Throwing The Sinking Obama An Anchor: The McCain Palin Lipstick Ad
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 9:29 AM
McCain-Palin launches a response to Obama's "lipstick on a pig" ad.

Sarah Palin doesn't need anyone to defend her, but Obama needs an army of handlers to defend him from himself.  (Mark Steyn thinks Obama may be up to two packs a day soon.  HT: RobinsonandLong.com).

The protests from Obama and his MSM blocking backs won't persuade ordinary Americans who instantly recognized Obama's attack as directed at Palin, and who know he has a record of such junior high trash talk antics (especially the finger gesture.)  (See also Michelle Malkin's blistering rebuke to MSM's sorority that wants to keep Palin at home with her kids.)

Here's an e-mail from one of my pals in "the business":

As a marketer, I can tell you it’s critical to remain on message.  Throughout the summer, the Obama campaign has, for the most part, stayed on point and moved away from some of their springtime elitist gaffes. “Obama is a once-in-a-generation kind of leader, and extraordinary communicator, against old-style politics and negativism, a fighter for families,” etc.  We’ve all had it (successfully) drilled into our heads.

What’s amazing to me is, since the Palin announcement, just how off message the Obama campaign has been.  For 12 days and counting

  • He hasn’t had a “good communicator” day since his acceptance speech.  Tell me where he’s looked or sounded Presidential?
  • He keeps comparing himself  and his record to his opponent’s VP pick – thereby diminishing himself as POTUS
  • He’s looking elitist again, with the small town mayor attack
  • A “fighter for families” and his campaign attacks a woman’s family (with teen pregnancy and a Downs baby) – not good
  • They’ve now gone negative big-time.  That “pig” statement is going to hurt him.  And it may hurt him with those Hillary supporters and feminist groups who have bit their tongues up until now.

12 days off message is a disaster.  And they still look utterly lost.

Contrast Obama's gutter tactics with yesterday's call from Cheryl, posted by Duane below.

Obama is hemorrhaging support for a variety of reasons --his paper thin resume is being shredded even further; Joe Biden is a gaffe machine; Bill Ayers helpfully posts a cartoon announcing that violence isn't necessarily the answer;  the world's inherent risks are continually springing up, as with Kim's disappearance.

But mostly it isn't about Obama losing support, but about McCain-Palin gaining support as millions of Americans sense a genuine commitment on the part of the GOP ticket to reversing Washington's culture of corruption --both Congress's corruption and MSM's.  The former spends and spends and refuses to do obvious things like authorize drilling offshore or overhaul entitlements. The latter covers for the former with a systemic left-wing bias that explodes again in every news cycle.

Genius stuff....
The bad news: idiots all over America will read this and think it matters.

They will ignore McCain's record and his 90% pro-Bush voting recor and again, stupid voters will vote against their own best interest.

The good news: the GOP hate machine is a brilliant organism. It keeps the conversation diverted from what really matters and focused on trivial, stupid side-shows.

What matters? John McCain is 90% like George W. Bush.

Anything else is a skillful diversion. And that's probably why you people will win.

It's pure GOP, Lee Atwater, Karl Rove technique. And while it is brilliant and effective, it will ultimately destroy our country.

Conservatives
The new PC police.

They are scrambling to abandon every principle they've ever had; first, they fall in love with a tax-hiking, big spending, earmark-loving Governor. Now they are quivering for anticipation at every offhand comment they can shriek offense about.

Do you want to play this game? Will republicans be considered racist every time they say 'black hole' or 'blacklist'?

you are truly pathetic people.

You're right, that's what it comes down to. They are desperate to do anything to avoid talking about issues. Look at Palin! Supporters talk about how she makes them feel--they get irritated if you even refer to anything about her record.

You liberals on this post - last time I checked Palin has an +80% approval rating in Alaska. That makes her the most popular governor in the country. Go ahead and try to attack her record. You will end up losing like you are now losing this Presidential election!

You can start calling you false messiah Barack Hussein Obama Dukakis! He is going to lose the one election you liberals thought under any circumstance you would win!

Jess: Let's imagine that you are right
and that Obama didn't mean to sound like he was calling Sarah Palin a pig. Just how does Barak expect to carry on diplomacy with the perpetually P.O.ed Islamists, if he lets offensive words slip accidently? Can you imagine if he had made that same statement about the President of Iran, say, especially if they manage to build a nuclear bomb under his nose? This is just one more example of Obama's immaturity and lack of judgement

What is worse? Pig or Macaca?

Why does using the word "macaca" disqualify Senator George Allen from running for President, and using the word "pig" does not disqualify Barak Obama? Both men claim that is was a slip. We all tried to point out that the use of the word was innocent on the part of Senator Allen, but the wild jackels on the left wouldn't let it go. Senator Allen probably didn't know it was an insult, or he wouldn't have used it, but Lefties have proven time and again that they have no tolerance, kindness and mercy over and over. Sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander.

Your talking points need to be updated; not just 'cuz they're wrong, but because they're old. Palin/McCain are going around the country talking issues, drawing contrasts, and solidifying the political middle, and you're still trash talking debunked talking points. The Palin campaign is so far ahead strategically that it is starting to get embarrassing...and it's only been a week and a half.

My advice is to start up the "world wants me" talking point again, and point to the poling in Jakarta and Istanbul. Maybe do another Eurotrash tour.

It's slip sliding away...and you know it.

"ordinary Americans"
Hugh,
Thanks for you program and especially this week with you only taking first-time female callers. It has been great to hear their reactions to Palin and the attacks made upon her. Ordinary Americans have no doubt about the message of Obama in his lipstick comments. It's is obvious as the Obama's audience showed. Only the intelligentsia or Democrats doubt Obama's intent or the statement's impact on the election. Even James Lileks, whom I love, admitted not seeing what the big deal was. Lipstickgate might be a defining moment in the campaign as it clearly shows that Obama is petty, vindictive, self-absorbed, and definitely not the harbinger of a new type of politics. Change for him just means a Democrat, big government take over of DC to accomplish more of what has made a mess of this country's economy: elitist special interests at the expense of the interests of the ordinary American.

It has been down hill for Obama ever since he went to Berlin and gave that speech.

If the Democrats lose this one - which it looks like they are going to - Zell Miller will be correct in saying in 2004 "A National Party No More!"

In 2012 red states will pick up about 7 and possibly 9 more electoral votes!

I can tell by some of the liberal posts on this blog - you guys are getting more and more desperate everyday! Obama has run a TERRIBLE campaign!

His first big mistake was delivering that speech in Berlin. Then the liberals and the media tried to say Sarah Palin was not capable of being Vice President and/or President, and the attacks back fired BIG TIME! Then Sarah Palin CRUSHED him during her speech at the RNC. She made Obama look to be a complete fool! Now Obama calls an attractive very popular governor and the most popular candidate running for either President or Vice President a "pig!"

As I have posted before - this election has gone from the one the Democrats could not lose to the one the Democrats will lose. What are you liberals going to do in 2012 when red state pick up 7-9 more electoral votes?

You can start calling your false messiah - Barack Hussein Obama Dukakis!

I think you are dead wrong here, and I am a McCain / Palin supporter.

Obama stepped in it with his poor judgement of statement, but it wasn't malicious. The commercial takes it too far by playing victim, when doing so is completely uneccessary. Furthermore, McCain would look much better to have made a quick statement about it and have returned to talking about the issues. That would have been impressive. This is childish and looks like a silly attempt to grasp at his opponent's stupidity. He would have gained from that already, more so if he had talked about the issues.

Second; every four years the Democrats want to talk about turning the federal Government into Santa, like if character and credibility did not matter.

Hugh - seriously, I'm as big a supporter of McCain / Palin as you get. The lipstick on a pig comment is an established saying, and a quick google search will turn that up in a ton of instances.

A stupid choice of words on Obama's part? Certainly. The guy is a moronic empty suit. Of course media and others would jump on that comment, and for Obama not to instictively know that and for him not remove that from his toolbox betrays his naiveté, but I can't see this as a deliberate malicious attack on Palin.

The smarter move for the McCain campaign is to let the media play that up and for them to stay out of it and quit putting out ads that play Palin as the victim.
Rich Fader writes: Wednesday, September, 10, 2008 11:51 AM

Failing that, you say, "Hey, I didn't mean it maliciously, but it was a stupid and thoughtless thing for me to say, and I apologize to Governor Palin," and you're done. Blaming your opponents and the press is weak. Very weak. The McCain campaign and the press wouldn't have it to talk about if you hadn't said it.

http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/0 9/pigs-and-lipsti.html

As for Obama's incredibly sloppy and stupid comment about lipstick, it was an incredibly sloppy and stupid comment. Was he calling Sarah Palin a pig? No, not intentionally. But he said something that his audience took as a dig on Sarah Palin. So if Obama's own supporters thought it, it is fair game for Team McCain to raise the issue.

But I agree it is a minor point and it is time to move on. There are plenty of substantive issues to challenge Barack Obama on. Perhaps Andrew will realize that he hurts Obama more than he helps with this crap. Perhaps another visit to the beach is in order?

And linking Sarah Palin with Audrey Hepburn is probably something Team McCain will welcome. Perhaps you forget how My Fair Lady turned out? Eliza Doolittle won the hearts of all the elites at the ball. http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/ 09/sarah-palins-fi.html

Only a naturally vicious person would call a woman a pig in lipstick when he needs women's votes. But if there's one thing we know about Obama's political dealings, it's that he's a no-holds-barred a** kickin' sonofab****. So the gist of the trolls here is that BO made an intentionally incendiary, juvenile remark to goad the McCain campaign into overreacting. Then, in true Pee Wee Hermanesque glee they scream "I know you are but what am I" over and over as if their guy somehow looks better in the exchange?

From the, ahem, quality, of the trolls here I can see how this would appeal to them.

Barack does not even come close to being presidential, and Michelle is not remotely close to being first lady material.

See a clip of her on the Ellen Degenerate show dancing onto the stage to rap music. That paints a nasty picture in my head of a woman who would be first lady going onto the show of a leftist loon who is pro-choice, anti-gun, anti-war, governmental controlled health care, consorting with our enemies, big business supporting, lobbiest promoting, bigoted, "lesbian" comedian. Apologies if in fact you are not an astroturfer.

Definition of astroturfing- the process whereby obama drones show up and claim to be conservatives, then spew carefully crafted noise from b.hussein's propaganda machine in an attempt to sound like real "grassroots" people. Fake grassroots, hence the term astroturfing.

We've been overrun here for the last few weeks by them, and I've apparently become a bit over-zealous in weeding them out. Believe I've caught a few, as evidenced by scott's response.

We may all wish it was not so, but the libs have made every word an offense to someone. We just have to play on their ground at this time. YOU made the rules, now live or die by them.

Excitable Andrew Returns from the Beach
Andrew Sullivan returned from the beach and called McCain a liar about the lipstick comments. Given Sully's lies about Trig's birth, Andrew Sullivan really is in no position to call anyone a liar. Especially hypocritical given how Democrats do this to Republicans and Conservatives all the time (and Team Obama does it all the time too). Now they cry foul? I am calling BS on that nonsense.

http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/0 9/pigs-and-lipsti.html

As for Obama's incredibly sloppy and stupid comment about lipstick, it was a stupid comment.

The Bill Ayers issue being the one that definitely deserves attention.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/in-a-not-re mote.html

''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.'' Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970's as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago.

Barack Obama: He's our man! No, I mean it. This cat is the best candidate the Democrats could have given us Republicans. Thank you, Democrats.

John McCain was not the favorite candidate for the base of the Republican party so we appreciate the Democrats apparently taking pity on us and sending in Barack Obama as the booby prize. In fact, Barack put the "boob" in booby prize. He certainly is, you know, good for a laugh, um, you know, anytime he opens his mouth. (BTW, I am told that if you put your ear to his mouth when he yawns, you can hear the ocean.)

(The Troubled Democrat Nominee)
Lately his campaign seems to be unraveling faster than a roll of red tape at the IRS. First, the driveling droves of drones in the Big Media have stopped lapping up every word of his cliched babble to pay attention to the Republican Convention and rising star VP nominee, Sarah Palin. And now he's been hit (h/t: Ben Smith's Blog) with McCain's campaign coyly using a play from the Democrat playbook and feigning offense at Barack's ill-timed "lipstick on a pig" comment.

This has become quite an amusing election season. I can't wait to see Obama-Biden further implode in the days to come. As Hugh has said, "If it's fair, we'll win."

Palin does not change one single thing of what the Republicans are offering which is four more years of George Bush. All that McCain did was to put lipstick on the Pig (the Bush Administration whose failed strategies have wrecked our nation). Nothing has changed except for an exciting and sexy dash of lipstick to freshen up their tired old face of more of the same.

The same people who do not like the Bush Administration for what it has done to this nation are not going to be fooled by the lipstick on the pig. And it they think that the American public are so stupid that they will rush over now and kiss their pig of a platform because it is wearing a fresh touch of lipstick, well I think they will be surprised. Economically, the majority of Americans are at the breaking point. Most American families literally cannot stand another four more years of the same.

That is exactly why we had so many Republicans giving testimony at our convention as to why they were crossing over. The message was the same: They simply could no longer afford to vote Republican. Palin does not change that message. She is more of the same.

Dems are not above racing to the bottom. It can happen; it will happen again. But in this election season, Republicans are stone guilty of playing gutter politics. They are able to draw on the power of the uneducated rabble, the lowest common denominator, the weak-willed, by avoiding facts, obfuscating the issues, throwing in the red meat ("He cawled our purty Sarah a pig!") and passing out pitchforks and torches to the masses. The whole lipstick thing aside, including whether or not it was an intentional reference to Palin, Obama's response to the whole thing is one that demonstrates his primal anger that is always lurking beneath the surface. It's patently obvious, and not a presidential quality, it's a tantrum waiting to happen every time the world fails to conform to his view. I honestly don't believe that Barry meant the lipstick on a pig remark to be a direct reference to Palin.

But in watching and listening to the crowds reaction after he said it, they sure as hell took it that way. It was simply a poor choice of words on his part given the short period of time that has elapsed since the Palin speech. Barry should have simply offered an apology to those women who most certianly were offended by his remark, and left it at that.

You can always count on the left to attribute the entire Republican rank and file as a bunch of uneducated, back-woods, rednecks who are just sheep that cannot make a serious and informed decision with someone holding thier hand in the voting booth. Further, the Dems seem to assume that just because we are also tired of politics as usual and haven't been happy with a lot of the current President's policies and decisions that we automatically would fall for the least qualified Presidental candidate of all time. We can't help it that in your fever to win the election that you chose such an empty shell to represent you. We can't help that because he was such a big hit all summer within your party that you didn't bother to think about the rest of the country nor that you wouldn't be able to sell him to people who totally disagree with you. Obama is now the albatross hanging around the necks of your party. It's not that we don't know the issues. It's that we don't agree with your man on how to fix them. You put all your bets on one man. That man picked a bad running mate. His first demonstration of poor leadership. He preaches change and then picks one of the most inset polical figures of all time. So go ahead and continue to bash us as stupid, uneducated, uninformed, whatevers. It doesn't matter. While you stand around stomping your feet and shaking your fists.....we'll be winning an election. Given his long record of alleged misquotes, one can probably expect Obama to made improper use of the word pork, monkey, dog, and shoe, while talking to Muslims, then refusing to apologize only to finally claiming, as he always does, that he was "taken out of context."

And he expect us to make him President?

Obumma!
When I first read about the "lipstick on a pig" comment, I thought it was a bit of a stretch to insist that it was an allusion to Palin. Then I saw the "finger for Hillary" video which Hugh helpfully posted, and then I heard B.O.'s "lipstick" line.

The parallel in the two situations in terms of the interplay between Obama and his audience is *unmistakable* -- Obama's dry, all-but-winking gesture or comment, and the crowd's immediate catch-on to The Mellow One's insulting import. (People pointing out McCain's previous use of the same phrase should compare crowd reactions in the varying situations.)

In this light, there's no honest way around the fact that he was taking a potshot at Sarah Palin. The only serious questions to ask are (1) Did he really mean it to be insulting, or (viewing it more charitably) was he just giving in to some "cute" wordplay? and (2) How big a deal should we make of it?

Given the vehemence and disingenuousness of his denials, I think it's fair to play this one up somewhat -- AND take this opportunity to remind Hillary's crew of his previous uncalled-for conduct.

Obummassiah: By his snipes he is not healed.

Erin bleats in response to my:
"...They are able to draw on the power of the uneducated rabble, the lowest common denominator, the weak-willed.."

"Excellent strategery, that- insult voters' intelligence. That always works. Elitist much?"

Excellent strategery... exaggerate their intelligence and pat their bellies 'til they'll follow you anywhere.

Me, elitist? Well, maybe... in that I think most people aren't really that engaged or are that actually that intelligent or paying that much attention beyond the stuff that rises out of the white noise, and these are the people who will be casting deciding votes. Unlike you, Erin, I actually would prefer someone SMARTER than the average person be in the White House. No aspersions on McCain, who I respected as a leader. (It's just that he's a Republican who sold his soul.) But your assault on "elitism" is a way of knocking smart people (Obama, Gore, Kerry) off their pedestal. For some reason, y'all find smart people so threatening. It's an easy lever to pull to make "average" people react negatively. "I want someone just like me in there!" It's why Palin is such a big hit: she's so "average"! Yeesh.

I agree that McCain/Palin
I agree that McCain/Palin shouldn't have responded with the sexism card because that is low-brow (i.e used by Democrats). A better and more biting response would have been, "We sure Sen. Obama didn't mean to call Sen. McCain an old fish and Gov. Palin a pig. We realize his only mistake was trying to be a regular guy without a teleprompter."

Checkmate.
wise woman writes: Wednesday, September, 10, 2008 6:22 PM
Deliberate, deliberate, deliberate!
Obama made three "comments" in a row, all preplanned and premeditated about three GOP leaders, Sarah, John, and Pres. George. Certainly not an accident!!

First, the pig-lipstick joke comment with a long pause for calculated audience response was a clever reference to Gov Sarah...

Second, an old joke about a stinky fish wrapped in newspaper still stinking is a less than subtle reference to "old" John McCain as being stinking-old. Of course Obama wrove in his 'change' chant into the punch line.

Third, and most telling that this whole sequence was calculated, deliberate, and cunning, Obama slamped President George Bush's past 8 years of keeping this nation safe and slimed the three "joke comments" together to present himself (OB) as the true agent of change.

I say Obama IS changing our perception of him and that is the significant change happening to the American electorate: waking up to a US Senator who is changing before our very eyes, dropping his verbose disguise, and appearing as a power hungry, calculating politician--chanting about why he is our answer to the challenges of this nation.

I am happy to see this CHANGE in the opinion of the American public.

Casual acceptance of abortion is not the change that the American public wants, contray to the illustrious lady from So. Carolina. Sarah is the real heart of American women. We love our country, our children, and want our voices to be heard this election. It is Rosie, the Riveter (sp?)in our time.

Feminists historically went left--and left the majority of caring American women on the sidelines with their harsh politics. Sarah picks up the fallen banner of balance, family values, and common sense to successfully march along side Senator McCain to lead this nation. She is an American Woman.

Wrong choice for Obama
I think right now its Obama who is exploring his "Eagleton options". He has himself to blame for disenfranchising the women voters who came out for Hillary. Many have asked: "Why didn't he choose Hillary?" For me the answer is simple:

EGO!

Ego is Obama's Achilles heel. For example, Obama can't simply go to Europe and meet quietly with the leaders of France or Germany. No, he needs to have large crowds greet his coming (most of whom are there for the free music and BEER!). He can't have his acceptance speech in a 5000 seat civic center. No he needs a football stadium complete with fake greek columns and large screen TV's on each side. If Obama chose Hillary the question will haunt him for the rest of his life. Who did they vote for more? Obama or Hillary. No ammount of polling will EVER suffice or answer that question. But instead, by NOT taking Hillary (and taking a Senator who will help him carry ZERO states) that question will never be asked.

Now it's too late. He never thought McCain would choose Palin as he saw as too inexperienced (blinded to the fact that he himself has no experience for the job). McCain also gave him a political "head fake" by suggesting Lieberman was on his short list and that the 2 of them would have a large amount of foreign policy experience. He assumed and he was wrong. Now he is stuck with "Blowhard Biden" and it's too late to make the call to Hillary. Unless he can make the case that Biden is mentally "unstable" (and there is evidence of that).

It also shows that this JUNIOR senator is TOO junior for the presidency. Choosing your running mate is your first "presidential decision" and is a glimpse into how you will be in office. If he can be out-faked on something like this (which should have been a "no brain-er") how will he handle the likes of the leaders of Iran or Russia when the stakes are even higher.

"Uh, we won the last two presidential elections- and I thought you were posing as an objective, unaligned 'intellectual'- did I misunderstand you?"

Well, I certainly wouldn't characterize myself as an intellectual, even though I'm more well-read than many of you. Whatever that makes me, however, is irrelevant. The main thing is that I remember the last two elections, and the GOP's candidate just barely won them, especially the first one, as I'm sure you remember.

Unless you followed different elections than I did.

"Anyway- the last one I didn't sweat at all, and made a lot of money off bets with my lefty friends. Lurch was a stiff. Thanks for sending up another one- except this one is even LESS qualified."

Well, I remember that one like it was yesterday, and there was a whole lotta sweatin' goin' on, especially early, when returns appeared to indicate a rout in favor of Kerry. Bush ended up getting the big electoral states he needed, but that didn't occur until relatively late in the evening.

"I shall, in much the same manner that you and your obamlytes did when he won the dnc nod. And your guy? Adding everyday to the silly season- which is what I was talking about."

Obama's not my "guy", dearie.

Bill played the *entire context* of the Obama remark, and clearly - clearly - you people have taken the remark out of context for political gain.

And if I'm not mistaken, Hugh and many of you call yourselves "Christians." And secondarily "conservatives" - who are supposed to have cool heads in order to compensate for not having warm hearts. You are neither, when you engage in this type of behavior.

O'Reilly made the distinction between Obama haters and McCain supporters. He referred to certain talk show hosts. You were clearly on his mind, Hugh, as are the mindless "Obama haters" who follow you.

His recommendation to Mrs. Palin: go public, and make clear what is clear to everyone who listened to the full context of the Obama remark: Obama was not calling you a pig, and we should move on to discuss the *issues*.. If you do this, you'll only solidify the support of independents. If you don't, you run the risk of driving independents to Obama.

O'Reilly: "If you truly think Obama is stupid, you're stupid." Amin.

Hey Hugh, you're one of two things: 1) a moron; or (as I suspect) 2) a cyber-demagogue. You excite the emotions of the "base" in hopes of ensuring a Mequeno victory. But you'd be more moral, more Christian, if you were simply a moron.

More like a life raft
The whining of the McCain camp looks childish. One of the most appealing things about Sarah Palin is her ability to warm-heartedly dismiss vicious and relentless attacks against her with a smile and a clever turn of phrase. The pompous indignation in the ad is a big turn-off. I'm glad they cancelled it--too bad it was a few hours too late.

Cicero's Ranting
Becoming "very successful" has no more negative connotation than profit does. I suspect that it is not in your being to be successful because you are too filled with vitriol which will always be an obstacle to being successful. Your attack on Hugh is completely without merit and just plain mean. He is a fine and accomplished man, lives his faith, and does more than talk about helping his fellow human beings.

I think the whole lipstick thing is much ado about nothing. Obama is an empty suit and is nothing more than a 60s type radical. If the liberal ideology were something that most of America would embrace they wouldn’t have to go to the trouble of hiding their true beliefs. Alas, most of America is right of center. Once Obama’s true lack of accomplishment and character is revealed McGovern’s loss in ’72 will pale by comparison.

Ah yes, one more sterling example of the heights to which this comments box aspires.

But if you're going to call me names, arch, at least get it right: it should be "tradtard" or "truecontard" or "paleotard". Something like that.

By the way, law professors, like all academics, are capable of spewing the worst kinds of ideologically-driven, fact-deprived claptrap. Think, for instance, of all the anti-Second Amendment "scholarship" generated by the legal academy within the last several decades - happily ignored by the 5 justices in the Heller decision. Think of all the claptrap you regularly hear on Hugh's show from the very accomplised scholar Irwin Chemerinsky. If that "smart guy" can be so dumb, so can any so-called "smart guy", Hugh included. I have enough of an academic background myself to know that academes can make total fools of themselves.

As Hugh has done here.

Funny he can't find any other "real" conservatives to play with.

He is stuck in his own little utopia of 45 years ago and can't move past it, so he is determined to inflict himself on as many people as possible in order to punish them for his own shortcomings.

Always nice to see you Cicero....
