McCain on SNL
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 8:20 AM
This was pretty good, as it matched the real McCain with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. I also like the QVC angle (hey, where do I get one of those Palin 2012 shirts???)...

And here are some really good campaign strategies...

Palin Was Pranked

I think she handled it quite well. BTW, these guys have gotten lots of celebs, including Mick Jagger... (Were the Romney boys behind this one???)

Now $50K a Yr. Means You're Rich???
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 4:57 PM
CBS-4 has posted  a 2003 TV interview where Barack Obama says tax cuts should only go to “working families … that are making 50, 60, 70 thousand dollars a year”.

This comes on the heels of Bill Richardson saying Obama’s tax relief would define middle class as “$120,000 and under” -- and just days after Joe Biden defined “middle class” as $150,000. Remember, Obama’s original promise was not to raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000.

Obama's Aunt is an Illegal Alien
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 12:25 PM
Reporters thought it was strange when they discovered Barack Obama's aunt Zeituni Onyango was living in the projects, or "public housing" as they call it, out in Boston.

The woman who Obama sweetly described as "Aunt Zeituni" didn't want to talk to them even though she'd scrounged up some $260 to support Obama's campaign. It turns out, the woman who'd be left aside from the grandeur of her nephew's historic presidential campaign, has been living in the United States illegally.

The Associated Press found court documents showing Aunt Zeituni has been ordered to leave the U.S. and return to her home country of Kenya four years ago.

The campaign gave a statement to the AP said: "Senator Obama has no knowledge of her status but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed."

There you go, Aunt Zeituni! Under the bus with Obama's gramma and Rev. Wright!

There's so much that's personally and politically offensive in this story I don't know where to start. First, the millionaire Obama leaves his aunt to live in the projects. Obama became rich through his best-selling books based on his own life story. Seems like he could have at least helped the aunt who helped make that story better to tell. So much for spreading the wealth.

Second, he takes her money even though she's an illegal alien. That is against the law. His campaign can't even screen out illegal money from his FAMILY MEMBERS. This underscores what a huge problem his campaign has had in the campaign finance department.

Last, I thought deportation was  supposed to be inhuman and undoable. Wasn't that Obama's whole rationale for amnesty? He'll stick up for millions of other illegal aliens but not lift a finger to sponsor his own auntie to stay??

Cold.

CNN Conservative Special!
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 12:14 PM
I'm happy to tell you about a one-hour special that CNN will be airing called "A View from the Right."

In it, the Christian Broadcasting Network's David Brody moderates a panel with me, Former Romney Spokesman Kevin Madden, the Washington Times Political Reporter Brian Debose and the Weekly Standard's Stephen Hayes.

You can watch it on CNN today at 4pm or tomorrow at 5pm.

Our roundtable discussion examines the strength of the McCain-Palin ticket, priorities for conservatives after the election and top issues on voters’ minds, including national security and the economy.

State Employee Ordered to Check Out Joe the Plumber
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 8:45 AM
More information is coming to light regarding the illegal "Nixon-like" background checks into Joe the Plumber.  My question is:  Who ordered it???  Here's the latest...
"Vanessa Niekamp said that when she was asked to run a child-support check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher on Oct. 16, she thought it routine. A supervisor told her the man had contacted the state agency about his case.

Niekamp didn't know she just had checked on "Joe the Plumber," who was elevated the night before to presidential politics prominence as Republican John McCain's example in a debate of an average American.

The senior manager would not learn about "Joe" for another week, when she said her boss informed her and directed her to write an e-mail stating her computer check was a legitimate inquiry

The reason Niekamp said she was given for checking if there was a child-support case on Wurzelbacher does not match the reason given by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Director Helen Jones-Kelley said her agency checks people who are "thrust into the public spotlight," amid suggestions they may have come into money, to see if they owe support or are receiving undeserved public assistance.

Niekamp told The Dispatch she is unfamiliar with the practice of checking on the newly famous. "I've never done that before, I don't know of anybody in my office who does that and I don't remember anyone ever doing that," she said today.

Democrat Gov. Ted Strickland and Jones-Kelley, both supporters of Democrat Barack Obama, have denied political motives in checking on Wurzelbacher. The Toledo-area resident later endorsed McCain. State officials say any information on "Joe" is confidential and was not released."
