Discussing the Impact of Franken Senate Victory
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 2:08 PM
I was on CBN News today, discussing the ramifications of Al Franken's victory.

Not a good argument
Matt's argument sounds more like a lame threat than anything of substance. The fact is the Democratic majority and the President will be blamed regardless of what happens because of the nature of the government. While the Republicans have repeatedly tried to cast off blame for their policies over the last 8 years as bipartisan, the truth is the majority dictates the policies and good or bad, the majority must take the lumps.

The double standard in Matt's rhetoric notwithstanding, the finer point is that Harry Reid no longer can fall back on the timeworn excuse that he doesn't have the votes to muscle through legislation. He did before Franken, but now it is obvious to all of us that the blame for NOT getting anything done will fall on Reid and his Senate majority.

The stalemate in Minnesota has finally been broken, and just in time for Franken to affect change in the climate in DC. I'm betting Franken will be figuring on a one-term Senate seat, choosing to cast off the swing state timidity so many Dems have, and help President Obama ram through policies to ensure great changes are put in place by the end of four years.
Don't Tread On Me writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 2:41 PM
But kayann
Dems don't know what to DO without excuses to fall back on!

If Democrats and liberals cannot BLAME, that means they HAVE TO ACCEPT responsibility, and this is something that liberals just CANNOT do.

They CANNOT take responsibility for all the new debt they've given us, all the new government bureaucracies, the sham-o-riffic "Clean air" energy bill they're trying to get passed (without real provisions for nuclear power or a tax imposed on foreign oil), the absurd Obamacare plan that does not include tort reform or reduction of costs for people currently insured or a simple plan to put the currently insured on Medicaid.

Get real. All you liberals know how to do is be victims and get the victim-mentality clingers to vote for you.

What Impact Of Franken In Senate
I imagine an increase in the useage of air freshener in the senate will be the first thing noticed.

Do you know what it means to "project", DTOM? To project one's truth onto another. That is what you do here every single day. If you can't own your Party's ineptitude and inability to accept their blame for the worst 8 years in our country's economic and foreign policy history, then please just stay quiet and deal with your political dementia so you don't embarrass yourself.
Don't Tread On Me writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 3:04 PM
kayann: Hahahahaha!
THAT's your retort?
You are SO pathetic!

The adults around here are putting out facts and debating you, (and kicking your butt)and all you have to come back with is weak ad hominem attacks and more Bush derangement syndrome?!?!

You should spend less time here and more time reading the WSJ and watching FoxNews. Go get an honest job while you're at it. Maybe you would actually KNOW about real facts and events; not that Obama fantasy milieu you like to loiter in.
Retired Lady writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 3:06 PM
KayAnn you defy credulity!
The current admin and the democrat Congress will earn that blame! They have saddled this nation with generational debt, the porkulus that was going to stem the tide is a failed spending bill! The cap-and-trade monstrosity will increase your taxes, dearie, as well as mine! And now Dumbo & Co. want to "fix" health care! It boggles the mind that anyone just barely sentient considers this fool an asset for the country!
kayann writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 3:10 PM
DTOM
Honestly - and you wonder why you've lost the majority for the next several decades!

kayann writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 3:15 PM
retired lady
First of all, that debt you are talking about was incurred by Bush. President Obama's contribution to that debt is miniscule by comparison. It would help, retired lady, if in your spare time you actually research your claims.

Second of all, look up the "credulity". I'm guessing you meant "credibility"? Until you understand just how much of the current debt we are now drowning in is from the Obama administration, it is YOU who defies credibility.
Don't Tread On Me writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 3:19 PM

The GOP lost the majority because they started acting and spending like Democrats.

Now that Democrats are outspending THEMSELVES, it should be only a few years before the adults are put in charge again.
Retired Lady writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 3:27 PM
No sweetie-pie, I meant credulity,
you need to consult your dictionary again. Obviously your ability to ascertain fact from fiction is on par with Dumbo's "transparent" govt.!

DTOM, hopefully the adults will begin that process of redress in 2010!

kayann do you think Al Franken will "debate" in his diaper a la SNL?

Bob Munck and kayann suffer from lack of a solid education in English. BM is some sort of self-professed math or computer genius, so of COURSE he knows ALL ABOUT the English language, (sarcasm!) and "kayann", well- she's retarded.

Whenever these two try to correct people in the use of English words and grammar, they wind up looking ignorant. Maybe they'll stop someday.
(probably not)
SJA writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 3:39 PM

Lets see Bush left a debt of about 440,000 billion. The Obama non working stimulus is almost 800,000 billion. Tarp is in the process of being paid back by many and only half of Tarp was doled out during Bush. By the way most would like the money that is being paid back be used to pay down debt but your fealess leader wants none of that. Now healthcare estimated at at least a trillion and oh I believe the Obama budget for next year is a real whopper. Now please tell me how all the debt is Bush's fault again.

raffaella is kayann's "sock puppet".
Just saying.

"Credulity" is correct, kayann and "rafaella" is the saddest puppet show out there on the web, and liberals don't need good English skills 'cause you don't need a command of English to draw Bush with a swastika on his head!

KayAnn the Den spendthrifts now N power
make Bushs spending look like he was a cheap-skate, tightwad, ha!. The irresponsible Prez., is spending our taxes and borrowed money like there is no tomorrow. Franken and slow Joe, along with the three stooges Nancy, Harry and Barney are a five ring circus, along with Ring'Master Mighty Mouth Obama! Ouch, we're in big trouble, ha! Not much to brag about these days. Well, the seduced Lib empty'heads get the Government they deserve but those with astute, independent, aware minds deserve an America we can be proud of. Not the bucket of worms developing now with this Presidency and the far left 'one sided' Congress! Ex Democrat

Whining Republicans
You had 8 years to fix all those mistakes you claim the Clinton Administration made. Rather than doing that, you made things far worse. And now that your mistakes have come back to bite you in the butt, all you do is criticize. You have nothing to offer other then the same old nonsense. Small wonder the country has sent your party packing. Move away from your far-right policies and their proponents and it's possible that your party might resurrect itself. Otherwise, those 60 Senate seats are going to look like small potato's in 2010. But hey, make fun, ignore me, continue down the path you've taken and watch America become a one party system. You have nothing to fear but stupidity itself.
miss vicky writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 6:26 PM
Thomas, the Wizard of Oz Prez has built
Americans up for a big letdown. The snake oil salesman Obamas promised 'pie in the sky' is crumbling! You probably won't get it until the Rep.,Party has to rescue all who come up empty handed? While Bush was so wrong, so often he did keep us safe for eight years etc,. What credit will the big spending (give away the store) Santa'Obama get, after our recession turns into a depression, the way it's going? Oh I know, it's all Bushs fault, Ha! Ex Democrat

Franken's Stolen election will help BO
with this:

Taxpayer money to pay for HAMAS refugees to come to America. Where will this %^&*(%^&*($%^&*$% man stop??

H. R. 1388 PASSED Sunday, June 28, 2009, 11:35 PM

Whether you are an Obama fan, or not, EVERYONE IN THE U. S. needs to know... Something happened... H. R. 1388 was passed yesterday, behind our backs. You may want to read about it. It wasn't mentioned on the news.. just went by on the ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN screen.

Obama funds $20M in tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA . This is the news that didn't make the headlines...

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza .

The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States , was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4.

Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement(Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

Let's review... itemized list of some of Barack Obama's most recent actions since his inauguration:
His first call to any head of state, as president, was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

RonnaRonna writes: Wednesday, July, 01, 2009 6:40 PM
HAMAS in America on YOUR dime?
Part 2

His first one-on-one television interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.

His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just here within the U. S. , but within the world, using U. S. tax payer funds.

He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.

He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and the "terror attack" on 9/11.

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer expense.

These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the blinding bail-outs and "stimulation" packages.

Doubtful? To verify this for yourself:

Whining Republicans
Miss Vicky,

You're reply was as expected. Obviously, you would rather whine than face facts. You seem to be a perfect example of why your party is rapidly declining in popularity. Those who refuse to listen are destined to live with the consequences. Enjoy your obscurity.

rafaella, please dear, follow the
advice I gave to kayann and the dictionary.

As usual the drooling drones have once again failed to grasp that Dumbo is the President and HE owns this mess along with his cronies in the Congress. HE and these people are responsible for higher energy costs which will be reflected in EVERYTHING! Maybe some of the drooling drones will understand when their utility bills are due.

$20 million for "hundreds of thousands?" That's about $100 each. How does anyone manage to migrate and resettle in the US for $100? I'd think it would cost at least $300, what with the airfare and all.
