Schumer: 'The Hard Right, Which Still Believes' in 'Traditional Values'...'All That Is Over.'
Posted by: Greg Hengler at 12:25 PM
Thank you Jillian Bandes for posting on this.

Schumer also says this in the clip:

"I think President Obama has a pretty smart strategy.  He is going to talk bipartisanship to the American people.  But realizes until the Republican grassroots pushes their people over, if that ever happens, we are not going get change in the House or Senate."

So let me get this straight. Obama will "talk bipartisanship" but "change" won't happen until Republicans agree with Democrats. That's bipartisanship?

Exit Question: Does Obama's "strategy" of talk apply to world leaders who disagree with him?

This man makes a fool of himself each time he opens his mouth. I guess that he has decided that we should be a one party government. Everyone should just agree with what Obama wants. I doubt that he will convince the public that this is a good idea.

I love that video where Suzanne Gratia tells Schumer and his cohorts on some Senate panel that the reason the 2nd Amendment exists is to protect the American people from the likes of them. The look on his face is priceless.

"Strong foreign policy: all that is OVER
Chuck Schumer (4-07-09)..stated: "But the hard right, which still believes when the federal government moves chop off its hands, still believes, you know, traditional values kind of arguments and strong foreign policy, all that is over."

Bea says: The above-statement is soooo totally incoherent that even a genetically altered "Yoda-type" could not clarify (unmangle) the errant, syntax. ALTHOUGH.....the partial (half) final sentence......."traditional values kind of arguments and strong foreign policy, all that is over".

Hey, Senator Schumer.... "Traditional values and strong foreign policy......all that is over"?????
WHAT????? "Traditional values and strong foreign policy.....all that is over????????????

I am stunned! I never connected you with BO's ilk as to attempting to weaken our foreign policy. You have NOW OPENED THE EYES OF ALL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AS TO YOUR ALLEGIANCE or lack thereof.

Thank you, Senator, for the eye-opening insight. You apparently want to be counted as an ally, not of the US: reiteration of your comments: (.."stong foreign policy....all that is over"); BUT, that of BO, your "lord and master". So much for individulistic thinking, Senator. Thank you again, for the exceptional insight as to your loyalty, commitment to the US, and total adherence as to the US Constitution.
Bea writes: Thursday, April, 09, 2009 1:39 PM
SCHUMER needs an INTERPRETER....
...as to clarification????? Senator Schumer stated (4-09-09): "But realizes until the Republican grassroots pushes their people over, if that ever happens, we are not going get change in the House or Senate."

Senator Schumer states: ".....until the Republican grassroots "pushes their people over".....?

Senator, does this sound comprehensible IN YOUR HEAD when you read it back? Read it out-loud! What are you attempting to convey?

Senator, again, what is this statement implying? "......until the Republican grassroots pushes their people OVER....."?

Are you suggesting some type of aggression as to the Republican grassroots vs. its constituency? Please clarify this imbecilic drivel!

The poor people of NY: they appears to be victims of your density. No wonder multiple NYers are planning an exodus.

A nations can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. And enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the Traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling though all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor, he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soulr of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politci so that it can no longer resist. a murderer is less to fear. Traditional values and priciples don't change like fashions from the latest Paris showing. This is what the fouders knew and the reason they tried to write the constitution as strictly as possible without infringing on an individuals freedoms. They also predicted everything we are seeing come to be the nightmare of their dreams. Their entire effort, The American Revolution will be for nothing as we will once again be under an oppressive government led by an executive branch holding powers it was never supposed to have. Once more, I warn liberals to be careful of what you ask. This President may not be Hitler, but who will follow him?

Actually Rachel's lead-in was so sympathetic that Schumer must have forgotten he was on television but a totally "inside" crowd, so just like Obama's "cling to God and guns" he said some nonsensical dissing of middle America whose votes the Dems will need to the next round.

Though nothing explains his performance art a month back, complete with waving dismissive hands regarding Americans not caring about a "little pork"

Indeed, Diane.
I haven't relished a fight like this since I don't know when. And I say this as a person who helped put Obama in office, since I voted for Chuck Baldwin. Conservatism needs a "come-to-Jesus" moment, and that's why I couldn't vote for the status quo. It's working out pretty much as I hoped it would: McCain goes down and American conservatism begins to redefine itself. And it's happening much more quickly and with more vigor than I thought it would. And these liberals here just can't stand it, so they're forced prate on about our "irrelevance" and such. They'll see.

But, there are many more rich Dems since they are the party of the rich elites these days, so I hope this will translate into a net gain for poor conservatives who will remember Schumer's advocacy of weak foreign policy and his mockery of "traditional family values" come election time.

Up yours, Schumer.

Mandate??
Did Obama get a mandate in Nov.08? No he did not, take the special election in the good senators state of NY. Joe Tedisco won,you wouldn't know about it because the drive by media are under reporting it.However, if Obama had a mandate the Democratic candidate should have won in a land slide. The distric is somewhat conservative but the demographics are shifting liberal, look at Dutchess county for example.

So if I was the Obama crew I wouldn't be overstepping what I believed was polical capital with polarizing issues such as immigration etc.Obvously he can not multi task, for he should finish one "good crisis" before he starts another.

It is my humble opinion that the democrats under the leadership of Pelosi and Reid have overstepped enormously and there will be a sea change in Nov.2010.

How much more stupid can the democratic party look. They continue to insult the intelligents of the American people. They have lost touch and Schumer is an idiot. Where does he get off saying that the conservative values are over. This just shows how out of touch the democratic party and drunk with power they have become. They think because they are in control right now. Well I feel that will be changing. Americans are waking up and it is time we remember we are the power. We are the control of this government and they tyranny that is going on in this administration is enough to remove them and start over. Our founding fathers left us this power and it is time to take it back. If the lunny left can get out here and scream and act like idiots we on the right can also get our but we can act human because REMEMBER THERE ARE MORE OF US THAN THEY ARE OF THEM. Bipartisanship?
"But realizes until the Republican grassroots pushes their people over [to the left?], if that ever happens, we are not going get change [to an all liberal idealism?] in the House or Senate."- Can someone on the left explain to me why bipartisanship means that republicans or those on the right must adopt and agree with those on the left? It seems like that door never swings both ways. When we disagree with the leftists we are seen as a pain or holding back "progression" but yet when the left disagrees with the right the right is obviously wrong and should change their ideas. Just a strange double standard, but I guess that's where we are headed now.

Values make the difference
Many people are Christians who will not change our values for any political party. We are conservatives because the basic biblical values which this country was based on which came from the true Bible of the one GOD, the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The killing of young unborn babies is wrong. The allowance of Partial Birth Abortion is a crime against man and god.
I do not believe in discrimination against anybody for any reason, I also do not believe in “special benefits” for people. We should all be treated equally. Schumer is wrong, why should we change to a system which openly discriminates against Christians? This country is a Christian country, the president might not be…
Christians have their rights as well as anybody. Many within the Democratic Party do not respect our beliefs and out rights. The Democratic Party is not working with the Republicans.
I want a government that is “party blind” the Congressmen and Senators along with the President of the US should make decisions that are in the best interest of everyone, not just a particular party.

That's what the conservatives need, just like the libs have, going through peoples trash at three in the morning to see if a comdom turns up. These people disgust me. There total lack of respect for the constitution is traitorous and the political decorum is lower than whale sh*t. Peole wonder why Republicans don't want to run for office! who would? If they can't find anything real they just through allegations at you like they did Newt. Gingrich was the last fiscally responsible Republican in office. After that it was one party in the grab bag. We are at the crossroads now. If the Dems. get another 5% on the dole, they will get elected until the country goes totally under.

RE: Tradtional Values are "Over"?
Maybe Schumer's just talking too much, tipping the hand of his party.

Traditional values are "over"? To be replaced by what? Obama's Eternal Campaign? The used-car-sales pitch to the American public -- whom he seriously underestimates.

Or maybe Schumer just means political freedom and justice are over. Or possibly life, liberty, and the pursuite of happiness are over.

So, we're all supposed to join hands on a hillside and sing now? Or join a labor union? Or both, maybe? While bowing to the Saudi prince?

If Schumer is waiting for grassroots Republicans to "push over" their reps in congress, methinks he's going to wait a very long time. And he may be very unpleasantly surprised with the upcoming mid-term elections.
