Anybody, but him, okay not Oberman either. |

Matthews or Olbermand, and a few others would kill MTP in short order. That would be tragic. How about a conservative to moderate Libertarian? |
|

...John Chancellor up to these days....? |

If they're even going to consider a partisan Democratic hack like Chris Matthews, they might as well just hire Michelle Obama to host "Meet the Press."
After all, if you're going to hire someone who "gets a tingly feeling" up one's leg after listening to an Obamessiah speech, it might as well be Barack's spouse, rather than a loud-mouthed 60 year old chubby guy from Philadelphia who eats too many cheesesteaks and drinks Bloody Marys for breakfast ! |

MTP would lose all credibility and that would be an insult to Tim's memory. Chris Matthews doesn't even belong on the set. And Chuck Todd?? C'mon they can do better than that. If not Andrea Mitchell or Tom Brokaw, I say look somewhere outside the family. I think this is a sign of how shallow their talent pool is. Which explains why MSNBC was somewhere like #27 in the ratings last week. |

Kimberly,
Get a life, sweetie---I was mocking Chris Matthews, not Michelle Obama.
If anything, I was recommending Michelle for a job.
By the way, Kimberly, I saw a "now hiring" sign when I drove past McDonald's on Sunset Blvd---would you like me to recommend you for that job ? It's not "Meet the Press," but we could call it, "Meet the Fryer" ! |

He can't hold a candle to Russert. Chris can't keep his views to himself during an interview the way Russert could. It would be an "attack the GOP" festival if Matthews took over.
The media is out of control with their openly campaigning for certain candidates. Media is supposed to be unbiased and present us with information to allow an informed decision.
Journalism is failing America and has been for years. Journalists are rewriting history instead of recording it happened in truth. They are leaking sensitive information and have no sense of honor and integrity in their reporting like back in the World War era. Reporting was unbiased, honest, and reporters were proud of our country and our soldiers.
Today it is Smear Fest 2000 and it is repulsive.
God Rest Mr. Russert. It is a great loss for journalism and the media and it will be damn near impossible to even find a close replacement. He's a true legend. |

is kind of interesting. He is much smoother now than he was at the beginning of the primaries. He has "grown" in the job.
He also really does seem to know what he's supposed to be talking about ... he is a political director who knows the politics on both sides. Not that he isn't as much in the tank for Obama as the rest of NBC; but when he gives his reports, he can control his emotions and not swoon when Obama wins something or goes up in a poll somewhere.
Andrea Mitchell? Do we have to break ground here? Can't we just put someone on the set to keep the seat warm until somebody, someplace arises who is truly a journalist and really fair and perhaps -- for a change -- not a former member of a Democratic administration? |

to get all that spit on Tim's table. |
