In addition to Majority Leader John Boehner urging Republican Congressmen to vote against the stimulus, the powerful Club For Growth is also trying to pressure legislators to vote no.
In a press release this morning, The Club announced that any congressman who votes for the bill will be disqualified from receiving the Club's "Defender of Economic Freedom" Award in the year 2009.
The award usually goes to members of Congress who score above 90 on the Club's yearly scorecard, but in this case the stimulus vote will be weighted so heavily that it will be impossible for any "yes" voter to get the title.
The Club is one of the nation's top fiscal conservative organizations, and their endorsement matters a lot in Republican primaries...

It's an interesting tidbit, but I'm afraid the Club For Growth has lost a lot of credibility with those of us who are not economic libertarians with their willingness to turn a blind eye to poor fiscal policy choices of candidates who looked like what they wanted for President and unfairly crucifying candidates who did not look like what they wanted for President.

Kool Aid..of the purple hue I presume, I've got a suggestion since you are so enamored of being taxed, pay mine, in fact I have a rather large brood, you can pay all of their too. You IDIOT! This country was founded because of Taxation without Representation, and as someone posted awhile ago, now we have Taxation WITH Representation. If any poltician dared even suggest what these morons have enacted in the past two years and are slobbering all over themselves to push more onerous laws (which they, because they are more "qualified" can ignore. To them when they cheat it's a hiccup or a mistake). You are a royal nincompoop..I WANT my TAXES CUT in fact I would throw a huge party if the current code and IRS were dumped. Then with a fair tax or flat one, old Charlie Rangel and Timmy Geithner wouldn't have to worry if they get the hiccups. Rangel is chair of the TAX WRITING Committee for crying out loud!! |

Obama doesn't carry enough weight to nail any GOPers to the wall - with the exception of maybe McCain. Why don't you go to Kos with your cause. Nobody is changing on account of you.
RUSH!! RUSH!! RUSH!! Hurry, hurry hurry to stand in opposition! to the foreplay bill. |

Every day, every blog and more garbage from the resident loony lib.
"The do-nothing GOP Congress minority Heh. All the Do-nothings only know how to kill an economy."
Yep, 50+ months of continuous growth, low unemployment and record federal revenues...and then we handed the reins over to Nancy & Harry and the economy went down faster than a Clinton intern. You guys have held the power for 26 months now and still won't take any responsibility for your (in)actions. How long do we have to wait until you take some responsibility; one year, 4 years, 8 years? Give us a clue...if you have one.

YES! Some opposition to the Obama regime from Club for Growth. Maybe some Rebublicans can get on board too.
Hey I note that since August when it became clear Obama would win, the markets have been tanking. I'm not blaming Obama for all of it but given markets reflect past events and future expectations, this tells me that expectations is that Obama is gonna worsen the problem. There doesn't seem to be any confidence in his economic policies. Bush had one foot in socialism, it seems Obama is going to jump in with both feet. Who can have confidence in that? |

Has this guy ever been right about anything? Like the heritage foundation, you put a name on a building and Viola- the sheep will follow to their own detrement. Billy Cristol is another perfect example, Phil Gramm "Stop Whinning" I mean come on, tax cuts are all theese Johnny one notes have to offer? Didn't we have twelve years of tax cuts and eight years of deficits to the tune of eleventy btribillion sheckels? Maybe, just maybe try a different tack. I want no Republicans to vote for this stimulus. They will spend forty years wandering and wondering. Don't wake up! |

take his "trump" and go it alone. His trip up to the Hill was a publicity stunt to try to get Republicans to take part in this scam so when it fails, he can get some political cover for his precious 'unifier' image. B as in B and S as in S. |
