Perry and Romney: It's All About the Hair

Last night, I predicted some big endorsements would be coming, and they did. Scoring Texas Governor Rick Perry's endorsement is a pretty big deal for Rudy Giuliani's campaign. Perry is, at least, perceived as being conservative, so this helps Rudy innoculate himself against social conservative attacks.
As I reported a month ago, Rudy has been wooing Perry for quite some time.
I am also hearing that some social conservative leaders are now upset with Perry, and are now talking about retribution. Time will tell if this is just talk.
Why would Perry endorse Rudy? Obvious speculation is that it puts him on the short list of running mates. In fact, Perry will accompany Rudy to Iowa today, following Rudy's presentation at the Club for Growth. If this doesn't further fuel speculation that he is a possible VP pick, I'm not sure what else would.
Another interesting side story here is the fact that Perry and Romney aren't close. Some have speculated that this is due to the fact that while Romney was the head of the Republican Governor's Association (RGA), their media consultant also worked for Perry foe Carolyn Keeton Strayhorn (who was running against Perry at the time).
Personally, I think the reason may be that two dudes -- who both pay that much attention to their hair -- could never be on the same side ...

...you put the dumbest things in your blog. You must really be having a hard time finding anything intelligent to say.
Maybe it's time for you to take a really long vacation.

I guess the fellows who constantly talk about Romney's hair are going bald or something? That's the only explanation I can figure for the obsessive commenting on hair this campaign.

Texas.
His effort to force young girls to have a HPV vaccine last year earned him a lot of ire in Conservative circles.
No real Conservatives are going to support Rudy.
Rudy's supporters come from the Island of Misfit Republicans. |

Matt...........Texans are not rejoicing in the conservative values of Governor Perry. Actually, you can google "Impeach Rick Perry" to find a grass roots movement for impeachment. Him and Rudy Guiliani are the 21st century carpet baggers working with Cintra, the Spainish Consortium to develop(Against the peoples will)the Nafta Super Highway that will seize thousands of acres of private farms and property. Perry even vetoed a State Bill to fight iminant domain against them! His love affair with Merke Pharmacueticals pushed a mandated vaccination through against the citizen's wishes as well! Texans would like to see both Guliani and Perry out of their lives based on the impeachment movement. But, the GOP loves their Globalist Tyrants marching to the sound of Big Bucks! |

Eichendorff is right---Matt needs a vacation...a really long vacation. But more importantly, we Townhall readers need Matt to take a real-l-l-y long vacation. Seriously.
It's ironic that Matt constantly mocks Romney for his debonair appearance, because Matt's own stylish haircut, slick sportcoats, and extra starch on his shirt collars...makes Ryan Seacrest of "American Idol" look like Pigpen from the Peanuts gang ! |

"Today I’m endorsing Rudy Giuliani for the presidency of the United States because he’s got a record, a strong record of leadership. He’s got the right vision for a nation at war. He’s got clarity of purpose I think that’s unequaled by any candidate in this race. Rudy Giuliani is a leader who has a proven record of leadership. He gets things done. He is a results-oriented leader.... "I believe that without a doubt or reservation that Rudy Giuliani is the most capable, the most prepared individual of either party to be the next President of the United States. He is the best of a strong field of Republican candidates and I’m proud to proclaim my support of his campaign. So I am proud to introduce to you America’s Mayor, a proven fiscal conservative, a leader who gets things done and the best hope of our nation’s future."
