As you probably know, Barack Obama and John McCain will be convening at Rick Warren's church tonight for a forum on faith and politics.
Before it begins and I start live blogging, I'd like to offer this piece of essential reading. It's a Chicago Tribune story about McCain leading a POW riot against his captors in order to hold a Sunday church service.
A friend also tells me he'd LOVE to see Warren ask Obama why he voted against a bill to protect infants born alive during abortion as a Illinois state senator.
I don't expect Pastor Warren to ask any of these, but it would be really great if someone would sometime before November 4th.
Stay tuned, I'll be here keeping tabs on the festivities. Would love to have you guys leave your thoughts in the comments if you're watching, too!

Ann Lewis called him "post-modern, nuanced, thoughtful."
I say he is just boring, annoying and blathering. I guess I'm just not poster-modern, nuanced or thoughtful. |
|
I just watched Mack. I have been pretty much a nose-holder-voter for Mack until now. I have to say this show-cased him as a delightful, clear, direct, sincere, decisive American.
I'm glad I watched. I will vote for him with more enthusiam. It was the perfect venue for JohnnyM.
I will see if I can catch a re-run of Obama.

my thoughts exactly!
Yeah, I heard some people had to pay for tickets,...I wonder if there were any "scapelers"? Ha.
OTOH, who'd be dumb enough to pay for that agitprop? |
|
But I plan to watch it when it reairs, and I don't expect any of those questions to be asked.
I'm sure it will be a waste of time.
I'd like to know who made Rick Warren my leader? Why? Because he wrote a best-selling book? I also heard that people were being charged $500-2000 to attend this... is that true? |
|
Oh well. Amanda Carpenter's run-down was pretty blah.
I'm sure a bunch of us will soon come up with a bunch of pointed questions WE would have asked.
Warren is into "holy entertainment" and growing the megachurch. Fabulous marketeer and businessman. I'll give him that.
This is great PR coup for hWarren (he's on the cover of Time this week). For the voter? Apparently not so much. |
|
why Fox would EVEN broadcast such "scripted garbage". I hope that 2 hours is a "lose lose" for them. I'm about ready to "upchuck", it's so sickeningly phony.
And a preacher?...Of all people?
He sure isn't my idea of a true "man of the cloth". |
|
I turned it off,....it's nothing but a liberal "love fest".....Much ado about nothing.
It's too bad that both skunks couldn't be held accountable in a REAL Townhall debate, together, with real working people asking the questions, instead of a preacher asking softball questions.
But we both know that'll never happen either.
That's the way politics is in this "friggin country" anymore,....nobody wants to ask the questions, much less, answer them. |
|
|
When Warren gushed about how both candidates are good personal friends. What else would you expect when two candidates representing the same United Establishment Party "debate". What a joke. |
|
|
Good Questions. Too bad they won't be asked. |
|
|
|
Although I'll watch it, I'd bet it will be nothing but a "warm n fuzzy" softball question session, with nothing of substance!
Question: Why are you two "hell bent" on giving 12 million criminals amnesty, knowing almost 80% of Americans are against it?
Question: Why do you morons support "cap and trade", when science has NOT proven MMGW?
That would be a good start,...among other things. |
