Obama Doesn't Have Time for Democracy

The Washington Post's lead editorial today, "A Dissident Deflected," pointed out the Obama administration's unwillingness to support Cuba's pro-democracy opposition. Normally, the honorees of the National Endowment for Democracy's annual Democracy Award travel to Washington to have a meet and greet with the president. The Obama administration declined to honor this year's honorees, five leaders of Cuba's pro-democracy opposition. The Post points out that Obama is not simply too busy to deal with Latin America in general, noting that he heaped praise on Chile and met with Hugo Ch?vez. The Post says,
Message to Mr. Ch?vez and the Castro brothers: We can work with you. Message to Cuba's democratic opposition: We don't have time for you. Obama quickly wrote a brief statement in support of this year's honorees after the Post inquired, commending
"all the brave men and women who are standing up for the right of the Cuban people to freely determine their country's future." For a president who is already being criticized for his failure to speak out on behalf of Iranian freedom, Obama does not need anyone else to point out that he isn't exactly a champion of democracy. There is an ongoing criminal conspiracy among Obama supporters in Nashville to cover up crimes committed by his campaign in 2007, 2008 and 2009. These crimes include, but are not limited to, VOTER FRAUD, IDENTITY THEFT, COMPUTER THEFT, INVASION OF PRIVACY and petty BURGLARIES similar to WATERGATE. Grand Jury forming in Nashville to Investigate crimes committed in 2008 Election.

Sadly you have said it best. |

poor soul, the community organizer, is nothing more than a cipher and yet, you notice, he still has the drooling fans who "think" he is exceptional. Amazing! |
|
[He stole my country.]
Despite the fact that he was legally elected in an election according to due process that lacks all evidence of widespread fraud that would account for millions of votes?
That's a pretty liberal definition of the word 'stole'.
As to the post, I think all of this constant demands to sing and dance for a particular group is rather tiresome.
They are empty symbolic gestures, when people should be calling for liberalization of trade and a lifting of travel restrictions to Cuba. Give them more exposure to real freedom and I doubt their government will last another 50 years. |
|
At the very least, can you all stop including the Washington Post in the "liberal media" grab bag? They were an eager faucet for every salacious leak from Kenneth Starr's investigation of Clinton. They have supported the Iraq war from the get-go, they viciously attacked Al Gore for saying, before the invasion, that the real problems would come after Saddam was overthrown. Their front page recently referred to Obama's "fear of offending the mullahs." For every liberal columnist, they have two conservatives. And now an editorial chastising him for not working with anti-Castro forces.
Maybe the Rev. Moon is angling to buy them. |
|
Yeah, that too. He's just awful. Can't do ANYTHING right.
I bet he kicks puppies too.

Comrade Obama has more in common with Chavez and Castro and A-jad than he does with any pro-democracy advocate. Democracy just gets in the way of big government socialism. |
|
The only criticism President Obama is receiving on his handling of Iran is from the hard liners on the Right; and not even all of them, for that matter. It is with that fact in mind that I also don't think we're hearing the whole story from you now on the subject of this commentary.
What we find here for the most part is a decidedly hard Right slant in relating the news. Therefore, it should be taken with a grain of salt until someone actually ventures out of this site to see where the real truth lies. |

It is very important that Patriots know to do this:
1) Find the CROOKED politicians in your City or Town that supported BO.
2) Link these CROOKED politicians to crimes committed by the BO Campaign.
3) Charge CROOKED politicians and BO as co-conspirators in the commission of campaign crimes and you have a Criminal Case against BO that can be prosecuted in Court in your County Seat.
http://thesteadydrip.blogspot.com/2009/06/nashville-citizen s-grand-jury-forming.html
4) Of course, you add all the other Crimes that BO committed elsewhere to your INDICTMENT also. But to prosecute BO in your State you have to link him as a co-conspirator to crimes committed in your State. |

used to complain about "Bush Derangement Syndrome"?
Well. . . |
|
|
Gad, you libs can't stop whining about the "attacks" on your messiah when he has faced, oh maybe 1 percent of the crap that the media inflicted on Bush from day 1 of his admin. Grow up, you cry-babies. When a movie is made about Obama being assassinated maybe you'll have a complaint but for now the bowing media are too busy on giving us "behind the scenes" a$$-kissing, infomercials of his greatness. |

Barack Obama doesn't have time for those in other nations who fight for freedom and democracy. Barack Obama doesn't have time for foreign issues period, he is too busy imposing autocratic rule in the United States. How can he acknowledge the Sons of Freedom of foreign nations, when he is gutting individualism in the U.S on a massive scale? |

Bite-Me...? Thank you. Now scat, Twerp. You're BEYOND tiresome. |

The Bamma as Bros in the Revolution. Less polished, more brutal, but Bruthas in the struggle. Knowhat'tamean? Not different than his Chi-Town pals, Bernardine & Billy.

Arch says
Vlad. Why do you continue to post here when you know damn well that you have no creditability? Zero, zilch, nada. Everyone knows that you diss our troops when they are KIA. You were factually banned from the powerlineblogforum for doing so! What could possibly make you think anyone here but libtards grant you any creditability? Are you just here to disrupt intelligent debate or are you an attention Jezzebelle? If you want a smidgeon of creditability, then I suggest you apologize to our troops and warrior heroes for your lack of compassion for those who protect you. I may even have an intuition to forgive you if you would apologize for that one thing you so despicably did! |

Hints of Obummer's arrogance and twisted perception of democracy are there, for those who are not blinded by his celebrity personna.
His beloved media and fawning fans are entirely ignoring many of these, the media opting not to write about Obama's manipulation of Inspector's General office First, he fires Gerald Walpin for no reason (and without regard for 30 day notice), and now, he is encroaching on the powers and the responsibilities of, Neil Barofsky.
The democrats created the IG post when it wass convenient for them to bash Bush. Apparently now, it is proving to be extremely uncomfortable for dems as Obama is poised to be embarrassed by the IG offices.
This is a truly significant story---one being quashed by the Chicago-style, Obama machine and the irresponsible media. |

Moral cowardice, probable. Despicable, without a doubt. |
|
Obama ain't to fond of democracy and it's on parade for all to see.
Black liberation theology is Marxist theology by another name. And a rose by any other name is still a rose.
Ayers is a committed Marxist and loves Hugo Chavez. Obama is committed Marxist and loves Hugo Chavez.
Not surprised he would snub the Cuban pro - democracy movement.

FROM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN LIVING IN SALEM OREGON
Take heed of the seeming gentle winds of change that now wash over us, for they carry with them the whispers of tyranny and the seeds of the destruction of liberty. Let us not turn our backs on the buffeting gusts, but face them and peaceably, but resolutely drive them back from whence they came, secure in the knowledge that the true power of our beloved Federal Republic lies not behind the gilded doors, but dwells - burns - in the bosom of patriots. Be watchful that our complacency does not incubate the seeds that sow our own destruction. Liberty is in need of pursuit if it is to be obtained and held fast.

He just can't seem to get interested in that democracy thing.
Me thinks he thinks democracy is overrated and seeks to subjugate.
And anyway he's a little to preoccupied with coddling tyrants, dictators and murderous thugs without preconditions.
It takes a thug to know a thug. In fact he's invited a few to our 4th of July party.
Great post Publicus. |

Thanks, just a few thoughts. |

People tend to either credit lawyers and judges far too much or discredit them to the extreme. The truth is lawyers and judges are greatly restricted by the privilege of license or of office. The people who are patriots have far more freedom of action and far less restrictions in our society.
Did you know that any citizen patriot can bring a criminal case against Barrack Hussein Obama in the County in which they reside? You do not have to be an Attorney General to indict a ham sandwich or a Barrack Obama. If a patriot had evidence of a crime committed by the 2008 BO campaign and that patriot presented said evidence to a sympathetic Grand Jury with a charge of conspiracy to commit said crime against Barrack Obama, that patriot could get BO indicted like that proverbial ham sandwich.

by Congress has officially ended. Chairmen John Conyers says:
This investigation has been promptly halted by "powers that be".
Now I wonder who that could be? So much for that Transparency!!!!! |

Chicago politics has spread to DC via Obama. There will never be any transparancy. |

...You are the master of the non sequitur. Instead of dispelling the counter point, which is obviously steeped in sarcasm, you engage in false analogy. Shape up, lad, keep up with the essence. Stop straining at the gnats and ignoring the whole animal. |

And you the master of hyperbole and laid-on-with-a-trowel sarcasm. Carry on. |
