Last night at West Point President Obama unveiled his new strategy for Afghanistan. Obama is calling for 30,000 more troops, and withdrawal of US troops by July of 2011. Do you feel more optimistic after the speech? The mother of a soldier in Iraq sent him a letter. It was returned with a stamp reading “DECEASED.” He’s not dead, so of course she’s suing the post office and the government. Does she have a case?

The latest national edition of the Washington Times features a full-page ad that claims that President Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States. Some are claiming that the ad is racist. What do you think? A 55-year-old man who police say accidentally shot himself to death while trying to change a tire died a day before he was to stand trial on child molestation and sodomy charges. Congress is launching a probe on the White House party crashers from last week. Lynn Sweet the Washington Bureau Chief for the Chicago Sun-Times joined John to talk about the latest in the story.

The White House party crasher story gets stranger by the day. Michaele and Tareq Salahi have even been asked to testify in front of Congress about how they were able to get into last weeks state dinner. Former Chicago Alderman Burt Natarus will be performing in the play Love Letters this Sunday at 5pm at Zanies on Wells Street. Unions may use some of their pension money to finance the Chicago Spire project.

A Chicago man used a hammer to leave a path of destruction at a Target store in Winona, Minnesota. He smashed much of the equipment in the electronics section, and even took a few swings at police officers before they tased him. President Obama will speak to troops at West Point tonight and unveil his new strategy for Afghanistan. John talked to Todd Starnes from Fox News Radio about what we can expect the President to say. Gun of The Day: An Oregon man shot and injured a person who was trying to break into his apartment. Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin posted a letter from a 95 year old man calling Obama “son” on her Facebook page. Was it racist or just being folksy? Maurice Clemmons was killed by police this morning, but he may come back to haunt Mike Huckabee. Huckabee commuted Clemons sentence when he was governor of Arkansas. John talked about the latest in the Tiger Woods story with Nick Ragone from Ketchum PR. So far Woods has botched the PR aspect of his car accident. City leaders in Wheaton have been starting off their city council meetings with a prayer. Not everyone likes the idea. John talked to Annie Laurie Gaylor from the Freedom From Religion Foundation, which is opposing the prayer.

With the poor economy, more and more people are on food stamps these days. But apparently food stamps have lost their stigma and are actually becoming popular. Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident over the weekend. Some reports are saying the accident was caused by his wife who was chasing after his car after an argument over an alleged affair. John got the latest on the store from Eben Brown with Fox News Radio. A couple in Atlanta left their kids in a shopping cart — a 9 year old and a 9 MONTH old — while they ran off to snag some bargains. Was that bad parenting or Wal-Mart employees overreacting?

President Obama’s state dinner for the Prime Minister of India had two party crashers. Don’t you like to think it would actually be more difficult than that to get near the President? Once again Sarah Palin has failed to finish what she started. The former Alaska Governor was running in the 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving in Washington state but did not finish the race.

Facebook caused a Canadian woman to lose her monthly sick-leave benefits she was receiving for depression. Her insurance company said that Facebook photos of the woman on a beach and at her birthday party proved that she was no longer suffering from the disease. A man whose 95-year prison sentence was commuted by then Gov. Mike Huckabee was being sought over the weekend as a "person of interest" in a deadly ambush on four police officers who were gunned down inside a coffee shop. Do you think that could hurt Huckabee's chances in 2012?

A Kent County Michigan employee is suspended after mentioning Columbine, Virginia Tech and Fort Hood associated with budget cuts. Is it free speech or a threat against the county commissioners? The president of the Chicago Police Sergeants’ Association was charged Friday with using his fellow sergeants’ union dues as his own personal piggybank. He stole more than $600,000 that he spent on a home, gambling trips, steak dinners and an online stock broker. It turns out that the treasurer of the association was his wife. Alexi Giannoulias claims that he is getting NSC briefings. The Republicans are not, and are none too pleased about it. They've sent a letter to President Obama complaining about it. Peter Roskam joined John and Cisco to talk about the story, he is one of the co-signers of the letter.

The Senate health care bill made it over its first hurdle Saturday night. It passed a procedural vote 60-39. Does that mean the bill itself will pass? For months we've heard that talk of "death panels" in the new health care bill was crazy, but Cisco thinks that last night on 60 Minutes they were trying to convince people that dying sooner is the best policy.
