A Kent County Michigan employee is suspended after mentioning Columbine, Virginia Tech and Fort Hood associated with budget cuts. Is it free speech or a threat against the county commissioners? The president of the Chicago Police Sergeants’ Association was charged Friday with using his fellow sergeants’ union dues as his own personal piggybank. He stole more than $600,000 that he spent on a home, gambling trips, steak dinners and an online stock broker. It turns out that the treasurer of the association was his wife. Alexi Giannoulias claims that he is getting NSC briefings. The Republicans are not, and are none too pleased about it. They've sent a letter to President Obama complaining about it. Peter Roskam joined John and Cisco to talk about the story, he is one of the co-signers of the letter.

An engineering student thought to be in a coma for 23 years was actually conscious the whole time. The economy means tight budgets for everyone. In some prisons they have had to cut back on meals… really. In Indiana, some prisons aren’t serving lunch on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to save money. Police say a man has admitted to kicking a puppy because the pit bull misbehaved, causing him to miss the beginning of the Steelers game.

The Senate health care bill made it over its first hurdle Saturday night. It passed a procedural vote 60-39. Does that mean the bill itself will pass? John and Cisco talked to political analyst Tony Blankley author of "American Grit: What it will take to survive and win in the 21st century." For months we've heard that talk of "death panels" in the new health care bill was crazy, but Cisco thinks that last night on 60 Minutes they were trying to convince people that dying sooner is the best policy.

Senator Barbara Debbie Mikulski as introduced a bill to ban the use of the term “mental retardation” from federal statutes and policy papers. Does the phrase have enough of a stigma that it is worth banishing from our lexicon, or is "mental retardation" just a clinical term? The owner of a Colorado used car dealership has used his billboard to question President Obama's birth certificate. A California high school student expelled for possessing unloaded shutguns in his pick-up truck … not on school property. The student had gone hunting early in the morning and parked off school property because he still had the guns locked in his trunk.

Parents of a Doylestown middle school student are outraged over what they found in their son's homework. An anti-Black caricature - with the caption "No Wai!" - was on the cover of a lesson plan. A police officer in Arkansas is suspended for using a Taser on a 10 year old girl. The girl hit the police officer in the groin with both feet and her knees. How young is too young for a police officer to use a Taser. New Illinois law requires school bus driver to check to make sure there are no kids left on the bus at the end of every trip. The Cook County Board today voted 12-5 to reduce the county sales tax by a half-cent on Tuesday. John and Cisco talked about it with Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica.

Senator Robert Byrd is now the longest serving member in the history of Congress. That NY-23 race still might not be over, as now Hoffman has “unconceded”. The vote margin has shrunk to about 2,000 people or so. It's a long shot but it's not over yet. Photos of President Barack Obama bowing to Japan's emperor over the weekend are still the talk of the country. A soldier is refusing to deploy to Afghanistan because she is a single mother and says that she cannot find someone to take care of her child. The army gives parents up to a year to come up with a child care plan before they are deployed, and she failed to do so. Is this a lack of compassion on the part of the military or is the parent not living up to her contract with the Army? A new report says that so far at least 10% of the jobs supposedly created by the stimulus package are completely bogus.
