The Cat Fund

Romney just stole that issue from both Rudy and McCain.

His answer was intelligent and far-reaching. I liked the idea of high-risk areas getting together to pool risk. Rudy's been trying to pander with this idea and I think both Romney and McCain made the pandering look silly by taking a broader approach.

That's what makes McCain frustrating
He'll come up with something that makes sense, like dumping bureaucracy, then he'll turn around and push something that only 'Rats like, like CFR, or amnesty, or untold millions for trial lawyers.

Same thing for Ron Paul, though his jumps of the tracks are more-frequent.

Thoughts
Rudy tried to get Romney on that one, and honestly, karma caught up with Giuliani on this one. Not only did Romney practically steal the idea right away from Rudy, but he made it sound better. Never try to out-pander a panderer, I guess.

I thought McCain's answer of "less bureaucracy" was the most conservative answer of the bunch, and a good reason to look for alternatives. But I'm still waiting for the McHaters to show up and talk about how McCain formulated his response in collaboration with Ted Kennedy.
