Palin Interview Quotes
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 7:03 PM
I haven't watched the Palin interview (just getting back from a PBS taping with Jim Lehrer) but I wanted to post the some excerpts ABC News put out:

Sarah Palin on Experience:

GIBSON: But this is not just reforming a government. This is also running a government on the huge international stage in a very dangerous world. When I asked John McCain about your national security credentials, he cited the fact that you have commanded the Alaskan National Guard and that Alaska is close to Russia. Are those sufficient credentials?

PALIN: But it is about reform of government and it's about putting government back on the side of the people, and that has much to do with foreign policy and national security issues Let me speak specifically about a credential that I do bring to this table, Charlie, and that's with the energy independence that I've been working on for these years as the governor of this state that produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy, that I worked on as chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, overseeing the oil and gas development in our state to produce more for the United States.

GIBSON: I know. I'm just saying that national security is a whole lot more than energy.

PALIN: It is, but I want you to not lose sight of the fact that energy is a foundation of national security. It's that important. It's that significant.

Sarah Palin on God:

GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, "Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God." Are we fighting a holy war?

PALIN: You know, I don't know if that was my exact quote.

GIBSON: Exact words.

PALIN: But the reference there is a repeat of Abraham Lincoln's words when he said -- first, he suggested never presume to know what God's will is, and I would never presume to know God's will or to speak God's words.

But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that's a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God's side.

That's what that comment was all about, Charlie.

GIBSON: I take your point about Lincoln's words, but you went on and said, "There is a plan and it is God's plan."

PALIN: I believe that there is a plan for this world and that plan for this world is for good. I believe that there is great hope and great potential for every country to be able to live and be protected with inalienable rights that I believe are God-given, Charlie, and I believe that those are the rights to life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

That, in my world view, is a grand -- the grand plan.

GIBSON: But then are you sending your son on a task that is from God?

PALIN: I don't know if the task is from God, Charlie. What I know is that my son has made a decision. I am so proud of his independent and strong decision he has made, what he decided to do and serving for the right reasons and serving something greater than himself and not choosing a real easy path where he could be more comfortable and certainly safer.

Sarah Palin on 'the Bush Doctrine':
PALIN: Charlie, if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against American people, we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend.

Sarah Palin on Iran and Israel:

PALIN: I believe that under the leadership of Ahmadinejad, nuclear weapons in the hands of his government are extremely dangerous to everyone on this globe, yes.

GIBSON: So what should we do about a nuclear Iran?

PALIN: We have got to make sure that these weapons of mass destruction, that nuclear weapons are not given to those hands of Ahmadinejad, not that he would use them, but that he would allow terrorists to be able to use them.So we have got to put the pressure on Iran.

GIBSON: What if Israel decided it felt threatened and needed to take out the Iranian nuclear facilities?

PALIN: Well, first, we are friends with Israel and I don't think that we should second guess the measures that Israel has to take to defend themselves and for their security.

Bush Doctrine
All the lib's keep talking about how Bush has royally screwed up the country, however, they appearantly believe it's crucial for Sarah Palin to know his doctrine!! According to them, she should FORGET his doctrine because it's been so ineffective!!! She doesn't need to embrace the Bush doctrine or any other for that matter! Maybe Charlie should have asked her what her and Mccain's doctrine will be instead of if she believes we're in a Holy war!? He just drove me nuts!! How dare him ask her several times if she felt she was ready to lead....he looked just like a father scolding his daughter for not telling the truth.

PALINS PERFORMANCE WAS EXCELLENT
Some of these questions have not been asked to Obama yet, but they asked Palin these questions, but she answered them with confidence and the with the ability to lead, and Palins performance was excellent, she has more executive experience then Obama/Biden combined, and she proved that with that interview with charlie.

Shame on ABC
Isn't it interesting how they asked Sarah a boat load of questions that they have NEVER asked Obama....and yet she didn't even HESITATE to respond and then Gibson has the audacity to suggest her response was arrogant??

Thank God for Fox News and this website!!

I wrote a song about women following their dreams and put a slide show together for Governor Sarah Palin and posted it on YouTube and noticed that someone from Huffingtonpost.com has it linked somewhere over there and I'm now getting a bunch of whiney liberals posting comments on my song calling it propaganda!!! LMAO!!!

Thought I'd post it here to see what folks think on this site...

Would love to get some feedback from folks I can relate to!!

Thanks and have a great day...

uh, what happened?
I just watched the Gibson interview and have Nightline, tomorrow's Good Morning America and tomorrow's 20/20 ready to be recorded so I can see the whole thing. Maybe she'll sound better on other issues, but I was pretty unimpressed by her answers -- and many non-answers that made her sound like every other politician out there -- to the questions. I don't expect my next-door neighbor to know about NATO or the Bush Doctrine, but why shouldn't I expect it from my political leaders? For the privilege of "leading" me, they should also bear a responsibility for learning more than me about these issues. I didn't see it. Disappointing. Very disappointing.

Ground Control to Maj. Tom: Don't Land!
http://atrueobamanation.blogspot.com/2008/09/boy-georges-di sco-hymn-to-obama.html

Dirty Harry's Place had the best comment with:

I was sure this would end with, “I’m John McCain and I approved this ad.”

http://dirtyharrysplace.com/?p=4358
(read them all for a laugh):

Ground control to Major Tom, don’t land. You will be sorry.

Seriously, with friends like these Obama is doomed.

Palin did great
Go Sarah, Go! Looking forward to the follow up interviews. Sarah can talk the talk AND walk the walk. John McCain is a brilliant man for picking her for his VP candidate--and I can't wait to see the smile on his face when he wins this election.

As I stated in a different post, I think us conservatives need to turn Paris Hilton's "wrinkly white-haired guy" statement to the positive. How many of us have a grandfather, or a father, or an uncle, whom we respect greatly, and is also wrinkly and white haired?

Anybody up for churning out bumper stickers and/or signs? If so, I'm buying.

No Win Situation
This was a no-win situation, and set up intentionally to be so. If she talked tough, the the entire media and leftist chattering class would be all over her as a "dangerous warmonger". If she didn't talk tough, she would be a mousy wimp. The perfect "gotcha", just what we've come to expect from the media.

Sarah Palin decided to talk tough - good for her! Should she ever find herself in the Oval Office, I would rather that the Russians, Iranians, and other potential adversaries were frightened of her than not. Some people can't understand that or accept it, but that is how the real, dangerous world works.

I will be looking forward to hearing Obama answer the same questions. It is about time that he had to answer some tough questions.

-----He has no power. He doesn't command any troops. He has nothing to do with nukes. He's just a administrator.......some hairy dirty hippie girl-----

The idiocy of you liberal lemmings knows no bounds. The mullahs praised Ahmadinejad for his work in expediting Iran's nuclear infrastructure. Ahmadinejad appointed the head of the Revolutionary Guard and Qud's Forces. The commanders answer to him. Ahmadinejad meets with his proxies in Syria giving them marching orders.

You stupid liberals really know nothing. Just thank a Conservative for working hard so that you could receive a welfare check.

........
Gibson asked Palin if she feels she has the experience and qualifications to be VP and President if it were to come to that. She said Yes, which I agree. Then this leftist apparatchik had the nerve to say "doesn't that take hubris?" No moron, it doesn't when you've been a mayor and are a governor. What takes hubris is for a community organizer that supports infanticide to think he's anywhere near qualified to be President.

But we know Gibson and the other leftist stooges would never ask obama that question. After all, they know the answer which is why they're covering for him by asking tough questions like how many free throws can he make in a row. Undoubtedly less than Palin.

I am so tired
of people saying Ahmadinejad is the leader of Iran.

He has no power. He doesn't command any troops. He has nothing to do with nukes. He's just a administrator.

The leader of the Iran is...The Supreme Leader. I know the title makes it ambiguous, but come on, do a little homework...

Andrew Sullivan Reports:
Andrew Sullivan reports (you decide):

I just read it. I'm not sure how to respond because I believe the entire last two weeks have been a farce, and ABC News is now an integral, enabling part of that farce. It's also unfair to judge a partial interview, because Gibson has so far asked no questions about her record as governor or mayor, and none of the tough questions that a press conference would ask. Maybe that is to come. So I will reserve judgment until I'm able to watch and read the entire interview. All I have learned thus far is that a McCain administration would be prepared to go to war with Russia over Georgia and will never, ever criticize or oppose any decision made by the government of the state of Israel. And I knew that already.

Sounds like Sarah Palin just batted the series. With a grand slam too.

Oh yeah, according to Excitable Andrew, John McCain is a shameless liar too. Takes one to know one I guess.

Palin poised and decisive
Palin was poised and decisive in her answers. I especially liked her answer to the question of readiness for the presidency. I think Gibson was a little shocked at her resounding 'Yes'. She didn't mince words, she wasn't intimidated by Gibson. She looked very (vice) presidential to me!
Charles Wesley writes: Thursday, September, 11, 2008 7:59 PM
What would Obama do?
Are we to assume that the Democratic ticket would allow Russia to consume any country it wished to? Are we not part of NATO to achieve a mutual degree of security? Under the Democrats will we balk at our treaties when things get scary?

Obama doesn't even know how to load a gun let alone aim it at anything. Palin understands exactly what a weapon does to an animal and will not use armed force recklessly. By that same token I think she also knows the value of the threat of armed conflict and the need to protect the innocent from being subject to it. If Obama had his way Saddam would still be gassing babies and his boys raping at will. Would he write off Georgia and the Ukraine too?

Shine, Sarah, Shine
I don't recall Senator Biden having to answer such "in depth" questions about national security. In fact, Obama just recently had to in his interview w/ Bill O'Reiley..proving yet again, that Governor Palin is being compared to a presidential candidate...and doing rather nicely! I love how she keeps calling him Charlie...probably puts him off guard a little!!

Flem, you're an idiot.
Of course he has rehearsed. Her answers were crisp and articulate. Barack NEEDS to rehearse a bit more. I couldn't be more tired of Barack and his stuttering and "ummm" and "well" and "look". I can't believe the "smarties" on the left that put up with it. Sarah Palin is good... no, she is awesome! John McCain did good.

Radical Christianist Sarah Palin
Apparently the buzz is Sarah Palin does just fine in her first Charlie Gibson interview Except for one gaffe. Charlie Gibson quotes Gov. Palin’s words, but inaccurately, and the quote just happens to be from our first gay* president, Abraham Lincoln. http://ace.mu.nu/archives/273244.php
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/11/open-thread-palin-on- abc/

I assume tomorrow from Andrew Sullivan will be Sarah Palin is a dangerous Christianist because she quoted a notoriously gay (but in the closet and self hating) anti-states right athiest hypocrite racist radical.

Another reason why John McCain is evil and unfit to be President.
