Rock Star Ron
Posted by: Jonathan Garthwaite at 12:45 PM
Ron's people absolutely love him.  Ron gave his typical get-out-of-the-UN-and-Iraq-and-protect-the-unborn-and-reduce-the-size-of-government speech and his supporters have gone crazy.   He brought his whole family on stage and he took his time soaking in the cheering and clapping from his fans.  The roar of the crowd even brought him back across the stage for a curtain call.

He's dominating this straw poll.  His scrappy grassroots team is out in force.  Some of us media types were speculating that the Ron Paul supporters could get frozen out of the voting because of the narrow qualifying rules.  Apparently that wasn't a problem.

At this point in the morning, the expectations are high for Raul Paul.   Some of his folks are expecting to get 75% of the vote.   Wow, now that's setting high expectations.   We'll see when the votes get tallied around 3:30 Eastern.

Pro war party picks another winner
Linda Hunnicut, a Granny Warrior who was there said:
Ron Paul people from San Antonio had registered online and gotten a receipt saying registration started at 10 AM. The busload was there but the registrars grabbed their paper work and left the tables at exactly 10 AM saying the registration ENDED at 10. They refused to allow that busload of folks into the voting area. YET... just a few moments later another group showed up that were not Paul supporters and were ushered in by the back door. Yes that was documented and photographed. Only non Ron Paul people were allowed in because it did appear that they were going to dominate the poll.

Not knocking Duncan, who speaks well and shows a strong presence onstage, but in my opinion (not Linda's) it was a set up to elect a pro-war CFR member candidate only.

Ron Paul and Republican Victory
It's pretty simple for the GOP,if they nominate Ron Paul, they can win.If they do not nominate Ron Paul, they (the GOP) will LOSE.I'm the swing voter and im registered republican to vote for Ron Paul or neither of the 2 old parties. The ball is in the GOP COURT,if you choose to ignore Ron Paul and his message, then you will choose to lose the next election, plain and simple logic;) Ron Paul for the GOP or nothing.

Bus load of RonPaul delegates...
From: http://trailblazers.beloblog.com/
"Well, that's one Paul vote--but are others shut out?

Gromer Jeffers reports that Ron Paul probably won't be shut out. He's a Texan and a past convention delegate, so he just voted in the straw poll.

But the congressman said a bus-ful of his supporters was a little late and was denied entry to the straw poll. "People weren't allowed to be able to vote?" Mr. Paul exclaimed. "That doesn't sound fair."

GOP officials set a hard and fast rule, though, that if you weren't inside by 10 a.m. to pick up your credentials, too bad. We even had to pull some strings (translation: sweet talk the PR folks) to get our photographer in."

75% of the vote?
HA! That's funny... These people have way too much faith. I expect he'll get a moderate-sized chunk, say 10%-15%, but that's about it.

GO HUNTER!

I guess disregard my comment; I can't figure out how this site works exactly.

weird
um... why is the rest of this article hidden from the front page? I mean the part where you attempt marginalize Ron Paul supporters, say they have "no shame" and are ruining Texas politics.
