President Barack Hoover, Part 2: Spreading Your Wealth Around On The Way To A Depression
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 2:44 PM
We are almost certainly in a recession.  It could be short or long.  It could be shallow or deep.

A vote for Senator Obama is a vote for long and deep for the simple reasons that Senator McCain explained last night:  Raising taxes and restricting trade is the recipe used by Herbert Hoover and it is the program being pushed by Obama..

This is the ground on which to fight the last three weeks --Joe the Plumber's ground.  Americans don't want their taxes raised.  They don't want trade barriers thrown up right now.  They do want growth back asap and the equity markets to recover their losses and get to new highs.  The Greatest Generation doesn't want to leave their estates to Obama's massive expansion of the public sector.  In short, Obama's pleasant smile shouldn't be enough to sell the American people on the repudiation of the 28 years of nearly unbroken growth and prosperity launched by Reagan's tax cuts.

This is a pro-growth, anti-tax country, and Obama is running on a high tax "spread the wealth" European program.

Rasmussen has the race down to four points, and there is extraordinary volatility in the country.  The question about Obama's judgment is real and won't go away as the Ayers, Rezko, Wright and ACORN issues remain on the table and certainly tell us how Obama will staff his 3,000 appointments if he becomes president. Catholic voters got a reminder last night why Obama is the most radical abortion rights candidate for president in history, and Princeton philosopher Robert George has penned the perfect essay to send all your Catholic and pro-life friends who think a vote for Obama is acceptable because he makes the right noises in the campaign.

"The Gang of Three" --Obama, Pelosi and Reid-- are already planning how to spend your money on their friends.  Markets are watching the race closely, and a McCain surge now would be the beginning of a huge restoration of confidence in the American commitment to growth.

McCain did what he had to do last night, and must keep the focus on Obama's recipe for Depression 2.0.  The Chicago Machine is already measuring the drapes, but there's a slight wind blowing in a new direction today, and both camps know it.

As a Catholic, I believe voting for McCain should be obvious. However I worry that Pelosi and Biden are not the only Catholics who have decided to throw away the teaching authority of the Church on faith and morals. Sadly, the Catholic vote is not a given, even if Obama's stand on abortion was written out in the church bulletin every Sunday.

Hugh,

You are very wrong here, and you know it. Barack Obama will reduce the taxes of the majority of Americans. Comparing the two tax plans, I will get a greater tax cut from Obama, by about $800.00. Not a fortune, but it will help keep groceries on the table.

Well, the fact is that 20 days is still a long time in elections. Sarah is in Maine today. Somebody thinks that there are still states, electorally, up for grabs in the RNC. I sure hope so. Red States that turn to BHO for answers are turning to hate of the capitalistic system, our military, W, Wall St., because the MSM and the DNC tells them that those are the reasons for the economic mess. McCain just has not convinced people that the Dem Congress, the bums at Fannie and Freddie were the real reason for the mortgage mess. If he could , like Joe the Plumber, he could turn some states around. The facts now are that there was no Kill BHO in the Pub Rallies. There is an org., ACORN, which is cheating and trying to steal the election. BHO has questionable character, has lied about Ayers, Wright and others especially the new Kenyan connection. Will it matter? Perhaps but will 20 days swing the electoral vote? Nationally, Gallup and Ras now have it at 2-4%, BHO lead. But, only the electoral votes count. Those states have to swing toward John and only the BASE, Indies, Reagan Dems can do it.

Under Obamas tax plan small businesses will do either, 1) Cut costs to offset the added tax. They most likely will layoff workers, I should say, lay off "US" you and me. They will do other cost efficient measures, but a RIFF seems to follow. They may reduce their footprint, reducing shipping, reducing production, less jobs.
Or, the business will increase prices and pass it on down the line. Who do you think is at the end of the line with arms wide open??? US again. You and me.
We will bear the brunt of a tax increase, not the 5%. As they say, "IT" doesn't flow uphill, and we are way down the line.

With the economy the way it is, a tax increase to anyone will be devastating.

Do you understand that
no one who makes UNDER $250K will get a tax increase? Small businesses that generate $250,000 in revenue do not pay tax on that revenue, only on their profit. I realize that the elites like Hugh, who think nothing of allowing Bush to create the deficits he has, want to keep you stupid, but how many of you make $250,000 a year, you and your spouse? How many people do you know who make that much money?

How do you propose to pay off the deficit? If Obama is bad for jobs, then why has the jobless rate gone up so much under Bush? How about the 1600 workers that GM is going to lay off, announced today?

I realize that you think a guy who says that this mess of an economy is 'fundamentally sound' (and his surely is, people drink more beer in bad times, don't they?) can do something to fix it, but Bush and the GOP had their chance. The GOP even had a chance to nominate someone who had the smarts--Romney.

This is the message that Sen. McCain needs to get out for the next 3 weeks.

The idea of taxing the job creators in this country at a time when they are already worried about consumer spending, credit accessability, and overhead is a sure fire design for people in the lowest tax brackets to suffer.

What good is Obama's plan for the 95% he keeps talking about if their real income drops by more than his tax break? What good is it if it DIECTLY CAUSES people to lose their jobs entirely?

The point needs to be made clearly and directly that the differences in tax policy will have as big an impact on the length of recession and the speed of our future growth as any part of the bailout plan. The bailout plan is centered around restoring market confidence.

McCain must hammer home that Obama's tax policy will undercut that confidence and effectively waste the $750 billion that we all just held our noses and approved. Having to pass that plan is bad enough, but supporting it with the expressly stated intention of underming its desired effects (through raisng taxes on this country's job creators)is inexcusable.

Romney
Lulu mentions Romney, and it is ironic that six weeks ago, many people thought Sarah Palin would be a game-changer. Now, it turns out that having the one person in the race with a passing knowledge of economics -- Romney -- could have made all the difference. I'm not a Romney supporter, but I do wish the candidates would get a clue about the economy. The ugly truth is that spending is going to have to be cut and taxes are going to have to be raised -- otherwise, interest rates are going to soar until the government gets debt under control. High interest rates are a tax on everyone, and one with no productive return. The point is, the reality of what McCain or Obama will be forced to do by the markets will bear little resemblance to what they are saying on the campaign trail.

The price of homes skyrocketed due to the subprime mortgage mess.

We are a puny little Subchapter S Corportion that got KILLED under Clinton's tax hikes and will under Obama, if the people are stupid enuff to elect him.

Up until recently unemployment under Bush has been at an all-time low. I'm no Bush lover, but 8 more years of him look pretty good right now---sans his out of control spending.

Oh, wait. That might be McCain.

Forget the fact that Joe the Plumber is not licensed and has a federal tax lien against him for failing to pay his taxes. Ignore the fact that he is a registered Republican notwithstanding his claims of neutrality. But read about how Joe the Plumber is the son-in-law of Charles Keating...yes the very Charles Keating of the Keating 5 which involved John McCain. You cannot make this stuff up!!!

"So, you remember Joe the Plumber, who John McCain kept relentlessly bringing up. And up. The apparently undecided plumber who had complained to Barack Obama that he couldn't buy his own plumbing company because he'd have to pay 3% more in taxes. The plumber who John McCain lauded as an Everyman while oddly proclaiming "Congratulations! You're rich!" in the midst of a disastrous recession. The fellow who said that Barack Obama "tap dances better than Sammy Davis Jr."

That guy.

Well, it turns out he's the one gliding around the dance floor so much, you should expect to see him soon on "Dancing with the Stars."

You see, Joe Wurzelbacher is apparently related to Robert Wurzelbacher. Who is the son-in-law of (are you ready...?) Charles Keating!

Yes, that Charles Keating. The Charles Keating of the Keating 5 Scandal. For which John McCain was reprimanded by the United States Senate, for his involvement in attempting to illegally influence government regulators. The Charles Keating who John McCain has been trying to avoid have mentioned. So, he basically mentioned it 24 times."

The real Joe?
Before there is too much expansive enthusiasm around the new folk hero "Joe the Plummer", it may be worth a little research into who he is.

"Linda Howe, executive director of the Lucas County Board of Elections, said a Samuel Joseph Worzelbacher, whose address and age match Joe the Plumber’s, registered in Lucas County on Sept. 10, 1992. He voted in his first primary on March 4 of this year, registering as a Republican."
http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081 016/NEWS09/810160418/-1/NEWS Unfortunately, it doesn't seem he is looking out for his own financial self-interest.

Of course, for Hugh it gets back to this mantra: "Americans don't want their taxes raised." You don't need a tax increase with Bush's economic policies that have led to an $11.3 trillion federal debt; even greater sacrifice for middle class Americans is being imposed by the markets as a result of these reckless borrow and spend policies.

Lulu writes: Thursday, October, 16, 2008 4:52 PM
2% of Americans make more than $250,000
per year. That stat includes all parts of the country. If you cannot afford a house in the LA area, tough. I note that you said 'anywhere near his job'. Sorry, none of us are guaranteed housing near where we work. My sister lives in Santa Monica, California. She says that they try to pass laws that require low income housing all over LA so that workers, most of whom are earning min. wages or less, need not drive 30 or 40 miles to work. She lives 15 miles from her job, takes an hour to get there. That's LA. If 98% of the country earns less than $250,000, why should they not get a tax cut?

Joe Plumber, by the way, isn't even licensed. First things first--get licensed and see if you can buy the company. He also didn't say whether the net profit of that company is $250,000, and whether the entire profit would accrue to him as taxable income or not.

You are all lemmings. There must be a talking points memo to right wing nutters each day--the new talking point is the troika, Obama-Reid-Pelosi. OOOOH, scary, government entirely in the hands of the Dems. We survived 6 years of the GOP doing that, we'll survive anything.

Still can't tell me why joblessness is going up even while tax breaks are still on the table. I find it endlessly amusing that people whose taxes will not increase are worried for those whose taxes will increase, even though they don't give a rat's patootie if you have health insurance, or decent schools. They have theirs.

All along the distribution line, there are taxes. Our suppliers will have their taxes go up, we will have our business's taxes go up, our customers' taxes will go up.

If you're not making at least $250,000, you can't make it in our area. It's not worth the trouble or the risk. Our state taxes are high and may be going up.

The whole tax package will come in at about 60%. That's not only wrong, it's dumb.

I would be curious to know once (if) Obama is elected, how the Mormon-hating faction of the Evangelical base will feel about the results. "Oopsie?" or "Oh well, at least Obama ain't Mormon!" One never knows how the truly ignorant think. Why, when I myself was a Mormon missionary, I ran into plenty of people who *literally* believed I had horns, or drank blood, just because their preacher told them so. is a national poll. You best look at the electoral college so you don't have heart failure on 11/4.

I work very hard. I've worked hard all my life. I probably worked harder than most of you in school, since I was in high school. Top of my class, great schools, good return on my investment.

2% of the population makes over $250,000. That is a fact. Like it or not.

It isn't envy. It is the fact that few of us, even those of us who make more than $250,000, cannot afford to pay health costs. As the population ages, you will be shocked at what things are going to cost. We are alone among industrialized nations in how we distribute health care benefits. That is what people are thinking about.

No, most people in this country work very hard and never come close to $250,000. They truly do not care if the person who wants to live in LA has a long commute. Why should they? The reason things cost so much in LA is that people want to live there, supply and demand. If you want to live for less, move to Fresno. Move to Provo. Open a business. Hire people.

But don't expect people in Provo or Philly or Biloxi to feel sad for someone who is making $300,000 a year who has to pay a MARGINAL increase of 3% (taxes under Obama would be 36% up to $250,000, and 39% for the amount over $250,000; i.e. if you earn $260,000, you'll pay $3900 instead of $3600 for the additional $10,000 of income, and up to $250,000 you pay incremental rates--do you understand how taxes work? I don't think you do.). So, you want people to feel bad that someone making $260,000 has to pay $300 more in taxes than he does now? Are you joking? Esp. if the person making $240,000 is going to pay less than he is paying now.

Obama's false tax cut claims
1. Obama offers selected tax credits not tax cuts. For about 1/3 of tax filers, this is pure welfare. For the rest of us, the tax credits begin to phase out at AGI of 75K as the WSJ demonstrated Monday.

2. Obama opposes making the current tax rates permanent, so all rates for all taxpayers will go up on 1/1/2011.

3. Obama proposes lifting the cap on payroll taxes, so everyone gets hit with a 6.2% increase on AGI over 102K, and the self-employed get hit with a 12.4% increase. This by itself is a jobs killer.

Raising taxes on anyone in a bad economy is nuts.

I took two trips to East Berlin in 1978-79 and I saw first hand what "spreading the wealth" (aka socialism) does to a society. It was incredibly revealing to travel from West to East - In the West, businesses thrived, stores were well stocked and cars were all over the place. In the East - the few stores I could find and go into were a joke - two types of lamps - three types of shades - luggage was basically one brand and much cheaper looking than any Cosco brand - cars were cheap looking, few and far between and still took six months of waiting to get. 1970's Germany was an excellent social experiment - this is the same culture with the same opportunities, the same hard working and intelligent people, yet the difference was night and day - the one variable was the political/economic system - getting away from capitalism and adopting socialism will devastate this country - we should be afraid, very afraid of an Obama presidency - it will be worse than a Carter or a Hoover economy.

You are part right.

After Clinton wored harder then he had ever worked in his entire life. Billie Hoe raised income taxes on the Middle Class and the poor Americans with a gas Tax. His economy had no growth for two years after coming into Office with a growth rate of 5.2% in the previous quarter.
Clinton as Obama was the void of ideas outside of socialism.
Newt saved Clinton and in turn gave the Middle Class a second chance.

you don't read well, do you?
look at the state by state polls. Those are the only ones that count. Just so you are not shocked by the outcome. Also, there are 2 Gallup polls, one has him at 6% points. In polling, they generally throw out the top and bottom polls...so throw out the 2 and the 8, and you get about average 5.2%, beyond your margin of error. Oh, and Obama has 249 EV strongly, whereas McCain only has 140 strong, total 158 with leaning. Obama has 286 with leaning, and only needs 21 of the 37 leaning to get to 270. Meanwhile, even if McCain were to get all 92 of the tossup states, that is still only 252, winning all of the tossups, including states like FLA, OH, and NV where Obama is polling ahead of him. Right now (and I'm admitting there is time to go, even the Patriots lost last year's superbowl), Obama is winning in the states where he's ahead or leaning beyond the margin of error or Bradley effect.

And then there is the Palin effect--friends who hate Sarah who won't admit they are voting for Obama. Kind of like my mother who voted for JFK in 1960 but never told my dad, took that to her grave, lol.

We've had more than a bit of socialism for decades. Ever heard of FDR? Lyndon Johnson and his not-so-Great Society?

We have way more socialism than we need already. We should be moving that pendulum back the other way.

BClinton did OK because he had the Gingrich Congress forcing him kicking and screaming into welfare reform and balanced budgets. Obama will have no such "oversight" with Scary Harry and Nutty Nancy.

Ya know any poor people who are hiring? Because I know small business owners who are gearing up for layoffs if Obama gets elected.

I haven't met a single business owner (and I know dozens) who isn't convinced that the cost of hiring/keeping employees will go up in a BO administration. A "tax credit" for hiring you say? BO has no idea how much it costs to hire someone.

If BO is elected, I personally will turn down work before I hire anyone. I'll also be pulling most of my money out of the banks, and buying canned goods, ammo, and precious and not so precious metals. An' I ain't the only one.

I grew up poor, and I've worked way to hard for what I've got to let some limp-wristed socialist try to take it from me because he feels bad that there are lazy and indigent people.

Why the heck do you think you are entitled to one dime of my or anyone else's money? Why do we have to pay your freight?

If you want $800 bucks per year ($15 bucks a week) for "groceries," here's a wild idea: go earn it.

You have a computer and time to blog on it -- sell the computer and spend your time making more money, if that's what you want. Heck, you even speak English. Millions in this country find jobs and they can't even read a want ad. People with no arms and legs work for a living in this country. Blind people. Cancer patients go to work every day. What's your excuse for mooching off others?

You personify the pitiful, Nanny-state, "where's my check?" prole. You are destroying this country -- yes, YOU, sister. And you probably feel no shame whatsoever. Pathetic.

So, Plumber
gear up and cut your nose off to spite your face. Why would you layoff people before you've even seen the tax code changes, eh? Turn down work. That will just allow others to move into the vacuum you create. In the construction biz, for example, some builders are out of business, others are simply moving into their areas and laying low for awhile. Things always come back. How'd you do during the Clinton years?

Do you realize that the major beneficiaries of tax cuts are not working stiffs like you, but big companies, like the ones you rail against, Oil companies, etc. Companies that outsource jobs to other countries.

Why must you use terms like limp wristed? What the heck does that mean anyway. And way too many folks know their taxes will go down with Obama, not up, and they frankly don't care about you anymore than you seem to care about them. They are your workers. They can see right through you, Plumber. You'd rather lay off another taxpayer (or are your employees lazy and indigent) than pay another $300 per $10000 of income over $250,000 of taxable income each year. And the tax credit, why is that bad?

Just so I'm clear...if you, Plumber, net income of $400,000, on the $150,000 of income, you'd now pay$54,000 at the 36% tax rate. Under Obama, it would be $58500, or $4500 more. So, for $4500 a year in a tax increase, you would terminate how many employees? How much profit do you make per employee? You'd forego $150,000 in additional income because you have to pay $4500 more? And you call the $4500 more 'socialism'? You have no money sense, do you?

I'm keying very s-l-o-w-l-y, so that you can understand.

1. A tax cut to someone who does not pay taxes is welfare, not a tax cut.

2. A person who gets up every morning, goes to work every day, owns what he/she earns. The government does not own it.

3. Everyone should have to pay a minimum income tax on all their income. Yes, even that income that comes from government handouts. You would be surprised how quickly lower income folks would start questioning tax hikes.

4. The reality is Michelle Obama complains that when she and Obama were only making $200,000-$300,000 per annum, they had a hard time paying their bills. People who earn that kind of money deserve to live as they chose, not as some jealous government wonk determines.

Got it? The money you earn does not belong to the government it belongs to the earner. Period.

Look, this election choice is a moral issue: Pro-family, Anti-abortion, Anti-heathen.

...But this idea that Obama is a socialist because he's going to increase a portion of people's taxes by a few percentage points is absurd, and it's not true.

...And more importantly, focusing on it WON'T WIN THIS ELECTION, because there's only 2% of people earning over $250,000 a year that it affects (at least that's the public's perception)

So I urge everyone to drop this socialist garbage, it doesn't ring true and it won't help. We're pro-marriage, pro-life, pro-family, pro-family values, anti-sin, pro-God, pro-morality.

New State Polls today
(CNN) — John McCain continues to lose ground in three battleground states, new CNN polls of polls out Thursday suggest.

According to the new surveys, McCain is still slipping in Pennsylvania, Florida, and even Colorado — a state that hasn't voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1992.

In the new Pennsylvania poll of polls, McCain now trails Barack Obama by a 13 point margin, 53-40 percent. That deficit is up from 12 points in a poll of polls released earlier this week.

In Florida, the state that handily voted for President Bush in 2004, McCain trails Obama by 4 points in the latest CNN poll of polls, 49-45 percent. That's up from a 3 point gap there over the weekend.

And in Colorado, a longtime Republican stronghold where McCain has held the advantage for months, the new CNN poll of polls shows Obama on top by 6 percentage points, 50-44 percent. Earlier this week, Obama held a 5-point lead over McCain.

Joe the Plumber isn't even a legal
Plumber, ruh roh....lol. From NBC News

"Legally speaking, Wurzelbacher isn’t a plumber, because he isn’t licensed by Toledo, Lucas County

Building Inspection officials said Newell was responsible for making sure that anyone working under him was licensed. The Toledo Plumbing Board of Control may consider sanctions against Wurzelbacher or Newell, officials told NBC affiliate WNWO of Toledo.

“There’s a lot I’ve got to learn” about the plumbing business, Wurzelbacher said Thursday.

Wurzelbacher also acknowledged that he had no specific plans for buying Newell’s business, saying he and Newell had simply talked about the idea from time to time. He might have difficulty making the purchase: Court records from his divorce show that Wurzelbacher made $40,000 in 2006.

Even if he did buy Newell Plumbing and Heating, Obama’s tax plan wouldn’t affect him. While Wurzelbacher told Obama that he would be taxed at a higher rate because the company grossed more than $250,000 a year, Ohio business records show the company’s estimated total annual revenue as only $100,000. Actual taxable income would be even less than that."

I call your messiah "limp-wristed" because I don't consider him a man. No socialist with male genitalia is a real man. Men rely on reason to make decisions, socialists rely on feelings. Obama's wife is more of a man than he is.

I don't make anywhere near $250K. If I hire another plumber and an apprentice, I could. But if I hire a couple of guys, your messiah and his apostles Reid and Pelosi will mandate that I provide them health insurance.

But the numbers ultimately don't mean a damned thing compared to the principle. It's not Obama's money to spend. He's not the one who earned it. My decision to provide or not provide health insurance in my company is my business, not Obama's. And the choice should be left up to the employee, not Obama, whether s/he wants to work for an employer who provides insurance or not.

PS: You've never seen me "rail" against big companies in your life. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are another thing altogether. These socialist institutions were RAPED by Obama advisors Raines and Johnson, and other Democrats. She believes that the government owns our money. That same government, working from enlightened principles, knows how much of our money we should be allowed to keep and how much it can take--at the point of a gun--to further its aims.

She also believes that this same government is managed by incredibly intelligent people who have sacrificed their prospects of becoming famous or wealthy in order to toil on our behalves at the thankless task of, as The Metrosexual puts it, "spread[ing] the wealth around."

You have got to horse laugh at the liberals, out with their attack point that Joe the Plumber is "apparently related" to some other guy who is the son-in-law (yes, the son-in-law) of some other guy, Charles Keating.

Suddenly -- SHAZZAM!!! -- "associations" -- even an alleged apparent relation to the son-in-law of someone else -- are front and center with them.

Here are a few much closer associations that are actually confirmed:

Obama-Ayers
Obama-Rezko
Obama-Wright
Obama-Pfleger
Obama-ACORN
Obama-Alinsky
Obama-Raines
Obama-Johnson
Obama-Fannie Mae
Obama-Freddie Mac
Obama-Michelle Obama
Obama-Pelosi
Obama-Dodd
Obama-Reid
Obama-Frank

Not to mention that Obama is apparently the ninth cousin of Brad Pitt, who is probably related to a guy who knew a plumber, who was in a union, with another guy who was married to a woman whose husband was the third cousin once-removed of another guy who was once a plumber in Toledo, which of course is where Joe the plumber plumbs (but that's just a plumber in the ordinary sense, perhaps not the licenced-by-the-county-plumbing-clerk "legally speaking" sense), which can be no coincidence, now can it?

No, I don't think the govt 'owns'
your money or mine. And I dare say our family makes a whole lot more than most here. Kids are gone, two professionals making a lot of money. But we get our tax deductions--why should our home interest be deductible? It is.

Obama is going to give 95% of taxpayers a tax cut. I'm actually in the 5% that won't get one, we'll get a fairly minor tax hike. Hardly worth terminating employees for. Did you see the math above, or do you simply not understand it?

Someone here said that if they had to pay $300 more in tax for each $10,000 in income they earned over $250,000, they would either close their business or fire people. If they had to provide health insurance to employees, even though they'd get a tax deduction for doing so, they would prefer to hire fewer employees. Yet, these are the same people who also think that the govt. should not impose wage minimums. So, you want the market to set wages, even at subhuman levels, but you don't want anyone to help those people who, for varying reasons, cannot afford to live a basic life. You don't want anyone to have an abortion, but you rag at them if they have 'kids they cannot afford.'

Look at the numbers, PLEASE. You earn $249,000, your tax bracket will not go up. You earn $251,000, the $2000 over $249,000 is taxed at 39%--and not 36%, that is a $60 difference. You are already paying 36%, that's $300 difference per $10,000 OVER $250,000.

And 2% of Americans earn over $250,000.

Spreading The Wealth Democracy Style

As opposed to Democrat(ick) style.

In a TRUE democracy, people vote with their pocketbooks. This is what drives the radicalized Democrat(ick) party crazy.

In the 1960s, a bunch of radicals got into the inner city of Watts, California and convinced the inhabitants to riot. Oh yeah, that did a lot of good.

Businesses voted with their purse strings and moved out in droves, leaving the residents with no jobs and no place to shop.

This is very harsh, but this is the consequences of burning down businesses: they go away! It is like some slob that beats up his wife and then seems puzzeled that she moves out.

The 60s radicals soon worked that their activities had the opposite effect from the one they were hoping for, and started doing something different. I was around a lot of these people at the time, and they started doing what they called "working from the inside."

Thus, the idea of the Community Organizer was born, and they snapped up more sources of public funds than that guy in the late night infomercials.

In this way, they could funnel money into the places they wanted, to try and avoid the consequences of radical behavior.

Their ultimate plan, of course, is creating a manchurian candidate who will help them funnel all the taxpayer money wherever they want it to go.

This, of course, is known as Marxism, where they take away everybody's money and give it to the people they want to give it to.

Mountain Rose writes: Thursday, October, 16, 2008 9:02 PM
Spreading the Wealth Democracy Style II
In the old system, when people fell out of line and behaved badly, there were social consequences, and often these people had to shape up and conform to the rest of society or live under a bridge. Or they would stumble into the Salvation Army, and have to shape up in exchange for food, a cot, and a change of clothes.

Under the "new" system, the radicals can direct money to people who don't behave as society dictates, and they can encourage further radical behavior.

This is why Obama wants the wealth spred around from a central location, where he and his radical buds can determine where it goes.

And this is exactly why the whole of society benefits when the wealth goes where it will organically, so that We The People can vote with our pocketbooks and say directly what kind of society we want to live in.

Median household income year before Bush I took office (all figures in 2007 dollars): $45,852

His last year: $44,359

Yes, people were worse off than they'd been four years earlier.

Median household income in Clinton's last year: $50,557

But words are not enough. I realize that I must accompany my ruefulness with action.

Do any of you (what I would have previously called redneck, beyond-loathing, right-wing subhumans) remember that scene in the 1982 movie, Gandhi, where the Nearly Nekkid One tells a Hindu parent how he can make amends for killing a Muslim child's parents?

The skinny sage intones, "Take the child into your house and raise him as your own...........only raise him as a Muslim!!"

I, Lulu resolve before all of you assembled to take Larkspirit into my upscale home (where I live with my partner, a professional like me who also adores paying taxes), to have and hold, in sickness and in health, with a separate bedroom.

Also, Consuelo, our Nicaraguan maid, will be at Lark's disposal.

Spread around the wealth?
As I read through the vast expanse of raging criticism about Joe the plumber on other blogs, I notice a distinct pattern that mimics perfectly the obfuscating that their favored candidate Senator Barack Obama throws out daily. All of these angry bloggers pour forth vile comments, but fail to address the fact that Barack Obama said he would spread around the wealth by taking more money from others. And, by the way, roughly 70% of small businesses with more than 10 employees have owners that earn more than $250,000 a year.

Senator Obama and his campaign have been going around today stating "They don't know any small business owners that make over $250,000 a year". Clearly, they are either being untruthful or just don't know the facts. Either way, this accentuates the case that tax and spend liberals do not understand the economy. Our country cannot afford to have the "gang of 3" running things on Capitol Hill.

Finally, those same small businesses now supply a lions share of new jobs as many large corporations are cutting back. Senator Obama's plan will bite the hand that feeds our economy thus deepening the recession.

Vote for John McCain... keep our capital and jobs here in the USA.

In your championing of "civil rights for all Americans," do you commonly use an array of ethnic epithets, or do you confine your hate speech to "redneck?" (As a lifelong redneck, I am naming one of my shotguns LuLu in your honor.)

Help me understand what you mean by "civil rights," if indeed it means anything other than "what LuLu wants LuLu to be entitled to," or "what makes LuLu feel righteous."

For instance, if the government declares an until-recently unknown-in-human-history "civil right" for lesbian and gay couples to marry . . . how about triples? What principled reason would any such state have to bar a set of three in-love and commitment-professing same-sex adults from marrying? (The "I do's would be a bit more complicated, perhaps including an "I do, too" line in the nuptials, and the first dance at the reception might have to be a line dance, but otherwise, it would seem workable.) Why wouldn't their tripartite "civil right" be just as worthy of state sanction as your and your partner's?

I've asked and heard it asked for years. Never a logical response. Be the first, LuLu -- tell us what principled reason if any should bar a government that permits gay couples to marry from extending the same right to gay triples?

Little Red Hen Part1
Once upon a time, there was a little red hen who scratched about the barnyard until she uncovered some grains of wheat.

She called her neighbors and said, “If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?”

“Not I,” said the cow.
“Not I,” said the duck.
“Not I,” said the pig.
“Not I,” said the goose.

“Then I will,” said the little red hen, and she did.

The wheat grew tall and ripened into golden grain. “Who will help me reap my wheat?” asked the little red hen.

“Not I,” said the duck.
“Out of my classification,” said the pig.
“I’d lose my seniority,” said the cow.
“I’d lose my unemployment compensation,” said the goose.

“Then I will,” said the little red hen, and she did.

Little Red Hen Part2
At last it came time to bake the bread. “Who will help me bake the bread?” asked the little red hen.

“That would be overtime for me,” said the cow.
“I’d lose my welfare benefits,” said the duck.
“I’m a dropout and never learned how,” said the pig.
“If I’m to be the only helper, that’s discrimination,” said the goose.

“Then I will,” said the little red hen.

She baked five loaves and held them up for her neighbors to see. They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share.

But the little red hen said, “No, I can eat the five loaves.”

“Excess profits!” cried the cow.
“Capitalist leech!” screamed the duck.
“I demand equal rights!” yelled the goose.
And the pig just grunted.

And they painted “unfair” picket signs and marched around and around the little red hen, shouting obscenities.

When the government agent came, he said to the little red hen, “You must not be greedy.”

“But I earned the bread,” said the little red hen.

“Exactly,” said the agent. “That is the wonderful free enterprise system. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide their product with the idle.”

And they lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, “I am grateful. I am grateful.”

But her neighbors wondered why she never again baked any more bread.

Attacking Joe W.
The libs are hysterical as usual. Since S. J. Wurzelbacher of Toledo ("Joe the Plumber") elicited a candid confession from Sen Obama that "I don't want to punish your success, but [take your earnings and give them to] those behind you...Spread the wealth around..." the libs have started attacking the voter! Mr. Wurzelbacher's particulars (tax lein, unliscensed sub-contractor...) mean NOTHING pertinent to the issue revealed in the exchange: SEN BARACK OBAMA IS A SOCIALIST.

America must not allow a socialist to become president. In another rare moment of honesty, Sen Obama said in his closing statement of the debate that he wanted to bring "fundamental change" to America. That's the truth people seem blinded to: Barack Obama wants to change America's very foundation! Read the book that has inspired Sen Obama's actions throughout his political life, Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." It explains how to destroy America from within, and that is exactly what Sen Obama wants to do.

Liberals, if you knew that Wm Ayers co-wrote "Dreams from my Father" with Barack Obama, would you care? After all, Sen Obama said he didn't really know Ayers, but he was just "a guy from the neighborhood." Of course, the senator has had to amend that huge lie, given that we know they worked together for at least seven years, and that the aspiring politician sought the terrorist out as the one person in whose home he wanted to launch his career.

But what would you think about the revelation of such a deep intellectual partnership? The evidence is mounting that indeed Ayers co-wrote "Dreams."

I contend that Obama and Ayers are like-minded in their abject hatred of America. Nothing the senator has ever done counters that notion, and many things he does and says bolster it. If you vote for him, and if he becomes president, it's on you. Do not claim ignorance, as you will have no excuse.

You're hungry and I have an extra loaf of bread.

I need my yard mowed, but an accident has left me without legs.

You offer to mow my yard in exchange for my extra loaf of bread. I agree.

This is called the barter system. It is the basis of free market capitalism.

Now let's say that you are similarly disabled and cannot mow my lawn, but you are still hungry. You are a computer tech, however I don't need or want your services. So you exchange your skills to someone who needs their computer serviced for the price of a gold coin. You exchange that coin to me for bread, and I in turn hire the kid next door to mow my lawn in exchange for the gold coin which you gave me in exchange for a loaf of bread.

Capitalism is a natural part of the human (societal) condition. Socialism is unnatural because it must be forced by government. The only thing natural about government is its ability to coerce compliance. There is nothing altruistic about coercion; coercive altruism is an oxymoron and cannot logically exist.

If it isn't natural, it isn't logical.

Our Money?
As our country sinks deeper and deeper into financial crisis little is being said about the direct link of our dependence on foreign oil. The exorbitant cost of fuel has strained every aspect of our economy. It doesn't stop at filling up the family vehicles to get back and forth to work and tend to the necessities, as if that were not enough of a sucker punch to our budgets. Utility bills have also seen record rate hikes to cover their increased production costs. Every consumer product has seen sharp rises in both production and shipping costs that are readily passed on to us. There is little to no money left over for savings or investing. Jobs and homes are being lost at a record high rate. We have many natural resources of energy that could be easily tapped such as wind, solar and wave. We also have many advanced technological resources available such as hybrid cars; plug in cars, and alternative fuels. There is obviously no easy and fast solution but we need to be proactive as a nation to devise a plan to incorporate all that is available to us to get ourselves out from under the iron grip of our dependence on foreign oil. We continue to pump hundreds of billions of American's hard earned dollars overseas to countries that hate us with each gallon of their oil we pump. We act dumbfounded as we are swept up in our economy as it goes down the tubes. We are an intelligent nation; we are a technologically advanced nation. We are a nation with the resources we need to end this but we are a nation without a plan.

I just purchased a newly released book by Jeff Wilson called "The Manhattan Project of 2009." What an eye-opener the revelations in this book are to me and should be to our nation at large.

..of coercive altruism.

Look at the serious damage the nanny state has done to the underclass and indeed the entire country: 3 generations on welfare, a 70% illegitmate rate in some quarters, open borders, welfare and free education for everyone who can get one foot on this side of "la linea,"...

...hideous school conditions, entire towns waiting for their government checks each month, gang run neighborhoods where there are more murders than Baghdad, illegal aliens and others buying 3-4 houses with a subprime mortgage and turning them into crack houses, and on and on.

Hard working taxpayers are coerced into paying some little twit who makes her bones by having some gang banger's baby.

All this and more subsidized by the good ol' American taxpayer--and Barack wants to make more of it by "spreading the wealth around."

He says "95%" will get a "tax break." Since nearly 40% don't even pay taxes, what's he talking about? Well, that's easy.

The "tax break" of the 40$ is a welfare check. Those getting welfare will get an increase. They just don't call it "welfare" anymore.

Whatever you feed with money...grows. Hello.

Barack is a naive little ninny who actually believes he's going to help the country. God help us.

More: WIC...
...which is the government program to ensure "woman, infants and children" are well nourished. Certainly in the national interest, to be sure. However,....

Last week a WIC employee called a talk show, reporting that 50% of newborns are now on WIC. I dunno. I haven't checked.

But her main point was that her superiors were only interested in getting as many people into the program as possible...just in increased their fiefdom. Hey! It's not their money.

No one ever made an effort to help people become self-reliant. Plumber and others here talking about "nature." Well, the nature of most humans is to become increasingly weak and dependent as they are given freebies.

I live near the borders. WIC workers a while back were spreading flyers all over Tijuana, inviting Mexican women to come up and sign up.

The nanny state is an unholy alliance between "government" growing itself like crazy and the "poor," with the hapless American taxpayer taking it in the shorts.

And More: Government Worker Unions...
...are destroying CA. Swarzenegger tried to fight them when he first took over. They were too strong for the Terminator and he lost--and my one Golden State is turning to caca.

San Diego, once "America's finest city" is in a world of hurt financially because the city council kept voting city workers (and themselves) higher and higher wages--and even high retirement plans.

Their retirement is higher than their working salary. Of course, they broke the bank. And now the city has to pay to defend itself from law suits becaue it cannot meet the demands of the contracts.

CA is the best (worst?) example of effect of Barack's policies would have. 16 Billion $$ in debt. People cannot get paid. Arnold is begging at Washington's door. And well he should. Much of the problem stems from open borders and that, in my opinion, is Washington's duty: to defend our borders.

You knuckleheads can defend Barack all you want. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. We already know his proposals are a disaster.

Short sentences are best
Joe the Plumber is a liar, tax cheat, and will get a tax cut.

raising taxes is bad for everyone
i don't get the mind set of you dems. joe the plummer might not make 250 a year or really the vast majority of us. but the company joe the plummer gets his equiment from does. and i don't think there going to be so quick to jump at the chance of paying more taxes. under obama's plan the company could possible do the same about of work or more and make less profit then they did the year before. so naturaly they will raise the cost of joe plummers equiment to make up the difference. how is that going to be good for any of us.

Short sentences:
Joe the Plumber is not running for president.
Barack Obama is a socialist.
Barack Obama hates America.
Anyone who votes for Obama is ignorant, evil, or both.

Also, LuLu
Joe the Plumber did not claim to make $250k+. Lying libs like LuLu made that claim for him, falsely. JtP said he ASPIRES to own a business making $250k+, and asked Sen Obama why he would raise taxes on him if he did that.

That's when the America-hating socialist confessed he wanted to steal the earnings of the successful to "spread the wealth" to those who chose to rely on Uncle Sugar for their well-being.

Joe the Plumber Is Irrelevant
Obama's assumptions are relevant: Tax and spread.
