Just filed a story about Obama's presser from South Dakota to answer questions about his decision to resign from TUCC. Will link when it's up. Here's some of Obama's key quotations I transcribed from the conference. - “We don’t want to have to answer for everything that’s stated in that church." -“I did not anticipate my fairly conventional Christian faith being subject to such challenge and such scrutiny." - Obama's quitting the church, but not denouncing it. “It’s not a church worthy of denouncing,” he said. Obama said his critics “they’ve seen caricatures of the church and accept those caricatures despite my insistence that’s not what the church is about and there’s not much I can do about it."

“It’s not a church worthy of denouncing,” he said. Obama said his critics “they’ve seen caricatures of the church and accept those caricatures despite my insistence that’s not what the church is about and there’s not much I can do about it."
So he actually still agrees with the retoric taught at that racist, hateful place, but he's just tired of the scrutiny? Sounds like a pretty weak excuse for quitting.
This problem will not go away for him just for quitting. |

|
But if there's nothing wrong with the church, why is he leaving it? |
|
superdelegates who still had doubts about Obama and his ties to TUCC, he had to distance himself from the church. He has now done that and can use that as a way to try to get supers to his side.
Nothing more than political posturing and we would have to be fools to not see it for what it is. |
|
Why would Obama be worried about the superdelegates at this point? It's over already. Hillary's not getting the nomination unless Obama has a Bobby Kennedy moment, as Hillary has been holding out for.
This move right now is puzzling. It makes him look weak and frankly, stupid. |
|
It's our fault, stupid (sarcasm).
He said that the pastor and the congregants were getting hassled too much by reporters. At one point, he said something like shut-ins and hospitalized people were getting contacted. Do you believe that? He seems to embellish his stories.
Anyway, I want to know why in the heck he was directing tax dollars to Pfleger-run programs. Pfleger can raise as much money under a tax-exempt umbrella as he wishes. But taxpayers shouldn't be required to underwrite his programs to satisfy Obama's political debts. I'm sure there are many worthier organizations that don't spew such racist nonsense.
By the way, do we know Obama's position on slave reparations?

1. He was for marriage being defined as one man and one woman, before he was against it. 2.He was for 'uncle Wright' before he was against him. 3. He was against the lapelle pin before he was for it. 4. He was against admitting his adviser spoke to Canada about NAFTA before he admitted that his advisor had done so. 5. He was a muslim, before he wasn't - he was born one, disavowed them, became atheist, then met Rev. Wright the loving man of God who spoke to his soul and now - glory halleluya - he is a christian muslim with lots of black panther ideas. 6. He was for typical white people (when he was raised by them) before he wasn't (when he needed to be down with the brothers and appeal to ALL races as a UNITING force of good). 7. He was for Farakhan when he marched in the million man march, before he wasn't when Hillary challenged him to rejected Farakhan's endorsement. He still refers to him as 'minister Farakhan'. God bless these insane ministers. 8. He was for Trinity Church Membership, before he was against it.

if and when the polls indicate that americans were smart enough to wonder why he left a church whose beliefs were not worthy of denouncing. This man is a complete looney tune. I think he still smokes something...and it must be strong. He never caught his mistake about saying 57 states, just like he explained the lapelle pin, to which he referred to as 'false patriotism' just happened to be on the suit he picked to wear for the next two weeks. Does he not know americans think he is getting dumber by the day? |

.... I think we all know what Mr. Obama is all about. Now we can start digging around in Mr. McCain's sandbox.... there is plenty of rot there, too. I will not vote for EITHER of them. |
|
|
If Obama has such a great ability to bring prople together, then why did he not do so at TUCC? Oops, maybe he did. |

One doesn't resign from a church. One quits, walks away, stops going. One doesn't call a press conference to announce that he is resigning from said church. And some people want this done nothing person to be POTUS. How pathetic is that!? |
