Sounds like a major gaffe to me. At a San Francisco fundraiser, Barack Obama said the following:

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. . . . It's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Obviously, such comments defy analysis -- and belief, for that matter.

There's just one big question: Are the Democrats getting ready to nominate a man who understands the people of small town Indonesia (and Kenya) better than he does those of small town America -- and likes and respects them more, too?

Newsflash: Most of America is made up of small towns. Is this really what Barack thinks of the people he wants to lead?

In point of fact, the ignorant, unemployed bigots Barack is describing bear no resemblance to the small town Americans I know -- they are people who love their God, their family, their neighbors and their country. They are wonderful, decent people. (And what's that about "cling[ing]" to religion, anyway?)

Finally, note also Barack's comment "Obama's gonna give tax breaks to middle-class folks and we're gonna provide health care for every American. So we'll go down a series of talking points." So much for the new politics of hope and idealism.

That Lindsay Grahamnesty told The National Council of The Race he was going to shut up bear no resemblance to the American citizens who do not want to abandon the rule of law by giving amnesty to foreign nationals illegally in our country. John McCain still has Juan Hernandez and his "Mexico First" agenda on his campaign. He will not say what comes after "Secure the border first". We all know that he means amnesty next. No Enforcement/No Votes

I didn't know Obama said this in San Francisco. So, he made an elitest remark in a place that is probably considered the most elitest city in America. Hooo--boy. He's going to have do pretty fast footwork to get past this one.
