The Second Front: McCain-Palin v. Obama-Biden and the MSM
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 9:21 AM
The outrageous and frequently sexist attacks and sneers directed at Sarah Palin by many in the MSM have opened a second front in Campaign 2008.  Although the Beltway-Manhattan media elite have long been pulling for Obama, the naked partisanship and transparent attacks on Governor Palin have fueled a pro-Palin surge that will continue for some weeks.

"I think is that millions of Americans are simply tired of being lectured at by smug elites," wrote Victor Davis Hanson.  "If she can beat off the frothing Newsweek/MSNBC/New York Times inbred rabid wolves, and do it with the grace she has shown so far, she will fill a deep yearning among Americans for someone like her."  (HT: RobinsonandLong.com).

Political and media elites are a pretty arrogant bunch, especially when running in packs as they do at conventions where their connections with normal people are all but severed.  Ten hours in the convention confines means a few hundred conversations with people who are addicted to snark, and who are very ready to (1)demean conservatives, (2)mock rural or small town people, and (3)discount any possibility of intellectual heft that isn't backed up by a long list of publications, degrees or a giant bank account.  The worst offenders in the media elite are also fully enrolled in the cult of Obama, unwilling to even notice that yesterday he compared his campaign-management credentials favorably to Sarah Palin's varied experiences but omitted noticing her time supervising a15,000-strong workforce and an $11 billion dollar budget.  He's cocooned, and so are his media shock troops.  The MSM echo chamber isn't letting him know that he is sounding very small and defensive, because they don't know that they are sounding as off-puttingly arrogant as they ever have.

Millions of Americans are deeply ticked off at the assault on Sarah Palin launched by people who have never done anything but talked for a living and who wouldn't know how to turn on a snowmobile, a jet ski or an RV to save their lives, much less how to negotiate an oil lease.  Millions of Americans who have never received a government check are shocked at the dismissiveness of Palin's background especially in contrast to the worship of the government-backed lifetime careers of Obama and Biden.  And millions of American women are especially outraged that the feminist elite in the broadcast booths and newsrooms have joined the blogger mob in peddling smears about a wonderful mother and wife who also happens to have been an extremely successful professional in a variety of settings.  Why, they wonder, has Obama gotten a year-long pass on his entire life including Ayers, the Annenberg Challenge, Rezko and Wright while Palin is put on the big media rack on made-up charges?  Because she's a woman?

Fred Thompson gave some voice to this anger last night, but hardly enough.  More will be on display at the podium today, but it is already widely felt and deeply motivating, and not just among conservatives.

The MSM and the Obama camp --real, one and the same-- have telegraphed women of all ages and backgrounds that the feminist movement is really only for a very small number of women who pursue careers in media and Democratic politics.

The MSM and the Obama camp have clearly communicated their contempt not just for rural and small town America, but for every part of the country that isn't a major coastal city.

And the MSM and the Obama camp have communicated their indifference to every family that has ever struggled to overcome a difficulty:  If it is to their advatange to exploit your pain rather than feel it, count on being cut deeper.

Millions of Americans, to quote Hanson again, "are eager to see a rare politican who is unapologetic about America's past achievements (cf. Obama's "tragic history" and need for more "oppression studies"), and who reminds us with pride that a muscular world of action, not community organizing, creates the bounty that others use and take for granted but so often sneer at the methods of its acquisition."

"Right now," Hanson concludes, "there are millions rooting for her in a way not true of Biden—and many who are criticizing her don't have a clue why that it is so."

Expect two more days of dismissiveness of Sarah Palin by the ancors and anchorettes of modest intellectual reach and the moonbats with mics.  It doesn't matter.  McCain and Palin went over to the offensive on Friday, and though the echo chamber doesn't have a clue, they are winning.

UPDATE:  I have been publishing only e-mails from women, but this is from Seve, an ex-pat in Spain.  I don't know if he is a dad, but I suspect that many men who are fathers or who may be some day are outraged at the treatment of Sarah Palin and her family by the MSM, wondering what it portends for their daughters if they ever get on the wrong side of the media elite destruction machine:
My meager vocabulary does not permit me to adequately express my level of rage and disgust at the actions of the majority of the media and much of the left since the Palin announcement Friday. While I understand that National politics is a contact sport the levels to which the discourse has sunk has shocked me. Using a 17 year old girl and her boyfriend as political footballs is only exceeded in depravity by the absurd and offensively defensive attempts to justify doing so.

The only bright spot in all of this is the knowledge that millions of people will be every bit as offended as I am. The outrage from Bill Bennett on CNN and Bill Kristol on Fox were examples of what I believe most people feel, hopefully independent of political affiliation.

I have sent contributions to McCain and a range of candidates for Senate and Congress promoted by your show and Club for Growth over the last several months. I would appreciate your recommendation(s) as to where we can most effectively contribute now that the public finance window is closing. I had not intended to donate further but I can not permit people that have shown this level of depravity, dishonesty and complete lack of acceptable objectivity to win through their truly disgusting efforts.

I rarely get angry as I generally view anger as counter productive. I am angry in a way that is not going to go away. I will neither forgive nor forget the despicable treatment I have witnessed from various pundits, media personalities and media companies.

Whiners
Man, Republicans are such whiners.

Whenever anything negative comes out about one of their heroes, the whining about "the liberal MSM" starts.

Face it, Sarah Palin has some baggage. She doesn't have much experience, she did throw her weight around in unethical (and in one case possibly illegal) ways, she did laugh at the sexist and insensitive name-calling of a cancer survivor, and she did choose to announce to the world that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant.

The MSM is doing their job, and in fact, is doing the job of vetting Sarah Palin that John McCain failed to do.

You folks can sure dish it out, but when it comes back to you you squeal like a pig.

I still find it more than
comical that Obama is comparing himself to the BOTTOM of the GOP ticket. He KNOWS he doesn't have what it takes to make the TOP or BOTTOM of the ticket, but to be comparing his record to that of a VP pick leaves me rolling on the floor with laughter.

For all of Obama's bloviating giving Hillary credit for putting 18 million cracks in that glass ceiling, he sure is afraid that glass ceiling WILL fall.

No Hugh -we're in a pickle
There's no evidence McCain and Palin are winning or that they are on offense. We are obviously on defense when we didn't need to be. We don't know how the Hillary voters are going to view Palin, the reason she's on the ticket. So far, McCain has dropped in the polls since Friday.

Hugh, stop the wonderful wife and mother BS. She puts her career over her family every time. Her political ambitions are first. She is number one in that family.

Let's have the political courage to call it as it is. We wouldn't need to fabricate a perfect family life if her other qualifications were solid.
Ana Mus writes: Wednesday, September, 03, 2008 10:08 AM
fbear, you might think Gov Palin
comes with baggage, however, any baggage she might have PALES in comparison to the anti-American, radical loving, hate mongering baggage Obama comes with.

Why is Obama afraid of a woman? Why is Obama comparing himself to the bottom of the ticket?

Remember Fitzgerald isn't through with the corruption in Chicago.

Libs in massive panick
They are saying Palin put her career in front of her family? Wow... that's news to Todd Palin and the kids.

Did Obama put his career in front of his family? How about Hillary or Pelosi or Boxer?

The left knows Palin is the knockout punch to the man child socialist Obama.

The Dems are going to lose again and they see it coming. So what do they do? Attack, smear, riot, get arrested, lie.

Speech tonight is HUGE - game Over libs
If Palin gives the speech we all know she is going to give, this election is over. The left knows this and they are terrified to the point of hysteria today.

The question is this. Will Palin talk about the MSM attacks on her family or will she ignore it? I have a feeling she is going to take the attacks about her family head on and in the process become the darling of America that she already has become.

Libs... why do you hate her so much? We know why.. and it tells us all we need to know about your losers.

The next few weeks are just talk
The issue of Palin vs. Biden will be settled during their upcoming debate. Biden is no pushover, but many of us believe Palin isn't a pushover either ... this one will be very interesting, and probably will be the most-watched veep debate in history.

Ditto when it comes to McCain vs. Obama - that contest too will be settled by their two debates.

McCain is almost certainly going to cream Obama in the debates. If Sarah has taken out Biden too, then the race will be effectively over.

That's how it always is in these elections ... the conventions are just for the preachers to preach to the respective choirs of both parties, and to give the flapping jaws in the media a reason to get paid for flapping their jaws.

The speech by Sarah Palin tonight will be interesting, and probably will be well-delivered and well received by the Republicans in the hall and those of us watching on TV throughout the nation. But the Palin speech, as the McCain speech tomorrow night, will not be decisive.

Polls will be meaningless until after all three debates are completed. The debates will be 75% of the decision, and after that it will get down to a combination of the respective get out the vote efforts, plus any Saturday night surprises that the Dems try to pull off the weekend before the vote.

Long way to go. All the rest before the debates is just jaw-flapping.

They don't know whether to try to force her off the field out of a sense of patriotic duty or keep her around as a punching bag because she hurts McCain overall.

Obama is too arrogant to far gone with the flattery to understand let alone get a hint of the tidal wave sweeping over his Campaign.

The Race Card is next and will be the only one played until the Election. Dave Axelrod seems to be in constant communication with Billy Ayers and the Race Card is the only avenue that Axelrod seems to win at - Race/Class war is going to be threatend.

The Media will play along as they always do - there is too much money invested in Obama toomany magazines at stake. Too many Woods Funds and other radical money laundering operqations.

McCain has them on the ropes. Local Democrats are talking - to their neighbors - never to the media.

The Hyde Park Mafia is worried.

All those Media wheezers with their panties in a twist over the Vetting Process might - might mind you which means it will not happen - want to thumb back a few pages and re-visit the Rantings of the Man Who Baptized Obama - Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Joe Lieberman gave a great pitch to my fellow Democrats. Vote Country - Vote McCain/Palin!

Obama - Liar or Fool, or Both
If Obama says he is "managing" his campaign he is either and liar or a fool (or both). He is the candidate not the campaign manager.

A candidate that acts as his own campaign manager is a fool. Obama has handlers. They are managing. He is the brand and his job is to read what they put on the teleprompter, no more, no less.

His first question after the election, whether he wins or loses, will be "what do I do now?". Unfortunately, the teleprompter won't work for him them.

Obama was in trouble with his moronic pick of Biden, his lead was shrinking to nothing, his socialism and Marxism was becoming obvious, his wife Michelle hates the country and Rev Wright was still fresh in our minds.

A dose of reality...
I doubt that the Governor Palin selection will help Senator McCain with Senator Clinton supporters. They were supporting Senator Clinton because she is a liberal woman, not solely because she was a woman. In fact, it may drive many of them to vote for Obama because they are angry that those nasty Republicans are stealing their history. Camille Paglia has already expressed a similar sentiment. The Governor Palin pick has energized conservatives like nothing since Ronald Reagan. How Governor Palin connects with independents is yet to be seen. Most don't know anything about her. She needs to win over independents starting tonight. We will soon find out...

If McCain's health thrust Palin into the top slot on day 1 she would only be a bit more prepared than is Obama. If the timing were pushed back by a year then she'd be much more ready.

Its good news that this is the top legitimate issue for Palin, and inexperience is a great topic for this election.

On another topic, is it true that neither McCain nor Palin is a lawyer? I know Obama and Biden are lawyers... do we need more lawyers running DC?

Memo to the Left: You have lost
A liberal blogger notes the hypocrisy of these attacks on Palin:

We surrendered something a whole lot more valuable than our vote. We surrendered our principles. We surrendered our core values.
We surrendered all hope. We surrendered our shared dreams that our daughters would inherit a better world, a world of promise, equality, justice, fairness and honor.
We had dreamed of a world where our 17 years old daughters wouldn't be striped naked and raped on the front page of the New York Times, above the fold.
We dreamed of a world where a candidate, man or woman, could run for the highest office in the land and not be "swiftboated" with sexual lies and slander so vicious, so cruel, so gross and destructive that they actually wither our very soul.
I actually believed we were better than that. I actually believed "swiftboating" was the sole property of Republicans. I actually believed we wanted to debate the issues. I actually believed we wanted the real change so eloquently promised by Senator Barack Obama. I actually believed we wanted a better world for our sons and our daughters.
So I thought the extremely bizarre story, so obvious a blatant lie, that somehow appeared in The Daily Kos, claiming Governor Sarah Palin had somehow faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her wayward teenage daughter would be laughed off and quickly vanish form the Kos pages like the trash it was. It was a joke, A sad, sick joke.
But instead of the aborted fetus it should have been, it was born full grown into the waiting arms of liberal bloggers and journalists, who quickly passed out cigars and congratulated themselves as proud mamas and papas. All this in spite of the fact that absolutely everyone knew the story was an absolute lie.
The only thing we aborted was the truth.

Summary of Election 2008 media coverage
1) What once was a liberal leaning press gave up any and all semblence of objectivity this year. This year marks the final nail in the coffin of the MSM's claim to professional journalistic behavior. It died this year. If Howard Kurtz cannot see this, it shows you how pervasive it has become. Just look at the interview Tom Brokaw just did with Rudy Guliani. It was unadulturated pure advocacy journalism. His defense of Obama's lack of experience was that he was very popular in the campaign and accepted by the Democrat party. Obama was vetted by the campaign itself. The Obama talking points delivers by Brokaw. Never has a media been so explicitly for a candidate. The Bush-Kerry election was obviously badly one-sided in its coverage, but this year the MSM reached the stratosphere of journalistic malfeasance.
2) Can anyone who is over 30 remember any time in their lifetime where such a green politician (as Obama undoubtedly is), who has an extensive and dubious circle of past associations and decisions be even considered Presidential material? And where has the press, in any semblence of due diligence vetted this amorphous smooth talking opportunist? If any major paper put in 1/10th the effort to investigate Obama's past dealings as they investigate Sarah Palin's family, he would not even be in the running and Hillary Clinton would be the Democrat's nominee.
3) The disconnect between the claims of feminism and the actual support of women became clear this year. Even women pundits of the MSM, in their haughty, elitist voices ran all over Sarah Palin -- and why? Because Governor Palin had the audacity, the gall to actually have a full family life in addition to a political life. Isn't Palin the very embodiment of the feminist ideal -- a tough woman who is also a mom with a husband that truly supports her professional career? But, of course, she is a -- take a deep breath -- Republican. Obviously, a traitor.

Next, let's put a big shiny star on your lumpy forehead for trying to write just like a grown up person!

I'll presume you were attempting to use the English language here. 10,000 percent translates to 100. I'll also presume you are attempting in a laughably oafish way to assail Ms. Palin's executive experience as Mayor- you know, the type of experience b.hussein has NONE of. Doing the math, we come up with your claim of 1,100. Wrong, dummy. The town was larger than that.

You also curiously leave out her executive experience as Governor of Alaska- again, something b.hussein has NONE of.

As Governor of Alaska, or as b.hussein would call it "Alaskilly", Palin was in charge of a budget a good deal larger than three times what jugears spends in a month on his cult of personality tour. As Governor, she was also was responsible for something larger than her own ego.

But on second thought - given the hubris your empty suit has shown, Alaska and b.hussein's ego might be somewhat similar in size after all.

Nice try, no go back to the crayons and safety scissors.

All the junk put out about the candidates from blogers and the MSM addresses each party's base but does little to persuade those who can still think. A candidate's character is more important than any other human trait, for authenticity and core beliefs are what sets one apart from all others.

It speaks volumes when the MSM refuses for two or more years to address a candidate's character or authenticity, and ignores startling evidence that their candidate's world view is not shared by most Americans,

That's my thought after last night's speeches. I don't think there was anywhere near enough anger or contrast comparing the McCain/Palin ticket to Obama/Biden. Even if McCain and Palin stay above the fray and show perserverance and grace in their speeches, the foot soldiers need to treat this like WWIII and come out guns blazing. We need to call out Obama's absence of experience, ties to thugs and crooks and terrorists and racists. Don't beat around the bush guys, this is serious business and the truth about the Obamarxist needs to be spread by the GOP.

As for Gov. Palin, and I hope this is the case with many more working women around the country, my wife was going to probably sit this one out and she's more conservative than I am. The selection of Gov. Palin has her energized beyond belief. My wife has worked from day one and we have a 8 and 6 year old at home. She has so much respect for Gov. Palin and what's she's accomplished while being a wife and mom. And she's livid at the MSM for their attempted destruction of her family and character. So Gov. Palin needs to come out strong and graceful tonight and Mitt and Mike and Fred and Newt and Rudy, et al....need to put the vice to Obama and the MSM and call him out and the MSM out for what the are....a Marxist and Marxist state-run media.

Hitting It In The Head
Hugh hit it right on the head about daughters. I have two and am in a rage over what I see as overt sexism in the media and by Obama and his surrogates.

Obama refusing to acknowledge Palin as Governor of Alaska is an effort to diminish her achievements.

Campbell Brown asking whether she should be running for office with children at home. Perhaps Brown should go back home to her child/dren and skip the six figure paychecks. Same with Trotta.

The constant attacks of "bimbo", "stewardess", and the rumor-mongering. The attacks on her children are despicable as well.

I look at this and realize that my daughters will face the same attacks running for office. Especially if they stray off the liberal plantation. Hillary Clinton ran into this same treatment by Obama supporters. I did not realize how awful it was until now.

I think it is absolutely appropriate to engage Palin on the issues. However, gender based attacks of the type not faced by men in politics is inappropriate and sets a precedent that equal pay legislation will never correct.

As to that legislation, how do you propse it be implemented? How do you suggest we determine whether being an administrative assistant is equivalent to being a ditch digger?

Civil rights? Dig a little deeper and find out who made it possible for the Civil Rights Act to pass.

There is certainly disagreement on issues. That is expected. To turn it into personalized sexist attacks is what is causing an angry reaction. It reminds me of livng in Arkansas in the late 70's and early 80's and seeing the attacks leveled at Hillary Clinton. We thought we were past that but I guess not.

In general there is a furious reaction on the right. Whether or not the backlash will lead to a turning tide is not certain. But there are a lot of working mothers out there that are facing this treatment every day in the workplace.

Since when is the sex life of a 17 year old girl any of your business? Do you really understand people are sickened by this raw display of slander? Do you really understand that the very people Obama needs to win over in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Colorado are being driven away by the Koskidz and the MSM? You can thump your chests and yodel all you want now, but the very people Obama must have to win (Remember Hillary buried him in Ohio and Pennsylvania) are the ones most likely to be outraged over the hideous attacks made on Bristol Palin.

This entire spectacle will cause alot of curious viewers to tune in tonight to hear Sarah Palin give a great speech. She will connect to millions of viewers. Most viewers will see for themselves what kind of person she is.

The MSM has reached a new low -a Rubicon of sorts. Even if McCain loses this November, the fate of such media giants as the New York Times and MSBC, CNN will be sealed. Thier readership/viewership will continue to plummet. I seriously doubt any of these media outlets will be around in thier current form in 2012.

Are you really that niave? The MSM will totally ignore Palin's stand on the issues, the job she has done as govenor of Alaska, and the huge amount of reform she did in just 2 years. The MSM will speak of nothing else but Bristol, Bristol's boyfriend, and gossip about whether Sarah Palin should have taken an air plane flight when she was 8 months pregneant.

In the meantime, McCain/Palin will burn up the trail in key border states (Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Colorado). Palin and McCain will beat Obama/Biden at the debates, but the MSM will still talk about a 17 year old's sex life. Then in October, the Dems and the MSM will realize Obama is about to get waxed. From there, the MSM will begin to question whether Americans are racists, etc...

This is how the game has been played since 1992. It didn't work in 2000 nor in 2004.

'Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney may be putting on a brave face for the cameras after losing out to Gov. Sarah Palin for the veepship, but his ever-loyal cadre of aides and consultants and conservative media types continue to work for him.

Almost every critical remark made about Palin on a recent briefing call about her selection came from political consultants with ties to Romney. Those comments were planted, says one, because they knew that reporters would be on the call.'

I agree that the behavior of the left, especially the various MSM outlets, has been atrocious with respect to Gov. Palin and her family ( who clearly ARE NOT off-limits as "civilians"). If you want to see a nice distillation of the left's view of the Governor's family, take a look at the Us Magazine website. The cover is very mild and in no way offensive. The content of the piece on Palin is very even-handed and fair, and does not betray the feelings of the writer and the editors. (too bad this place lacks a "rolling eyes" emoticon, eh?)

Wonder if Sarah Palin knows
how many Americans from all walks of life "have her back" during the lib/MSM bashing she and her family are currently experiencing?

I hope she knows. Because our band transcends political, gender, economic, cultural and religious lines ..... Why?

Two basic reasons:

We know the issues at stake include authenticity, reform, ethics, national security and energy.

And we're not one-iota as afraid of the detractors, operatives and muck-rakers as they are of what Sarah Palin brings to the McCain ticket.

It simply does not square----you cannot have it both ways, unless of course, you are working for the Los Angeles Times among many other mainstream news sources.
Then you can employ the most twisted of logic, void of any rational reconciliation.

The media especially CNN will learn. How can a woman anchor with kids say that another woman with kids shouldn't take a job because she needs to be home taking care of her kids. The right wing agenda is dead in this country by suicide! Palin was obviously Rove's pick, not McSames, as is becoming more apparent every day. Obama is no Kerry and you guys are going down in a landslide this time. Kerry never led in the polls, but Obama is already up by 10 in some polls, which are slanted toward the right anyway as evidenced by the last election. Palin Attacks=Jealously by Elites
The attacks on Sarah Palin by liberal women make me realize that these liberal women are so jealous of this conservative woman because she has done what they have proposed but have not been successful at. The first female V.P. or President was supposed to be a liberal, elite woman.

Gov. Palin has built a political career on her own merit not on the back of her husband's name (i.e. Hillary) or his death (i.e. Carnahan).

Gov. Palin is successful without having graduating from an elitist, pricey, indoctrinating, Ivy League school and then complaining about having to pay back student loans (i.e. Michelle Obama). Thank God.

Gov. Palin is successful without having to get permission from Emily's List and all the elitist MSM. How can she be successful without having swallowed the kool aid?

Gov. Palin is having it all, marriage, family, career. Isn't this what the lib women have been telling us we're supposed to be doing since the 60's?

Last, but not least, Gov. Palin is a political woman who obviously is still feminine enough to have a healthy sex life with her husband, unlike the mutual users of each other, Bill and Hillary. If you don't think these far left liberal women aren't jealous of that, then you don't know women!

Diane writes: Wednesday, September, 03, 2008 1:27 PM
As an educated professional woman...
...I am livid at the media feeding frenzy WRT Sarah Palin. Once again, the Dem moonbats are showing their true colors: They are, to invoke a feminist phrase from the '70s, sexist pigs.

Years of interaction with liberals at Internet fora have shown me, again and again, that leftist men are the most crudely, viciously sexist people on the planet. Predictably, too, leftist women are jumping on the misogynist bandwagon -- proving, yet again, that they care nothing for women and everything for their own narrow, rigid, pro-abort dogmatism.

The folks on this forum touting Obama's exceedingly modest post-convention bounce as some sort of slam-dunk are kidding themselves, big time. The MSM's unconscionable smear campaign vs. Palin is already backfiring; the media's outrageous double standard is obvious to anyone with half a brain cell.

We women will not stand for any more leftist misogyny. We're lining up with Sarah Palin, and we'll help her deliver a landslide victory for the McCain/Palin ticket in November.

Thanks for the welcome. And Erin you reinforce my point. The name calling gets us where in this "supposedly serious debate". It shows a mature audience having a serious debate does it. I postulated several observationsOne of the scholars, I think the opinionator, mentions how would we gauge equal pay. Well damn the premise is if we are both front desk agents performing the same task we get equal pay! That’s what the EQUAL means. Talk or speak to the pre-birth agenda and how it is a blank statement about caring for life. Life is not only precious before we hit the turf but even your dumb a** thinking is afforded protection and warrants healthcare and other social nets as being a member of the most prospered country on the planet. By the way my pause about Palin is not only about her choices or judgment but of McCain’s. With Mccain first major decision as a presidential candidate, instead of appointing the running mate he wants, he caves in to the religious right and appoints someone he doesn’t know and barley vetted. This is not the action of a “maverick,” this is toadyism plain and simple. If this decision represents how he will run the country, it tells me all I need to know about McSame. On PalinI agree with Barack and John that the daughter’s pregnancy is not per se relevant to her credentials to be vice. But her lack of significant qualifications and experience with respect to national public policy, her relatively limited education, her lack of international engagement and her rejection of science in various arenas are. Given that Gov Palin is willing to impose her views on private family matters on others, in terms of her opposition to abortion and her commitment to abstinence-only sex education, its legitimate to question such a parent’s responsibility to her children.

One last thing SmarticosGov Palin has said she decided to carry to term her child who has Downs. Of her daughter premarital pregnancy she also says, “We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby.” But how can one claim to be anti-choice and twice speak about decisions? A true prolife candidate must believe that there is no choice but to bear the child, and that the law should bar any such decisions to the contrary. Indeed, if the governor learned of her own child’s down syndrome from prenatal testing, is it not hypocrisy to ever have such a test since the fetus has a right to live regardless?

Palin, on the other hand, had to work with people on both sides of the aisle, people who disagreed with her, people who fought against her. She ran as Mayor of a town of normal people and Governor of a State with incredible resources and diversity. It is the only state that borders two foreign countries - Russia and Canada. There is no comparison with regards to the experience question.

Can anyone do math? If Sarah Palin’s newborn son is 4.0 months old and her daughter is 5.0 months pregnant how, HOW can this baby be Bristol’s child??????? These abhorrent journalistic freaks are set loose on the public (and our children) posing as ethical reporters.

Attacking children, albeit physically or mentally, is the most loathsome act anyone could do. It takes a serious, very evil “bottom-feeder” to endeavor to destroy the well-being of a child or teen. We, as parents, know the very, very, delicate psychological balance of a teen via their metamorphose to adulthood.

Libs working for the devil
pure and simple. They suckle on the liquid of vile filth and evil that Satan uses to corrupt the minds of once-good people.

They have allowed themselves to lose all self-respect, and to not be able have a thought other than lewd, crude, nasty and hateful.

They worship Obama because he is one of Satan's own, so they feel a kindred spirit toward him.

But ask these people what substainance Obama has; What his accomplishments are; what experience he can bring to the Presidency, and it shuts them right up because that is where they have no argument. Problem is they don't care because they have been brainwashed, partly from listening to the evil, far-left reporting by the whacko, Satan-supported Media.

I believe the Liberal people in this country to be the ba$tard children of Satan himself, and not worthy of any stress they cause us with their many hateful causes to support all that is wrong in America.

They should in effect have no effect on what we know in our hearts to be right and good.

"Millions of Americans who have never received a government check are shocked at the dismissiveness of Palin's background especially in contrast to the worship of the government-backed lifetime careers of Obama and Biden."

Palin's "lifetime career" has also been "government-backed." She worked for four years as either an anchor or within her husband's company. The rest? Government.

Obama worked for four years in the "New York Public Interest Research Group" and the "Business International Corporation."

Biden worked for maybe a year as a lawyer.

Regardless, they've all been getting checks from a government for most of their working lives.

Even Better
The MSM has yet to vet BO!

Didn't break or really cover the John Edwards scandal.

Won't write about some of the shady dealings of the Biden sons.

Etc. etc.. etc.

Also, why was it ok for Biden to leave his motherless sons in Delaware every day while he commuted to DC to be a new senator? Who cared for them until he got home very late at night according to Biden himself.

When Sarah moves into the Naval Observatory she will at least be able to live and work in the same city as her children. Additionally, considering that Sarah's son, Track, is a grown man and will be serving our country in Iraq, I hardly think he will be a tremendous responsibility for Sarah. Nor will her expectant daughter who will be married and probably be living in Alaska. Let's see, that means Sarah will have 3 children to care for while the Obamas would have two. Not such a big difference, is it? But, of course, we won't have to worry about that with BO as Mac will be Prez and he and Cindy should be able to care for their family as well.

Whatcha got? Other than rumor and rubbish from the Kos-Kob Korps, that is ....

My post:

Wonder if Sarah Palin knows how many Americans from all walks of life "have her back" during the lib/MSM bashing she and her family are currently experiencing?

I hope she knows. Because our band transcends political, gender, economic, cultural and religious lines ..... Why?

Two basic reasons:

We know the issues at stake include authenticity, reform, ethics, national security and energy.

And we're not one-iota as afraid of the detractors, operatives and muck-rakers as they are of what Sarah Palin brings to the McCain ticket.

Posters, take a look at Drudge now. It has a story that months ago, the Messiah tried to get Fox News, Roger Ailes, to go in the tank for him ala MSNBC, CNN and the MSM. Ailes told him, Fox would be fair but never go in the tank for him. The Messiah was miffed. O'Reilly now has an interview with the Messiah on Thurs. program. And some media are reporting that the blow back against the mean spirited attacks against the Palin family is accelerating. That Obama whines he is and has had more executive experience than Sarah because he has been running for Prez for 19 months is almost laughable instead of just being pathetic. The guy is still an empty suit. And a poll today has Hil leading Sarah by 9 pts. in a Pres. race. Holy Cow. She hasn't even spoken to the Convention and the American public yet. If she stays cool and keeps to her story and reform and getting new energy resources by drilling, will be a home run and the MSM will get even more frantic.

Yes it does seem that the faux sophisticates, much of the MSM, liberal academics and sundry have gathered into a rabid pack, grunting their vulgar bonafides as a wretched caricature from one of those movies--Bonfire of the Vanities, Four Seasons--I don’t know they all run together, whatever. And that in their mimicry and poses they congratulate themselves as art, er authentic, well yes they do and are bad art.

Where do such vile creatures come from you ask? I think I know. They are escapees from the isle of Houyhnhnm. Encountered by our friend’s friend Gulliver, and described thusly:

“By what I could discover, the Yahoos appear to be the most unteachable of all Animals, their Capacities never reaching higher than to draw or carry Burthens. Yet I am of Opinion this Defect ariseth chiefly from a perverse, restive Disposition. For they are cunning, malicious, treacherous and revengeful. They are strong and hardy, but of a cowardly Spirit, and by consequence, insolent, abject, and cruel.” Yep, that’s it.

when ever I read a post from one of the Palin Crusaders that "The Dems are running scared" or that they are "worried" about the impact of Palin being on the ticket for the GOP...

I am a huge GOP supporter, but I am also objective and right now there is no evidence of any positive impact that Palin has had for the Reeps since Mac selected her.... In fact, an argument could be made that we have slid in the polls since the announcement...

Prior to Mac announcing Palin as his running mate (which was about a week ago),when it appeared that Romney or Pawlenty was going to be the pick, McCain was running even with or slightly ahead of Obama in the Polls.... Now, he is running anywhere from 5 to 8 points down, and we are in the middle of our convention.... I am really hoping that this does not turn out to be another poke that we have self administered to our own eye...

Eight years of media hounding a Republican administration had this country softened up for an easy kill. Even some of the SMART people were starting to believe the media lies (e.g. We can't win in Iraq; we are in a recession).
This election was supposed to be a slam dunk, but instead they pull out the most incompetent boob ever to get a nomination and to that he adds the most pompous, air-spewing a-hole in the Senate to fill out his ticket.
Meanwhile, McCain is siphoning off Hillary voters, and to this HE adds the perfect foil to Obama, thereby checkmating the Dems.

These people are just vindictive. But what do you expect from a couple of liberal progressive lawyers...

Obama\Biden is equality through prosecution. The Obama\Biden gulag will be a new and progressive place for republicans to be enlightened on how to be good citizens of the world...the gulag includes mass bathing facilities, out door toilets, and a number of rides inlcluding the fast paced catch a rat for food ride...and it's all free. All you have to do is be on the republican voting registration in 2008 and you can enter this progressive reconstitution wonderland. One of the main attractions is the dig your own grave ride which is very popular amongst the old and very young.

So, vote republican today, and get your free pass to the Obama\Biden gulag. It's free, all you have to do is vote on Nov 4th.

Trying to change the subject
The mainstream media outlets and left blogs have said virtually nothing about Palin's family problems. As Obama has said, they are irrelevant.

Here is what's being discussed:

-Palin's corruption scandal currently under bipartisan investigation, which she has hired a lawyer to obstruct.

-Palin's connection to the Alaska Independence Party, which she praised as Governor and whose leader has said he hates the American government and "won't be buried under their damn flag".

-The fact that Palin was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it, and only opposed it so she could divert the money to other pork projects. As Mayor of Wasila, she sponsored the very pork McCain purports to oppose.

-Palin's firing of the Wasila police chief and librarian for insufficient "loyalty".

-Palin's desire to ban books from the public library.

-Palin's belief that abortion should be completely banned, no exception for rape and incest.

Most significantly, McCain's horrible judgement in picking this obscure nutjob as his running mate (apparently in a fit of temper because Rove wouldn't let him pick who he really wanted, Lieberman.

It's understandable that the right wants to turn this into a "bash the media" fest on the sympathetic family issues. The only way Palin doesn't follow Eagleton into historic ignominy is to divert the legitimate vetting of Palin with crocodile tears. The "sexism" charge is particularly rich.

We've only begun to research this candidate. Who knows what else is lurking out there? One only hopes the media will keep doing its' job concerning the potential second-in-command to a 72-year-old cancer survivor.

very positive thing that has clearly been created

last decade have employed to get them frothing;

atheists, space invaders. Sarah is "one of us",

And you think McCain did this for good of country?
He just wants to win so badly, he's finally got you in, hook line and sinker. Then after he gets
elected, he doesn't really need you any more. He
will find some way to weasel out of his promises.

But let's talk about you and your beliefs:
1) It's okay to slaughter human babies before they are born in the name of "Free Choice" on the part of all females;
2) We have to raise taxes because of our debt situation (but will take of those who have been victomized in the credit markets for signing up to purchase things that they could not afford);
3) We need to get out of our conflicts with Terrorists abroad so that we can reduce our expenditures on a strong military so that we can pay for the health care and the education of the unproductive or those that refuse to work (oh and cross our fingers that Radical Islam won't bring more of their terror to the streets of America);
4) We need to avoid building energy supply if it means drilling off our shores or in ANWR, or removing restrictions on Liquified Coal, or beginning the harvest of Shale.... It's better to pay more for gas. Etc., Etc.

You and your buddies Scott will continue to be on the wrong side of the issues and as a result, you will always be in the minority on a national level.
