have any Gay friends, but he does have friends who are lobbyists, crooks, fellow politicans, media moguls and such."
Me- You mean, unlike Bush, who was giving the management to FEMA to his buddy who ran horse shows... Well, we all know how well THAT worked out.
As long as Obama crushes the religious right and fixes the economy, I don't care much what else he does.
|
|
I stand corrected. I forgot how you think the game should be played.
Why work hard doing your best at a job when you can move up the ladder by having people cover for you while you brown nose, schmooze and deal your way to the top? Go in and tell the boss and make sure he/she knows that if they help, the spoils are coming their way. And at the end of it all what does it matter if you owe a few favors?
Pass a porkulous bill, make a few appointments, a Supreme Court nomination or two and that will even the ledger.
My bad Ax. But thanks for again for reminding me how the old school Dem machine works.

Reagan put up with horrible criticism from the left, the neocon right, and comedians.
Nixon's was the butt of jokes, criticism, and hatred for 50 years.
Bush Sr. put up with being called a wimp.
Dan Quayle put up with being called a childish moron every day.
Bill Clinton was called a murderer, a swindler, a serial rapist, a totalitarian socialist monster, etc.
W. was called a bumbler, a fool, a liar, was the butt of nearly every political joke from 2004 onward.
And somehow they all managed to gut it out, deal with it, and survive.
But Sarah Palin had a reason to drop out because a late night comedian made an off color joke about her and one of her daughters? |
|
She's long on guts and charisma; short on cogent, succint communication skills. I've critized BHO for the same deficiences (w/o his BF, the teleprompter loaded by his speech writers).
However, after the inital surprise of Palin's announcement, it makes sense to me. Her political opponents are quaduple-teaming her and will never stop. She doesn't have the insulation and support that a POTUS would have. She's on her own up there.
Her relentless enemies will forever make certain that she hits nothing but the "brick wall" in AK politics. Rendered ineffective, it would be dishonorable to continue taking a pay check.
Even more dishonorable to run around the Lower 48 speaking, running for office or whatever and be receiving a paycheck (a la BO, Hillary & McCain) as guv while the lieutenant gov runs the state anyway.
Whether or not Palin can be elected to another office, staying in AK and beating her head against the wall and running up legal bills wasn't going to help.
She, her family and indeed the people of AK have everything to gain and not much to lose by her resignation.
This cuts her loose for to pursue more effective avenues such as the pro-life movement, special needs movement, energy spokesperson, media gigs or helping the Pubs raise money and get elected.
It's win/win. The quitter label will hurt, but I'm not sure it will make that much difference. Her possibilities for POTUS were always slim to none despite the beliefs of her ardent supporters.
It's all good, folks.
|
|
is what you say. So what happened to Hope & Change? Obama is unlike the Washington insiders that spend taxpayer dollars paying back their friends. At least that's what you were told.
It's too bad Obama doesn't have any Gay friends, but he does have friends who are lobbyists, crooks, fellow politicans, media moguls and such.

Good points.
And let's not forget that Obama flew to Hawaii just before the election, on the pretense that he was on a trip to visit his dying grandmother.
B.S.
When she died, he couldn't have cared less. Left her to rot for weeks!
So, what was the purpose of Obama's trip to Hawaii? |
|
Other Eugene- Go to your boss Monday (you libs who actually work I mean) and tell her/him that you'll be going around the country for a while trying to get a better position. That you'll drop in every so often to see what's going on and yes, you expect to pick up your check as usual.
Me (the cool one with the Axe) - Well, the "Boss" in this case was the people of Illinois, who could have responded by voting for Hillary in the Primary or McCain in the General. Instead, he carried the state both times by overwealming margins. That tells me people were happy enough with the job he did to want him to get that promotion.
A better analogy is you go in to your boss and tell him you are applying for a higher position in the company, and you've gota good shot at getting it. You'll still do your job, but if you get that move up, it'll benefit him because he'll remember his friends... |
|
played a role in her decision and Demccrats keep filing frivolous lawsuits so she owes what $500,000?
|
|
It was actually worse. Obama was AWOL from the Senate chasing another gig and still collecting a check.
Go to your boss Monday (you libs who actually work I mean) and tell her/him that you'll be going around the country for a while trying to get a better position. That you'll drop in every so often to see what's going on and yes, you expect to pick up your check as usual.
If your search works out you'll resign or if you can't get the job you want you'll be back until the next hiring cycle.
Try that. Let me know how it works out! |
|
"I am SOOOO jealous of someone who barely graduated from college and is governor of a state that has less than 1/10 of the population of my county."
Talk about festering resentments. Freud would have a field day with that last comment.
And that's exactly why she drives you trolls nuts. You don't hate her nearly as much as you resent her success. Small town, small school, folksy demeanor ect. And now (Presidency or not) she will become even more influential, much wealthier and live the dream that you can never imagine.
lonny, (and you other trolls) go and rent the Scorses/Deniro classic King of Comedy. There is so much Rupert Pupkin in all of you. Do you daydream in your mom's basement next to a cut out of Stephanopoulos and the nation hanging on your every word? OK leave out the props but I would bet that whether you know it or not you say to yourself, "I could do better. Why her and not me? I'm smart! Not like everybody says! It's just not fair!! And yes George, I agree with The president's statement that........."
Good old fashion jealousy and resentment lonny. That's what fuels you trolls about Palin. She has achieved what you could not.
Any honest shrink could tell you that after the first 15 minutes.
Have a great 4th and say hi to Liza and Jerry for me Rupert!!
|
|
Could the GOP be anymore screwed up? Where's the leadership? Where's the voice? Palin couldn't do it well enough. Romney is dull. Blackburn? Thune? We hoped Steele would be a spark, and he's spent more time bashing Rush than Obama has.
Palin has jumped off a wobbly ship of a party.
I like her. Hope her family does great.
I am terribly disappointed in her decision, how she's doing this, and why.
IF she had become VP, and the media hits were even worse, would she have resigned that too?
IT's a move that essentially does end her political career.
I say, take over that Chuck Heston role at the NRA.
On a day when Powell says that Obama has bit off more than he can chew, never expected the budget to get so big, etc. What an idiot...duh Colin. WE knew he'd do that. Now, that his poll #'s are falling slightly, Colin does the usual: jumps ship.
Palin is right next to him now. |
|
No matter how you spin it: she quit. She walked away from the job & people. It will not stop the media scrutiny. Sadly, I fear a soon to appear other reason: health, scandal, investigation, etc. I hope I'm wrong on that.
She is a star. She had guts. She threw a lot of that away yesterday by having that 'no, I can't' mentality. A quitter. It will never go away.
I hope she gets involved with Right to Life & NRA & other groups nationally. Make money, do tv, and don't run for office again.
I wish her well. But, don't try to spin that she can ever get over the 'quitter' label. It's there forever.....unless, a family issue arises. |
|
so why haven't you mentioned that fact? I'm asking you because you seem to know more about historical events than the rest of us do.
Lonny, Palins parents are educators so you know what that means. She had to work her way through a bunch of third rate colleges before graduating with a degree in journalism.
Obama and his bride on the other hand are products of affirmative action. So both got into top notch schools even though they didn't have the GRADES to do so.
Some people are born to welfare queens while others must work to earn a living. So I quess Palin will be working while the Obama's continue to suck the American teet.
|
|
|
Seems pretty obvious that you ARE jealous. |
|
I am SOOOO jealous of someone who barely graduated from college and is governor of a state that has less than 1/10 of the population of my county.
Yes, it is jealousy that makes us on the left LOL when this woman pretends to be "Reagan". Nancy Reagan must cringe. |
|
someone successful enough to write her own ticket aren't you?
Ahhhhhhhhhh..... |
|
as a sympathy not to try to get the press to back off the Bush whitehouse?
DID ANY EVER CONIDER PALIN MAY HAVE THE PERSPECTIVE THAT BEING AVAILABLE TO THE LOWER 48 NEWS CYCLES AS BEING ESSENTIAL TO HER MESSAGE GETTING OUT? |
|
|
that she has some media deal in the offing. Either in radio or Fox. If she's free to comment on the activities of others, rather than being a target, she can climb over her opponents. This would be a page out of Reagan's playbook. If she writes her own copy, as he did,she ends up doing the educational research everyone says she needs to do and has a forum to demonstrate her own grasp of the issues she will discuss. |
|
Lincoln, when the war was going very badly. Heck, should have assembled Mary and the kids on the front porch of the WH and whined, just like Sarah.
Or FDR, either when the depression was getting worse or Hitler and his axis allies were whupping our but-ts, heck, gather Eleanor and the kids and whine, just like Sarah.
Or W, after 9/11, after all, that's not what he signed up for, not months of harassment because he was 'illegit' as a president, and then reading a book, heck, just whine and leave like Sarah.
Yeah, who could blame Sarah for quitting only partway into her first, scandal ridden term of office. Alaska politics had changed right out from under her little stiletto heels....they actually cared about scandals now.
You go, Sarah, you go make millions at Fox. That was your dream when you got that journalism degree from a third rate college after you took years to graduate. You'll fit right in. |

Perino is as mad as a wet hen. Where are the 'insights'? She hasn't a clue, because all she knows it the Beltway way! |
