Sadly you are correct. I held my nose and voted for Romney because I believed what we currently have is dangerous to the restoration to a republic. But make no mistake, I cannot blame these folks for staying home. Romney and the establishment did a awful job championing Republicanism as per the U.S.C. and did an even worst job defending themselves against the machine.
A commencement speech should not ever be overwhelmed with politics. This was not the venue for this type of speech. However, in his mind this is the right time to indoctrinate not only these graduating students but the parents and the less than stellar media. Climate change or should we say global warming is not "settled science". Because you disagree with his stance on "climate change" does not make one bad / evil yet this is exactly what they are trying to say. This $1 Billion competitive fund, who is paying for it? Did appropriate funds? Was it debated in both houses and who gave him the authorization to take my money for this mess.
The Executive Branch to include numerous members of congress are willfully breaking the law and they are getting away with it. Every single person in this country regardless of political affiliation should be irate at the actions of DHS and POTUS on this issue. Regardless of anyone stance on immigration "the law is being broken by those who are charged to uphold the laws of this nation." What's even more discerning is the states are not fighting back in any meaningful way IMHO. The head of DHS and everyone above and below him should be put in jail.
POTUS regardless of who is in office cannot "take power from the states unless the states willingly give it to him." For far to long the states have allow the federal government to enact "rulers law" over them. The founders and our increasingly ignored Constitution is clear "the states are sovereign" and its time they start acting like it. Very few, if any Governors are telling the folks in D.C. to pound sand! Stop talking and actually take action. The darn 10th Amendment is their firepower.

NC Senate Poll: Tillis: 39; Hagan: 36

Folks Tillis is part of the establishment and will do nothing more than enable this continuing train wreck. I was disappointed in my state for voting for Tillis. I believe Mr. Brannon was a better candidate and would actually defend the Constitution. If Tillis wins and that is a big "if", he will fall right in line with the rest of get along gang in D.C.
Steve1579, The presence of POTUS, regardless of party affiliation in theater does not in anyway connote respect! I sign of respect is to get the nations fiscal policies in order ($120 trillion), address the situation at the VA, stop denying the obvious, understand the threat of radical Islam and actually follow the darn Constitution. I can go on for days. Soldiers are being used as political props, this sir is not a sign of respect. Every POTUS as done this to some extent.
traitorbill, At one time I believed Texas was indeed a place where people could go where Republicanism as described in the Constitution would be followed. I no longer believe this is the case. Slowly things are changing, "pay strict attention to the major populations centers i.e. Dallas, Houston etc..." Then consider this, Gov. Perry is doing the right thing by encouraging businesses to move to a better business climate. However, the past 40-years should provide a valuable lesson. With those businesses come a change in the electorate, example North Carolina, Colorado and Virginia.

Two words "cultural Marxism." Please do some serious research on this topic. IMHO, it sums up what we are witnessing in every community, city, state and the nation in general. As long as they continue to appoint activist judges with immunity, it will be very difficult to change anything.

We no longer live in the America the founders fought for. Daily there are stories of intolerance of others opinions and beliefs. If you dare go against the radical left and in some instances the passive "so-called" right, you are ostracized, put in front of TV and publicly destroyed. Sadly, POTUS has made this his primary goal "destroy" the opposition for centralized power and we have given it to them on a silver platter. This small but important story to include the actions of the aristocrats in D.C. and countless others lets me know that we are no longer a Constitutional Republic. It will get worse before it gets any better!
