Blackwell Compares Bush's "Big Government Activism" to Hoover
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 6:51 PM
During the RNC debate today, Ken Blackwell (whom I am supporting) scored a big applause line when he compared Bush's "big government activist" policies to Hoover.  This, of course, will be controversial...

Nah...
Hoover, at least, had far less of the weight of history behind him and a Federal government that was just getting its feet wet in activism and progressivism.

Bush should have known better.

Blackwell RULES!
He is right about "Big Government Activism" it does not work and we will see this again when Obama takes over and spends $1T on projects that will create temporary jobs and do nothing to boost the economy long term.

Royinoslo - Bush as freed over 50mm people and there has not been an attack on US soil since 9/11! I guess you support Saddam’s executions without juries and sending people to rape and torture rooms?

Lola C. - hahahahahahahah - must be fun living in your dorm room all alone with your head up your a-s! Funny you are bitter about Bush's big victory in Ohio in 2004, yet do not seem to care about Franken's obviously stolen election win. I think it is about time you change your name again - Kimberly/Giselle/Window Cleaner, etc.

Blackwell conservative pawn
just after the elections a cabal of social conservtatives decided that Blackwel would be their man for running the party.

Brent Bozell of MRC, Tony Perkins, and James Dobson areall in the tank for Blackwell and wrote a letter of support that came out sunday.

Frankly I do not think we need a social conservative zealot running the GOP.

Aside from his litmus tested ideology all Blackwell want to do is replicate Howard Dean's 50 state strategy-uh-guys? its 2009 that's an old strategy and the dems are moving onto the next phase. Do we really want to play catch up?

Blackwell has no new ideas for the party but the right socialconservative pedigree. Typical.

Value-less voters
It's telling that a president responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis who would otherwise be living today if not for some regretable wrong "intelligence" doesn't warrant a mention. Instead Bush is whacked for responding to economic issues.

"Values voters", pro-life... argh! No wonder I keep losing my hair. And no wonder people with authentic human values are drifting left.

Pathetic
The real problem is that not one candidate would name Bush as the worst Republican president. At least Blackwell had the cojones to name Hoover as his least liked Republican and then link Bush to Hoover.

Until the Republicans throw Bush under the bus they can expect to be defeated over and over again. Bush was the epitome of Big Government Republicanism surpassing even Hoover and Teddy Roosevelt.

No one will take any Republican seriously who says that he's in favor of limited government and the free market and then says that Bush was a great or near-great president. It shows him to be either a fool or a liar and neither will get him elected.

The Republican Party is hopeless, it needs to go.

hmmmm
i think i agree with Mr.Blackwell.

Big Government
While I agree somewhat with Ken Blackwell we have to face the fact that "we ain't seen nothing yet".

Obama's plan to "create" 3 million jobs, 80 % in the private sector means a proposed increase in fed jobs of 600,000.

More pigs at the trough.
