I dunno. McCain-Portman just doesn't have the best ring to it.

McCain-Sanford definitely sounds smoother.

McCain/Grahamnesty
Lindsay Graham, he can tell all those American citizens who want their government to fulfill its primary responsiblity that they are bigots.

After all, if you don't want to take care of Mexico's poor, you don't want what's best for America(or at least Mexico's corrupt oligarchs).

Pawlenty more conservative than that...
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/654877/tim_pawlent y_as_vice_president.html

Pawlenty is also a lot more conservative on dealing with illegal immigration than McCain. As for taxes, he seems pretty good at holding the line (although he did raise cigarrette taxes). He may be greener than some, but for a general election where enviromental issues are important the GOP had better be a little bit green (in a sane way) or they will lose (and we will get green in an insane way).

Rallying the base can also mean turning off the independents. McCain needs to walk a line of doing both. http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MjRiNGQ4MGYxYjE1Y2QxO GRiMzdkNWY1OTc4MjJjMjE=

I think Pawlenty and Sanford both do that. But I suspect he will go with Pawlenty.

Nope, Joe
His only qualification seems to be loyalty. He's not exactly conservative. He's a globaloney believer, raised taxes and incresed spending. Maybe he fits McCain's profile, but he doesn't generate any excitement at all.

I don't see it at all. There are better people that would rally the base.

Pawlenty makes more sense.
But maybe Novak is on to something.
