Its not too suprising, most of us can't stand him. You should listen to all of the local talk shows and read the online posts at our local paper'w website. McCain is so out of touch with what Arizonan's want. There are several youtube videos showing McVain lasing out at townhall goers for asking him about illegal immigration.
McCain will be our nominee, and he will be a disaster. McCain will lose to the dems in Nov. Romney will have to start working for 2012. |
|
The only chance republicans have in this race is history!!
Governors win elections not Washington Relics like McCain.
A 24 year Senator has almost no chance of winning in a change election.
McCain will join Bob Dole and John Kerry as Washington Relic Senators who lost the election.
THE SAD THING IS DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS USED THE SAME ARGUMENTS FOR DOLE AND KERRY.
HE'S A WAR VETERAN AND HE WILL WIN. SORRY, WASHINGTON RELICS IN THE SENATE NEVER DO!! |
|
Not so much the Zogby results (it always was a close contest in California), but take a look at the *spread* of those poll numbers. Everywhere from Romney leading by 3 to McCain leading by 9 in California. A 12-point spread? These poll numbers sure are tumultuous.
Still, I'd trust the Rasmussen results. Unless Mitt makes a move in the next two days, I think McCain takes California by a couple of points. |
|
This is the DUMBEST move by the G.O.P.
Washington relics will not win in a change election. |
|
|
You CAN prevent Amnesty John from being the GOP nominee. VOTE. |
|
RASMUSSEN POLL:
CA: Obama 45% Clinton 44% McCain 38% Romney 38%
GA: McCain 31% Romney 29% Huck 28% Obama 52% Clinton 37%
Romney is now STATISTICALLY TIED:
- Nationally
- Californnia - Missouri - Tennessee - Georgia
And as this article mentions actually leads amongst CONSERVATIVES in McCain's home state by 8. That is truly amazing. |
|
When I heard McCain's Hispanic Outreach guy was none other than Smiling Juan Hernandez, I knew John McCain has heard nothing we have had to say.
Smiling Juan Hernadez We know who he is, we know his loyalties are to Mexico, we know he wants to erase our borders and immigration laws.
JOHN MCCAIN, YOU NEED A NEW HEARING AID
|
|
The Stupid Party
The RNC wants an amnesty candidate.
Don't vote for one.
Another amnesty will result in Democrat majorities for decades, or until they are supplanted by the La Raza Party, why doesn't the RNC know that? How stupid do you have to be to import voters for the opposition at the same time you alienate your own voters? Nominating any of the amnesty supporters is a losing proposition, we will not support them. If the GOP intends to surrender our sovereignty and abandon the rule of law, they will find in November 2008, that they still have their big money/cheap labor donors, but they do not have voters. GOP-RIP |
|
|
McCain but they won't send him money. |
|
|
More people are voting in the Democrat primary than the Republican thanks to the disaster known as the Bush administration. Whether it is McCain or Romney the Republicans are probably going to lose badly this year. |
|
Hugh,
First, you are right. I donated twice to Gov. Romney (and will do so again, after Super Tuesday). I made phone calls and talked to my neighbors to vote for Gov. Romney!
If McKennedy, aka McLIAR, aka McAmnesty, aka McFeingold, aka McLiebarman, aka McEdwards, aka Mc_NYTimes, aka Mc_LATimes, aka McACLU gets the nomination,
I will NOT (a) vote for him, (b) donate $0.01, (c) write e-mails and letters, (d) talk to my neighbors asking them to vote for McLiar (I have decency and shame, and you are not going to see me advocate for McLiar) (e) ask others to donate, (f) ________________ (you fill the blank).
Second, send donations to Gov. Romney. Even if its $25 (you can't go to movies, popcorn, soda, etc. for that price anymore).
Third, make phone calls to your friends and neighbors in the voting states. Get your family and friends to the polls.
Fourth, McCain is NOT electable: 1) Hugh you should make this point - governors win presidency, senators don't. Gov. Carter, Gov. Reagan, (Senior Bush inherited as a VP), Gov. Bill Clinton, Gov. George W. Bush, and now - Gov Romney. 2) McCain's ACU rating is like 55, similar to Sen. Nelson (Democrat-Florida). 3) If your loyal troops don't show up at the battle, regardless of the so-called independents, you lose.

In michigan..didn't it!? hmmmm?! in my area-los angeles/orange county, everyone i talked to---romney all the way! iam talking about jewish, german, polish, english, latinos(mormon), evangelicals, etc.! i ran a poll way back when i was going to college--nixon/humphrey. i got it! and within 1%! iam not going to predict this one! but didnt romneys team say they are going for a split in calif.??? "Many would get over it and pull the lever for McCain..."
You don't have to board the Titanic if you have advanced knowledge it is going to sink. Take look at your ballot. Their are other choices besides Democrat and democrat. And after Tuesday, you can re-register to unaffiliated independent to underscore how you really feel about McCain. Nothing signals a candidate's weakness more than declining party registrations. If the GOP establishment wants to make this an election for Democrats only, don't be afraid to vote third party. For the McCain to come in THIRD in November would be a great victory for conservatism. Don't worry. We survived much worse than four years of Hillary before. We don't live in a cartoon world. Hillary is NOT Hitler. The choice in November will be about whether we want four years of Hillary or eight. McCain would assure that the GOP will be too crippled to come back strong in 2012. |
|
Defeat McCain - vote for anybody but the MSM fall-guy.
McCain supporters, let me plead with you. McCain's current push by the MSM will end. The MSM will turn on him. His free ride will end and the MSM will destroy him. They are using you to get the Dem "Dream Ticket" elected. And, if he were to be elected, he will throw YOU to the dogs first. McCain thumbs his nose at you - McCain is laughing at you, republicans.
Defeat McCain. |
|
|
but Mitt might give a respectable showing. What I'm wondering is, where are all those InTrade knuckleheads who used to tout it? They don't like it so much now that their guy (Rudy) has lost? |
|
Hugh, brother are you nailing it. You absolutely have it figured out and each of your articles just nails it. Thanks,
Go Romney!!! |
|
...very sad, delusional posting. Then it will be time to come back and have a good belly laugh at the expense of Mr. Cancer Scare, Mr. "You're a Religious Bigot," Mr. "He is a Cross-Dresser" and who knows what other slimy things Hugh used on everyone else.
You know, it was not the delusional grasping at straws that was so troubling, it was all the sliming of everyone else.
Rally to Thorazine, boys. |
|
A vote for Huck is a vote for McCain...
It's starting to resonate and the polls are starting to reflect this...
Sorry Joe...
I think you and McCain spoke too soon about having this wrapped up already...
Arrogance and Ignorance are VERY dangerous together...
If there's a continued shift towards Romney and he's in a very close second or even ahead on Tuesday, this thing ain't over and McCain's self-professed nomination is over... |
|
Very good interview. They tried to make the race a personal issue and Hugh did a great job of demonstrating the distrust for McCain because of his ACTIONS in the Senate. Hugh also distanced himself from Ann Coulter calling her a party of ONE. Lots of good press for Romney this morning! The media obviously wants McCain in the general. I hope they get Romney. |
|
Ok. I'm still voting Ron Paul! But I'm rooting for Romney.
New Rasmussen polling!
RASMUSSEN POLL:
CA: Obama 45% Clinton 44% McCain 38% Romney 38%
GA: McCain 31% Romney 29% Huck 28% Obama 52% Clinton 37%
Looks like the Romneyites will fight in the shade! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvx7oXqiaMM |

Pasadena Phil, excellent, excellent. Right on.
If Romney is out, we're immediately going Ron Paul. We'll only vote Hillary if McCain is even close.
Keep McCain OUT.
Better to suffer four years than to have the Republican party in the United States end with grim reaper McCain. |
|
|
|
Just goes to show polls change but you will hear and see more anti-mitt hate from the Mcvain supporters to dismiss all this. That you can count on, there running scared!!!
|
|
|
it came out today. Before Harry Oz and Pasadena Phil start making out, they had better look at all the data. |

Rumor has it that the Sunday talking points are available at McCain.com...
Better go copy and paste here to get the message out...
Any chance you have an original thought on the race?... |

The press only labels him a maverick because he STABS CONSERVATIVES IN THE BACK!!
The press didn't label Zell Miller a maverick.
When he disagreed with the democrats, they labled him a nut.
McCain - Feingold McCain - Kennedy McCain - Lieberman Gang of 14 Closing Gitmo No waterboarding No drilling at Anwar Against the Bush tax cuts Class Warfare
Like Hannity said, these are not small issues!!
McCain has stabbed Conservatives in the back one time too many!! |
|
Zogby has been very accurate in most of the other primaries. If both he and RAS show the same trend then it is real. Romney is surging.
McCain will lose the West where immigration is a hot topic. Romney can win some Northern and Midwestern states that Reps can't normally get. He can fix his problems with Evangelical by his VP pick.
McCain is the WAR candidate and The Rep Party can not go into battle under that banner and not be routed. He will demoralize the Rep base and rev up the Dems. Iraq is now McCain's and the smart thing is to sideline McCain and Iraq as an issue.
Romney can run on immigration, the economy, health care, reforming Washington and a new start. That gives the down ticket people a lot of cover. The party can survive and maybe gain house seats with Romney.
McCain will be a disaster. He is Old and the WAR candidate and represents "more of the same". McCain has die hard resistance from Conservatives and for good reasons.
Romney can run as a new face and on change. Change means many things to different people and give a big tent and umbrella to the Party. Romney is acceptable to all factions of the party.
|
|
McCain builds momentum as we head into the weekend. He gains former Rudy backer and ex-Massachusetts Governor Paul Cellucci (and decides to make Romney sweat in his home state) and also nabs former Rudy advisor Steve Forbes. (Fiscal conservatives can argue whether Forbes or McCain advisor Phil Gramm would make a better Treasury Secretary.) Finally, the McCain team advises the media that in the excruciatingly complicated Louisiana caucuses (in which an uncommitted pro-life slate initially won), the delegates have now selected McCain. He nabs 41 of 47 of the state’s delegates.
Little by little the pieces fall into place. Looking at the latest polling I see Mitt Romney leading only in Massachusetts, Colorado and Utah. In many Red states he runs third to MIke Huckabee. It is quite possible Huckabee will gain more delegates than Romney on Tuesday.

Hunter: Breaking News. Mitt Romney is going to lose. |
|
|
Hugh is a complete idiot. Huckabee voters will not vote for Romney. If Huckabee would drop out, McCain would get most of those votes. I personally will never vote for the liberal Romney. |
|
Romney is blowing McCain out in MA. Romney also has a chance of beating McCain in AZ. There have been a lot of Mormon Politicians in AZ and religion is much less of an issue than immigration.
If Romney is within 9 point in AZ of McCain and there is still a large undecided vote. McCain is in trouble. |
|
Andfall,
If McStain seals the deal on Super Tuesday mathematically, Paul won't drop out because he will want to keep building his coalition.
It will be fun to see if we can get Romneyites and Paulites to join forces to embarrass McCain in later caucuses and primaries....just for the fun of it! |
|
A Washington Senator who has been there 24 years will be a disaster.
John Kerry, Bob Dole and now John McCain!! |
|
He used to be pro-gun control and wanted nothing to do with the NRA, but now he's against gun grabbers and thinks the NRA is peachy. He came across as a member of the open borders and amnesty crowd whose position wasn't much different than that of John McCain on illegal immigration -- until it became a hot political issue -- and now he's running ads that make him sound like Tom Tancredo on the subject. Then there are the Bush tax cuts, embryonic stem cell research, and the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. There have been so many flips that the flops are still running about two blocks behind, trying to catch up.
Are these shifts genuine? Are they purely for politics' sake? Is Mitt Romney a conservative or is he a squish telling us what we want to hear while planning to take 3 or 4 steps back towards the middle once he feels less pressure to pander to the base? Probably the former, but there's no way to really know the truth. Do we really want a nominee in 2008 that we have this sort of questions about?

primary demonstrates. They better find a new way of polling, when there are 30 point differences. |
|
"If Romney is within 9 point in AZ of McCain and there is still a large undecided vote. McCain is in trouble."
Arizona is winner take all....so it won't help Romney to just be close...he'd actually have to defeat the bbitch (McCain.) |
|
Can't help but notice all the reports bringing up McShame and Immigration. This is an issue he does not want to talk about because it is why Arizonans like me loathe him. We don't trust him anymore. Nice try Joe. Your poll isn't going to kill the building enthusiasm for Romney. McCain has NO enthusiasm. He's an old man with a worn out message. |
|
Town hall meeting asking questions to the Senator regarding the borders.. Well, i think he was just a little tired, maybe did not get a nap.. So he just has them escorted out. Can anyone say... Juan Hernandez.... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1073039/dont_ask_mccain

|
Why don't you address the fact that a recall was underway in AZ for McCain when 9/11 happened?...
Hmmm...
He's only ahead in his own state by 9 points and losing badly with the conservative...
Maybe they know something we don't?...
Kind of like Edwards losing his own state?...
And Romney is ahead by A LOT in MA?...
What does that tell you?... |
|
|
greatest landslide in the past two decades. Wake up people, can't you see that he will get creamed. The south and midwest will go for Obama/Hillary because the GOP/Mitt has now alienated evangelicals in large enough numbers to wreck his chances there. ( Five months of "Huck is a stupid idiot and religious bigot" has just about done the trick) As for the Northeast, Romney won't even be able to deliver Mass. He's getting creamed in every New England state except his own in the primary. He will trounced by double digits in California, and the Pacific West. Well, at least we will win Idaho, Nevada, and Utah. A vote for Mitt is a vote for Hillary. |
|
After years of maneuvering, months of campaigning, and weeks of voting, we're fewer than 48 hours from the primary season's midterm exam - which might also be the final. What better way to prepare for the test than with a Q&A session? Is it a two-man race now on the Republican side? One and a half. Mitt Romney just had his best shot to knock out John McCain. He had McCain locked in a single, closed primary where he was able to leverage paid media muscle. He had the entire conservative establishment - National Review, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and the rest of talk radio and blogdom - riding shotgun with him. And Romney still lost by five points. With Rudy Giuliani falling by the wayside, McCain will continue to gain strength. On Tuesday, there are enough winner-take-all states that McCain could be within a few hundred delegates of the nomination by the end of the night. The worst-case scenario has him with a 400-delegate lead.

McCain is tracking downward in every poll Romney is tracking upward in every poll
The 30 point loss in Maine for McCain after 2 Senatorial endorsements is huge.
Romney surge in California -
Surprises upcoming in Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, Missouri, West Virginia, and North Dakota
True conservatism will prevail in the end. |
|
|
Keep on pasting your propaganda about Mitt, people are already figuring you out, about you tooting your Mcvain horn. kinda pathetic!!! |
|
The Field Poll (CA Berkley) has a notorious liberal bias.
The national MSM polls (Fox included) are sampling registered voters (no likely voter screen) but they are also asking about Bush approval ratings before they ask about preference for the Rep candidate and that biases the results in favor of McCain.
McCain's numbers are skewed to make him look stronger than he is.
In polls with good likely voter screens Romney is showing a powerful surge. |
|
Politco has the dope on the downfall of Romney:
But for all the glass-is-half-full optimism, many in Romney’s camp privately express frustration and resignation.
Facing the very real prospect of their candidate being out of the race by Wednesday, these aides and advisers are unhappy about several factors, only some of which they can control.

Over-whelming choice: John McCain

Cherry picking the polls? Use the RCP averages. |

...Is a disaster in the making. Why don't people care about a person's record? According to Fox news, people are going to vote for McCain because of his current commercial which is on his POW/torture. While I admire anyone in the military, that does NOT MEAN they are qualified to lead this country - and McCain is the least qualified of all! A man off the street or a private in the army would be a better, more honest choice than McCain. Newsmax devoted two issues last year on McCain - very negative. He has a violent temper, uses foul language when in disagreements with associates - so folks who want to vote for this man, how do you think a person with a hot temper will get along with other leaders; we will be overrun with illegals because McCain will enforce his amnesty and pandering politicians will go along; McCain's campaign finance bill cut off free speech during elections and on and on. He is not a good choice at all. Voting for Huck will just send votes to McCain. Why do you think Guiliani went with McCain - possible appointment in a possible presidency - what is Arnold looking for? JC |
|
The RCP averages included very dated polls and lag the Romney surge by a lot.
The only way you can get an accurate read is to take the latest polls and look at their methods and then make adjustments for bais. |
|
I truly believe this whole senario has been being planned and in the works for years. The 'enemy within'/shadow government has had a few kinks along the way, but for the most part, all is working according to plan. Mitt, ofcoarse, is a huge kink for them at this moment. Mitt is the only one who can defeat the chosen ones, Clinton/Obamma. They have managed to confuse and demoralize vast numbers of good America-loving peaple into either voting for a looser or not voting at all --hense,the plan. If this great Country is forced to bow before Queen Hitlery and her little pet, Obamma -- we are all toast. PS ---Some people say if Hillary wins, everyone will then see the light and we'll take the country back in four years. I say, we will not have a country to take back in four years -- and THAT, I believe, is the ULTIMATE PLAN.
|
|
...more pathetic spin from Hugh.
Go to realclearpolitics.com and look at the averages of all the polls in the Feb. 5 states. Only in Massachusetts, is Romney ahead!
It's laughable that Hugh is making one last pathetic attempt to convince people that Willard has a chance to get the nomination.
Let's take predictions on the next "Romney Rising" post.... |
|
McCain, meanwhile, is picking up a slew of train-leaving-the-station endorsements each day and is increasingly seen as the inevitable nominee by many party regulars.
Winning a closed primary by nearly 100,000 votes, as he did in Florida, has that effect.
And as Florida — where Romney had a sophisticated and well-planned operation in place — demonstrated, the strength of organization matters less than the wave McCain is riding — and that wave got significantly bigger after the Sunshine State primary.
So while McCain may not have any infrastructure in place in a state like Illinois, for example, he nevertheless has the air of a winner, and voters tend to reward success.

Hugh and the Romney supporters are really in serious denial here. There's no other way to describe what we are witnessing other then to say they are suffering from some sort of mental illness. Hopefully they will get some help after Tuesday when they are confronted by reality. For their sake, I sure hope Mitt doesn't try to drag it out past Tuesday or they will be in serious trouble. And if by some miracle Mitt does pull out the nomination then heaven help them after the crushing defeat Romney will surely get in November. |
|
|
Well the diehards are still cutting and pasting the propganda against Mitt. they still have to hang on t their illusions. |
|
|
I sure hope you folks are right about Romney surging thanks to immigration. McCain and Bush,as well as Graham & other Repub senators are elitist, corporate turds when it comes to the invasion. Put their employers in jail, and throw them the hell out; the phony Repub Senators that is.I'd do the same thing as the Mexicans if Canada were as dumb as the US.Now, some of them want to increase welfare payments for Muslim polygamists. Put the US Army & Navy on the borders and issue them live ammo. Impeach Bush for failure to defend the borders of the US.Call companies that move their operations out of the US what they are; foreign companies and tax & tarriff them accordingly. If Bill Gates likes India so much, let him live there.Once under and unemployed Americans can get jobs again, maybe you won't need a tax stimulus |

the game isn't over till the final tick of the clock. |
|
You mean the polls from over 2 weeks ago?...
Those polls?...
How about you don't cherry pick comments?...
How about answering all the questions posed to you?...
How about addressing the recall movement in AZ?...
How about addressing the fact that McCain is losing the Conservative vote in AZ?...
I know you're busy with the copying and pasting so anytime you can get around to answering the above would be much appreciated... |

If Romney doesn't pull it out, for me, my wife, and the friends I've talked to this weekend, Ron Paul fever is catching! I have a friend coming over today with some Ron Paul signs.
Let's send McTraitor home with a looooowwwww 3rd.
Conservatives and friends of America, defeat McTraitor!!! |

Very sad how everything is spun to the will of the puppet masters…
Clinton = puppet Obama = marionette (nicer puppet) McCain = puppet Romney = puppet Paul = clearly not a puppet Huckabee = clearly not a puppet = not beholden to anyone but "We the People"
Puppets promise change but keep polarization and gridlock for a reason. The gridlock is an excuse for keeping things as they are (i.e. puppet masters in control with big power and big money) that our countries citizens will roll their eyes to and accept. The puppet-masters control Hannity, Rush, & all of the conservative talking heads who are marginalizing Huckabee (and Paul for that matter). Ask yourself why Huckabee and Paul don’t get air-time during the debates to talk substance when McCain & Romney get to bicker back and forth for 20 minutes on nonsense…
Huckabee will take our country back to “We the People” which is a HUGE threat to the puppet masters. Huckabee wants to make government finances transparent with the Fair Tax (no more 66,000 lines of tax code that benefits who exactly?). Huckabee will build the border fence, build our military, build our infrastructure, build our economy… but the strings have to be cut in order for “We the People” to get our county back.
The media = the strings that the puppet masters use to control the puppet show. People need to wake up. Go to http://www.mikehuckabee.com and give that site 20 minutes… look at his stand on the issues or watch is videos. This man is a great communicator who will take our nation back to “We the People”

Does it matter? |

The bile! The ad hominem attacks! Good times indeed.
If anyone wants to make themselves useful, they could help figure out why Rasmussen's national polls differ so much from Gallup's. My theory is that Galup included "Republican leaners," i.e. people who won't vote in the Republican primaries but if they did, they'd support McCain. Got an email into Rasmussen to get the straight shot, though. |

From forgetting that he said he didn't remember saying he didn't know much about economics, to forgetting that he was the first to reference Iraqi benchmarks, to denying that he said he would pass the amnesty bill if it came across his desk, to refuting that he said social issues were not important ...
In his new video ad, Senator McCain also forgots that Ronald Reagan was not president when McCain was a POW.
Reagan was elected President in 1980. Reagan was a newly elect governor during McCain's captivity.
A memory lapse or correcting a mis-speak is one thing; outright lying is another.
John McCain may not know the difference, but the conservative base does. |
|
Joe, Keep going back to McCain2008.com so you can cut and past more junk. No one could stop the 2007 anti-McCain-Kennedy AMNESTY train, and you will not stop or even temper the growing enthusiasm for Mitt. McCain still won't listen to the people he represents in Arizona!! He has stabbed in the back the people that elected him as our US SENATOR. He refused to answer our questions and his staff tell Arizona voters to shut up when we ask about Amnesty. What makes you think he will listen to anyone when he is President? |

Illegal aliens murder 12 Americans daily By Joseph Farah © 2006 WorldNetDaily.com
WASHINGTON – While the military "quagmire" in Iraq was said to tip the scales of power in the U.S. midterm elections, most Americans have no idea more of their fellow citizens – men, women and children – were murdered this year by illegal aliens than the combined death toll of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan since those military campaigns began. Though no federal statistics are kept on murders or any other crimes committed by illegal aliens, a number of groups have produced estimates based on data collected from prisons, news reports and independent research.

Vote for McAmnesty
|
|
It is not honorable to conspire behind closed doors with Ted Kennedy and La Raza against the American people.
It is not honorable to try to rush an amnesty for foreign nationals illegally in our country AND their employers through Congress without committee hearings shortcutting the normal process.
It is not honorable to have contempt for the will of the people. "I'll build the G-D fence if they want it." |

All of you McCain supporters that are drinking the MSM McCain Kool-Aid need to see what is coming. There will be hit piece after hit piece run on McCain until November. They have a lot of ammo to use against him. Why? Because McCain is a self-serving egotistical a**hole. The only redeeming principle he has is his patriotism. He is a professional politician. He has no party loyalty. He has no guiding philosophy or ideology. He has no broad-based moral foundation. He is an oportunist with a cool-guy "maverick" ego that needs to be stroked. He has proven disdain for people that have been successful in the private sector. He has proven disdain for social and religious conservatives. All of this makes for stockpiles of ammo for the MSM to paint McCain as unsuitable for the presidency. Check out this link for insight as to what the future holds. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas /us_elections/article3295472.ece

...in the big states like NY, NJ and some others. McCain has double digit leads there. What Romney surge are we talking about? Since CA is not winner take all, Romney surging to beat McCain by 1-5% means only that they will split the delegates about equally.
The problem with winning Wyoming and Maine is that they are Wyoming and Maine and not NY, NJ, FL. That's why no one else even bothered to campaign there. |
|
Conservatives can play this game too, John.
The majority of us are NOT voting for you. Under any conditions.
You can call us "maverick voters." |

Hugh, this is what my 8th grader wrote himself answering DID YOU KNOW ROMNEY WON MAINE?...Kids DO Pay Attention... Yes, I am aware and am glad that he did. He is the only true conservative still in the running that can beat either Hillary or Obama in 08. He would turn this country, and our party around. For the country, he would fix Washington, as he has commonly said. If we elect him, our economy would be saved from what is sure to be a serious recession. With the strengthened economy, he would fully fund the war and make a decisive victory. Though he was once pro-choice, his record indicates otherwise. He has always voted for the side of life. Illegal immigration would be stopped and legal immigration would be encouraged. To our party, he would bring us back to the Ronald Reagan principles that make us real conservatives, and real Americans. Our party has been spending like the liberals for a long time. Its time to become conservatives again. He is not a weak minded man and would do what is right for the country, not what is popular. His success in the private sector and the Olympics do not only show his economic genius, but how capable a leader he really is. McCain is a liberal through and through and would only send us even further (CONTINUED BELOW) |

down the wrong path. McCain Kennedy, McCain Feingold, McCain Lieberman. All of these show how much of a Dem he really is. He actually agrees with Al Gore and Global warming. Surely this weak conservative is not going to be our presidential nominee. I respect him as a POW, but his politics are far off the mark. Huckabee has no ideas of his own. He just takes bits and pieces from other candidates’ brainchildren, and combines them together for himself. He has only received the Evangelical vote and cannot really win the election in 08. Ron Paul is just a non-factor. He will definitely not win. The liberals are scared to death of Romney. If you notice, they only mention McCain on the "Elite Media". In fact, the New York Times endorsed him. Now tell me he isn't a liberal. Romney however has received real conservative endorsements from big names like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Rick Santorum. Rush Limbaugh probably should endorse him because he is obviously pro Romney. In order to keep all of this countries glory and power, we need to elect Mitt Romney as our Presidential nominee and eventually the president in 08. |

a.k.a., Syrian Hamster.
Your candidate DID campaign in the states he lost. Actually McCain lost to both Mitt and Ron Paul.
Not need to get antsy over delegate counts.
Both Mitt and Ron and McCain will be in this to the end. It's going to be a brokered convention.
That may not be a good omen for McCain, but Mitt's "maverick voters" are willing to wait it out ....

As a lifelong conservative, I wish McCain evinced a greater understanding that limited government is indispensable to individual liberty. Yet there is no candidate in either party who so thoroughly embodies the conservatism of American honor and tradition as McCain, nor any with greater moral authority to invoke it. For all his transgressions and backsliding, McCain radiates integrity and steadfastness, and if his heterodox stands have at times been infuriating, they also attest to his resolve. Time and again he has taken an unpopular stand and stuck with it, putting his career on the line when it would have been easier to go along with the crowd.
A perfect conservative he isn't. But he is courageous and steady, a man of character and high standards, a genuine hero. If "the House that Reagan Built" is to be true to its best and highest ideals, it will unite behind John McCain.

Joe, I just read the evangelical outpost story you linked to. Holy moley! The thing that jumped out at me was this bit from a linked newspaper article:
===========
Citing his business experience, he urges voters to reject “lifetime politicians” who “have never run a corner store, let alone the largest enterprise in the world.”
Mr. Romney, though, never ran a corner store or a traditional business. Instead, he excelled as a deal maker, a buyer and seller of companies, a master at the art of persuasion that he demonstrated in the talks that led to the forming of Bain Capital.
“Mitt ran a private equity firm, not a cement company,” said Eric A. Kriss, a former Bain Capital partner. “He was not a businessman in the sense of running a company,” Mr. Kriss said, adding, “He was a great presenter, a great spokesman and a great salesman.”
=======
Mitt's looting of Ampad was simply sickening. Hillary or Obama would barely have to get out of bed in the morning to slaughter Romney. He is the perfect caricature of a Country Club Republican.
If you missed the link, here it is:

Don't be surprised if "someone" shows up in "someone" else's back yard at the Super Bowl tonite ....
shhhhhhhhhh.
The surprise guest might just stroll into one of those fancy box$eat suites built with funds "raised" by John McCain.
You didn't know the Super Bowl is being held in the stadium John built?
He doesn't like info like that to get out .... probably because his wife Cindi's beer distributorship got the beer franchise for the stadium -- including a $48 million dollar bonus!
Most men would be proud of an enterprising wife. I can't understand why John hadn't bragged about Cindi's successes ....

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/01/27/as_ba in_slashed_jobs_romney_stayed_to_side/
In many cases, such as Staples Inc., the Framingham retailer, and Steel Dynamics Inc., an Indiana steelmaker, the companies expanded and added thousands of jobs. In other cases, such as Ampad and GS Industries, another steelmaker, Bain-controlled companies shuttered plants, slashed hundreds of jobs, and landed in bankruptcy.
But in almost all cases Bain Capital made money. In fact, the firm earned substantially more from Ampad than Staples. Staples returned about $13 million on a $2 million investment; Ampad yielded more than $100 million on $5 million, according to reports to investors.
"It's not that employment grows, it's that their investment grows," said Howard Anderson, a professor at MIT's Sloan School of Management.

I'll bet these stories are everywhere. The general election campaign against Mitt practically writes itself. Far from being strong on economic issues, Mitt would be a catastrophe in the general election in the middle of a recession. |

In Arizona, we conservatives are being blasted by our party elites. Some have implied that we're like Jihadis and suicide bombers because its becoming pretty clear to them we won't vote for McCain in November. They try to convince us that we're committing political suicide by not voting for him; that staying home gives Clinton or Obama the White House.
They are not convincing us. If McCain is the nominee we're simply going to implement a tactical retreat. Not political suicide.
The economy is jittery enough as it is. It won't take much to knock it into recession or depression. McCain has made it clear he'll implement the same idiotic democrat policies that Obama or Clinton would, thus ensuring a severe economic downturn.
If McCain is elected, just as they did after Hoover and the Great Depression, Americans will hold Republicans responsible for decades to come. Liberals will solidify their lock on government control for years. They will run and quite possibly loose the war.
We simply think it is better to take the hit now and let the Democrat party be responsible for democrat inspired disasters. Why should we let McCain pin it on us?
We know him better than anyone else in the country. We know he will be a disaster of Titanic proportions if he wins the White House. We simply will not forfeit decades to liberals just to put demonrat-lite in the White House for four years.
Remember everyone, a vote for Hillary is two votes against McCain.

Even by me, and I am definitely not a Mitt Man.
But the only winning you may see is the Patriots today (and I hope that is not the case either). Enjoy your Sunday (maybe) because Tuesday will suck.
Strangely enough, even HNAV is supporting the Giants. We have two things in common: We want the Giants to win and Hillary to lose (we just differ on the means on the second thing). |
|
None of which would have been possible without a collapse in Rudy Giuliani’s support, which was as widely unpredicted as his earlier rise to the top of the polls. Or without the collapse of the candidacy of 2000 McCain supporter Fred Thompson, who led in polls as a noncandidate but lost the lead before he officially declared.
Even so, McCain now seems a prohibitive favorite for the Republican nomination. He leads in just about all the polls in the big states that vote on Super Tuesday, Feb. 5. Giuliani has bowed out, and Huckabee’s election night speech reiterated his respect for McCain. Romney alone has the potential to buy enough ads and possibly derail McCain this week. But big-time buys did not win for him in Iowa, New Hampshire or Florida.

Angry John told Romney (paraphrased) 'I have the endorsement of Both of Your hometown papers and I Guarentee the AZ Republic will be endorsing Me, my friend...heh-heh-heh'
I wonder if he had Any Idea THIS line might prove to the Beginning of The End for the MSM's influence on Voters, as well as the breakdown of the political establishments King Making machine?
If Both AZ & MA go BIG for Mitt it will be a first step for We The People, a display of our Independence from the 'machinists' of the MSM. IF only we could break the spell the "unbiased" Electronic Media is casting on the electorate, The People might actually get a chance to voice Our overall Displeasure with the current state of affairs INSIDE DC!

Seem to be 'upset' about being saddled with an Empty-suit, Sloganizing, Inexperienced, Obama-Like Liberal Gov. & in a way they blame Romney. But not enough to vote for McCain. Mitt's loudest MA Republican opposition comes from people like the former Gov. Jane Swift - Swiftee as she is called by many - who was INEPT on Sept.11, and, later paid the price. She is backing McCain! The Irony is Dripping from That Bone!

McCain is leading in ALL of the winner take all states, and will get his lion's share of delegates up for grabs in the others. What is this Romney "surge" you speak of? It certainly can't be the latest national polls, which show Romney fading fast. I look for him to be falling out this race come Wed. I'm not sure of it yet, but it certainly looks like that is more likely that this "surge" that Hugh and other talking heads are trying to create. |

McCain is overplaying his war record like John Kerry did, "Reporting for duty!". Not cool, I don't want another election to debate vietnam :/
On another note, Here in Arizona I don't know anyone who voted for John McCain, even in Scottsdale. We spent allday yesterday handing out Mitt Flyers to registered Republicans and everyone vehemetly dislikes John McCain, and no one wants Govenor Napalitano to pick a super liberal to replace him. |

Same info we are getting in Flagstaff - I believe Arizona will embarrass John McCain
Figures he will spend the evening in Boston
He's pissed on our legs and told us it was raining for too long |

in democracy's virtual mosh pit! Even if only for a few minutes.

MY FRIENDS!
Amazing, Republicans believe NY and LA Times are champions of the right... What next, endorsement of the UN.
Juan no friend of POWS. See McCain video, he didn't want to find pow's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBiti-ZbeO0&feature=related
Juan not a “straight-talker.” McCain video on McCain http://therealmccain.com/2007/01/john_mccain_vs_john_mccain .php
Juan opposes first amendment. Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 (BCRA), popularly known as McCain-Feingold made it a "federal crime for any corporation to broadcast, shortly before an election, any communication that names a federal candidate for elected office and is targeted to the electorate." (Such as Pro-Life) (overturned in McCain v. Wisconsin Right to Life)
Juan opposes traditional marriage.
McCain voted AGAINST the Marriage Amendment 7-14-04 and again on 6-7-6
Juan no friend of the unborn.
McCain Voted AGAINST National Right to Life Issues 25% of the time in 2005-2006 18% of the time in 2003-2004 and 67% of the time in 2001-2002. He missed the vote on the Brownback Amendment #2707, it would have prohibited funding of organizations that support coercive abortion. 9-6-7.
Juan anti-family.
McCain Voted AGAINST Family Research Council and American Family Association issues 38% of the time in 2006 34% of the time in 2005 33% of the time in 2004 0% of the time in 2003 25% of the time in 2002 33% of the time in 2001
Juan is in this for himself.
John McCain DID NOT VOTE on 56.1% or 249 SENATE votes during this past congressional session. http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/m000303 /votes/missed/
Meet John McCain – His record shows he votes against Conservatives values 56.1% of the time. What will he do with a Democrat house and Senate, move right or left? What do you think? Oh, did I mention McCain-Kennedy Amnesty Bill or the McCain-Lieberman Energy Tax bill.
A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain.

It's always helpful when reading a poll to see what the pollsters actually say about their poll:
Two notes about Zogby, and both could be important. California essentially votes and awards delegates by Congressional District. You therefore could get high vote totals from California yet not actually "win" the primary. Secondly, Zogby didn't talk about Hispanic GOP voters. They could be a wild card.
Thus, from the horses's mouth:
Pollster John Zogby: “The Mac Attack appears ready to launch on Super Tuesday. McCain’s leads are commanding, except for in California where Romney leads in Southern California and among women, investors, and voters over 50. Romney holds a double digit lead there among conservatives and leads 56%-18% among very conservative voters. Romney also leads among white voters and among those who say that the war on terror and immigration are top issues.
“McCain will do well because of his big leads in the other states and because of winner-take-all states. But Romney may at least have a strong showing in California. In Missouri, Huckabee is in second place by virtue of strong support with conservative and (especially) very conservative voters.
|
|
Excellent analysis of McCain and Huckabee. I am an Arizona voter and will NOT pull the lever for McCain should he become the nominee. Just like a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain, and vote for McCain is a vote for the democrat nominee. I want no part it.
Mitt is a good, decent, honest man who does not deserve the garbage being hurled at him by the likes of McCain and those who support him. It's unforgivable.
If this country has to suffer through four years of Obama or Hillary, so be it. Maybe when people have suffered enough they will realize the mistake they have made. It took that to get Reagan!
I hope for Mitt a Tsunami of support from Super Tuesday all the way to November! |

Can we instead blame you if the GOP nominates Plastic Man, and, as is probable, he either gets defeated in a landslide or, should he miraculously win the general, governs as the RINO that he's been his entire life?

I will not support a McCain presidency. This article is right on target. I am one of the 5% to 10% who will not vote for McCain; ever. I believe that a McCain presidency will doom our party worse than 4 years with a democrat in control. If he picks Huckabee, which is possible but not likely, then is he the nominee in 4 years?! I don't think so.
I really believe that Huckabee is staying in because he is an anti-mormon bigot, and will not rest until he has destroyed Romney's chances at an effective comeback. Don't forget he was the keynote speaker at a convention designed to destroy the mormon faith and convert as many Utah mormons as possible. (A totally ineffective campaign, but an indicator of what Huckabee really thinks about Romney's faith.)
I personally believe that religion has no place in politics, but when it is introduced, as Huckabee has done, then a serious look as his religious actions are in order. He is not the answer for anyone but McCain. Remember how in the last debate McCain deferred to Huckabee about negative campaigning?! Trying to compare contrast ads and his outright lying as one and the same?! He is a ridiculous, mean-spirited,angry man and the supposed pious baptist preacher agrees with him. Politically, they are the same.
