Hillary, Obama, and the Keystone State

Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey has endorsed Barack Obama. As you may recall, in 1992, Bill Clinton (and the DNC) would not allow Casey's father (who was the governor of Pennsylvania) to speak at the Democratic Convention -- because he was pro-Life and wanted to give a pro-life speech. Might this be a pay-back to the Clintons?
But while this news certainly favors Obama, what happened yesterday was not good news for his chances in the Keystone state. As I noted yesterday, it has been revealed that Rev. Wright also made some past racist comments regarding Italians.
I asked GOP Strategist Chris LaCivita -- who hails from McKeesport, PA -- if this would hurt Obama in Western, PA.
I also reminded him of Fraco's Army -- a large group of Steelers fans who were proud of Franco Harris' Italian heritage (he was half Italian), and who often brought Italian flags to the games in the 70s.
According to LaCivita,
Franco’s army never was a voting bloc – was just a group (a large one nonetheless) that liked Franco Harris –
But, yes, your other point is more valid --
This is the last thing the Obama campaign wants going into PA – Italian Americans are fiercely patriotic – and don’t take kindly to being insulted.
The only question remaining is – how many other ethnic groups has Obama’s “uncle” insulted?

Lots of Democrats sincerely wish they had known about Rev. J. Wright before February. They certainly would have NOT voted for Obama. Most Americans have evolved since the 1950s, we've grown; Americans were willing to vote for him. We resent being thought of as typicl-anything racists. We are a nation of vast diversity, a melting-pot. We've blended, and we've gotten over it. Wright should too. Most Americans have at least a little slave blood in their lineage. Thousands of whites fought and gave their life to end slavery. The slaves were freed- many black citizens in America are free to be great. Unfortunately, people like Wright are still slaves, at least mentally. Who exactly is oppressing Rev. Wright? Who is oppressing Obama? Race is NOT an issue with Americans. Our beef with Rev. Wright is his extremely anti-Americanism and his total disrespect and intolerance for other ethnic races. Obama should be ashamed of himself for trying to diminish Wright's rantings as one itty-bitty soundbite played back-to-back over and over to make it seem longer. Over 20 years, how many HOURS did Obama and his family sit there in the pew and listen to the madness and shrug it off? His superior intellect should have told him that those kinds of sermons are not Christian. And maybe that's what disgusts us the most as Christian people. Christ's message was love. In all the rantings, did we once hear Wright mention love? Where in the Bible did Jesus talk against the government? Where did Jesus encourage people to hate their neighbor? Obama could have found a typical Christian church to attend. Typical Christian churches don't care about race, they're sincerely happy you've come to worship with them. Jesus didn't specify when He said, "Where two or more are gathered in My Name..." |

He "loves the HELL OUT OF them!" I think at that point there was a bit of froth spittling out of his mouth. He also said, 'I don't hate like they hate!' I know, that was after the 30 minute hate-filled rant... er... loving sermon about the e-vil white man. So see...
Maybe you missed that part... you know, about loving 'THE HELL OUT OF' his enemies and not hating... yeah, you simply missed it... |

The fact is: I am more conservative than almost anyone reading this post.
The fact is: Hillary Clinton is a female George Washington compared to the brilliantly disguised, radical Obama.
The fact is: The Great Collaborator, John McCain, has spent his life betraying the people and principles he claimed to represent---and he dumped the mother of his children for a rich, trophy blond, which is even worse that what Hillary's husband did in the White House.
The fact is: Conservatives should give credit to Mrs. Clinton for raising a wonderful daughter in the midst of great adversity. Remarkable, "gold tried by fire". This says something good about her.
The fact is: I firmly disagree with many of her policies, but I realize that Hillary is a strong, strong woman---and with her we know what we will be getting, good and bad. In contrast, Obama would be a surprise present from hell when America opened the package, and John McCain simply cannot be trusted.
The fact is: The Bosnia sniper tempest in a teapot is just another diversion by radically, leftist media desperate to elect Jeremiah Wright's soul-son. We all embellish our memories from time to time, it's human nature. I have thrown many more spectacular touchdown passes since I finished playing football.
The fact is: Unless conservatives can find the spiritual love child of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher, and run him on a Third Party ticket; or unless McCain chooses a VP on the line of Duncan Hunter or J.C. Watts who would give conservatives hope for the future---I support Hillary Clinton as the best of the three candidates.

In his pre-Super Tuesday speech to LA Latinos, the LA times (and MSNBC) reported that Barack Obama asked a rhetorical question to Latinos: Why do they always assume that illegal aliens are people of color...what about the Irish and the Polish...'.
Given that Bill Clinton was called a racist at that exact time for pointing out that Jesse Jackson had won the South Carolina primary..why is NOBODY pointing out that Obama is attempting to pit one ethnic group against another, for the sake of political gain?
He is as divisive a figure as you could imagine.
If you need the URL's for his speech, please let me know.
