The Blagojevich Sinkhole
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 9:05 AM
The scale of the Blagojevich scandals should begin to become apparent today, as MSM grasps how deep the corruption is in Chicago, and to estimate how far-ranging it must be within the political elites of Illinois.

Then they will figure out that the president-elect has many senior aides and advisors who are deeply embedded in those Chicago elites.  Perhaps all of the president-elect's aides and advisors from Chicago will be completely clean of associations with Blago.  But that is is a conclusion no one can reach now or anytime soon.

The key questions for the president-elect, as I said last night on Hannity & Colmes, are two:

Will he (and Attorney General-designate Holder in his confirmation hearings) commit to allowing U.S. Attorney Fitzgerald to pursue the investigation as far and as deep and for as long as necessary?

And will the new president commit to firing immediately anyone in his Administration implicated in any of the ripples flowing out of the Blagojevich scandals?

The must-reads on the scandal going forward:

John Kass
Lynn Sweet
Jake Tapper

If you were going to leak something, it would be to one of these three.

Blagojevich "Sinkhole" Sillygisms

These ridiculous comments would be funny if the country were not in such bleak condition as has been caused by 8 years of the dumbest President in our country's history and his followers...ones obvious and evident among the intellectually handicapped members of this blog's gene pool.

But it is not funny.

Blagojevich is right out of the middle of that Cook County cesspool that creates some of the worst and occasionally some of the best Congressional representatives in our history. By Congress I mean to include the Senate. We could start with Lincoln, go to the Stevensons, 3 of them, advance to Dirksen and Chuck Percy and include Senator Richard Durbin.

As for the current Republicans in general, let's start with former Congressional Medal of Honor winner, Randy "Duke" Cunningham, who made millions by shorting the military, putting his "fellow" pilots in danger with defective military parts. A wonderful man. Then there is that gruesome twosome Abramoff and DeLay. Abramoff, the student of DeLay outcrooking the master, cheating the Native Americans out of $60 million or so and handing off some of that pocket-change to his pals, Ralph Reed, the holier-than-thou pencil-neck from Georgia and the Himmler look-alike Grover Norquist...each got something like $5 million in donations, I think. (Those of you following them around like bloodhounds sniffing fire hydrants might recall the exact amounts.)

Of course there is Cheney enriching Halliburton by $12 billion dollars while Halliburton was electrocuting our own soldiers in their showers!

I AGREE!!!!!!

that the Dems win "hands down" as the more corrupt party......
Vampire's Reflection writes: Wednesday, December, 10, 2008 11:40 AM
Wrong angle
The Republicans have always had the wrong angle when it comes to corruption. Mostly that angle has been tit-for-tat, who's more corrupt.

Hands down Democrats win that contest without even debate.

What is the right angle?

The right angle is who does corruption better. And in that department the Democrats wipe Republicans.

Name one city that Republican corruption owns. The list of machine politics cities that the Democrats own is longer than both of your arms. This dates back all the way to Harry Truman, FDR and the Kennedy family.

The question isn't whether Blago is going to take down Obama. The question is whether Blago is going to take down Daly.

The answer to that is "not in a million years." Because the Democrats know how to do corruption. Those who do not do corruption correclty, like Blago and Trafficant, get shoved under the bus.

You may be asking yourself, "how did the Democrats survive all these years without leadership." The answer is not blowing in the wind. It is right in your face. Machine politics has always been the mainstay of the Democratic party, not ideology. Republicans play right into Democrats hands when all they do 24/7 on talk radio is scream ideology about communism and socialism.

And here is the real irony. The Republican party at its core is not a machine with ideology being an after thought. As a consequence the Republicans may not survive the next 10 years.

If Republicans really wanted to hurt the Democrats they would go after them for being mafiosa and not communists and solicialists.

Social programs are about buying votes, not socialism. If Republicans could ever learn that lesson and shift gears, the party may be able to amount to something someday. Until then it will always be viewed as movie critic who every once in awhile gets to make a movie.

HEY, you all...........
……This current situation (Illinois Governor’s arrest) is just a “distraction”! An irritating “distraction”, planned and executed by the “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy”, to “distract” from the messianic message (hope and change) of “The One”.

It should be noted that the only prevailing difficulty that can be discerned are those dreaded chickens. Once they congregate, they begin to zealously march, since their resolve to roost at home “is” and “has always been” obsessive.

So, the final question is in regard to these fanatical, feathered creatures: what “birds of a feather will flock together”………., thus, will the roosting become a group roasting?

Problem is
the MSM will cover-up, omit, spin, and blatantly lie for their "messiah"......
Better be watching Fox News if you want the truth.....

Hang in there a while
This investigation is just beginning. There will be far more that comes out of this than any one of us can imagine right now. I can safely say that there will be more arrests and more and more names of those (even remotely) involved will start to surface in the next few weeks and months.

Fitzgerald is thorough if nothing else in his investigations.

I for one hope Blago's witch of a wife gets arrested next. I do believe that the feds are looking into many of her real estate deals of the past 5 or so years, including the Rezko/Obama land.mansion deal.

SP
Don't forget "His Highness" ALSO "didn't know" that ACORN was a thug operation when he worked for them.
hmmmm.......didn't know they strong-armed bankers into those "PC" sub-prime loans and trafficked in voter registration fraud.
Kinda like he:
didn't know he was involved neck-deep in a stinky real estate deal with felon Tony Rezko......
didn't know Rev Wright peddled hate during his 20+ years attendance at Trinity United Church....
didn't know William Ayers & Bernadine Dorhn were domestic terrorist bombers, despite all his personal dealings with these 2 sacks-o-s*h*i*t...

How many skunks have to come out of the tree line before you call it a skunk farm?????

Winners write history
The media will do everything in it's power to make it seem that Obama was never in Chicago and, even if he was, he hardly knew any of these guys. Same as his church attendance and book writing afternoons with Ayers.
