The Rap on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed: 31 Plots, 9/11, Daniel Pearl
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 8:28 AM

He confessed to 31 plots at a Gitmo tribunal:

The gruesome attacks range from the suicide hijackings of Sept. 11, 2001 — which killed nearly 3,000 — to a 2002 shooting on an island off Kuwait that killed a U.S. Marine.

Manyplots, including a previously undisclosed plan to kill several formerU.S. presidents, were never carried out or were foiled by internationalcounterterror authorities.

"I was responsible forthe 9/11 operation from A to Z," Mohammed said in a statement readSaturday during a Combatant Status Review Tribunal at the U.S.detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Mohammed's confession wasread by a member of the U.S. military who is serving as his personalrepresentative.

Among other things, he was allegedly going after Jimmah:

He claimed to have been "responsible" for the 1993 attack on theWorld Trade Center, Richard Reid's attempt to ignite a shoe bomb on anairliner over the Atlantic Ocean in December 2001, and the October 2002bombing of a nightclub in Bali, Indonesia.

Mohammed also said heplotted to assassinate several former presidents, including JimmyCarter, a scheme not previously revealed.

Mohammed described several other plots that never came about, such asattacks on buildings in California, Chicago and Washington state, andon the New York Stock Exchange.

But this "freedom fighter" is not entirely without heart, not to mention access to the Michael Moore talking points (also from the WaPo):

"Because war, for sure, there will be victims," he said. "When Isaid I'm not happy that 3,000 been killed in America. I feel sorryeven. I don't like to kill children and the kids."

Mohammedlikened al-Qaeda's quest to Colonial America's struggles in the ofAmerica's Revolutionary War, drawing parallels between Laden and GeorgeWashington.

"So when we made any war against America, we arejackals fighting in the nights," he said, adding later that hadWashington been arrested by the British, he, too, would have beenconsidered an enemy combatant.

Mmmm-hmmm.

Here's a transcript of the proceedings. Allah points out the highlights:

The list of plots starts on page 17; his apologia — one man’sterrorist is another man’s freedom fighter, we’re just as bad as theyare, he doesn’t like to kill people but what can he do when we’reoppressing yadda yadda — begins on page 20. Note the passage at thebottom of page 24 where he tries to justify attacking “economical”targets vis-a-vis U.S. bombing raids on Ayman al-Zawahiri’s house.

Daniel Pearl is mentioned on that page too but Mohammed speaks inbroken English so it’s hard to figure out what he means. He seems to beaccusing him of having worked for Mossad.

The Daniel Pearl confession is also in there:

And he confessed to thebeheading of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in a section ofthe statement that was excised from the public document, The AssociatedPress has learned. Pearl was abducted in January 2002 in Pakistan whileresearching a story on Islamic militancy. Mohammed has long been asuspect in the slaying, which was captured on video.

Commander in Chief
Only one problem with your statement. Congress did not declare war. Conservatives should be up in arms over this fact. By authorizing the President to make the decision they abdicate their responsibility and accoutability to the people. This allows people like Kerry to say, I voted for the authorization of war, but I wouldn't have gone in so soon, without consensus, blah, blah, blah. Thus avoiding responsibility.

The executive branch loves being able to use our army for nation building without declaring war.

Our system of checks and balances is no longer in place. And the politicians are just fine with that.

Well said
Thanks for this straightforward article. It prompted me to send and email to the White House. The Republicans seem to be interpreting their bad numbers as a clue to be nicer to the other side, when their being so nice is the exact reason their numbers are so low. (I want to slap my forehead with the palm of my hand!)

The Kilroy Report has obtained classified documents detailing the interrogation of Khalid Sheik Mohammed, alleged terrorist mastermind and #3 man in Al-Qaeda. Warning, this report contains disturbing details of torture methods and their gruesome effects.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Camp X-Ray
Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
7 October 2006

[Note: In preparation for the questioning of Prisoner # 347, one Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, we exposed the subject to 36 continuous hours of hip-hop music. In order to prevent the subject from re-orienting himself we brought him immediately to interrogation:]

Transcript of Prisoner #347 Interrogation:

Q: We’re you responsible for recruitment and training for terrorist operations, including the 9-11 attacks?

KSM: Khalid Sheikh brought all duh boys to Jihad,
And they’re all like
It's better than madrassa,
Damn right I planned it all,
I can teach, see,
But you must beseech me.

[Note: Subject seems cooperative and is even boastful of his role. While not hostile, the subject does seems to enjoy to taunting interrogator.]

Q: What recruitment methods did you use to bring together the 9/11 team?

You want to know it,
The thing that makes me,
What the guys go crazy for.
They lose their minds,
The way I wind,
I think its time

Khalid Sheikh bring all duh boys to Jihad,
And they’re all like
It's better than madrassa,
Damn right it's better than madrassa,
I can teach, see,
But you must beseech me.

[Note: Subjects repeated reference to himself in the third person may be indicative of an attempt to shift responsibility, within his own mind. Suggests possible remorse.]

Q: Beyond recruitment, were you responsible for operational training?

I can see you’re on it,
You want me to teach thee
Techniques that freaks these boys,
It can't be bought,
What you have sought,
Watch if you’re smart,

Khalid Sheikh bring all duh boys to Jihad,
And they’re all like
It's better than madrassa,
Damn right it's better than madrassa,
I can teach, see,
But you must beseech me.

Q: Good, now we’re getting somewhere. Within the personal effects of the 9-11 hijackers, we recovered what we believe are instructions for blending into western civilization. What were your specific instructions for avoiding suspicion?

Oh, once you get involved,
Security will look this way-so,
You must maintain your charm,
Same time maintain your halo,
Just get the perfect blend,
Plus what you have within,
Beware when his eyes are squint,
Cause he's picked up your scent,

Khalid Sheikh bring all duh boys to Jihad,
And they’re all like
It's better than madrassa,
Damn right it's better than madrassa,
I can teach, see,
But you must beseech me.

(End of Interrogation of prisoner #347)

Interrogators Summary:

Subject provided valuable intelligence on Al Qaeda recruitment and training procedures but it is clear to this agent that overexposing prisoner to hip-hop resulted in permanent psychological damage. Recommend immediate cessation of this practice and re-institution of water-boarding as preferred method of preparation.

Did he confess to
killing Dorothy's dog Toto too! I am sorry, but this celebration over his confessions is too easy for those that decry our interogation methods to find fault with. I have not read much of anything that shows that he provided details into the events that only the mastermind would know. That is the only was to determine if he is telling the truth. He must know more about each act than can be obtained via our best friends in MSM and Al Jazzera. If it turns out that even one of his confessions is made up, they all are then suspect in the medias mind and the interogaters will be the guilty party according to the MSM and therefore all of America and the world.

I hope I am wrong about this, but if I am right and even one of the confessions turns out wrong, we are in a heap more trouble than if they had just kept their mouths shut until all confessions had been properly vetted.
