McCain Will Attend CPAC

McCain will be there this year after spurning conservative activists last year. He was the only presidential candidate to do so and paid for it with a round of boos.
When CPAC rolls around, Feb. 5 will have told us much more about the state of the presidential race. If he's coming out of the tsunami a winner, he'll have to use the CPAC pulpit to preach some serious conservative conversion. Or, at least communicate that his disdain for border security and tax cuts have decreased dramatically, and his "Maverick" sensibilities won't turn him into the best friend of a Democratic Congress.
Perhaps the McCain of the "Gang of Fourteen" and hiring Juan Hernandez could allude to the John McCain of the past. The John McCain who was introduced by Ronald Reagan himself at the first CPAC, in the first paragraph of Reagan's "City Upon a Hill:"
There are three men here tonight I am very proud to introduce. It was a year ago this coming February when this country had its spirits lifted as they have never been lifted in many years. This happened when planes began landing on American soil and in the Philippines, bringing back men who had lived with honor for many miserable years in North Vietnam prisons. Three of those men are here tonight, John McCain, Bill Lawrence and Ed Martin. It is an honor to be here tonight. I am proud that you asked me and I feel more than a little humble in the presence of this distinguished company. He should have showed up last year, but maybe he can make some inroads this year. We shall see. He's gonna have to do something to help conservatives trust him on anything other than the war.

What Border Agents think of McCain "We strongly oppose any attempts to reward illegal alien lawbreakers. We have risked our lives to keep them out of this country. The slick politicians can call it ‘guest-worker' or ‘earned legalization' all they want, but it's amnesty."
"Senator McCain has never been a friend to rank-and-file Border Patrol agents," says the union. "He routinely ignores correspondence from Border Patrol agents and often gives the impression that he is just too big and too important to deal with us. He attempts to undermine our mission at every turn and actively supports the criminals who violate our laws. He always tries to downplay the fact that illegal aliens knowingly and willingly violate our laws."
"Senator, they put themselves in those ‘shadows' by breaking our laws and they need to go home. They weren't forcibly placed in the ‘shadows' by some murdering tyrant from the Middle East. They freely chose to break our laws, steal our jobs, and take advantage of our wobbly-kneed politicians who let them do it. Instead of using all that energy to fix their own corrupt country, they sneak into ours and then demand that we change our system to fit their crimes. It's pretty simple stuff . . ."
"While Bush is in office nothing will get done. That much is obvious after six years. And the current crop of prospective presidents who are posturing for a run in 2008, including our wonderful in-state non-supporter, ‘Amnesty John' McCain, will probably be worse. That should take us through 2012, when we'll be hearing the same old tired ‘get tough' political posturing over ‘securing our borders' all over again. Does anybody really think Hillary Clinton is going to be a tough, enforcement-minded leader on illegal immigration if she gets elected? Get real folks . . "

He WILL be the best friend to Senate Democrats and illegals if elected. He has expressed contempt time and time again for the Christian movement and for conservative Republicans.
His election would be a war referendum and he'd lose!.
Choose Romney to save this country and the rule of law! |

This is country is turning more and more progressive every day. Conservative rhetoric and ideology simply don't resonate with most Americans. You guys are shooting yourselves in the foot if you're going to hold McCain up to an impossible standard. If you try to force him to turn into the xenophobic tax cutter who hates gays, you're going to embarrass yourselves further. |

This is just how the Clintons do it...
A meaningless gesture to appease.
John McCain sealed the deal with my opposition to him, with his Clintonian SMEAR of an opponent in Florida.
John McCain is a Senator of 24 years whose accomplishment is limiting political speech with a disastrous Campaign Reform.
The old Keating 5 Member opposes waterboarding, voted against tax cuts, has demeaned Sec. Rumsfeld repeatedly for personal political gain, and answers questions about serious economic challenges with references of Senate Associates.
Seeing this BELTWAY Elite's snide demeaning, juvenile belittling, of an ethical American Success from the Free Market has been regretful.
Soon two aged Senators, with little accomplishment, employing vivid deceit, having an overt liberal embrace, pushing global warming populism, who vote against tax cuts, and are endorsed by the NY Times, will be seeking the most important office we have in Our Nation.
Two Celebrity Senators of John McCain's self described Washington 'Failure'...
Embarrassing symbols of the Beltway Washington Elite for decades...
2 life long Politicians who have never had any serious, personal, CEO Experience...
Both with serious unethical skeletons in the closet (Keating 5 - WhiteWater, TravelGate, etc.)
Two Egotists favored by the MSM ! Neither are optimistic...
John McCain has stated repeatedly we need to embrace failure, be straight!
Neither of these two are positive, pleasant, charming, or even funny...
The polls suggest Americans are not happy with those in the Capital, yet they (led by your efforts) are encouraging the same dysfunctional incompetence.
I believe in personal responsibility, and it seems we are destined to get what we deserve.
Senator McCain ? The fool who said we "wasted" Our Bravest's Lives on David Letterman?
Senator Clinton ? The liar who wants to take things away from us?
What a fine comedy of errors...

When I heard McCain's Hispanic Outreach guy was none other than Smiling Juan Hernandez, I knew John McCain has heard nothing we have had to say.
Smiling Juan Hernadez We know who he is, we know his loyalties are to Mexico, we know he wants to erase our borders and immigration laws.
JOHN MCCAIN, YOU NEED A NEW HEARING AID
Smiling Juan Hernandez In case you don't know him, he used to work for the Mexican govt., lately he has been shilling for "rights" for illegal aliens in this country. He has said he wants Mexicans to remain Mexicans even if they are living here. His loyalties are to Mexico, not U.S.
Questions for illegal alien apologists like John McCain:
Why does The National Council of the Race (la raza in spanish) and the Chamber of Commerce get to negotiate a "Comprehensive Shafting of The American Citizens" behind closed doors? Since when does an organization representing foreign nationals breaking our laws get to rewrite our immigration laws to suit the lawbreakers? Isn't this akin to allowing NAMBLA to rewrite our laws regarding child predators? Or allowing organized crime syndicates to rewrite racketeering, gambling, prostitution, and extortion laws?
We The People are being told by our representatives that we should sit down and shut up while they invite in the entire world. We The People should get some say in this matter. Another amnesty will set off a stampede like we have never seen before. There is not much time to save our country. All the money and power are on the side of shoving this amnesty down our throats. The RNC wants an amnesty candidate, don't vote for one. |
|
We DO get it!! This is why we conservatives will have to go back to square one and teach conservatism again to this generation. Remember, Goldwater and Reagan both came up short electorally (at least initially).
McCain's standard isn't impossible. No one wants him to hate anyone, but we do expect that he live up to the faith that Reagan once placed in him. Is it so hard to ask? |
|
"...but maybe he can make some inroads this year. We shall see. He's gonna have to do something to help conservatives trust him on anything other than the war."
Don't hold your breath.

We will very soon be hearing the new political language of "healing" to treat the entire political debate just like global warming: time for discussion is over. We will all be accused endlessly of being "divisive" if we don't agree with the status quo. I propose the Hillary and McCain declare that the "two" parties have officially merged. That America have, after ofter 200 years, resolved all of its differences and we don't need two parties anymore. |

I'm sorry, I just can't buy the notion that Americans aren't thoroughly acquainted with conservative ideology. The problem is, they're sick of it! Sqaure one for you guys should be a wholesale reevaluation of conservativism. Your grand experiment in dergulation, excessive militarism, exploitation of narrow issues like gays and abortion, and a general disdain for efficient governance have succeeded in convincing most Americans that you guys are all talk and no substance. |

What a joke. What is a democrat doing at the CPAC. |
|
|
... he couldn't cozy up to when it was politically expedient. |
|
Drat, I wish I could be there. Is it foolish to hope that the conservatives in attendance will stand when he is introduced and turn their backs on him for the duration of his lies. I know I would even if I were the only one. Of course, if there is Q & A, it may be a different story..ask, ask ask about Juan Hernandez, bring up his dual citizenship, being an agent of Mexico etc. Juan McCain running a dirty campaign, who knew? Well he's good buddies with Hilary. |

If a dog bites me once its the dogs fault.....if a dog bites me twice its my fault. McCain has bitten the GOP over and over. Yet, we just keep thrusting him forth as our man. If anyone thinks McCain has suddenly lost his liberal-ness....just look beside him on the camp trail & you will see Joe Liberalman. I am throwing all my support behind Romney & I hope any conservative or moderate with good sense will do the same. |
|
But we know what he has done for years:
Insult the base, trash the base, and pay lip service to the base only when it suits his needs.
|
|
|
McCain is going to CPAC to pander (and lie) to conservatives. |
|
we should embrace and believe him because he's trying to make nice, but when Romney flip-flopped (on one issue) we can't trust him and he should be rejected?
Convoluted and foolish. Romney's change was years ago, McCains and Hucks have been in the last 2 months.

The truth is there are bigots out there who simply won't vote for a mormon, even though they do worship Jesus Christ. These blogs have given me a sad education that hate, lies and bigotry are alive and well in america. If it weren't for evangelicalsformitt.com I would think that all evangelicals spent more time bashing mormons and mitt than they do teaching their own theology. The anti-mormon rants and falsehoods I have seen here have astounded me. These haters will be partially responsible for every kick in the teeth the repubs receive from McCain after the election. |
