Frank Rich on who is to blame for a possible future terrorist attack...
Posted by: John Hanlon at 11:20 PM
Several weeks ago, on his program and his blog, Hugh Hewitt brought attention to a New York Times opinion piece by Maureen Dowd that seemed to blame Dick Cheney for future terrorist attacks in this country.

Not to be outdone by his colleague at the Times, Frank Rich penned a new opinion piece that was simply entitled "Who is to Blame for the Next Attack?" Rich bluntly wrote "If there’s another terrorist attack, it will be because the mess the Bush administration ignored in Pakistan and Afghanistan spun beyond anyone’s control well before Americans could throw the bums out."

Even after President Obama has been in office for over 100 days, some of the writers of the New York Times opinion page want to blame Bush and Cheney for possible future terrorist attacks. Neither writer seemed to specify what this window for blaming the former administration would expire in their minds. (Would Bush and Cheney be still responsible if a future attack happened in two years, five years, or a decade?) Even with a new Commander in Chief in the Oval Office, it seems that these writers are still looking to blame the Bush administration for possible attacks in the future.

If we are kept safe from attacks in the future though, I am sure that Dowd and Rich will be open to praising President Obama for keeping us safe...

'NATIONAL RIGHT TO LIFE CONDEMNS THE KILLING OF DR. GEORGE TILLER' -- Tony Perkins Responds...
Posted by: Greg Hengler at 7:54 PM

WASHINGTON – The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the nation’s largest pro-life group, today condemned the killing of Dr. George Tiller.  The following statement may be attributed to NRLC Executive Director, David N. O’Steen, Ph.D.:

National Right to Life extends its sympathies to Dr. Tiller’s family over this loss of life.

Further, the National Right to Life Committee unequivocally condemns any such acts of violence regardless of motivation.  The pro-life movement works to protect the right to life and increase respect for human life.  The unlawful use of violence is directly contrary to that goal.

The National Right to Life Committee has always been involved in peaceful, legal activities to protect human lives threatened by abortion, infanticide and euthanasia.  We always have and will continue to oppose any form of violence to fight the violence of abortion.  NRLC has had a policy of forbidding violence or illegal activity by its staff, directors, officers, affiliated state organizations and chapters.  NRLC’s sole purpose is to protect innocent human life.

NRLC will continue to work through educational and legislative activities to ensure the right to life for unborn children, people with disabilities and older people.  NRLC will continue to work for peaceful solutions to aid pregnant women and their unborn children. These solutions involve helping women and their children and do not involve violence against anyone.

The National Right to Life Committee is the nation’s largest pro-life group with affiliates in all 50 states and over 3,000 local chapters nationwide.  National Right to Life works through legislation and education to protect those threatened by abortion, infanticide, euthanasia and assisted suicide.

Tony Perkins, President of Family Research Council, had this to say:

"We are stunned at today's news. As Christians we pray and look toward the end of all violence and for the saving of souls, not the taking of human life. George Tiller was a man who we publicly sought to stop through legal and peaceful means. We strongly condemn the actions taken today by this vigilante killer and we pray for the Tiller family and for the nation that we might once again be a nation that values all human, both born and unborn."

Late-Term Abortion Provider Murdered
Posted by: Jillian Bandes at 4:43 PM
George Tiller, who performed late-term abortions and was the target of pro-life protesters throughout his career, was shot dead as he attended church this morning.

A candlelight vigil is planned in his hometown of Wichita. The National Right To Life Committee issued a statement condemning the attack.
National Right to Life Committee unequivocally condemns any such acts of violence regardless of motivation.  The pro-life movement works to protect the right to life and increase respect for human life.  The unlawful use of violence is directly contrary to that goal.

Gwen Ifill: Don't We Want The Government Micro-Managing Car Companies?
Posted by: Greg Hengler at 1:44 PM
Remember Gwen Ifill? She moderated the Vice Presidential debate in 2008 between Biden and Palin, while finishing her book titled, The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama. Many questioned whether her book was pro-Obama; this clip should eliminate any more suspicions and cement her support for massively Big Government.

Coulter To Latino Panel: My Sotomayor Answer Will Be Best Because I'm White
Posted by: Greg Hengler at 11:25 PM
Coulter was on Geraldo's FOX show today discussing the Sotomayor hub-bub with Los Angeles mayor and former leader of MEChA; an organization -- like La Raza -- that believes most of the Southwest United States needs to be returned to Mexico. Moreover, joining the Latino panel was Hollywood celebrity-activist, Rosie Perez (she starred in White Men Can't Jump, 1992), and the Bush-appointed, first Latino to serve as United States Attorney General.

I pulled the two best parts of the segment: the first one is in the title; the second one Coulter mocks the incessant mention of Sotomayor's Latin heritage. Unfortunately, for Rosie Perez, her reaction was caught on the split screen.

Denis Leary: 'Obama Is The Greatest President & He Can Do No Wrong.' Sotomayer's 'Fantastic!'
Posted by: Greg Hengler at 6:43 PM
This makes leg thrills obsolete. Hollyweird B-Lister, Denis Leary, blessed America with his political commentary on Friday night's Larry King Live (Joyless Behar guest-hosted for Larry King). Leary unapologetically praised Obama, but saved the "Amens" for his more candid celeb circles. Leary can't say enough about Hollywood's messiah: “Everything you ask me about President Obama I'm just going to say it's the greatest thing ever. I love the guy!” Here is a snippet from his appearance.

Gay Prom Queen: 'You're Wrong!' If You Think Women Are Women & Men Are Men
Posted by: Greg Hengler at 8:31 PM
As I noted in my earlier post on this issue:  "Blurring the lines of moral, gender, economic, and religious distinctions seem to be the status quo. There are no right or wrong ways to live; there is no ugly or beautiful; there should be no rich and no poor; two women or two men are just as good as a man and a woman; the list goes on." Indeed, the list goes on, and Garcia's (the prom queen) statement in the final seconds of this video says everything that needs to be said.

BTW: Why do people always have to give the, "I have a best friend who is (fill in blank)" line, whenever there is a discussion pertaining to minorities (see high school girl in video)? When the discussion is about race you can expect someone to proclaim something like this: "I'm not racist, okay; my nephew is half black." C'mon! Quit with the sissy apologies! Make your piece and get over your white guilt. Hold firm to your convictions, but do so in a loving matter. Whatever you do, stop apologizing and covering your butt before some jerk tries to tag you with a homophobic, bigot, or racist label. Grow up!

On Sotomayor: Isn't It Ironic That "Empathy" Is What She's Accused Of Lacking
Posted by: Greg Hengler at 7:21 PM
An intuitive point made by Nina Easton. Krauthammer's, "You can believe Obama or your lyin' eyes." is another classic.

Why National Health Care Should Scare You
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 4:30 PM
A friend reminded me the other day of why the scheme to nationalize health care is so frightening. I mean, we should all oppose it on principle -- but there are also self-preservation reasons, as well.

First, it is clear that countries which have socialized health care require long waiting periods for treatment -- no matter how much you are willing to pay.

This isn't an original idea, but but this scenario should make people think ...

Let's say you have cancer, and it will cost you tens of thousands of dollars for treatment. ... And you don't have insurance. This is certainly a very, very bad predicament, but it is not an impossible situation. To be sure, you might have to beg -- borrow -- or steal -- in order to be treated, but a resourceful person can find a way to come up with money. It won't be easy -- but coming up with the money is, at least, theoretically possible.

But if the government tells you that it's too expensive to treat you -- or that you're too old to be treated -- or that you're too sick to be treated -- or that you brought it upon yourself -- then where do you go?

... In a perfect world, everyone would be healthy. In a less than perfect world, everyone would at least own their own personal health care insurance account.

But it will be a truly dystopian world when government can deny or postpone health care.
