ABC has a poll out asking what Americans want for Christmas. The results? Christmas is pretty ordinary: pair of boots, warm coat, supersonic jet and submachine gun. They may want to keep an eye on the person who asked for the submachine gun. A day after President Obama talked about spending like its Monopoly money, Congress is set to raise the debt ceiling again.

Mark Kirk sent Sarah Palin a memo asking her to say some positive things about him. Since he has some stances that are at odds with Palin, would you have less respect for her if she endorsed Mark Kirk? Remember the story about prison inmates getting the H1N1 vaccine when it’s not available for everyone else? Well now the Gitmo detainees are getting it. Interestingly the White House says it’s not happening, and the Pentagon says that it is. A new church in Phoenix is making a little too much noise for its neighbors. Are church bells freedom of religion or disturbing the peace? Former Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan announced yesterday that he is running for governor of Illinois. ABC's remake of "V" debuted last night. The alien invasion miniseries has quite a few not-so-subtle swipes at Obamamania. What TV programs are there that will actually appeal to conservatives? CTA scare: The doors of a Red Line train closed on a stroller, dragging it to the end of the platform where a 22-month-old girl inside the stroller fell out. Thankfully the child was alright after the mishap. According to a study from the American Psychological Association, Chicagoans are increasingly stressed about work and job stability. Another school nurse vaccinated a child without the parents permission. This time it ended up sending the kid to the hospital. The GOP will finally introduce their own health care plan this week. Buried within the 1,990 pages of the democratic party's bill are at least 13 new taxes and 111 new levels of bureaucracy. The Rev. Al Sharpton's ex-wife and daughter were arrested after berating two Harlem cops who had pulled them over for allegedly running a red light to get around their slow-moving, unmarked cruiser. Dinesh D'Souza has a new book out called "Life After Death: The Evidence." He tried to convince John that there is an afterlife where he will be reunited with the limbs that he will lose to diabetes. The most controversial thing written into the health care bill may not be the death panels… buried in section 2572 is a provision that would require all fast food restaurants and vending machines to display calorie counts for all of their food.

President Obama has had Rudy Giuliani kicked out of a New York landmark. The Obama White House is offering access to White House officials in exchange for donations. Is that normal use of executive power or an abuse? Comedian Larry David is under attack from some Christians after Sunday's episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm." On the show's most recent installment, David urinates on a painting of Jesus Christ, causing a woman to believe the painting depicts Jesus crying. When you've gotta go, you've gotta go: A motorist was pulled over for going 96 mph in a 40 mph zone. He said he was speeding because he desperately needed to find a rest room. He has since been sentenced to court supervision. A Philly woman posted an ad on Craigslist offering sex for Phillies tickets. Obviously she is facing some possible jailtime, and has also lost her job. It turns out that police lose evidence all over the world. Police in northern India lost an entire corpse. They found it two years later, on the roof of the police station.

Mark Brown has a column in the Sun-Times talking about the fact that high schools in Chicago used to make students swim naked in gym class. How was it ever acceptable to make students swim naked? President Obama spoke in Berlin when he was running for President, and he made a quick stop in Copenhagen to try to win the Olympics for Chicago, but he will not take the time to go to Berlin for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. Michael Barone, senior political analyst with the Washington Examiner thinks that it is because Obama's presidency doesn't quite match up with the rhetoric of his campaign speech there.

The Chicago Tribune has a story that shows just how bad the economy has gotten. Some people are now living in storage units. A storage unit is far cheaper than the average apartment. Aren't there rules against living in a storage unit? Would you look the other way? Moments in Racial Insensitivity: ESPN broadcaster Bob Griese has been suspended one week for a remark he made about NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya. The White House war against Fox News continues. Senior White House advisor Valerie Jarrett was on CNN and had nothing good to say about Fox News. Surprisingly CNN's Campbell Brown stood up for Fox.
