Breaking: Dems Caught on Tape Joking About Hurricane! "God's on Our Side..."
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 2:56 PM
On the way to the GOP Convention, RedState's Erick Erickson happened to sit behind National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina.  What they joked about is very disturbing ...

Clearly, he seems to find it hilarious that a hurricane is going to hit -- and he is delighted that it will have political ramifications to help the Democrats... Disgusting.

View in ascending order View in descending order
Perceptor II writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 3:14 PM
Just repugnant.
We've seen similar views being expressed here from a few (not all) liberal commenters. That many deaths and the loss of homes and livelihoods should be a cause of celebration is absolutely sickening. I would hope most Democrats would agree with me on this.

I would hope all of us, Republican and Democrat and others, would agree that our top priority in regards to Hurricane Gustav is the safety and well-being of those caught in its path. Trying to manage the political fallout should be the last things on our minds right now.
Lerxst writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 3:17 PM
Disgusting
I hope that is a career ending comment.
This should be front & center on the MSM news tonight and this guy should be run out of SC right now.

Trevor writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 3:23 PM
...it makes the socialists happy...
Of course the socialists are excited about the opportunity for scores of Americans in need of the government to come save them. That secures them generations of more followers.

A people dependent on their government to care for them is a people prepared to loose their freedom.
Bob Munck writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 3:39 PM
Paparazzi
So this Erickson guy was sitting behind these people on an airplane, surreptitiously videotaping them? Classy.
Joe writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 3:43 PM
Michael Moore said the same
But you expect it from that fat windbag.

No one should wish a huricane. It is a force of nature no one can truly prepare for (if you get it full force and you are in the wrong place at the wrong time).

But if Gustav does strike and cause massive damages, do you think things just might be different than they were under Katrina? Bush is on the phone already with State leaders. Jindal took over from Blaco primarily becuase of Katrina. Even Nagin is toppng off the school buses and checking air pressure with his handy dandy Obama tire guage.
beaumandy66 writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 4:19 PM
Hey Bob Munck
You ignore what these libs said on tape and are instead upset they got taped by a passenger?

So typical of the godless left.
jj writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 4:24 PM
Dems know they already lost!!
They dont care about people. They just want people to be dependent on the government so they keep their power.
drokmed writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 4:29 PM
It won't make the mainstream news
They won't run anything that shines a bad light on liberals.
The Great Satan™ writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 4:35 PM
.........
Only a stupid liberal malcontent could think God would be on their side when their presidential candidate supports infanticide. These are seriously demented and delusional reprobates.
Perceptor II writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 4:36 PM
In Bob Munck's world...
...it's apparently more outrageous that someone dared to catch them laughing at death and destruction, rather than that they were in fact laughing at death and destruction.
novote4obabam writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 4:39 PM
FACE IT PEOPLE!
THATS ONLY A LITTLE BIT OF WHAT THE DEVIL AND HIS FOLLOWERS WILL DO OR SAY! THEY ARE LEAD BY THE DEVIL! by the WAY McCain picked a tough lady., maybe she will help to clean up our government and obama throwen out ,and sent back to were he came from! by the way, how can obama not even born in AMERICA run for the commander of chief of AMERICA? our freedoms will be gone! this will be the new middle east, run and lead by the terriost!
Tea Party writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 4:49 PM
These
people are beneath contempt.
They will lie, cheat, steal and do whatever else
to win and this is a new low, that the National
Chairman of the Democrat National Committee would
joke about something so disastrous stunning.

When I was growing up in S. Mass. I was told the story of the '38 hurricane, my Dad's Aunt and Uncle survived being washed 1/4 mile up from the beach; people drowned in the lower level stores in Providence and the water mark is still there.
Church groups were picnicking on R.I. beaches not know death was just over the horizen. The
loss of life and property damage was horrendous, in that era there wasn't the warning system we have now..they didn't have a chance.
I went through Carol and Edna as a teenager, one memory i will never forget is a news picture of
a Dr.s wife and college age daughters clinging to the roof of their cottage after refusing to evacuate from the Cape..reaching up towards the chopper and then being swept out to sea, never to be heard from again.
And these RATS have the gall to laugh about Gustav hitting the Gulf states three years after
Katrina. I guess they think they can blame Pres
Bush again even though it was the absolute incompetence of Blanco and Nagin that caused
the deaths of so many people. DemonRAT fits
this party, they are a pack of RATS looking to
feed off the misfortune of others just so they
can have power.
shadowlover65_68 writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 4:54 PM
Typical
Let me get this straight. Jesse Jackson says "someone should cut his nuts off" and MSM has the vapors with tingles up their a%^. These two clowns are laughing and joking about how God is on their side with Gustav about to jeopardize the lives and property of tens of thousands of Americans. I am a Republican, in the face of a hurricane that is the least of concerns . I live in Mississippi and lost my home in Katrina. These two individuals are invited to come down and visit with me. I'll be glad to show them how much God is on their side!

IF MSM DOESN'T MAKE THIS A NATIONAL DISGRACE THEN THE INVITATION IS EXTENDED TO THEM TOO!
shadowlover65_68 writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 5:10 PM
GOP RESPONSE
should be very clear. John and Sarah do not need to be involved. The RNC should revoke the passes given to these two for their own safety ( if they even dare to attend the GOP convention after this). I certainly would not chance the "Leftist Lawyers" suing the GOP for not providing adequate security to these two miscreants. Even better would be to give them prominent seats with the Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida delegates. I'm sure they would leave on their own, very quickly! The more I think about this the angrier I become. IS THIS JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP? The real American democrats need to kick their leftist leadership out of America and retake control of their party before their party ceases to exist!
Sarah writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 5:18 PM
DNC, the party of who?
The are laughing at the poor people whose lives are about to be devastated? Of course if the hurricane happens then the rich will make it out fine but the poor will be devastated. Is this the party of the poor? I hope this is played at a national level over and over again. It is equivalent to Jeremiah Wright's God D america speech....at least Wright seemed genuinely upset about it, these two are laughing at the prospects of americans (poor americans) being destroyed!
LauraG writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 5:43 PM
I'm appalled, but not surprised, so...
I'm sending the web address for this dusgusting video on to everyone I know so they can view it and then send it on to everyone they know. This country needs to see, first-hand how treacherous and callous the dems really are.
casualobserver writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 6:32 PM
Ironic, isn't it?
Republicans hope for terror attacks and new Bin Laden tapes to boost their chances, and now the Democrats look to hurricanes to boost their chances! This just shows that you have scumbags on both sides of the aisle...

Storm Relief?
If Gustav makes landfall as a catatory 5 it would make sense for the GOP to turn its convention into a charity relief collection center. Pandering? No. McCain would be wise to invite Obama to do it too (and Obama is smart enough to think of it on his own). A catagory 5 storm is massive and does not care who you are. We (as in Americans) should all be ready to help.
londongrl writes: Saturday, August, 30, 2008 8:40 PM
I'm frightened by anyone
who presumes that they have god on their side, whether you are on the right or left. It's a very presumptuous thing to say and while the timing of this storm is ironic, "payback" or whatever Dems think this storm is about, isn't worth the lives that are endangered. People like this make me ill.

And why doesn't someone ask Michael Moore, who supported Nader in 2000 why all of the sudden he is for the Democratic candidate? He spent the last eight years reminding us how Congress, including both sides of the aisle, have failed us. He made a film about our failed health care system but is now supporting a party who's candidate accepts large amounts of cash from the health care and insurance industry. He is a fraud.

New Zogby poll shows McCain pulls AHEAD
http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/Zogby_Palin_Gives_McCain /2008/08/30/126447.html

McCain/Palin now at 47%
Obama/Biden slip to 45%

Obama's support among Democrats remains at 86%
McCain's support among Republicans increases to 92%.

Frikken hilarious! Obama's lame speech of lies and spin only got him one day of poll bounce LOL

The GOP knows "disgusting"
Their own Dobson and his rightwing minions prayed to God for drenching rain on Obama's big night. Using our Lord for political gain? DISGUSTING.

Now a hurricane is bearing down on the precise spot one hit 3 years ago, on the same, exact date - due to make landfall on the opening of the RNC convention. Now, Karma doesn't get much more ironic does it?

As a result of the convention more than of his own concerned policy, bush is assuring us of ready help for those who are living in that region. I say this because bush has yet to do right by the victims of Katrina, and McCain voted time and again against legislation to help in NO.

It's funny how the RW works: they will invoke and politicize God when it suits their own purposes, but when it looks as though God is swatting at them, but good, it's whine time if anyone should happen to point out the obvious.
RASHUM writes: Sunday, August, 31, 2008 1:27 AM

Your carrier is now OVER!

If that sob does not resign tomorrow the RNC should run this ad!
Perceptor II writes: Sunday, August, 31, 2008 8:19 AM
Isabella
While I do not agree with Dobson's call for prayer for rain on Obama's big night, I do think there's a substantive difference between wanting rain and cheering on a deadly storm.

Bottom line is that the response to Gustav from all of us shouldn't be laughter, and it shouldn't be hand-wringing and looking to manage away the political fallout. Our response should be prayers for safety and "how can I help?"
joyce writes: Sunday, August, 31, 2008 8:48 AM
Shame on you Fowler!
What a disgrace these DNC members are, we need to clean house and start over!
How can any adult professional man, laugh about his rivals being inconvenienced by a massive hurricane heading for New Orleans...didn't he think about the people affected, doesn't he remember Katrina? People are still suffering because of Katrina. What a cold and thoughtless man! Then he has the nerve to bring GOD into his disgusting conversation!!
Bob Munck writes: Sunday, August, 31, 2008 11:13 AM
Don't Remember Any
I'm curious how many of you reacted with this level of indignation when Bill O'Reilly said on the air:

"I just wish Katrina had only hit the United Nations building, nothing else, just had flooded them out. And I wouldn't have rescued them."

Of course, IOKIYAR.

It's true Fowler is not an elected official but he is embedded in the DNC where O'Reilly holds no official capacity in any party, and no ..if O'Reilly actually said that I could give a rats arse!I am American and care about American lives not a bunch of backstabbing,do nothing, thieves. The bottom line is one is hypothetical and one is actual and you my friend are making a pathetic attempt to defend the actual.
