for Hewitt to all of the sudden to be concerned about oaths. I don't recall such concern when Bush and Cheney appeared before the Senate over 9/11, but then again, those two are "Rs". Come to think of it, I don't think Rice was either.
There should be consistency on this. It doesn't matter what political party a person belongs to. If required to give testimony a person should be placed under oath and party be damned. |

It's generally uncommon for an investigator to swear in a witness. Perhaps, Hugh, you are thinking of grand jury testimony? Besides, it doesn't matter if Obama was under oath, lying to investigators is still a crime.
And, man, are we running over some tired ground already; Obama didn't report that he had been interviewed because Fitzgerald asked him to delay the report. And "what happened to transparency?" You are looking at it.
And as far as timing, probably Fitzgerald already knew that Emanuel was most likely to have contact with Blagojavich (rather than Obama.) So, like any good investigator, Fitzgerald gets all the background done before talking to Emanuel. |

I is fascinating to observe the Obama folks working overtime to scrape the feces of "Chicago Style" politics off their boots now. We are somehow to accept the notion that all the governors, senators, congressmen, aldermen, city and county officials, and even dog catchers are on the take yet Mr. Obama has somehow remained as pure as the driven snow during his tenure in the cesspool. Perhaps he walked on top of it. And perhaps Jesse Jackson Sr and Jr aren't extortionists of the first water. The "rat a tat tat" sound you hear is the President Elect's handlers trying to tap dance their way out of this one too. We are so stupid sometimes.

The Justice Department asked Obama to delay the report to give them time to review it.
Poor Hugh, he can't come up with a single reason that Obama or Rahm would want to "sell" his Senate seat, given he has $30 million left over in this campaign funds and no debts. So, he keeps trying to pretend that Obama and Emanuel would get involved in some scheme to put money in the pocket of the Governor for what? To get a Democratic Senator which he was going to get anyway?
Hugh's taken flight of his senses. He can't come up with a single reason that Obama and Rahm would participate in such a scheme, yet he keeps flogging what has already become a dead horse. |

Pay-rod to rahm-rod the sale of the senate seat?
I crack me up. |
