Boys Slap a Butt, Go to Jail
Dennis Prager
Prager H3: Two young teens slapped a girl on the butt and got thrown in jail. The DA is prosecuting them as sex criminals. This is a Duke Lacrosse style case. If anything it's worse.

The prosecutorial abuse of power
Thank you Dennis for your radio broadcast regarding this shocking and saddening example of a "left" curve left (as yet) unadmonished. This type of prosecutorial abuse takes place on almost a daily basis in America (the land of the free and the nation of liberty and justice for all). IT TRULY SADDENS Me . . . but your exposing this travesty for what it is . . IS HELPING . . . keep it up. And PLEASE let's start some form of financial collection for these families and expose this gross injustice for what it is .. . a travesty of justice and a mindless practice of "law" without consequence or thought (a pragmatic pratice) . . . a reminder of Lincoln's statement regarding a true test of a man's character, "power" NOT adversity. Mr. Berry is intoxicated on power and impaired with the left wing politics of his position. God save political correctness.

Why the over reaction
When I went to school the slaps on a female's butt would have earned time in detention (jug as we called it) or most probably a quicker attention getter, a butt dusting by a coaches paddle. We would shake hands, say Thank You and it would be over with and life would go on. Those days are gone. Now my daughter, who teaches 6th grade, has to provide a legal form to each student signed by them and their parents as to how, what, and why her displine policy will be enforced. If not follwoed to the letter (except in the easing of displine on the student) a parent teacher supervisor meeting occurs. No wonder school officials are so frustrated and education in todays schools is so mediocre. But society, and I am afraid these kids are finding that out, is getting what it wants, a totally legalistic code of disipline in schools which takes reason, compassion, exception and authority from the system. Teachers and schools now a days have all the responsiblity they can take and no authority to do what is needed. Having taught for 6 years in junior high, I suspect that there other issues that are at work besides the butt slap with these students, I am not saying the punishment fits the action, but as I used to tell my 4 kids when they came home with unjust persection tales...."Well, this is for the times you didn't get caught."

Oregon "butt slapping" incident
Dennis, Bless you again for communicating clearly and speaking out on this incident. Without your bringing this up on your program, we would probably have never known about the way this district attorney is mis-using his "power" and putting these boys through unnecessary trauma that will impact them and their families for life. I am a retired teacher and KNOW that schools ARE able to discipline their young students in a responsible, caring, and wise way -- NOT by this overzealous, criminal response. In my opinion, adults who mis-use their "power" are the ones who are acting in a criminal manner.
