Welcome Chairman Steele
Posted by: Dwayne Horner at 6:46 PM
History was made Friday with the election of former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele as the new Chairman of the Republican National Committee...the de facto leader of the GOP. Without control of the White House or the Congress, Chairman Steele's work will be cut out for him. There are different groups sprouting out around the country like mushrooms after a spring rain, all trying to be THE one to fix the GOP. To a large extent, that is great for the party. However, moving forward, Michael Steele will have to be the face of the party and do a convincing job of showing the American people that the Republican Party is the home of conservatism...which means smaller government, lower taxes, fighting the war on terror, and the home for pro-life advocates in America. The attacks are already out there as Amanda has pointed out here and here.? Can you imagine a democrat having oreo cookies thrown at him or his credit record being stolen during a campaign? I didn't think so.

Chairman Steele, welcome and good luck. We've got a new start, added to the unity on the bailout bill, and we've got a long way to go to get out of the wilderness...but now we have a man with a compass and let's follow him and help him.

A glimpse of Steele.
Yesterday I read an article online where Michael Steele predicted that the GOP may be out of political power till 2016, if not 2020. Folks I have written numerous times that Michael Steele has no idea what he is doing, and now he is basically conceeding that he is not going to be able to mobilize the GOP back into power until a time when he most likely will no longer even be the RNC Chairman. Think about it, Michael Steele himself has stated that the GOP should get used ti being out of power for at least the next EIGHT YEARS! Is this what Republicans want in their leadership? Michael Steele is already making excusues for what is sure to be his upcoming failure as RNC Chairman. I will say this if by chance the Republican Party can pull an upset in 2010 as they did in 1994, it will be inspite of Michael Steele and not because of him; Steele will simply be a person who was in the right place at the right time.

CUBAN PETE
Right on. Fleur is one of the useful idiots. Probably a Jane Fonda devotee, still pursuing her words of wisdom from nearly forty years ago about how if we only knew what communism really was, we would all get down on our knees and pray for it. LOL

"Can you imagine a democrat having oreo cookies thrown at him"

Never happened; Steele and his campaign staff made it up, and were finally forced to admit that they'd lied. Similar to the situation where Steele was caught hiring homeless men to tell people in overwhelming-democratic neighborhoods that Steele was a Democrat.

He's perfect for NRC head.

"the de facto leader of the GOP."

Nah, Limbaugh is the de facto leader of the GOP; Steele is the de jure leader. He has HUGELY less authority and influence on the party and the movement.

Puh...leeze...Gee whiz...
...Republicans lost because they became RINOs. They ran a RINO against B. Hussein O. They ran against conservatism, yes, and they increased Big Government - anathema to conservative principles.

But, thank you, George, for your blatant show of racism. No need to use the "N" word here.

It is also obvious you do not know what capitalism is, and you do not know the dangers of an all-intrusive, dangerous, Big Government. Would you rather purchase your needful goods and services of YOUR CHOICE at an establishment of your choosing? Or would you rather be issued a permit with a mandated schedule and ration coupons with your allotted, government enforced amounts courtesy of your darling, centralist, coercive Big Government ruled by your emperor?

BTW, I do know what Marxism is. You, I wager, have never lived under its real rule.

He better have steel in his backbone. I was pulling for this guy and I hope and pray that he can pull off the impossible------handle those stupid wimps who've been in charge of the GOP for the past few years. I've never seen such embecilic leadership in my life-----throwing away opportunity and power and authority like it was nothing.
IMHO, he needs to recapture the youth; save them from the radical Leftist teachers who've been captivating them throughout their school years; indoctrinating them and filling their heads with Marxist b******t. Marxism is considered cool now and before these children know it, they will have helped usher into existence a full blown Marxist government. They will never know what hit them and never know what they've missed.
